New Fragrance: Limited Edition Corps & Ames Apaisante EDT “Parfumerie Generale Celebrates 10 Yrs”

Parfumerie Generale celebrates its 10th year anniverary with a limited edition scent that is a "reworking" of Perfumer Pierre Guillaume's 2006 floral chypre- Corps et Ames. The new fragrance is called Corps et Ames Apaisante EDT (apaisante means soothing or calming in French; corps et armes means body and soul). Other than the name, this is a very different fragrance. It is brighter, more luminous and a decidedly feminine reorchestration of the original's chypre accord.

Whereas Corps et Ames 2006 was centered around notes of immortelle and Melati wood and has a decidely dark, vintage vibe, Corps et Ames Apaisante evokes the most beautiful woman in the world frolicking in a sunny aromatic garden. There are no hard edges. If you are looking for a voluptous chypre for warm weather -this is perfection. Since April is National Poetry Month, it could easily be the scent worn by Helen of Troy in Homer's Iliad.

Evelyn De Morgan

Notes: Geranium leaves, verbena, patchouli, jasmine sambac, sandalwood and serenolide (a musk aromachemical developed by Givaudaun).

CaFleureBon honored Pierre Guillame as Perfumer of the Decade for 2011

Corpes et Ames 2012 can be purchased on www.parfumeriegenerale.com

Disclosure: I received a bottle of Corps et Ames Apaisante from M. Guillaume.

  • I liked the original Corpes et Ames eventhough it did have a darker vibe. This one sounds amazing and a must add to my collection as i am a huge PG fan 🙂

This sounds so lovely, I’ve tried only a few PG fragrances and I was smitten with each of them.

  • This one is definitely going on my “to try” list. It does sound like a wonderful spring/summer scent.

I am a big fan of Parfumerie Generale and own quite a few
Limited edition? Pierre Guillaume? I am so there
Of course Helen of Troy would wear a chypre wasn’t Aphrodite who started the whole affair from the waters of Cyprus

  • Who wouldn’t want to wear a perfume that is described in this way? “the most beautiful woman in the world frolicking in a sunny aromatic garden”
