New Fragrance: Passerelle By Tommi Sooni

As Steven Broadhurst hinted to Managing Editor Mark Behnke in our Behind the bottle Series a new fragrance by the luxe Australian Perfumery will be released this month. Named  Passerelle (French for bridge, cat walk or gang plank) it is Tommi Sooni's perfumed bridge between the cultures of Australia and France. The Perfumer is Brett Schittler who composed the inaugral line.

Fragrance notes include: lemon scented myrtle, black pepper, yellow freesia, murraya, green boronia buds, Australian silver wattle (mimosa), coastal tee tree, native Australian jasmine, tolu, petigrain, civet and sandalwood.

Passerelle will be released in May 2012.

Editor's Note: I have no idea if Monet's famous painting Passerelle sur le Bassin aux Nympheas will evoke the perfume, but I loved the painting and the colors of many of the natural ingredients seem to fit…and is that a nymph on the bottle?

I love the concept of the local silver wattle, boronia, and jasmine, it sounds heavenly!

  • Hmmm definitely sounds interesting. Green boronia Buds, not even sure what those are but will look it up. Must sample this one when it comes out.

  • Claudia I think Boronia is a lemon scented flower that is native to Australia they are said to have a sweet floral citrus perfume
There is a town outside of Melbourne named Boronia
Many natural perfumers use the extrait

  • Oh my, this sounds as gorgeous as the painting looks.

And that may be a nymph with a taste for diamonds!

Love the name, the notes and the bottle! And a beautiful pairing of fragrance with art as Monet (whose works are ubiquitous in my favorite museum, Musee D”Orsay) seems to be the perfect match for this fragrance!
