Kilian Hennessy has a unique elegance and aesthetic that is clearly reflected in his fragrance collections and his own personal style. You can always spot a By Kilian perfume in any of the many specialty stores where his line is offered.  While other niche brands head to Nolita or Madison Avenue, Kilian Hennessy will open his first boutique in the United States, situated at 804 Washington Street in the heart of the Meatpacking District in New York City, which is known for its high end designer boutiques such as Diane Von Furstenburg and Helmut Lang as well as luxe specialty shoppes and restaurants.

The US flagship will be decorated in Kilian’s chic black and white aesthetic, this new boutique will be an eclectic blend of art deco inspiration and downtown industrialism. Kilian left both the exposed brick wall and high ceilings intact to maintain the authentic structure of this Meatpacking landmark, yet painted them in high sheen finishes to add luxury and elegance.

All the furniture, specially designed for the brand, will be made-to-measure for the boutique. This includes a pair of silk and metal ceiling lights made in Japan, a black and white silk carpet manufactured in Nepal, and a set of two armchairs and one sofa made in cotton and lacquered wood, adorned with beautiful cushions.

Within the boutique, each space will have its own focus, reflecting the individual personality of each product category. Kilian was personally involved in the decor and the design details:

  • I’m so jealous. I live in Oklahoma City and we have no niche stores of all these great fragrances. If and when I travel to NY, I will need to try and visit. At the moment I have to rely on the internet to get these beauties. Love Love Love Kilian. Looks like an absolutely beautiful store. Congrats. I will admire from afar.

  • This kinda cracks me up. Lived right there in the 70’s through 90’s. . .and I can tell you, even in the late 90’s which Florent in the neighborhood and all, well. . .I’m gobsmacked.

Nonetheless, I’ll visit when I’m next in NYC!
