Jeroboam Vespero (Vanina Murraciole) 2017 ~Fragrance Review + Musk after Dusk Draw

Jeroboam extraits de parfums photo by Sebastian

While at Esxence 2015, I was poking my nose around the Jovoy booth while I chatted up Francois Henin, (aka the owner of the renowned Jovoy boutiques and the Jovoy Perfume Brand). From the corner of my eye I spotted an opaque black flacon with the word Jeroboam etched in gold. It was there that the inaugural 12 extraits was shown to buyers.

.The name Jerobaum was derived from the universal language called Esperanto. Every scent in the collection explores musk and its many facets; all are composed by Vanina Muracciole.

Sebastian says Vespero smelled earthy and woody so he was quite surprised by the notes which included fruity and floral notes. He reports the perfumer is the same who also created Jovoy’s Incident Diplomatique. I have heard of Jeroboam before, I believe through Sebastian for the first time. I am in US.

  • Sebastian always makes me want to run out and buy a fragrance he reviews! This one sounds nice – earthy. I’ve never heard of this perfume house before but after watching his review, I’d definitely like to try their scents.

    I live in the U.S.

  • I enjoyed how he easily gave the note breakdown and exactly when to wear the fragrance. I’ve never heard of Jeroboam. I live in the USA!

  • Always like Sebastians videos. This one intriguise me mostly because of the musk factor, but for some reason the darkness of the bottle. Makes me think I’m in for a luxurious aroma. Plus it’s an extract de parfum! This would be my first in that category if I win. California.

  • Nadine Cunningham says:

Jeroboam is a line of fragrances I’ve never heard about. So thanks to Sebastian it’s another line I’d like to get my nose on. Love the fact that this seems to be quit potent and a great compliment getter. Thanks again Seb for your great review and always exposing me to different and unpopular fragrances:)

  • What I loved about Sebastian’s video on Jerobaum was the fact that he said that this Musk and Cedarwood based perfume starts of fruity! That to me is remarkable, being the actual perfume is quite Musky. I like also the fact that Sebastian said it’s uniqueness will lead you to conversations with random people, that shows how it attracts connoisseurs like myself who truly appreciate luxury fragrances. Also, it is much overdue for me to have this fragrance in my City here in Houston, since we don’t get much of a Winter ❄️. Also, I do collect Oudh and I don’t have any Musks, so definitely need this as my centerpiece perfume

  • Love to have this one from the musk collection, “…Vespero being one of the more sensual of the range…”. I have yet to try this house’s offerings. US

  • First time hearing of this house but I’m a long time fan of Jovoy, so this should be a treat. I’m intrigued to hear Sebastian say that there is a secret vetiver at work here. I’ve always considered vetiver to be a complex and pungent note, I’d love to see how it works as an essence more than a presence. Vespero sounds like the perfect package! Living in the US

  • I liked the very detailed description of the fragrance and the notes in the fragrance. Florida USA

  • I think the aople ans dark musk in this will be a great combo. Like how excited sebastion is about these feagrances. From oklahoma

  • Patrick Echevarria says:

Love the top notes….and hearing from Sebastian that it smells like it’s got vetiver,my favorite note, makes me think that I’ll appreciate this as well even though it does not have vetiver officially. Haven’t tried any from this house and this one interests me a lot! San Diego

  • Roger Engelhardt says:

I am a huge fan of Jovoy’s Private Label, have been since its inception!
I have heard of Jeroboam but have never sampled anything in their line. When someone, in this case Sebastion, mentions musk, I immediately perk up!!
Not so concerned about compliments, if I like it, I compliment myself!!
    I am in the USA.

  • Sebastian always reviews scents I am interested in. So I value his input. Due to his reviews I have purchased 6 bottles. I just ordered a sample of Vespero and it smells awesome. Reminds me of Scent of Peace for men by Bond No.9. I do want this bottle.

  • This one sounds nice. Thanks for this giveaway
I haven’t heard of Jeroboam. Sebastian always introduces us to
    New Frgrances

  • Never heard of Jeroboam, but I’ve heard of Jovoy; am delighted that these are selling in 30 ml bottles and at not-crazy prices! Am going to watch Sebastian’s other reviews of these.

I always enjoy his reviews. It was interesting that he thought there was vetiver in it but none was. I’d like to check this one out for sure. To me, it sounded like he was describing a perfect Fall in New England scent.

    In the US

  • Sebastian is one of my favorite reviewer. He is very expierienced and educated in a topic. His descriptions of fragrances are on point! I have not tried anything from that house. I am from illinois.

  • As always Sebastian does it again! The composition of this fragrance sounds wonderful! With green apple and musks… Jerobaum Vespero as stated is an afternoon to evening scent. THANK YOU for this review and I would LOVE to try this creation… I do live in the US… Southern Illinois

  • I liked Sebastian’s review of this since it opened me up to an entirely new scent and a new line of scents. I enjoy nice and I’m working my way into collecting more of them. I always find his explanations and impressions of the notes to be unique and easy to relate to. He makes some intimidating fragrances, approachable.

  • The idea of Green apples and musk sound very very interesting, as Sebastian said. I’ve never tried anything from this house so this would be a great place to start. I love musky scents. Thank you guys btw…for all these giveaways.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review since he breaks down the notes in an approachable and understandable way. I stated this earlier in my comment. I was not familiar with Jerobaum prior to his post and review. As I said Niche is something I’m working on integrating into my collection. I also was interested by what Sebastian stated about Musks being the reason that he feels the compliments are received. I’m from Hagerstown, Maryland!

  • I’m brand new to fragrances so I’m just starting my collection. This one sounds unique and like something I’d really enjoy.

  • Luis Chavez says:

I really loved the way Sebastian described this perfume! And Fall is the best time to rock a scent with green apple and Musk,It’ll be amazing to have the chance to try it!!

  • I blindbought Vespero and was rather disappointed. It shares certain notes with Micallef’s “Royal Vintage” (citric/fruity opening, woody notes, patchouly & musk), but isn’t as pleasant or modern as the mentioned. Vespero contains a strong note of old leather (not animalic), which kind of hides some of the other notes. It isn’t as fresh as I hoped for & seems to be made in the style of 70s/80s & is a bold, masculin scent with a little soapy vibe, as well. More for the 40+ guys.

  • Cesar Caballero says:

Jeroboam Vespero is excellent i smelled it at a store here in Miami and i fell in love with it they are very well blended and put little on my wrists and i could smell the apple and grapefruit all the way threw and it had its stages on the dry down pretty amazing stuff as always Sebastian delivers a excellent review becuase the way he describes it thanks you Cafleurebon for chance to win this incredible scent that brings joy to my soul 🙂

  • I would like to be entered in the vespero giveaway. Sebastian always reviews houses that I am not familiar with. Without him I would have never heard of this brand. I’m in the United States, New York.

  • I have never heard of Jeroboam! I like Sebastian’s breakdown of notes and he seems to review things I don’t know about. I live in the US. Thanks!

  • Frank Gambina says:

What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s video is how he described what types of notes he picked up from this fragrance. Even though he picked up vetiver and vetiver wasn’t a note in this particular fragrance it goes to show how interesting and amazing fragrances can be when certain notes are combined. It has been known in perfumery how certain ingredients like frankincense for example are expensive in the market and used in certain fragrances. So if we know that certain combinations of ingredients can “pull off” the trick of creating certain notes which aren’t in the fragrance profile then that’s pretty amazing in itself. Not to mention I would think companies would save a lot of money which could be used for other aspects of the “creation” process. I’ve never tried the fragrances from this house but would love to. I enjoy anything that has musk and apple in it. I would love to be entered in the Jeroboam giveaway. I’m from New York, USA.

  • I would say I like Sebastian reviews, they are right on the target and he gives you what you need in a few minutes.
I never tried any perfume from the house. Glad to got familiar with the brand.
Thanks to Jose Penalba of Amerikas and Cafleurebon for the opportunity.
    I am in the US.

  • I have quite a few Jovoy frags but did not know about jeroboamperfume
I like musk and it sound very good with a fruity opening that gets darker.usa

  • Tom Schroeder says:

I enjoyed how Sebastian describes Jeroboam Vespero getting darker as it transitions into the wood and leather heart and base notes over time with ambery musk, and how it would be a good fragrance to apply in the afternoon before going out for the evening. I enjoy fragrances that transition on a journey like this, which is part of the magic of excellent perfumery. I am not familiar with Jeroboam or Jovoy fragrances, and look forward to putting my nose on them. I live in San Jose, California, USA.

  • Love Sebastian’s reviews! The green apple sounds interesting with musk. I like that it’s a compliment getter and extremely long lasting. Good to know you can apply this in the afternoon and it later turns into an evening scent. My favorite from this line is Miksado. I love that they do the 30ml size because the concentration is such that you only need a spritz, two tops. Also the portability that Sebastian touched on is a plus. You don’t really need to reapply, but good for taking on vacation. Thanks Sebastian!

  • I love the way he describes the notes of the fragrance. I could almost smell it. I have heard of the house, but have not had the pleasure of smelling any of them. Please enter me in the giveaway. I live in Texas, USA.

  • Sounds like an intriguing morphing scent. I love how it changes through the day. You have to love fragrances that tell a story – that morph, transform and keep you and those around you interested. Sounds like a nice patchouli/musk scent for the upcoming Fall! I am not familiar with this brand, but from the review this is the one I would enjoy owning. I live in the USA. Wonderful review – thank you.

  • As usually I enjoyed Sebastian’s video-review. Sebastian said that this perfume same time are happy and same time with dark heart- very intrigued. The perfume pyramid sounds very interesting- apple, woods and patchouli!! Mmmm…. !!!
I tested all Jerobaom perfumes- very intense and musky, not groundbreaking, but enjoyable. Mostly I like Miksado- nice, very intense oud perfume with very good longevity.

  • Rafael Campusano says:

The note breakdown sounds excellent. This sounds perfect for the fall/winter. I’m not too familiar with the this house but I will start to look into Jerobaom. I live in USA, New York!!!

  • Ray Schaper says:

Sebastian does a fine job describing how the scent evolves over time. Makes you want to go on that journey. I would like to win this bottle!

  • Sebastian stated that the fragrance was all about the cedar, leather, patchouli, and apple. It sounds lovely. I love trying scents marketed toward men. I will love to win. I live in California, USA.

  • Seb mentioned that Vespero has Apple note and some sort of Vetiver smell which I both like and made me curious about it. I have tried Jeroboam on test strips and they surely are potent. I can still smell them on the test strips after 1 week! California.

  • I liked hoe Sebastian provided examples of when to wear this fragrance! Haven’t heard of Jeroboam but I’m intrigued by any fragrance that would be suitable for cocktails at a bar. I’m in New Hampshire.

  • What I like about the review is the details provided.
He covers all aspects of the perfumes.

I am so interested in this one as this can wear from day to night. That’s a big transition to be done smoothly. Will love to experience it.

    In Washington state.

  • As always Sebastian’s review is great, the description how the scent is smelling like is unique and perfect as always.I know Jovoy, as I understood correctly, the sister brand of Jeroboam. I haven’t try any perfumes from this particular brand. I have address in Huston, TX

  • The fruit and musk notes sound like an interesting combo. I’m not a huge vlog fan but I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews because he is low key and it is all about the perfume! Plus I can learn from him how to pronounce things properly. 🙂

  • Sebastian has brought many great perfumes to our attention !! The main reason I watch his review is because his impeccable taste of perfume. Love all his top 10 perfumes classifying by the notes. anI’m not familiar with Jeroboam at all, but would love a chance to try it. IL, USA

  • Love Looking Great Smelling Great on FB! Sebastian, thank you for always including the notes along with how it smells, wears, and what reactions you get. I found that Hauto also draws a lot of compliments, didn’t occur to me it might be the musk they use–thought it was just that tuberose really works for me. Would love to win this as I thought I couldn’t wear vetiver but have just been proven wrong by a delightful German perfumer at Tigerlily in SF. Would love to try Jerobaum’s version! Thanks for entering me in the contest. San Francisco, CA

  • cedar, geranium, woods, and musk — what is not to love? this sounds like a line-up of all my current favorite notes. not familiar with the house, but would love to try this one. (what actually caught my attention most was the written headline” musk after dusk. 🙂 usa.

  • doveskylark says:

I like the idea of compliments leading to discussion. I also hope they might possibly lead to something more….I love the idea of an evening fragrance that starts off with a juicy green apple. Then we proceed to the woody notes and then the musk. It sounds like an amazing progression.
I haven’t tried anything from this line, but I dream of visiting the Javoy store in Paris.
    I live in the USA.
