New Perfume: Dita von Teese Erotique – Carnal Sensuality

dita von teese erotique

For our readers who were not at the Elements Showcase and are wondering why we all of us who attended flipped for Dita Von Teese’s upcoming perfume Erotique, it is because it is sexy as all get out.  Dita Von Teese's fourth perfume is a carnal blend of sensuality with an exquisite note of leather that evokes erotic with a nod to naughty. The composition is a tantalizing reflection of  arousement.

As Von Teese notes, "Erotique was created with my desire for something vastly distinct from most commercial fragrances. An elixir of alchemy, Erotique was inspired by a time when perfume meant something different than it does now. Vintage erotic books and art sparked my obsession with fetishistic elements, and for decades I've been fascinated with finding a scent that captures the carnality of those risqué erotic stories of the past.”

Erotique opens with opulent rose petals, accompanied by spicy, smoky pepper and unexpected coriander. In its depths, the heart of the fragrance develops with an exceptional magnetism. As the decadent essence of Bulgarian rose mingles with contrasting animalistic leather notes, the fascinating scent composition unfolds with stimulating musk, warm sandalwood, aromatic cedar and exotic Gaiac wood.

Von Teese continues, “I love beguiling facets of sexuality, from dominance to vulnerability, and Erotique is a heady mélange of opposites. Its poetic contrast of leather accords and burnt embers with rare voluptuous rose is not for the faint of heart; it is intoxicating, animalistic and intense, potent weaponry for a maestra of the erotic arts"

I can barely wait for my first sniff. Does that sound naughty? I suppose that’s appropriate in this instance!

I love that there’s finally a smart and truly sexy celebrity scent, and it makes sense that it’s from her, as Manson is one of the smartest celebrities out there (based on his being the lone voice of reason in “Bowling for Columbine”).

Thanks (or maybe not) for the continuing perfume inspiration. Lusting after too many scents as of late because of you folks at Cafleurebon!

  • OMG you guys are killing meeeeee! I can’t wait for October to buy blind! I know it will be fantastic, like the other 3.

Is she currently linked to Marilyn Manson? *shudder*
I thought she is romantically involved with a Frenchman, for some time. That’s why she created her original scent, because his mother wore Quelques Fleur and that was what she worse for so long.

  • Santa will absolutely be putting this to my stocking!

I love that she does 20 ml sizes, and those lay-down flacons are awesome.

  • Your article has attracted my interest. I haven’t tried her other perfumes, I just know she was with Marilyn Manson at some point in the past. Definitely worth a try, the perfumes are quite affordable. Thanks! 🙂

  • Who would have thought a celebrity fragrance was on my to-sniff list? All her fragrances sound worth a sniff based on the reviews and the bottles look good too.

  • I have not tried any DVT perfumes, but this one is now on my list. Who am I to turn down a sexy scent? Besides, she looks like she’s an expert.
