Clairvoyance and Olfaction: Your Aura, Your True Self, Your Perfume by Guest Contributor Yosh Han

Intuition is intertwined with olfaction. The French verb “sentir” means both “to feel” and “to smell.” To ‘smell a winner’ or to ‘smell something fishy’ is to portend a fortuitous or ominous occurrence. Can emotions or atmospheric changes be detected by olfactory instinct in some way?

As an intuitive perfumer, my hope is to awaken or deepen the link between a person’s sixth sense and sense of smell. When a person smells a perfume that they really love, their whole body recognizes it as ‘Yes, this smells like Me!” (whether it is a present time Self or aspirational Self).

To me, whether a fragrance is natural or not, when a person smells a perfume they love, this positively affects their self-image, confidence and emotional well-being; their aura changes. When a person feels happy, they in turn generate more happiness in other areas in their life. We need more happy people on the planet!

Not only can perfume transform moods and emotions, fragrances possess the power to transport us to a different place and time–olfactory déjà vu or trans-aromation. Most people are attracted to my work because they are usually in a transformational place in their lives—whether they are celebrating a marriage, divorce or new career. The fragrance they create in a custom session or vibrational perfumery workshop is a memento of their alchemical experience. What I enjoy most is seeing people’s aura, the changes during a reading and how fragrance can enhance a person’s energy.

Yosh Han, Perfumer and Clairvoyant

Birthdays are another time for an aromatic attunement. On such an occasion did I have the opportunity to read CaFleureBon's Editor-in-Chief Michelyn Camen’s aura. A few months ago when it was her birthday, I gave her an energy check via telephone. Each reading is different depending on what is happening in a person’s life. Every clairvoyant has their own style of reading – much like a painter has their own way of expressing their vision. I have a specific technique that I use to read through each layer of the aura. Though I spent time reading each of Micheyln’s layers in her aura, I am only going to write about the fourth and fifth layers (that relate to the 4th chakra-affinity for oneself and 5th chakra-communication).

Painting: Gerhard Richter 509

What I saw was a hot pink color in these layers. There was also a grey and dark brown demand energy covering both layers. There was also a navy male punishment energy that was suppressing the hot pink. I also saw that Michelyn’s trans-medium channels were wide open – allowing a lot of spirits to affect her communication. When she is vibrating at pink she feels confident in herself and communicates well. Because of her open fifth chakra, this means she is well suited for a career in publicity. When the grey, brown and navy suppress the pink, it causes misunderstanding and miscommunication.

I then looked at which fragrances support the hot pink energy that allows Michelyn to be her true Self rather than dominated by the controlling demanding energy. From my collection, U4EAHH, with pomegranate, pear, cucumber, aloe and water lily was very soothing and inspiring for her. U4EAHH resonates with the fourth chakra. Each of my prêt-à-porter perfumes have a literary name as well as a unique numerical frequency based on fragrance family, chakra and numerology. When I went through each of the fragrances in my collection, Michelyn’s aura diminished or expanded depending on the fragrance I was looking at.

Two other perfumes I saw that invigorated Michelyn’s aura were from Vero Kern and by Killian. (She later revealed that she owns both). I can’t say why these two stood out, but both bottles were very clear in my mind’s eye. Perhaps with Vero Kern’s Rubj, the hot pink color was a direct match and the neroli and jasmine in the fragrance are great for the emotions. I don’t know all the names of the fragrances in the by Killian range, but it was one of the Love ones.

A fabulous perfume line that I recently discovered is April Aromatics (by natural perfumer Tanja Bochnig') 7 chakra perfume set.

Editor's Note: I am on my second bottles of Rubj by Vero Kern and Love by Kilian  (Don't be Shy) by Calice Becker. I also do not own anything navy blue; it is the one color I have always detested. I encourage our readers, especially those who are experiencing life changing events, or just want a "scent tune up", to contact Yosh for a reading in person, by skype or by phone. inquiries@eaudeyosh.com or 415-626-5385.

  • Scentual healing says:

I wear ginger ciao and have for years so when I saw yosh featured as a guest contributor I knew I wanted to read on
Some people think auras and energy is a lot of new age nonsense but as someone who has been studying the relationship between chakra energy and healing I assure you it is not
I never made the connection to perfume before only aromatherapy so yosh Han ‘s reading of Michelyn Camen was very interesting
Thank you I have book marked this to read again

  • When I was a kid I could see auras, but didn’t know it was unusual til I was older. By the time I got to my mid 20’s I couldn’t see them anymore. Very interesting post. I think I would enjoy a scent tune up.

  • Fascinating stuff, live-changing events or not, I should love to get a fragrant reading one day. I love that you can do that on skype, Yosh, brave new world indeed.

  • I really love the painting of Anca Costache, congratulations for posting it here!
The article is very interesting, I love it!
