New Fragrance: Prudence Paris Polisson “Two Wild and Crazy Canines”

Rocco Bliss

Hello everyone my name is Rocco Bliss and I am taking over my Daddy’s regularly scheduled review because today we are going to write about Perfume for Pooches..

When my Daddy went to Milan for this big perfume Expo, Esxence the Scent of Excellence he came back and he had gifts for everyone. For Mommy he got her a Royal Wedding chew toy. They kept calling it a tea towel but we all know it is a chew toy. Then he said he had something for me. I was hoping for a new toy or maybe a bone but he pulled out this box and said this very nice lady made a perfume for poodles. He called it Prudence Paris Polisson. I was thinking to myself I would rather have had a toy but this might be good, too.

As all of you who own pets and perfume know if you’re spraying it in the morning chances are we’re wearing it that day too. Daddy generally has good taste, except for that one time he sprayed something called Secretions Magnifique. I didn’t smell too magnifique and all the girls and girl dogs stayed away from me that day. My chat buddy Enzo Ferrari (EIC Michelyn Camen’s  'New' Yorkie) and I have talked about this a lot and one thing we have noticed is when we get sprayed the liquid makes our skin all dried out and itchy. Trust me my friends,  when you’re as cute as Enzo and I are, sitting and scratching like crazy really cramps our style. We’re used to getting the scratching, not giving it.

Anyway I curled up in my favorite intelligence gathering position and listened to Daddy tell Mommy about Polisson. He said it comes from a perfume maker called Prudence Paris and Prudence consulted her veterinarian on what would be the best formulation for us. She created an all-natural eau de perfume with notes of cypress, thyme, geranium, and eucalyptus. You can see that these are the kind of notes that put a springy fresh bounce in my step. Prudence definitely knows what she is talking about because when it is sprayed on I’m not itching and I am ready to charm both the two-legged and four-legged girls at doggie day care. I want to give a shout out to my favorite girl Nikki she feeds me dried sweet potato when I give her the old paw in the air trick, works every time.

Polisson doesn’t last a real long time on our fur but you can sure smell it when it is on me. It also works on my cat friends, too.

I have to say that I’m glad I finally have my own signature fragrance. I’m going to have to share with Enzo the next time we hit the park scene in NYC. We will be two wild and crazy canines!

Disclosure: This review was based on a sample of Polisson my daddy got at Esxence from Prudence Paris.

P.S.: Mark here; I also wanted to mention Prudence Paris Steuart, her masculine fragrance. This has a lovely ginger and jasmine heart which is quite refreshing. Which just goes to show that Prudence can make pretty nice fragrance for the two-legged, as well. Please leave a comment on Rocco, Enzo, and if your pet is a Perfumisto and we'll go fetch.

  • Too cute to cuddle! Though my German Shepherd (Le Tigre) isn't as sheepish about his preferences. He runs away faster from a dept store version (yes, I still spritz the occasional Bvlgari) than when he sees his treat toy filled to the brim. Must find his a more masculine scent in two shakes of a tail.

  • So cute and i agree, we truly should not use human fragrances on our animals, as it does dry out their skin. There are fragrances for pets adn if you want your pooch or kitty to smell lovely i would suggest that route. And all natural is probably the best way to go………i love great smelling critters 🙂

  • My male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Teddy  is a natural perfume aficionado he particularly likes fresh herbaceous scents. I literally have to pry him away when I try any all natural perfumes. On the other hand the more mainstream the perfume the more he sneezes and  runs the other way.

  • My two border Terrier boys loves Musc ravageur on me. AND l ómbre fauve. They have good taste.

  • With a name like Enzo Ferrari, a nice masculine fragrance is a must! It’s always difficult to find a pooch fragrance that doesn’t smell strong and doesn’t make the pooch itchy.

  • What a great idea…Dogs should have there own special fragrance. It's offensive to me when they smell like their owners…tacky, tacky.
I enjoyed the article and loved  little Enzo M( I'm partial to  Yorkies).

  • Oh, you had me at the poodle.  I haven't had a dog for years (except for some temporary rescues that I fostered), but my 10 lb poodle Roxy would have loved Enzo F.  Being French, she of course loved a little Chanel No. 5 dabbed behind her ears.
