For Fall 2015, CHANEL launched LES AUTOMNALES, which is one of their best collections in a few years. It may be high summer, but there are many warm toned lipsticks and shadows in LES AUTOMNALES that will work well right now. It’s often difficult to wear fall beauty when it’s 86 degrees. I will be working through most of the collection and today’ reviews are for JOUES CONTRASTES FARDS A JOUES POUDRE BLUSH in 260 ALEZANE and ROUGE ALLURE Luminous Intense Lip Color 162 Pensive.

First off, I am a CHANEL Lipstick addict, 26 and counting …but not a nude or neutral  shade among them. I feel like the Beauty blogger and three “bares”; one is too chalky, one doesn’t show and now with 160 Pensive one is just right. It seems every brand from drugstore to Luxury has been pushing nude, and I have had so much trouble finding a lipstick that works on my pigmented lips.

 Pensive is described as pink beige. On my warm complected skin, the color is midway between light petal pink and golden peach. As in all the reformulated Rouge Allure Intense lipsticks it gives excellent coverage, applies smoothly and lasts through lunch before I have to touch up. There is a slight shimmer, and sheen, both very subtle.  I have had to mix three lipsticks to achieve this color.  $36

CHANEL is not known for their blushes.  My loyalty has always been to Nars (Lovejoy) is a staple. CHANEL’s quality can’t be beat and 260 ALEZANE is my new favorite. AZELANE is described as shimmering brown pink, Don’t be put off by “shimmer” or “brown”, because it doesn’t go overboard on either.

 It is a warm medium light bronze with pink and brown  undertones with hint of gold shimmer particles.  If you are looking to fake a summer glow, “just back from vacation”, year round this is it. It is a fabulous color, and since Mme CHANEL poplularized tanning I wish she would have used this instead and generations of women would have spared their skin.  The texture is very fine, the color buildable. For comparison, Lovejoy is deeper with a bronze red tone and is best on tan or medium tan skin. AZELANE will work on even the fairest skin tones. $45

Why wait until September. Verdict? Buy both now. They are part of the permanent collection and available at chanel.com, and select CHANEL stockists. I don’t write this very often, but ALEZANE and PENSIVE should seriously be considered for a blind buy.
