Maison Tahite Vanilla² Review (Marie Duchene) + “Grownup Vanilla” Draw

Maison Tahite Vanilla² review

Maison Tahite Vanilla2, collage by Nicoleta

Maison Tahité – Officine Creative Profumi has picked one of the most versatile and complex notes to focus  on – vanilla – a note that, in perfumery, is anything BUT “vanilla” (in an urban dictionary sense). There are so many faces vanilla can take: from the pastel whimsical hues of cookie-cutter ice cream to dark or deep boozy sultry reds; with sweet and spicy curves, creamy or powdery textures, low pitched woods or alert floral notes, domestically confectionary or strikingly exotic.  Sel_Vanille from Maison Tahité is an original aquatic take on vanilla, that I have been wearing each time I craved the salty sea smell (and that’s quite often ) and that I have covered here. From the line, I was also smitten with Vanilla²  –  a deeply deep gourmand that was one of my 2020 top fragrances.

A note from the brand on Vanilla²: “For true lovers of vanilla fragrances. An enveloping, immersive gourmand journey that heightens the beauty of this fragrance to the power of two. A journey in which vanilla is accompanied by sweet praline and talcum powdery notes that rest on a resinous base that leaves behind a fascinating trail.”

But before we get into the yummy deliciousness, let’s whet our appetite with some data:

Even if it’s just under 2% of our body weight, our brains consume around 20% of our total energy and about half of our daily carbohydrate requirements, with glucose being the most important source. Under stressful conditions our brains need up to twelve percent more energy – this is why, when we are feeling overwhelmed and anxious – one of the first things that pops in our minds is sugar – and we all know the siren’s call of the pint of ice cream in the fridge, usually growing louder in direct proportion to the urgency and stress of our workload.

Vanilla, besides smelling delicious, also has the effect of fluffing up a comforting and relaxing exoskeleton around you. First, we think of the happy childhood memories linked to vanilla, the milky warmth of breast milk, and the conditioning reflexes embedded in our programming (the sense of smell developing since before birth, when we are just twelve weeks old). Also, various scientifical studies have also shown that vanilla acts as a mild anti-depressant, reduces the startle reflex, anxiety, and helps you sleep better. Many studies have been carried on both humans and animals, the results pointing towards the intrinsic beneficial properties of vanilla, overwriting the sole explanation of just the positive childhood associations.

Enter Maison Tahité Vanilla² – with a notes pyramid that has a vanilla top, middle, and bottom. And some yummy goodness in the form of pralines to make things sweeter. Can we have too much of a good thing? Let’s dive into an overdose of sweet indulgence with a grownup gourmand scent that appeals to the kid in all of us.

Best sweet fragrances

Godiva chocolate ad

Imagine Maison Tahité Vanilla² like a hall of mirrors that takes us on a journey, contemplating different reflections of the same note – with subtle yet multi-layered facets. The start has a slightly bitter, playful undertone teasing us with restrained floral nuances before the rich and buttery overdose of sweet indulgence that follows. Soon, we get what we were promised: sweet dark vanilla, scooped out of long and plump pods, with decadently perfect pralines rolling in slow-motion on the table (thinking of Godiva-level-quality pralines here). We never get into teenager-drowning-in-cookies territory, or candle-like plain sweet vanilla because everything is balanced, round, gourmet-level delicious. Not long after, a note of talcum powder comes to dial back the sweetness back to a more sensual come hither level. The association that came to mind with this part of the scent was the imagery of the talcum-covered ballerina shoes, squeaking wooden-floored dance halls, whispers, and soft giggles.

Lana del Rey Ride video still

A new reflection flashes back from a different angle: billiard cue sticks talcum powder smell mixed with the low clouds of smoke of billiard pool rooms (does anybody else feel ancient when mentioning indoor smoking?) Echoed memories of old lacquered wood paneling, goosebumps from the slightly unnerving fuzzy texture of the green felt, smudged eyeliner, vision blurred by the overgrown fringe.  Yep, Lana would wear this.

Editor’s note: Maison Tahité – Officine Creative Perfumes has sustainability as a main objective, respecting the environment: they use recycled cardboard, vegetable glue, and paper made from almond shells. Also, in every package you will find a plantable card: a small gesture to make a flower bloom and offer a symbolic yet concrete contribution to making the planet a better place.

Maison Tahite Vanilla² launched in 2020, and the nose is Marie Duchene. Top notes: Vanilla flower; middle notes: vanilla, praline notes, powdery notes; base notes: vanilla, benzoin resinoid

I’m all about a spicy boozy vanilla that steers clear of the Play-doh realm (think Mona di Orio). I do love a truer gourmand too and these caramel notes sound delicious! Thank you for the offer – if I win I have a perfect spot for that seed card!

  • I like Nicoeta’s description of the development-from floral to decadent to sensual. It’s hard to resist a vanilla that doesn’t ring of overly sweet cupcakes! I live in the US. Thanks!

  • mleenstra says:

This sounds divine. I really enjoy vanilla fragrances but sometimes they can be to cloying. Nicoleta describes Vanilla^2 as not going into “teenager-drowning-in-cookies territory, or candle-like plain sweet vanilla” which sounds perfect to me. I also like the sustainability commitment of MTOCP and think that is something we should all aspire to. Marit NL/EU

  • I looove Vanilla fragrances and that note of praline sounds like gourmand deliciousness. Indiana USA

  • Santi r.c. says:

Years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes and since then I have taken great care of my health. I stay away from sugar, from chocolates and I have a very balanced diet. I only have one vice, and it is sweet gourmand perfumes, I love them!!!!!!.
I would love to try Vanille2.
    Greetings from Spain!!

  • Formula baby here, but any fragrance that starts off like breast milk absolutely peaks my interest. Does this mean that breast milk smells like vanilla and benzoin? I need to try both for comparison.

    Long Island NY

  • Nicoleta, another wonderful review! Thank you to Mme. DUCHENE for giving this beautiful scent to the world and a thank you to Maison Tahité for the generosity of the draw.

I’m a fan of gourmands of all ilks, and this sounds like a really great take on the various facets and endroits of vanille. The talcum note intrigues me and I can see it working well with the vanilla. Yes! The poolroom analogy works so well, I know exactly what you are talking about (and you’re making me feel ancient too!) Also love the sustainability side to Maison Tahité and love the idea of the flower card!

    I’m in the US.

  • Vanilla is too often synthetic in my opinion and hard to pull off. This one seems to have the depth and richness to pull it off though. USA based.

  • I don’t have much experience with gourmand fragrances; I think that this fragrance would be a good way to begin familiarizing myself with gourmand fragrances. According to Nicoleta, this fragrance was one of her top fragrances from 2020, and I’ll take that as a sign that this would be an enjoyable fragrance to wear. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • Susan Bohm says:

Sweet dark vanilla scooped out of pods…say no more..this is my thing. I am a hardcore vanilla fragrance lover and this line has intrigued me from the moment I heard about it..I am in New York

  • Trinity33 says:

Lol at the siren’s call of the pint of ice cream in the fridge! I tend to stay away from vanilla centered fragrances in fear of the cake/cookie/playdoh vibes. This sounds lovely and grown up. Sweet dark vanilla with a smoky finish is something I can see myself wearing. I also appreciate Maison Tahite’s commitment to sustainability. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • ancientone says:

No, one cannot have too much of a good thing, at least not when it comes to perfume, and books and music. Nicoleta’s review read to me like an evening in a closed attic, with dust dancing to the tune of a Rimsky-Korsakov disc, a cup of milky tea and an old novel next to a plate of chocolate chip cookies. That for me is pure indulgence, which breathes out of every word about this perfume. Thank you, Nicoleta! I don’t know much about this house, but I am impressed with their care for the betterment of our future, and will definitely try to sample their perfumes. Much love from Romania 🙂

  • You can’t really go wrong with Vanilla. My favorite is Lune Feline and Ani, such lovely vanilla. Also about the packaging, I can totally stand behind recycle-able material. Nicoeta talked about chocolate and Godiva made my mouth watered. Would love to win this one very much. San Antonio, Tx

  • Nicoleta’s hall of mirrors analogy was a perfect way to describe the complexity of vanilla and the many ways in which it can be admired. Maison Tahité has captured my interest since its recent appearance on Luckyscent’s website, and I am looking forward to trying this grown-up gourmand. The praline note sounds lovely. Thank you from Oregon, USA.

  • Dubaiscents says:

First of all, what very cool and eco friendly packaging! This scent sounds like my kind of vanilla, something not sweet and scented candle like. I wasn’t familiar with this brand. Thank you for the introduction. US

  • The quote nicoeta’s review ” Imagine Maison Tahité Vanilla² like a hall of mirrors that takes us on a journey, contemplating different reflections of the same note”

I’m so curious to hear how many different facets of a note can be displayed. It sounds so refreshing that it won’t smell like everything else.

    I’m from Ireland , EU.

  • Pixiedust2 says:

I’m so excited this brand is finally available at Luckyscent. I have three scents from Maison Tahite’ on my wishlist and Vanilla2 is the first one that caught my attention. Thank you for the review, there aren’t many out there yet. The billiard powder reference has me super intrigued, along with the praline note. And yes, I’m old enough to remember smoky pool halls! Thanks for the opportunity. I’m in the USA.

  • Deangnosis says:

Sweet dark vanilla and pralines my two favorite notes, sounds like a match made in heaven. US, MN.

  • I love vanilla so right away I was interested. I also recalled the review on Sel_Vanille and that I had visited the house website then. But Vanilla^2 sounds great because it shows many facets of vanilla and also is not childish based on this review. Id love to win this generous draw which is, as always, much appreciated. Others from the line sound very appealing as well like Floranilla. Nice to see that Maison Tahité Officine Creative Profumi is available in the U.S. now! Thanks again, from CT USA.

  • Gourmand Vanilla with addition of Spices that will transform into my childhood vanilla and praline cookie days is what I’m interested in.
Wow, would love to try this.
    Big hi from Croatia!

  • NiceVULady says:

I didn’t know that vanilla reduces anxiety and has a mild anti-depressant effect. And if it helps you sleep, bring it on. Seriously, this sounds really great. Many thanks to Nicoleta for her informative review and many thanks to Maison Tahité Officine Creative Profumi for making this draw possible. I’m in the USA

Maison Tahite Vanilla² launched in 2020, and the nose is Marie Duchene. Top notes: Vanilla flower; middle notes: vanilla, praline notes, powdery notes; base notes: vanilla, benzoin resinoid. I am intrigued by the notes especially vanilla and benzoin resinoid. Vanilla was a note that I had wrong misconceptions about but it is my favourite note in perfumery. A beautiful description by Nicoleta and the fact that this house is environmentally friendly just makes this house so much more than a brand. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • A note from the brand on Vanilla²: “For true lovers of vanilla fragrances. An enveloping, immersive gourmand journey that heightens the beauty of this fragrance to the power of two. A journey in which vanilla is accompanied by sweet praline and talcum powdery notes that rest on a resinous base that leaves behind a fascinating trail.” I am intrigued by the notes especially vanilla and benzoin resinoid in particular. A beautiful description by Nicoleta just adds to allure of this note and the fact that this is a house that is environmentally friendly sounds like sumptuous blend. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • LorentzoP says:

As a gourmand fragrance lover, I am intrigued to find out how the delicious vanilla-praline combination is blended with flower and powdery notes. Many thanks to Nicoleta for the mouth-watering description of the olfactory experience this fragrance provides, and to Maison Tahité for their generosity.
    I live in Greece.

  • Cezara Alexandra says:

Nicoleta’s review is as always interesting. I love the billiard room description, brings bacm many memories – those were the times I didn’t know I’ll miss some day. Vanilla, praline and a bit of powder does sound like my cup of tea as I am a big lover of gourmands.
    I live in Europe, Romania.

  • Vanilla scents have become more appealing this last year. Perhaps this is why: “various scientifical studies have also shown that vanilla acts as a mild anti-depressant, reduces the startle reflex, anxiety, and helps you sleep better. Many studies have been carried on both humans and animals, the results pointing towards the intrinsic beneficial properties of vanilla” This sounds like a lovely vanilla.

  • I enjoyed reading this review and exploring its visuals; billiard sticks, ballerina shoes on wooden floors, indoor smoking vibes, and Lana wearing this!!- then this perfume must be perfection 😀
Side note: I also very much appreciate the environmental friendly approach of the company! Kudos to them!
    I live in Spain ~

  • I have to confess I had a hard time focusing on the text after seeing those delicious little pralines in the collage. Luckily Nicoleta foresaw this reaction perhaps, so she included some very interesting (and useful) information about the role of sugar in our bodies, which made it easier to come back to more detached thoughts.
The fragrance itself sounds wonderful: slightly bitter, slightly floral and with a healthy dose of “retro” talcum before hitting gourmand territory, and even then, never too young or candy shop inspired.
Maison Tahite’s idea of included a seed in a card is wonderful also. I will make sure to plant it, should I win.
I am in the EU. Thanks!

a vanilla gourmet temptation just the way I like it. I am from Eu Bucharest Romania Europe

  • I love the note of vanilla and the association with Lana del Rey is perfect! Love her music and everything she does. I’m very i’m very interested in trying this brand! Sending love from Italy

  • Great description in the review. I’m intrigued by how the vanilla here sounds complex, and yet not over-complicated. Sounds like it’ll take me on a fascinating journey. I live in Ireland.

  • flosolentia says:

Excellent review, Nicoeta, I really love the aroma of vanilla in bakery and in perfumery, I see nothing wrong with smelling vanilla. It is, indeed, a very good antidepressant!

    Germany based

  • I absolutely adore vanilla in perfumes and the combination of pralines and powdery notes really spark my interest! And well, a presentation is beautiful! I live in Croatia, EU.

  • macaroni023 says:

Thank you for bringing my attention to this one. Perfume sounds so yummy, I always tend to go for more dark sweet, spicy vanilla notes, but this sounds so comforting. I can definitely agree that vanilla somehow has its calming comforting effect. I love it! Likewise, I applaud for a sustainable package. It is such a nice addition to the good perfume, the world needs more products that respect resources of our planet. Thank you for the draw. I am based in the EU.

  • As much as I don’t like vanilla in cakes, I love it in perfumery. It is gourmand, sweet, happy, positive and sunny. I especially love Madagascar Vanilla, which I find more delicate and discreet. Maison Tahite Vanilla² makes me think of an exotic beach, with wild colorful flowers, cocktails, blue water and sun up in the sky…a perfect summer day captured in a bottle…I currently live in Romania

  • Now I know why sugar pops into my mind so often. I like the idea of calling this a “grownup vanilla”. US

  • I absolutely love real vanilla fragrances, Nicoleta’s review describing the many layers and facets of vanilla are what most appealed to me. And Maison Tahite – Officine Creative Profumi’s dedication to sustainability is lovely as well. I am in the US.

  • I love gourmand perfumes. The vanilla and caramel notes are addictive to me. I hope I can try the ones from Vanilla2. greetings from Spain

  • I love vanilla so instantly I was interested! I think it is sensual when you open a pod , the sweet dark smoky interior that magically changes a milk, cream… but it is true that it is a comforting smell… As Nicoleta reminds us, we need sugar, glucose to make our body, our brain work and I recognize some nights after dinning, I have sugar cravings… Mrs. Tomsa uses the image of a hall of mirrors, the journey contemplating different reflections of the same note… it is a great image… on this scent, all the itineraries of the vanilla… the echoes of vanilla through the fases of the perfume.. I live in Spain, EU

  • Anna Egeria says:

My interest is sparked by by the vanilla notes, top, middle and bottom. I also love and crave pralines!
I ‘m in the US and thank you for this draw!

  • JulietteC says:

The idea of “billiard cue sticks talcum powder smell mixed with the low clouds of smoke of billiard pool rooms” and the fact that Nicoleta thinks that this would be a scent perfectly designed for the gorgeous Lana del Rey is a major blind trigger for me!

I looove vanilla and powdery notes, so Maison Tahite Vanilla² would be a love for me .

Thank you guys for this chance, I live in Europe, Romania.

  • Wow, Nicoleta, this perfume sounds mouth watering, I really like vanilla in everything, food, fragrance, soap..

  • Now this is my kind of vanilla perfume! Vanilla notes in the top, heart and base!! And add in that praline note, it sounds AH-MAZING!!! That was a really great description of the artwork of the woman in the pool hall. And the smell of indoor smoking – crazy how we used to allow smoking indoors!!
    I live in the US.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I haven’t met a vanilla I don’t like. I love your analogy to the smoky pool hall. Oh, I remember those. You have me curious about Sel Vanille as well. An aquatic take on vanilla sounds lovely for summer. Thanks for the draw, from the US.

  • I’m so glad to hear about their focus on sustainability. I think this will become more common and a selling point for luxury items. I love a complex vanilla. I find them easy to reach for in most situations and seasons. This sounds like it would fit right in. Thank you for the review & the draw. I’m in the US.

  • I really like many of Marie Duchene’s fragrances, so I’d be interested to try this one too. I like the idea of including both vanilla and vanilla flower. I am also impressed with the line’s dedication to the environment and sustainability. I am in the USA.

  • Bryant Worley says:

Nicoleta gave a very good breakdown of why this fragrance NEEDS to be sniffed. This little bit makes me desire this fragrance: “The start has a slightly bitter, playful undertone teasing us with restrained floral nuances before the rich and buttery overdose of sweet indulgence that follows. Not long after, a note of talcum powder comes to dial back the sweetness back to a more sensual come hither level.”

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • wilsonwc76 says:

This sounds delicious! I love a vanilla fragrance, and I love that this one sounds rich and dark, which is so unusual and intriguing! And I love this bottle and packaging design! I’m in NYC.

  • Claumarchini says:

I’ve always thought I did’t like vanilla in perfumes, but I’ve recently changed my mind and I seem to be more and more attracted to sweet, gourmand fragrances. Can it be the mental workload coming from having to work from home all the time and the fact that at home we are more exposed to the sweet temptations coming from out fridges? 🙂 Jokes aside, Nicoleta’s previous review of Sel_Vanille had already sparkled my interest in this brand, and so I’d love to be the lucky winner of this draw! I am based in the EU

  • I don’t like vanilla in perfumery; it reminds me too much of pastry, yet I tried with Tihota Indult, Spiritueuse Double Vanille Guerlain and Mona di orio Vanille but Nicoleta’s description makes me want to try Vanilla2 maybe the vanilla I need! What I like about the brand description: “Maison Tahité – Officine Creative Perfumes has sustainability as a main objective, respecting the environment: they use recycled cardboard, vegetable glue, and paper made from almond shells. Also, in every package you will find a plantable card: a small gesture to make a flower bloom and offer a symbolic yet concrete contribution to making the planet a better place. “I think it’s important these days to have brands that care about the planet, I support this beautiful initiative. I live in France, EU.

  • I must admit I have had no idea that vanilla has such a beneficial and healing impact on people. Nevertheless, my first and very dear association of vanilla scent is from my childhood: spending time with my grandmother baking vanilla cookies. Then later, for many years, I was encountering vanilla solely as the constituent of an ice-cream. Admittingly, I was not too impressed by the taste and did not care about the smell. Then, my first journey to the perfumery world around 2011/12 brought to my attention some superb vanilla scents and I have stayed in a category of self-declared » vanilla–lovers « ever since. These days, I can appreciate vanilla as a part of the composition and its own, I even started to use it in my culinary and baking experiments.
What makes Maison Tahite Vanilla2 so intriguing to me is that the vanilla constitutes all three layers of the olfactive pyramid. Reading about being combined with high–quality pralines makes my mouth water. Nicoleta’s description of a multi-faceted complex structure and the bitter beginning has amplified the appeal of the fragrance. I am more than tempted to try this yummy goodness. 🙂

Thanks to Maison Tahité to make this draw possible.
Thank you, Nicoleta, for another review – poetically beautiful and informative at the same time.
Greetings from Slovenia (in the EU).

  • I liked the idea of a vanilla fragrance that sounds so perfect to sniff during these taxing times. Those Godiva chocolates look delicious. Mich USA

  • patrick_348 says:

My problem with many vanilla fragrances is that the vanilla often overwhelms the other notes. Nicoleta’s description makes it sound like there is enough dialogue between vanilla and the varied accompanying notes that I would like this fragrance. I am eager to try it. I live in North Carolina in the US.

  • doveskylark says:

I so enjoyed the Lana del Rey reference. Also the pool hall reference. That brought back memories of my childhood shooting pool. These days, I have to be really careful about my sugar consumption, but Nicoleta’s review made me think of my past love of sugar in all its forms. I also thought about how I used to dab vanilla extract behind my ear lobes. Thank you Nicoleta for the walk down memory lane.
    I live in the USA.

  • “Grownup vanilla” sounds intriguing, happy to stay away from the overly sweet cookie-like vanilla. Currently I own Tauer’s Vanilla Flash which is boozy and definitely my thing.
This being said, the description of the behavior of the perfume from start to finish was quite relevant and made me want to try this. Always loved vanilla and as I said, the darker the better.
Thank you for the give away, I am based in EU.

  • If I win this generous draw, I hope I will like Maison Tahite Vanilla2, because in the past, I have not liked vanilla and praline gourmand perfumes. From Nicoleta’s review of Maison Tahite Vanilla2, it seems it’s not plain “vanilla” and maybe benzoin will come to the rescue. I haven’t tried any Maison Tahite perfumes, yet. Nicoleta also says it’s comforting and describes the scientific underpinnings of vanilla as being comforting, so that is good to know. Maybe my opinion will change after trying a not too cloying well balanced and well designed vanilla perfume. Thanks for the generous draw and review. Writing from the USA.

  • Christos GX says:

The fragrance from the description makes you want to smell it,i love vanilla as a note in fragrances(one of my favorite notes in perfumery). What sparked my interest is the first the fact that it is a vanilla scent(with praline Oh Lord!)and the different “layers” or “facets” of the fragrance.I live in Greece.

  • Danu Seith-Fyr says:

I have no need to enter the draw as I already own a beautiful bottle of this perfume, Just commenting to say thank you Nicoleta for a great read, informative and absolutly spot on with your descriptions. Certainly had me craving a spray, it is divine on skin, warming like the slow caress of that mouthful of hot chocolate you drank after playing in the snow. the same delicious delight that courses through your veins. Its a craving incarnate.

  • wandering_nose says:

The deep, grown -up vanilla is my current dream as I am past the candle wax vanillas (despite still loving them dearly). Nicoleta’s review is beyond appealing and brings me to the realization that the vanilla universe is as vast as clear sky and one never knows what masterpiece is on the horizon. Absolutely loving the notes… I am based in the Republic of Ireland, EU

  • vickalicious says:

This sounds like an absolutely delicious one! I remember the review on Sel Vanille, which was the first time I learned of this house. This one has me equally intrigued. The talcum powder note that Nicoleta described interests me. I love vanilla-centric fragrances and would the opportunity to try this one. Also, I love the photos included with this post!! Located in the USA.

  • Kaitlynellis1 says:

I really enjoyed how she described the journey that this fragrance takes its wearer on as it develops over time.

    I live in the US.

  • This sounds like it adds mystery to the familiar. Also, the information on research into vanilla’s effects on people and animals is fascinating. Thank you. (USA)

  • I like the description of this fragrance as having somewhat bitter and dark undertones, and not veering into cloyingly sweet territory. This is always a danger with vanilla. I’m in MD

  • ANDREEA ELENA TIMOFTE says:

    Hello,
There are sooo many perfumes I haven’t heard of and I find them here. Would love to try Maison Tahite Vanilla.

  • wallygator88 says:

I need to spend more time looking at this house. They make fascinating vanilla frags. I particularly liked the idea of an ocean inspired salty vanilla fragrance.

This one in contrast explores the senssuous, decadant aspects of vanilla. I really like how this review talks about the talcum note dialling down the sweetness of the scent.

    Thanks for the great review!

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Kirsten Mae says:

Ooooooohhhhhh!!! This sounds so delicious! I loved the reference to vanilla bring you back to childhood and that lana del tey would wear it! I would bathe in this! Thanks for the lovely review and the draw!

  • As both a lover of the culinary arts as well as perfume fanatic (with an unabashed fondness for gourmands), this perfume review really spoke to me. Vanilla is my all time favorite note in both baking as well as perfumery. Call me simple but whilst I do enjoy vanilla in more complex forms from smoky, boozy, oriental, etc (which seem to be preferred in the niche world), I yearn and adore it when it is more straightforward and cozy (not to be mistaken with saccharine, overbearing, juvenile cakey or candle like vanilla).

I could bathe in the original Vanilla Lace by Victoria’s Secret (something I would steal as a little girl from my older teen cousin in the 90s), for instance. If Nielsen-Massey came out with a companion perfume (to their extracts) I would certainly be here for it. For me, vanilla is such a source of comfort and it is so unusual to see vanilla in the top, middle and base notes of a fragrance so I imagine this would be the ultimate in comfort to me. Pair it with nutty pralines, which viscerally reminds me of youthful summer days in New Orleans and I am gobsmacked and truly believe it would be love at first sniff. Round all of that gourmand goodness with equally tender notes of benzoin and talcum powder and I think I will fully be transformed to my childhood, just a much simpler time.

I am not certain what Maison Tahité’s Vanilla² smells like but judging by Ms. Tomsa’s detailed description (as well as my affinity for a few of Ms. Duchene’s fragrances), in my mind’s eye, it would be my bespoke fragrance, tailored just for me. I am from Georgia in the United States and I appreciate the giveaway opportunity. Thank you!!!!

  • I love the way Nicoleta describes Maison Tahite Vanilla 2 “billiard cue sticks talcum powder smell mixed with the low clouds of smoke of billiard pool rooms ” This is such a creative way to put the words and Vanilla, top middle and bottom. I also love the seed card! This sounds great, you can’t get enough vanilla! California

  • Michael Prince says:

What sparks my interest on Nicoleta’s review of Maison Tahite Vanilla is how she beautifully described the fragrance and it’s lovely gourmand notes. I loved learning about the brain and how you unconsciously crave sweet, sugary, and gourmand deserts. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • glowquest_ says:

I hungrily read this article and what a wonderful review! As soon as I saw these fragrances in the new release section on Luckyscent I knew I was in trouble. I haven’t been able to get any yet but oh better believe I will as soon as able. I’m a big vanilla lover and that has been one of my favorite parts in my fragrance journey so far, discovering the many different facets of it and how amazingly beautiful it can be in so many ways. I love a gourmand vanilla as much as I love aquatic, woody, floral vanillas so this brand is one I think will be such a pleasure to explore! Thanks for the chance! USA

A gourmand vanilla sounds very interesting. Definitely like that this is not ridiculously sweet fragrance with vanilla and praline.
