“The pen is me

And I am the pen:

In writing,

The pen gets lost

To become part of the thing

I cannot recall.” – Montri Umavijani

Parfums Dusita’s thirteenth fragrance is named after Montri Umavijani, whose poetry has been in the heart of every fragrance ever created by his daughter, Pissara. I have always been extremely moved and inspired by how certain bonds can transcend time and our mortal coils, and Dusita is one poetic example of how passion and love can fuel life and bloom in so many beautiful and poetic ways, and that can connect and touch so many lives, so profoundly.

One of my dreams has always been to create a fragrance directly inspired by, and dedicated to, my father, Montri Umavijani, who taught me about passion and humanity. It took me 2.5 years to create MONTRI, but taking my time was worth it – I wanted to be sure that the scent reflected my father’s personality, spirit, and his own love for certain fragrances. I would be truly happy if MONTRI, with its blend of suave spices, elegant florals, and noble oud, brings joy to as many people as possible; that is why I chose to price the first batch as an Eau de Parfum, while in fact the concentration is that of an Extrait. I want the fragrance to be accessible, to please, and to – hopefully – even connect perfume lovers around the world. After all, connecting people was always in the core of my father’s work and worldview.” – Pissara Umavijani, on Parfums Dusita Montri  exclusively for CaFleureBon

I love the little serendipitous moments of life, and four years ago, when Erawan was released, I remember being extremely touched by the poetry that served as inspiration, and when searching for more poems written by Montri, I discovered that he has been to my country numerous times and he translated many of my favorite Romanian authors (Mihai Eminescu poetry and many plays from Eugen Ionescu). In a deeper layer of serendipitous moments, now, wanting to read more of Montri’s poetry to better understand his character, I found that Montri’s poems were also translated into Romanian, and searching for that book (that, unfortunately, is not sold here anymore) I discovered that the only place where I have found it was in a library, in a small town, in the north part of the country, where my father grew up. Strangely united through this hazardous coincidence by an arc of time, two distant universes connected for a brief moment, and two girls sniffed their wrists, smiled, and thought of their fathers.

Parfums Dusita Montri  is a fragrant homage to the memory of her father, taking it one step further, and blurring the line of absence with joy.  What if.  What if he was here?  What kind of fragrance would he have loved today? Montri, translated in Thai means “a man who is a philosopher” and we find in this perfume mirrored and carefully composed reflections of a poet who immersed himself in his work to the point where the line of demarcation between his soul and his creations disappeared. A   sensitive soul, gentle, loving, strong, and kind, who loved nature and advised his little girl to always have a pen and a piece of paper when on the road, for travel is the most bountiful river where inspiration flows from.

Right from the start Parfums Dusita Montri feels quite different from other creations of Dusita, as this is the first time a a spice blend is used as a major ingredient. We dive in an avalanche of spices: saffron, nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon, oregano… well, let me rephrase that – not an avalanche per-se,  but more of a landslide, delicate, smooth and harmonious – like a carefully recolored memory of an Asian spice market. A rainbow of gourmand delights slides through the soft spicy cloud, a multicolored mouthwatering dried fruits accord that feels as playful and joyful as a handful of sweet little treats, hurriedly slipped in the traveler’s pocket, for the little girl waiting at home.

We change sceneries to a nostalgia-filled picture of Paris, somewhere in the 8os. The picture suddenly becomes alive, with two shadows passing through the image. One mysterious silhouette puts out a cigarette with the tip of her shoe, crushing it to the pavement, and we hear the hurried pace of her small steps, constricted by her dress, as she quickly descends the stairs. One shadow stops at the edge of the river, takes off the soft leather gloves, and waits there until the air of the evening becomes thick. Thick and blue. Tailored with the atemporal elegance and classical structure of classical French perfumery (with a nod to Mitsouko and L’heure Bleue from Guerlain) we are in the floral heart of the fragrance now, soft, powdery, woven around iris – think also of a deeper, benighted Splendiris in play here. The roses are two-faced: one looks at the past, with its crimson petals dried out between the pages of an old book, and another one is green, young and sappy.

Precious Agarwood came to mind, an ingredient my father knew only as an incense to aid meditation, and not as a fine fragrance component (he passed away in 2006, before Oud would become so widely embraced in the Western perfumery that he admired so much).  I decided to compose a fragrance built around Oud Palao, in a manner and style corresponding to the classic French perfumery tradition. I surrounded Oud with a soft Spice Blend, elegant Florals and noble Woods, but also Orris Butter – thus paying a tribute to one of my father’s most beloved fragrance notes.” Pissara Umavijani. When you think of the brand and oud, of course, your thoughts immediately fly to Oudh Infini – the dynamic, raw, and untamed animalic beauty that I must admit, I approach with caution and raised pulse. Parfums Dusita Montri is somehow related to it, but imagine a distant cousin who has kept the wild exotic beauty that runs in the oudh family veins, but who has been smoothly polished in the poshest and  the most proper ways, and now has royal impeccable manners and an effortlessly elegant posture.  And as the L’heure Bleue whispers are still echoing on my wrists, I almost feel obliged to say – this is one blue-veined Oudh Infini!  The Oud Palao shines in its multifaceted complexity with the best supporting cast: patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver. The synesthete in me sighed in delight when seeing the illustration on the website, as it makes the most sense to me to describe a fragrance in colors.

Parfums Dusita Montri is the first Dusita paris perfume centered on spices

Collage via Dusita official website

In my eyes,  Parfums Dusita Montri starts glistening, a rainbow of spices and dried fruits and crunchy tea leaves, a tactile rush of multicolored sweet emotions that slowly desaturates into pastels and then melts into golds. Yellows fade to sepia, the picture painted now borrows dark tones from the woody texture of the frame, then veers to milky blues, then the image unpeels itself from the canvas and free floats in the air: a blue-violet and powdery cloud, with rosy cheeks, and deep purple ink seeping in the vein-like nervures of a leather-bound old book. Then comes the oud. Imagine a reversed kind of iridescence – with deep colors that shift away from the light, opening up in darkness, this oud is fluttering like a butterfly caught beneath skin covered in silky fur. This gentile beast is tamed but never domesticated, as it escapes into shades of infinite green and deep rusty nostalgia.

Still from The Aroma of Tea”, 2006

If you know the short movie made by Dutch animator Michael Dudok de Wit, called “The aroma of tea”  – it moves like this image (see the film here)– both on the skin and in the heart.

Top: saffron, nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon, oregano, petitgrain, dried fruits

Middle: orris butter, rose de Mai, Damask rose, jasmine, ylang, soft leather, tobacco

Base: oud, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, tonka beans.

Montri a fragrance full of emotion and olfactory emotions, a rainbow of spices and dried fruits and crunchy tea leaves, a tactile wave of multicolored sweet emotions. I am from Bucharest Romania Europe

  • Dusita is my favorite perfume house. My first perfume was Fleur de Lalita, then I obtained Moonlight in Chiangmai. I saved up for for a good while in order to purchase my favorite in the collection, Issara. Melodie de l’Amour is next on my list. I wore a sample during a poignant life event and now can’t stop thinking about the fragrance because of the memories associated with Melodie. Now we have Montri, a fragrance I knew I wanted to try as soon as I read about it. One of the reason’s I am drawn to Dusita is Pissara’s kind, beautiful and elegant personality. Just like glimpses of her father can be seen in his poetry, Pissara’s personality shines in her fragrances. I would love to have Montri in my collection in order to experience her artistic interpretation of her beloved father. ~Indiana, USA.

  • I like that poem about pen at the beginning of the article. As Parfums Dusita Montri is dedicated to Pissara’s father, the inclusion of oud makes sense as Pissara reveals that her father used oud as incense to aid his meditation rituals. My favorite from Dusita is Oudh Infini. I am in US.

  • The amazing notes of the fragrance and how unique it is sparks my interest based on Nicoleta’s review. I live in Poland, EU. I don’t have a favorite Parfums Dusita because I never tried any perfumes from this house.

  • Thanks for this wonderful review Nicoleta!

What a lovely tribute from Pissara for her father and what an incredible coincidence that she eventually found her book in the exact town where her father grew up!

As a sensitive type, gentle, loving, strong, and kind, who loves nature, I feel this fragrance would suit me perfecty. I can’t wait to try it!

My favourite Dusita fragrance has to be Issara. I don’t wear it myself that often, but my partner does and I love it on her.

    Greetings from the UK!

  • When someone takes 2 and a half years to create something in remembrance of a loved one how can you not be moved by that? To take the time and really find the scents that correlate with traits of her father is very admirable. It would be a pleasure, an honor, to try this fragrance. I have never tried any Parfums Dusita but I’ve ready many great things so I need to get around to buying a bottle sometime. Thanks for the article and thank you, Pissara, for the generous giveaway. The beginning was beautiful. I was not expecting such an unbelievable kind human. The fact that the time spent for this fragrance to be what it is today was 2.5 years was unbelievable alone. But charging less so that much more people can buy it… If I will get lucky enough to wear this fragrance, i will try to cherish it as much as i can. Your father was an incredible man. Never had the chance of trying a Parfums Dusita fragrance but k really hope, after knowing the backstory of this fragrance, that i will get the opportunity to have this. Thank you for your work and thank you for the beautiful review. I live in Romania, EU.

Never heard of Mihai Eminescu poetry ,or plays from Eugen Ionescu , but the live and appreciation Pissara has for his father, always makes me think of my niece favorite song

Top quality spices , dried fruits, iris and woods no one can go wrong with. Now there’s two evergreens , Randy Newman “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” , and the new Montri , also a potential compliment getter.
Moonlight In Chiangmai and Issara in my opinion are the best Parfums Dusita perfumes

  • I love the poetry inspiration, crossing between different mediums of art. I also love the passion to dedicate the fragrance to Pissara’s father. The painted picture of a rainbow of spices and the evolution to darker tones sound so amazing! I have not tried Parfums Dusita, but I would love to have a signed bottle of Montri!! I am from CA, USA.

  • What spark my interest is that it’s so personal. With the difficulty of this project. Since create a fragrance inspire by someone isn’t an easy exercise, even more when its about somebody that you love. But it seems that Pissara has done it marvelously well, since in Nicoleta’s review I feel like that I was able to catching a glint of Montri the poet. From France.

  • I’m a fan of Parfums Dusita. Two of my favs are Erawan and Le Pavillon D’Or. Montreal sounds like a beautiful tribute to Pissara’s father. I loved the collage and the sensational description of the fragrance. Thanks for another awesome review and draw. Mich USA

What a lovely article! The use of color to help describe the fragrance experience was a nice touch: it made everything very vivid. I live in the USA

  • How lovely to create a perfume inspired by your love for your father. I’ve only smelled Oud Infini from Pidsara which was a bit too “advanced” for me so I’m pleased to know that this is a more approachable use of Oud with other things going on. Love the mixture of fine French perfumery a La L’heurre Bleu blended with Eastern facets this perfume and brand seem to do so well. Thanks for the draw! In US

  • Such an amazing review by a fragrance dedicated to the father of the creator. It was so warm to read this review since my father has always been a fundamental part of my life and my journey on fragrances. I loved the spices, the dry fruits and sweetness this fragrance has. I hope I get my nose soon on this amazing perfume
Sadly, I have not tried any Parfums Dusita fragrance yet.

Montri is like photorealistic image of Pissara love , and admiration for her father , made up , and bottled up in a scent .
I have smelled all Parfums Dusita fragrances now , except for Montri , and I have to say this brand is unique.
I’m glad Nicoleta is a fan of Erawan too ,it’s my favorite Dusita fragrance, not counting Montri of course . It is really unique ,to me starts green , but soon after big wave of chocolate is coming. I feel like I’m sitting in the middle of a hey field , on my left side there’s fresh cut lumber, but on my right side there’s a huge pot of melted high quality Belgian chocolate. I’ve discussed it multiple times with other people, and on forums, and most don’t get the chocolate, i definitely do.
If I have to rate my personal favorite Parfums Dusita fragrances:
    1. Erawan
    2. Issara
    3. La Douceur de Siam/Moonlight In Chiangmai
    All profiles I follow already , @waltherp99bg

  • Hello! What I loved about the story is that Pissara’s father was honored and his daughter named a fragrance after him. Not everyone is so lucky to have a father that loved his daughters.
I have not tested any from this brand and would be happy to own one from Dusita.
    I am from USA Seattle
    Thank you

  • I love Dusita , my love also loves Dusita. My favorite is Issara. From Munich Germany – EU.

  • You had me at “blue-veined Oudh Infini”. As a lover or spicy orientals, this compositions intertwined with the inspiration behind it seems like something I would love.

A great review as always from Nicoleta !
    Thanks for the draw.

  • These serendipitous moments with your fathers are amazing, I understand how this provides an emotional foundation for a fragrance sensation.
After my latest spice experience with the fantastic Eris Scorpio Rising I am curious how I will perceive this Montri. That is from this well known and appreciated house and nose, I love my Issara.
I’d love to win this to Germany, thank you for the draw!

  • Montri sounds very interesting! I’m intrigued by the melding of so many seemingly diverse elements and would love to know how they come together. My favourite Dusitas are La douceur du Siam and Anamcara.

  • Laurentiu says:

Altough I perceive most of Parfums Dusita creations leaning on the feminine side as being quite floral, I had a super nice surprise with Issara. A great woody aromatic! I wonder where Montri falls in the big scheme of fragrances from this house, since it looks like a woody floral. Thank you!

Having lost my own father, I can’t help but be drawn to this perfume which was created in honor of Pissara’s.

    I live in Texas, USA.

  • My interest was sparked by this offering having an oud presence, but not an overpowering one. US

  • I’ve never had the opportunity to try Dusita fragrances. I enjoyed the article and just love all those spicy top notes. Saffron is such an interesting note that blends so beautifully with rose and the woody drydown. Would love to finally have a Dusita in my collection!
    I live in the US.

  • BostonScentGuy says:

The poetry of this review is beautiful and an ode to Pissara’s father, I feel! I especially loved this synesthetic description: “In my eyes, Parfums Dusita Montri starts glistening, a rainbow of spices and dried fruits and crunchy tea leaves, a tactile rush of multicolored sweet emotions that slowly desaturates into pastels and then melts into golds,” combining color, smell, and touch. I love whatever Parfums Dusita has pulled out. I am particularly enamored of Issara, Cavatina, and Sillage Blanc. Thanks so much for this generous draw! I’m in the US (Colorado).

  • if I’d have a pen and a piece of paper on my travels, I wonder what will I use them for? maybe I should try it on my next trip, but right now, I remembered my notebook since I was younger [highschool or so] that I used to write down short excerpts from the books I’ve read, those who stroked a chord within me, from various reasons.
now I feel I’d do the same reading this review, and my pen would hastily mark down “Strangely united through this hazardous coincidence by an arc of time, two distant universes connected for a brief moment, and two girls sniffed their wrists, smiled, and thought of their fathers.” and “The roses are two-faced: one looks at the past, with its crimson petals dried out between the pages of an old book, and another one is green, young and sappy.” and “a blue-violet and powdery cloud, with rosy cheeks, and deep purple ink seeping in the vein-like nervures of a leather-bound old book.”, omg, such beauty 🙂
I’d probably approach the oud with caution, too, but I think the iris would make me brave[r] and willing to try Montri out, since it has such a touching backstory.
    I’m based in Europe.

  • A spicy perfume by Pissara?! Inspired by poetry?! Dedicated to her father?! As a fan of Dusita Perfumes (I have two), this sounds enchanting. Thank you! I am in the US.

  • I would love to win Montri! I love Nicoleta’s description when she says that, “imagine a distant cousin who has kept the wild exotic beauty that runs in the veins of the oudh family, but has been gently polished in the most chic and appropriate way, and now has impeccable royal manners and effortlessly elegant posture” because although I love Oudh Infini I couldn’t wear it for special occasions. My favorite Dusita fragrance is Le Sillage Blanc. I live in France, EU.

  • I like the poetic approach and creativity of this house. It’s Interesting that their new scent is a homage to the memory of the perfimer’s father. My favourite edition from the brand is Issara. From EU.

What a lovely tribute Pissara made for her father. Scent is such a powerful sense and can instantly stir up memories and remembrances. How appropriate that Montri starts with a strong spice blend before developing into oud by way of a blue-violet powdery cloud. I’ve only sampled Erawan from Parfums Dusita. MD, USA.

I’ve been to Erawan National Park, and the enigmatic Erawan waterfall, and also to Erawan Museum in Bangkok. Erawan , the fragrance i had my eyes on , and finally decided to pull the trigger , when I found out you can get 7.5 ml Parfums Dusita travel sprays.
Montri and Erawan do have the same vibe to me , full of the joy and amity fragrances , to me that’s more than enough , I’ll find a sample.
Since Montri was made to mimic the whole loving parent experience, I know the result of Pissara work is just magical .

Impressive job Nicoleta . I’ve learned a lot of new things today , 2 talanted Romanian writers, the special oud used in Monrti , and I remembered the last time I visited Montmartre.
Parfums Dusita discovery set is in my possession, and my favorite Dusita fragrance is Erawan , closely followed by Splendiris , and then comes Issara.
Montri was made of love and respect of Pissara for mr.Umavijani , it’s spicy , and sweet, and also slightly resembles Erawan and Splendiris. I like the whole picture. Alive and cheerful fragrance is what I’m expecting.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • A delicate land slide of spices sounds very interesting indeed. Your review captures the feeling of remembering someone, and I imagine this fragrance will be meaningful to many for that reason. I haven’t smelled anything from this house- yet. Thank you for the review, writing from the EU.

An avalanche of spices: saffron, nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon, oregano that softly slip into oud… Oh, that’s interesting!
    Hi from Croatia, EU.

  • Beautiful and full of emotion (the book in your father´s hometown) review Nicoleta! Full of emotion as Pisara´s homage to her father: it took 2,5 years to be ready. Not so easy, I guess, to reflect the personality, spirit and love for fragrances of your loved one in a scent. I suppose this is the reason takes so much time to be ready, you always thinks that you are missing something. And a very interesting idea you propose: “What if. What kind of fragrance would he have loved today?”. The opening is great : an spice blend without standing out a single one, just an harmonious accord; then the floral like some of Guerlain’s finest achievements. To finish: the oud, one of her father’s most beloved fragrance notes: a polished one, an unexpectedly and tamed non-animalic. My favorite Parfums Dusita is Moonlight in Chiangmai (love the yuzu & jasmine opening). I live in Spain, EU

  • The designs are beautiful, Montmartre is one of the most beautiful and characteristic neighborhoods of Paris, this black and white photo with its suggestive lighting is the symbol of the “ville lumiere”, I think this perfume fully represents all this, I love the oud and spices. I don’t know this brand but the fragrance is undoubtedly worth trying.
    Thanks, wonderful article

  • Making a perfume as a homage to a father made me look at Dusita Parfumes from a different lens. I have read Nicoleta’s article two times. I was completely mesmerized by Nicoleta’s ode to fragrance and Montri Umavijani, especially describing her connection to him and serendipitous book encounter. Montri seems to be such a special perfume that I should try. My favorite Dusita perfume is Moonlight in Chiangmai.
    Greetings from Slovenia (EU).

  • Nicoleta’s review connects the perfume with the little serendipitous moments of life. I’m Romanian, too. Serendipity?

I live in Portugal, and I’m not familiar with
Parfums Dusita, at least not yet

  • Nicoleta’s description of Montri as a rainbow of olfactory notes, textures, and emotions truly spoke to me. I love multifaceted, complex fragrances that tell a story and this one seems to capture Pissara’s dad spirit. I also really like the idea of a fragrance that includes a softer type of oud, although I’d also be interested to try Dusita’s Oudh Infini, described as a more assertive oud-centered scent. I enjoy many creations from the house, but Moonlight in Chiangmai is my favorite. I am in the USA.

  • Spices!! A whole lot of spices spark my interest in a second! And then roses and oud – my favorite combination when joined well! This perfume sounds perfect!

Nicoleta, thank you for this beautiful and personal review! The image of two girls sniffing their wrists and thinking of their fathers truly touched my heart. I am deeply touched by the artistry and craft of Pissara’s approach, and I love that she takes her time while creating her fragrances. Aware that her father was an exceptional persona and probably the most important figure in her life, I admire Pissara for taking the heavy weight project of making a perfume dedicated to Montri. As a lover of Mitsouko and L’Heure Bleue, as well as iris and all things woody and spicy, I am already in love with “Montri”. My favorite Parfums Dusita fragrance so far has been Moonlight over Chiangmai. Thank you from Dublin, Republic of Ireland, EU

  • This is a touching and heartfelt review, and Parfums Dusita Montri is a lovely tribute to Montri’s father. I like the idea of imagining not only what type of fragrance could represent a person in their totality, but also their preferences, and what kind of fragrances they would have loved today. The spice accord here captures my attention, especially with the addition of oregano, which strikes me as unusual; the “blue-veined” oud sounds beautiful, and easier to wear than some oud fragrances. Thank you for the beautiful review, Nicoleta.

I’m in the midwest, USA. I haven’t tried any Parfums Dusita fragrances.

  • Parfums Dusita Montri is a lovely tribute by Pissara to her father. I liked Nicoleta’s description when she describes the spices in Parfums Dusita Montri as “A rainbow of gourmand delights slides through the soft spicy cloud, a multicolored mouthwatering dried fruits accord that feels as playful and joyful as a handful of sweet little treats, hurriedly slipped in the traveler’s pocket, for the little girl waiting at home.” I love oud perfumes and Montri seems to have a very polished and elegant version of oud, per the review. I haven’t experienced this brand yet but from the reviews on Cafleurebon, it seems to be a wonderful brand with well-thought, elegant, emotionally touching creations. Thanks for the review and draw. From USA.

  • Montri sounds like a beautiful tribute to Pissara Umavijani’s father. It is suppose to be a reflection of her father’s personality, spirit and love of certain fragrances. I like how Nicoleta described the fragrance as well as provided her personal antidotes to describe and review Montri. I don’t have a favorite Parfums Dusita scent yet but hoping to familiarize myself with the house soon.

What I loved about this review is how much love the perfumer has for her father. I don’t know if his passing was sudden or unnatural, but it’s really touched me that we can get glimpses into his personality through the smells he loved and the color palate that describes his traits.

I don’t think the incident with the book of poetry being available in the father’s town’ library was mere coincidence.

I do love a good agarwood fragrance and I would love to smell this,

I haven’t had the chance to smell other fragrances from this house.

    Cheers from WI, USA

What sparks my interest based on Nicoleta’s review of Parfums Dusita Montri is learning more about the brand and Pissara’s inspiration behind the fragrance her father Montri Umavijani. Who was a loving father and talented poet. The spiceblend along with Tobacco and Oud sounds unique for Parfums Dusita and very good. My favorite Parfums Dusita fragrance is Erawan. I am from the USA.

  • I am quite curious how this new Oud perfume combines with the spices. Oudh Infini was a bit much for me, I believe this to be much rounder.
    I am from the EU.

  • Nicoleta’s article was so touching. From the image of the two girls sniffing their wrists half a world apart, being connected by the fragrance and, somehow, through or thanks to their fathers, to the fact that Montri has translated Romanian poems and was in his turn translated in Romanian. The circle of life.
The perfume itself sounds exquisite. From the nod to the classics, resembling L’heure bleue, to the spices and the blue oud, this sounds absolutely special. And as much as I love Splendiris, if Montri is a deeper, darker, spicier twist on it, I’m going to be over the moon to smell it.
    I live in the EU.

I love the serendipitous accounts that open Nicoleta’s review. How interesting and lovely that the search for Montri’s poetry led Nicoleta to a connection with her own father. The notes in Montri sound so well blended. I am particularly interested in the spicy top notes, as they interplay with the oudh at the end of the journey. I am touched that Pissara worked so diligently to create this fragrance and now she wants to make it available to many people.
I love Oudh Infiniti from Parfums Dusita.
    I live in the USA.

Beautiful review Nicoleta! What sparks my interest based on Nicoleta’s review is learning that Montri is inspired by the poetry of her father. I love perfumes inspired by literature and poetry, and what better literary inspiration than her father as we are coming up on fathers day? As a big lover of Pissara’s fragrances I can’t wait to try this one.

My favorite Parfums Dusita is Oudh Infini. I live in the US.

Such a beautiful review for such a very personal perfume! It is lovely Pissara has made a tribute to her father and can completely imagine that 2.5 years are necessary to do him justice.
I think Nicoleta describes the perfume beautifully. I’m most intrigued by the spice blend opening; I love spices in perfume and would love to know what that smells like in a Dusita perfume. Also I’m intrigued by the Oudh; often it is not for me but when it’s animalic properties have been tamed a little, I do like it.
I’m a big fan of the house of Dusita and it’s difficult to pick a favourite, but I think the one I like the most is Le Sillage Blanc.

I certainly want to try this fragrance. I want to see what the spices are like in the opening and in combination with the dried fruits. I also want to see what the oud in this is like. I haven’t tried anything yet from this fragrance house, but I’d to try all of their releases. I live in the U.S.A.

  • Thank you, Nicoleta for this interesting review about Montri. Although I did not try any of Dusita’s fragrances yet, it becomes one of my favorite perfume houses because of Çafleurebon’s nice reviews. The Top, middle, and base Notes of Montri attracted my senses as soon as I read about them. One of the reason’s I am drawn to Dusita is Pissara’s beautiful and elegant personality. Just like glimpses of her father can be seen in his poetry, Pissara’s character shines in her fragrances. I would love to have Montri in my collection as my first Dusita fragrance in order to experience her artistic interpretation of her beloved father. Greetings from Bosnia.

  • I’m not well familiar with Parfums Dusita, so reading about Montri in such details was really interesting. The way Nicoleta described it , it makes me think it would be calming and relaxing fragrances , capable of putting me in a zen mode.
With all the stress I had lately , and I need a Zen fragrance , so bottle of Montri would be a dream come true , dried fruits, spices ,leather , oud, and some slight funky feel.
Keep the artistic memories of your father alive, no matter what , i think Pissara process of making Montri was both pleasure, and a struggle.
Issara is my favorite Parfums Dusita , but it’s the only Pissara fragrance I’ve ever smelled.
    Thanks for the draw

Montri story is deep , and there’s sentimental value in it.
Nicoleta take on the fragrance reminded me of making the famous Thai Bael Fruit Cake, you can find all over Thailand, and in Thai restaurants and coffee shops worldwide. Most people outside of Thailand known Bael as either Bengal Quince, Golden Apple or Stone Apple
Since the memory of perfumer’s father, Thai poet Montri Umavijani is in the heart of all Parfums Dusita fragrances, Imagined him playing with young Pissara , having fun and both eating Bael Fruit Cake .
I really like Issara, La Douceur de Siam and Erawan , in my Pastry Chef mind they smell like
☆Issara , dry , woody and herbal. The tobacco in the base is so good. Leans masculine.
☆La Douceur de Siam to me smells like apricot and frangipani dessert cake . It’s popular in some Asian countries.
☆Erawan – green, woody and milky , slightly sweet. Another great fragrance
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

This fragrance must be so full of care & love. I can’t wait to experience it! One of my favorite gifts is the Dusita sample set (it’s so lovely & everyone can just feel the love & attention that go into Pissara’s work). I adore the Dusita bottles I own. My favorite might be Cavatina (at the moment). Thank you for this wonderful opportunity! ❤️ USA
