In 2016,  Sr. Contributor Sebastian Jara reviewed Layton and now with Layton Exclusif, he returns with his thoughts on the new interpretation, which is more Oriental in feeling; perfect for the cooler weather. • I like how Sebastian talked through the fragrance notes… how the fragrance moves from a strong citrus opening to a Mediterranean vibe. Sounds like a magical freshy. I’ve never owned or tried a Parfums de Marly fragrance.

  • Love the original and really glad they “darkened” this one up. Excellent strength and projection as with all PdM fragrances. Love Sebastian’s in depth cover of the notes. He’s spot on about the top and heart of the frag.

  • GrandmaGaga says:

As alway, I loved Sebastian’s approachable, down-to-earth style. Yes, I have samples Layton and have coveted it for my husband but Layton Exclusif, with the added civet, sounds even better! My favorite Parfums de Marly is the lovely Safanad, which is also on my wish-list. I am in the US.

  • I liked how Jara admitted to not being big on animalics, but also being able to admit that it worked in this fragrance. I’ve only ever tried Herod (and LOVE it); looking forward to trying this one, too!

  • SABASTIAN is ALWAYS so knowledgeable and I always appreciate when he shares his wisdom. He has an amazing noise and always reviews a wide range of fragrances. I’m glad to get his input on this undoubtedly amazing scent. I love the original Layton and an really trying to get a FYI bottle. I own Herod as well which is such an amazing Tabacco Fragrance. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to get my nose on this Fragrance if I am so blessed as to win this contest! THANK YOU SABASTIAN!!

  • Mack Elwood says:

Great review as always by one if the best in the community. I really enjoy the original and am pretty excited about this one now. This and Herod are my top 2 from PdM.

  • Sebastian introduced to Layton not too long ago and I have since bought a decant (pretty expensive) and is almost out. I would love to win a bottle of Exclusif Layton. Such a BEAUTIFUL scent!

  • You had me at Civet. I use to hate this note but now I’m finding myself more drawn to it’s animalist behavior. Also digging the coffee note too. This is beautifully aromatic and I do agree it can be used year round. I did try Layton and I have tried this as well. I preferred Exclusif much more. I do own Oajan which is a beauty in it’s own right. Parfums de Marly are some great fragrances and well deserve a place in the fragrance world. Thanks for the great review. In the USA.

  • I love Sebastian for being detailed when describing the scent. When I am listening his reviews it is like smelling the fragrance that he is taking about. I have Lyton the original one and I love it, but I think that I may love this one even more. Thank you for a giveaway!

  • JerryWRivera0 says:

I have decant of both Layton and Layton Exclusif and they are both rich and wonderful in their own ways. I like Sebastian’s Note breakdown as well as his take on the seasonal appropriate use of either of these masterpieces. While Layton is very bright and alluring, Exclusif is dark, peculiar and mysterious in all the right ways.

  • Patrick Echevarria says:

I’m glad Sebastian mentioned the added note on this new Exclusif vesion of Layton which is civet because I’ve been asking people what’s the difference between this and the original and nobody seemed to know. Knowing that it’s civet, one of the notes that I’m not a big fan, I’m weary if it is prominent or not since I love the original without the civet note. My fav PdM remains to be Herod followed by the original Layton. San Diego,USA

  • I have not tried Layton, but the Layton Exclusif sounds perfect for the fall and dreaded (by me) winter weather, I also like the idea of a fresh beginning and an Oriental heart. Parfums de Marly is one the few lines that I like a lot. My favorite is Oajan. USA.

  • I have the same taste that Sebastian has and usually end up buying all the highly rated perfumes he endorses.

  • Gabriel Gallawa says:

I have 5 PDM fragrances with 2 more arriving on Tuesday. Layton is great but Herod may be the best frag ever in my mind. I appreciate Sebastian’s straight forward and informed reviews. It makes it much easier to determine whether I should pursue a new frag or not.

  • Cologniano_D says:

    Hi,

Sebastian’s review is straight to the point. It’s about the fragrance at hand, not wandering off to another like it from another brand. His Layton DNA reference and added notes makes it all the more inviting. Layton smells fantastic. This one I’m sure equally! My favorite PDM is Oajan. Thank you for this opportunity.

    Charlie

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always so clear and yet so personal. I have never tried Parfums de Marly, but i love the concept of relating to horses and dressage, etc. Thanks for the draW. I live in the USA

  • Always like Sebastian’s reviews. Gives good details and an idea of what
It’ll smell like. Would like to try the original Layton and this one too.
Hopefully I get a chance. Not familiar with civet fragrances though
    Thanks

  • Kai Heng Hong says:

Sebastian has made me interested in Layton and Layton Exclusif. I really want to try this! I’m located in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA

  • cornerstoneway says:

Sebastian is always right to the point and I always find that his descriptions and recommendations vare spot on. I love his passion.

  • I appreciate Sebastian’s detailed descriptions of fragrances. I only have a sample of the original Layton and I think it smells great, and his review has made me want to try Layton Exclusif

  • i’m not familiar with this brand, but always looking for a warm winter scent, and I liked how he lists the notes, and what he thought about the scent

  • I would love to be entered in the giveaway and try this cologne. I’m a fan of fresh fragrances and Sebastian says it has great longevity. So that definitely has me interested.

  • As always, Sebastian does a great job in breaking down the notes in his reviews. Looks like parfums de marly is a favorite of his. Would love it to be my favorite too.

  • fazalcheema says:

I learned from Sebastian’s review that Layton Exclusif is a darker and richer version of the original as if this is more suited to night wear. It may be considered Layton Nuit even. Thanks for the generous draw. I am in US

  • Luis Chavez says:

I really love the way that Sebastian reviewed this scent from opening ,middle, and base notes!! I’ll be amazing to win a full bottle of layton exclusif!!

  • Nick rosenbeck says:

He has an interesting idea for Layton being for spring summer and exclusif for fall and winter. I would see both as mote of fall and winter scents, like most all of the PdM house

  • Sebastian is always spot-on with his reviews! He does a fantastic job breaking down the scent without dragging on for 30 minutes. I’ve not tried the original Layton, but this Exclusif version sounds more appealing to me. As of right now my favorite Parfums De Marly is probably Herod, though I love Oajan, too.

  • First ,thnx for great giveaway cafleurebon and pdm !! Second what i love about sebastian review Is very detailed and hes honest …he says its a improved version of the original which I heard was already great.

I have not tried layton and a few others from the line, everyone talks about herod but imho Oajan is the one to try and Habdan great also .

    im in the usa

    thnx again 4 giveaway ,

  • Kofi koranteng says:

Layton Exclusif smells soo good. Great for fall n winter nights. It’s gorgeous and rich. Got some coffee, apple and woody notes in it. I have the original Layton n also got myself a 2ml decent.
Great video!!!! Would be happy if I win.
    Happy Halloween.

  • chris smith says:

First Sebastian is the best reviewer on YouTube I’ve learned so much about niche house and designer scent ..I truly appreciate his knowledge of the perfume industry!! And thank you for giveaway Cafleurbon!!!

  • Great review … The original is wonderful – the original reminds me of a rich caramel apple. Nice to hear this one is more on the oriental side – to me that would take Layton to a whole new level for the Fall/Winter. There are other Parfums de Marly that I’d like to try as well, such as Oajan. I’m in the USA.

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian spent time explaining which version of the PdM is preferable for different weathers! Great review!

  • Jose cerrillo says:

Sebastian has a great YouTube channel and love fragrance reviews. I am a big fan of Parfums de Marly hopefully I win

  • I can feel the same emotion and expectation as Sebastian to try Layton Exclusif, because I’m in love with the original Layton. I’ll be the happiest man if I can win!

  • I liked that he said Layton is a good spring summer scent and Exclusif is a good fall winter fragrance.

  • Stephen T Wood says:

I like all of Sebastian’s reviews. I like how passionate he is about fragrances. Parfums de Marly make amazing scents. Sampled a few, I like Oajan the best out of the ones I have smelled. Never smelled Layton before.

  • doowtnehpets says:

I like all of Sebastian’s reviews. He’s straight forward and always give his honest opinion. Never tried this one, but love Oajan out of the few I’ve sampled

  • I like watching Sebastian because we have similiar tastes in fragrances. I love the original as well and if Exclusif comes recommend by Sebastian who loves the original too, I want a bottle.

  • really enjoy all of Sebastian’s reviews, he gives great comparisons to other fragrances. I have Layton and love it. Would love to have Exclusif.

  • Michael McDonald says:

I like how Sebastian brought up the animalic notes. I have a sample of this and I didn’t smell the animalic aspect until he brought it up. I have tried the original Layton; I sprayed it on my friend before we went to a bar and it worked wonders. My favorite from Parfums de Marly that I’ve tried is either Herod or Layton Exclusif. They are both new samples, so I haven’t chosen my favorite yet. Exclusif will definitely be my favorite if i win a bottle haha

  • Xavier Reynolds says:

I loved Sebastian’s take and description on how Layton Exclusif is an improvement upon an already highly versatile niche fragrance. I’m intrigued with how he said Exclusif is an darker version of the original since I am into dark fragrances. It would mean the world to me if I won a full bottle of this. From Columbus, Ohio.

  • So thrilled to have discovered this community! I really look forward to learning and experiencing more fragrances as well as honing the art of scent. The choices for the masses have been very uninspiring and just a drag dealing with disappointment time after time. I look forward for the chance to have Layton Exclusif! It would be an honor!

  • Great video as always. I think the best parts is that Layton Exclusif still has the original Layton DNA but has its own personality. Layton can be used in spring and summer months and Layton Exclusif is more for fall and winter. Good Luck to everyone!

  • Jesus Cortez says:

Loved Sebastian’s take on the difference between the original and the new version . Currently a fan of Herod and Pegasus.

  • Tried Layton Exclusif at Nordstroms, and it immediately went to the top of my Christmas list. Stunning fragrance with fantastic performance.

  • Petersen Pohlen says:

I like the length of the videos he makes and have not tried Layton or the rest of the line.

  • FewSprays and go says:

Im very interested in smelling layton exclusif!! I love the power of the horse (parfums de Marley)! Thanks for the chance!!

  • I heard of the house thru Sebastian but I have yet to put my nose to any of Parfums Marley scents. Also the fresh winter scent that Sebastian describes would be new for me, bc I I don’t associate fresn scents ot fall amd winter

  • Sebestian did a great job explaining the difference between Layton and Layton Exclusif. It encouraged me even more to want to have the Layton Exclusif since I already own and love Layton. Parfums de Marly has done a great job with releases in their relative short history of making perfumes. I also love Herod and Pegasus.

  • I, like most on this list, watch Sabatian because we trust his reviews. He shares both his thoughts and his fragrances. So what more could you want…

  • First of all, Thank you Sebastian! In one word Layton is great and everybody around you will enjoy the smell.
Personally, I have a little problem with lavender and Layton has it. But, right now we have Layton Exclusif without lavender note and this one is going to be a perfect choice for me.
I never tried Exclusif, but performance, harmony and balance of notes of Layton is great.
Thanks to the Fragrance Group and Cafleurebon for the opportunity.
    I live in the USA.

  • Thank you all for the opportunity to win this amazing fragrance. I love PDM Layton and with this exclusive flanker I can wear it in the colder weather. I don’t have any bottles with an animalic note but Sebastian’s breakdown put me at ease and eager to try!!

  • This sounds like a great cold weather scent, potent and fresh. I have not tried the original version. US

  • I always appreciate and love Sebastian reviews!!! Great work! Thank you, dear Sebastian.
I love original Layton and as Sebastian says Layton Exclusif has more oriental touch and some animalic side due to civet. I think I will like his freshness with oriental touch.
    USA, DE

  • “An improved upon an already perfect fragrance” Sebastian does it again! A darker more interesting freshy version of Layton… Great explanation of the differences between the two. Being a little more Middle Eastern with its complexity… Sound very interesting. Yes, count me in this draw! I do live in the US… THANK YOU

  • Shane Parrino says:

Sabastion always has great reviews. Temperature outside is key with these types of fragrances. Appreciate the details and the comparable to original Layton.

  • oldandsmelly says:

I live in the US and I liked Sebastian’s descriptions of the notes, he gave a very good impression of how the fragrance works. And I liked his term “freshie”. Good one, Im going to use it. I have not tried the original Layton and I do not have any favorites from Parfums de Marly.

  • Frank Gambina says:

I enjoyed how Sebastian compared exclusif to the original and how the new one has the civet note in it which gives it that oriental vibe which peeps my interest. The bottle is a work of art just like it’s predecessor. Very nice eye candy.

  • I love this house. The scent and presentation is on point.
    Perfect weather for this scent.

Will love to win this giveaway.

    In US.

  • Arthur Phillips says:

Always great content. I look forward to Sebastian’s take on fragrances. I’m definitely a fan of the original and hope to try it’s new flanker in the very near future!

  • Watching Sebastian’s review on Layton exclusif has literally sold me on getting this fragrance. As he describes ,its a good fragrance for the fall/winter. I watched many reviews of exclusif on deciding whether I should get this fragrance, and so happened to stumble on his video, with a giveaway no less haha. So what I liked is how he gives the price, notes, and concentration. I also liked how he describes the notes as well as giving us the difference between exclusif and the original while throwing in his opinion and thoughts about the fragrance.

  • I always love Sebastian’s reviews. I feel like I want to buy every fragrance he reviews! I have never tried owned any of this house but I have smelled some and I love! Really great quality!

  • Tom Schroeder says:

I enjoyed Sebastian’s description of Layton Exclusif as more of a colder weather scent. I fully agree; Exclusif is spicier than Layton and seems distinctly different to me. I recently obtained a decant of Exclusif and am enjoying wearing it in the fall weather. I also really like Herod and Oajan from PdM. — San Jose, California

  • Has excellent taste when it comes to fragrances. He has a very practical and straight to the point approach with reviewing fragrances and every friggin said he’s recommended I have really enjoyed. Layton is one of my favorite fragrances from the house, and now that the season is changing I’m really excited to try Layton exclusif!

  • I love parfums de marly fragrances. I own herod and have tried layton and oajan which are both great. I Have heard great things about layton exclusif and would love to own this. Hope I win!

  • I can watch Sebastian’s reviews all day. I love how he describes fragrances. This one sounds really nice. I’d love to try it because I’ve never tested out any Parfums de Marly.
    I live in the U.S.

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

Thanks for the spotlight review, Sebastian is the best and I hope I can win this since I’m a fan of pdm. I would love to try the new Layton.

  • I enjoy Sebastian’s review as it is short and concise. Often times reviewers babble on too much but this was great. I’ve sadly never tried any of the PdM frags, hoping for this to be my first!

  • PDM is one of my favorite house and in fact my very first niche bottle was Godolphin which I still truly enjoy. Been wanting to test Layton for a very long time now. Perhaps skipping straight to the Exclusif one is not such a bad idea since it is an improvement from the perfect original as what Seb says. Would love to win the giveaway. Thanks, Seb and Cafleurebon!

  • VacanzaItaliana says:

The fact that Sebastian says that this version of Layton is an improvement on an ready amazing fragrance in the original form makes me want to try it ALL THE MORE. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Seb is always so knowledgeable, and so thorough with his reviews. It’s so hard to imagine scents but the way he talks about the notes and the way a perfume smells you get a good idea what you’re going to get your nose on!

  • Devicemanager says:

Hello users and Cafleurebon my name is Cesar i live in Miami and here in a hot climate city everyone wears fresh scents day and night i have a sample of Layton from the Nordstrom store and i know when it first came out the fragrance community said that the scent was too designer but i never thought of it that way i really enjoyed my sample and got great reactions from girls in the club and even at a fair on one of the rides before it took off sitting next to me a girl was like OMG what are you wearing yes so it does garnish compliments and lots of them.
When PDM released this exclusif of Layton i had to go into the store to smell it well it is the same scent with woodsy notes to me more use for night time so i also got me a sample and it is amazing i really like both but now am caught between both of them and what should i pull trigger on but Sebastians video made me decide on what to get but as for now i am really low on cash but would love to win this and it would be great for the colder days here in Miami .
thanks Sebastian for what you do and thank youo Cafleurebon for the chance to win this , fingers crossed.

  • I have watched Sebastian often and love his take on perfumes, including this one. I have never tried any perfumes from this house. thank you for the draw!

Love how excited Sebastian seems to be about this new fragrance, no doubt I’m confident this is a great scent. Sebastian’s review of the original Layton was excellent and had me anticipating getting my nose on more fragrances from Parfums De Marly. Based on Sebastian’s raving review of this one and it being an improvement on the original this is definitely a must get for my collection. Great job as always Seb!!! Connecticut, USA

  • I’m new to fragrances and not being aware of Parfums De Marly I looked for reviews I found on YouTube Sebastian, from Feeling Smelling Great. He was reviewing Parfums De Marly, Herods once I listen to this review I was convinced I wanted to try it. I purchased it blindly and did not regret my purchase. Now I know my go-to trusted individual will always be Sebastian. Great Job

  • Very interesting review!! I like Sebastian style of tallking about perfumes- simple, honestly)) Thanks! From Markt I like Herod and for woman Delina. from USA

I refuse to leave my pad without rocking a scent. If you ask me my man, this scent will undoubtedly get me in the hall of fame. Thanks for being honest in your review sir.Im tired of flamboyance from notably some famous reviewers,it’s just tacky to me.Peace & Love!

  • Jason Watson says:

I always wanted to try this one. Always wanted the original but couldn’t afford it. I would love to get this one in my hands. I love to smell good and with the notes I know it is awesome. God Bless
