Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale Review + Impetuous Passion Draw

Forbidden Love, James Robert Lee

We always long for the forbidden things, and desire what is denied us.  Francois Rabelais

Francesca Bianchi is no “ordinary perfumer’, hence my attraction to her as a Creatress and to her body of Art. A true translator and purveyor of the deeper senses, she brings tangible substance to the ethereal states, which we can be blessed or cursed with. I resonate with this; and it is evident in Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale.Actual circumstances, states of mind and intuitions fraught with a troubling, sensorial, emotional or spiritual meaning are the source of my inspiration. These are my epiphanies. I am not interested in merely copying their smell, but in conjuring them up and at the same time, expressing the emotional thrill I experience during these epiphanic occurrences.

With extraordinary dexterity and precise in her revelation, Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale, released in 2018, solidifies the exquisiteness of attraction, how it is undeniable, addictive and pervasive in its pleasure. Forbidden or not, it is bound to be expressed, there is no alternative.

Unknown artist

Do you recall moments in life, delectable moments that seemed to stretch forever, teased out in precious threads, pearlescent strands of desire.   How the heat of eyes that speak, and the urgency to feel the other in your arms as sweet torture in the blood. Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale is a distillation of the surrender in uncompromised addiction, one to the other in consensually.

Holly Burns Photography Paramour Number 1

How I am courted by the eyes that glance, Bergamot flashing with an unspoken language pungent with a strength, which hangs suspended in the space between bodies, like dew drops of a promise, enticed by the slow, viscosity of Honey, it resides in sensuous tendrils traversing the untouched expanse. The lightest sprinkling of powdery, intoxicating Mimosa is mischievous and invites a continuance, with a pounding heart. For even tenuous bodies in close proximity delight in every motion that is felt without touch.

Iris Huber, Ansictsweise Photography

Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale is palpable tension unbounded, where physicality is forbidden, the unseen takes flight in a full rein of seductive airs that break taboos. I am spoken to without utterance of voice, in whispered tones that despite their hushed breath are voluminous, surging through vein and sinew to heat embers, the impact of nuanced gesture conveying all. How lacklustre our present time permissiveness seems in the wake of remembered times when secrets had to be hidden and desires barely contained spilled out of arranged formality, like ample proportions overspilling a bodice.

Isabella Blow Nick Knight

Words tumble, uninhibited silent breaths full of unspoken vows and invited liaisons. Intentions set with no chance of reversal, inevitability is a certainty. The sublimity of Bulgarian Rose in intimacy with an Iris Butter that is akin to the state of heightened enthral. Languorous Heliotrope and opulent Peach coexist in a rapture. Not quite brushing of lips, in yearning, loiter, the slow-motion quality of timelessness, where the rest of the world has ceased, only the two are in existence, the only two drawing breath as one, the cocoon is primacy.

Daria Endresen, Protection

To feel the quiescence, as in those moments we become all flesh, all inspiration. Scented breath alighting lips, feathered fingertips that brush with delicacy the skin, vehement urgencies subtle yet ever persistent. That sublime altered state, welded to the passion that engulfs and was always present in between glances and the language of bodies. Embodied in a textural unbridled Leather enriched with Castoreum in libidinous abandon, Labdanum, sweetly resinous, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Oakmoss, an earthly union that leaves no doubt as to the consequences of the tryst.

Il Rito, Roberto Ferri, 2016

In its lingering, it is the epitome of the lovers perfumed trace held in the senses long after the tryst is over and he has departed for the spheres of ordinary life. The miasma of stolen hours in lyrical persistence that I am reluctant to release, for depending on circumstance we know not when it shall arrive again if at all.  It is the sweetest, succulent devouring of every moment, aria by aria, in unfolding memory, to hold it in perpetuity and engrave it into my physical matter. I am breathless, no demure plaything, The Lovers Tale is beyond constraints. Notes: Bergamot, Honey, Mimosa, Egyptian Jasmin, Bulgarian Rose, Peach, Iris Butter, Heliotrope, Leather, Castoreum, Labdanum,  Sandalwood, Vetiver,, Oakmoss

Sample received with thanks at Pitti Fragranze, Florence 2018 from Francesca Bianchi

What appeals to me most about Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale based on Danu’s review is the detailed description of something so seductively beautiful, “a distillation of the surrender in uncompromised addiction”. A lady would never divulge the intimate details of a passionate love affair, but I will say that I am no stranger to love. I’m in the U.S.

  • fazalcheema says:

This seems like a velvety floral-leather creation that is unisex yet also has challenging elements to it. There are notes I really enjoy in perfume including iris, leather, and rose. I am in US.

  • Love Affair….my lips are sealed. Oh but the notes in this fragrance. It does
sound intimately indulgent. I am in the US

  • Symbian Pandora says:

I love Sex and the Sea! Have not sampled the others as of yet, but this since it’s release, has intrigued me.
This wonderful review has me now salivating!!!
    Bravo!!

  • What appeals to me about Lover’s Tale is the leather and floral combo. It sounds like a fragrance that pulls another in close. Great write up Danu! Arkansas, USA

  • Oh my goodness gracious. This sounds incredible, and the review is just making me breathless. I’m not one who kisses and tells. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the USA

  • Each and every Francesca Bianchi fragrance up until The Lovers Tale is sexually oriented , so i’m not surprised one bit by this review. There is something lustful , naughty in all of her creations plus the usual slightly animalic feel. I presume that a must for Francesca Bianchi .Sex and the Sea to me smells like 2 new lovers bodies , after applying heavy dose of suntan lotion , and having a long sex marathon on the beach.
Price is great – all of the her creations are with great longevity , projection and sillage.Interesting house – no doubt , but sampling first is a MUST ! Francesca Bianchi fragrances are artisanal with top performance , but you need to be either connoisseur , to love daring smells , or to wear fragrances for your own plesure. They are not meant to be crowd pleasers . Never blind buy .
I do own the best one imo from the company – The Dark Side.
Passionate love affair? I presume you all know George Benson – Give Me The Night 🙂

Thank you for the opportunity .

Wow! “Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale is palpable tension unbounded, where physicality is forbidden, the unseen takes flight in a full rein of seductive airs that break taboos.” What an amazing review! And the artwork chooses to go with it really draws you in! How could you not want to try this?! Thanks for the opportunity! I’m in the US.

  • Though not all of my perfumes are sensual and erotic, I am always curious how others represent sexuality in fragrance form. This sounds very appealing and includes many notes I love. I am in the US and, yes, thankfully, I have experienced a passionate love affair!

  • Monica Beaton says:

Oh Danu & Michelyn – such beauty and passion in words and vision. Capturing passion in a bottle is the stuff of witchcraft and it sounds as though Francesca has created something magical. I’ll be seeking a sample. I live in Australia – not eligible.

  • From what I read, this one is going to be very sensuous. The notes make me think that it might lean a little to the feminine side, but then again, maybe not.

I have been in more than one very passionate love affair,

    I live in Canada.

  • Lovers perfume trance appeals to me for sure. I don’t have an animalic leather fragrance so this one sounds perfect. It is extract so I imagine something beastly. Would love to experience that flashing bergamot too. Thanks, I am in Germany

  • Interesting combination of animalic and soft notes here! Leather, castoreum, mimosa and heliotrope. It’s like two worlds collide.

  • Oh wow! Thanks for this great article. With the introduction of Francesca Bianchi starting as no ordinary perfumer, a true translator and purveyor of the senses and continuing with the description of this scent as – ‘With extraordinary dexterity and precise in her revelation, Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale, released in 2018, solidifies the exquisiteness of attraction, how it is undeniable, addictive and pervasive in its pleasure. Forbidden or not, it is bound to be expressed, there is no alternative.”, how can one not be captured by the sensuality of the notes.?! it is wonderful to hear all your beautiful comments, always the reason d’etre of any writer is to give a form to the formless, to convey in words, a touch of the Heart and Soul of the Perfumer and their creation. Thank you for seeing The Lovers Tale with such clarity through my words.

  • The entire review was beautifully written. I couldn’t pick one sentence or thought that I liked the best. The Lovers’ Tale sounds like a beautiful, seductive scent. I would love to try it.

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

Amazing….what an extra-ordinary review & I love its rhythm from the start to the end of the article.”Words tumble, uninhibited silent breaths full of unspoken vows and invited liaisons. Intentions set with no chance of reversal, inevitability is a certainty” a perfect sentence. I have “The Dark Side” of her creation and enjoy wearing it. I believe in love & still in love affairs with my wife & family.
Thanks for the generosity & opportunity for the draw by letting my relative address in NY, US.

  • I have never been in a passionate love affair. I think the review was beautiful and with the right choice of words. It captures the perfume as being sensual which I like.
    I live in California.

  • What appeals me the most in this review what the way each note is explained and contextualized in the view of Francesca Bianchi. Magnificent perfumer she is and I admire her work very much. The sensuality and erotism of fragrances when used in intimate encounters was the thing that hooked me to collecting and getting to know more fragrances and the emotions each ignited in me and my couple.
Not gonna lie, I would very much like to win this draw as I think this fragrance resonates with my personality at this moment of my life and since I have Sex and The Sea by Francesca Bianchi too. I so love her work and this would be a gem to read in my skin. So exited.

Thanks for the draw I’m at the USA.

  • What appeals to me? To be honest, the writing. What a beautiful review and so enjoyable to read. Any fragrance with “libidinous abandon” is going to be amazing.

Thanks for the draw. I am in PA, USA.

  • Dorian Fischer says:

What a great review, written with so much passion. I really like leather and rose so this might be perfect for me, even though this might lean more on the feminin side. And if Not I am sure my girlfriend would enjoy this one, or maybe de both can 🙂 And yes she is also my passionate love affair !
Thanks for the giveaway, I live in Austria.

  • What a beautiful sensous review! Lover’s Tale is one of the new releases from 2018 I am most interested with and after reading the review I know I must test it. I like when Danu writes that Francesca is „a true translator and purveyor of the deeper senses, she brings tangible substance to the ethereal states, which we can be blessed or cursed with”. I am pretty sure I would resonate with it as well. I don’t know any of Francesca Bianchi creations yet but have big expectations. Sultry, musky, animalic perfumes go just right up my alley and I guess that Francesca manages to keep some kind of intimacy and vulnerability without being too shy and too dirty on the other hand. She speaks „in whispered tones that despite their hushed breath are voluminous”. I would love to win Lover’s Tale to experience „the slow-motion quality of timelessness, where the rest of the world has ceased,”.
    I live in the EU.

  • patrick_348 says:

I like the way the review works to try to convey the complexity of the fragrance, Danu seems to be striving to convey not just the notes of the fragrance, but a sense of what the experience of wearing it might be. I am in North Carolina in the US.

  • The drydown of this sounds marvelous with resinous notes and sandalwood and oakmoss. I love these notes and it sounds languorous and Yum. I am in the USA

  • Danu has such a breathless way of describing this lover’s tale. I would love to be swept away in its beauty

  • Hmm an erotic , sensual floral leather perfume. I’ve heard good things about a few of her fragrances im dying to try .This creation has a plethora of wonderful notes that together im sure gives smells fantastic 🙂 and definitely appeals to my taste….

Canada here..thanks for giveaway and great article

  • Danu always has a wonderful way of describing perfumes with so much passion. I love how Francesca Bianchi explores the sensuality and the sexuality of the human relationships in her perfumes.
Under my skin was another great review a few months ago.
I was particularly mesmerised by this phrase: ” Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale is palpable tension unbounded, where physicality is forbidden.
    Exceptional writing.
I tend to believe I’m having a love affair with my long term partner, being forever in love.
    I’m in the EU.
Thnak you for the wonderful review and the generous draw.

  • What appeals to me about Francesca Bianchi The Lovers Tale is the describing of the perfume being animalic. sensual and floral and leather. I believe I am in a love affair with Nursing School which I eat and sleep. I live in CA, USA.

  • Overall vibe this review gave me is like I’m listening one of my all time favourite song called “I Want Your Sex” by George Michael. I presume everyone knows it , Including Danu 🙂 Up until now I have never smelled Francesca Bianchi fragrances, but I will try to sample most in the future. Tnx for the giveaway. We’ve all been in love affairs , some just don’t want to admit it. Usa and also Germany from time to time

  • That was fantastic, Danu! I need a shower after that in a really good way…

That was, in my honest opinion the best perfume review I have read in a long long time…registered US reader here.

It was all quite titillating but “How the heat of eyes that speak, and the urgency to feel the other in your arms as sweet torture in the blood….” took me with the same seduction the parfum must surely possess to inspire such reflections.

    Yes please…

  • An excellent review by Danu! A Lover’s Tale sounds like the perfect floral and leather fragrance. It sounds very sensual and seductive. My favorite part was ” “a distillation of the surrender in uncompromised addiction”. Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Oh, maybe not, my time zones are off.. This is a lovely description with tumbling weekends to describe scents, which I always love! It sounds very sensuous and intimate, and add for passionate love affairs, i shall keep my own counsel, but let’s just say yes…. The play of notes and the bergamot which I always love. In the us, thank you for the draw and the really lovely review!
