Amouage Lyric Woman and Man ©

When Amouage Lyric Man and Woman debuted in 2008, this duo of Amouage roses was a surprise to many. Lyric Man smelled more "feminine" (fresh and jammy) and Woman smelled "spicier and more resinous".

Awesome review, for rhe way Sebastian describe lyric man and woman I would wear lyric men in the day and lyric woman at night!!

  • Chris Mr_Sillage says:

Being a confident man, I’ve looked into this Fragrance and didn’t think twice. There was a line drawn in the sand. One side beckoned to my masculine side, and the other I actually didn’t consider (Which is odd because I’m comfortable wearing feminine fragrances). Sabastian’s review lifted the Vail and revealed to me the elegance of EACH of these fragrances, which actually, now, both appeal to me for different reasons. I’m so happy that I watched this review. I wear what I want to wear ( favorite Fragrance marketed towards women is Tom Ford’s Black Orchid EDP). I would love to, hopefully one day, own both of these fragrances. Lyric Man would still be my first choice… But now I’m glad and excited to try both. Thank you SABASTIAN!

  • Sebastian has a way of explaining fragrances that make you want to out all of them. I feel like lyric woman would be more my go 2 as I don’t have any unique fragrances for colder nights.

  • fazalcheema says:

Sebastian confirms what I have learned about Amouage Lyric Man and Woman. The man version is kinda transparent soapy rose while the woman’s version has oriental feeling. The notes of both perfumes do not always reveal how they will smell. Sebastian also notes some find Man version to be on the feminine side and woman’s version on the masculine side which is not a bad thing. I have man’s version so my choice for this draw is Lyric Woman. My favorite Amouage is Gold for Woman. I wear fragrances marketed to both men and women and from every era. For instance, just few days ago I got Emir Dana and love it. I am in the US.

  • The quality of rose in lyric man is what makes this a very unisex fragrance. I agree with Sebastian in the details. The dry down is beautiful. From boston

  • I really enjoyed the distinction of notes between man and woman fragrance. Understanding that they are inherently similar but breaking it down and providing a preference for Lyric Man at the end but explaining for the personal and spicy touch he does like Lyric Woman as well. Great review as always.

  • I’ve heard of Lyric, but never tried … had no idea that the 2 were thought of as “gender benders” – don’t prescribe to the scent/gender argument – I wear everything and have lots of scents marketed to both genders. I love that the house took this playful direction on “gendered” fragrances … open people to new ideas about scent! Definitely the most beautiful bottles in the Amouage range. Love that deep red. If I am picked I would love to win Lyric Man. I am in the USA.

  • Patrick Echevarria says:

Sebastian described it perfectly. Lyric Man has been in my long to-buy list for a while now. I have a carded sample of this and I find it unisex though I see why others may see it as a tad feminine. Would definitely love to add Lyric Man to my small rose-dominant frag collection. Lyric Women on the other hand I haven’t tried. San Diego,USA

  • I love Sebastian’s great, descriptive and on point reviews. I also like his guests. He is a very experienced and knowledgeable in fragrance world. I do not wear perfumes that are lables towards women, although I have some unisex fragrances that are more feminine. I would love to win a bottle of Lyric Man because I had a sample and I loved it! Thank you for a giveaway! I am from illinois.

  • Great video keep them coming. Lyric Man is a great fragrance coming from a great house. Thank you for the giveaway!!! Good luck to all!! Reside in Ohio!!!

  • I love how Sebastian break’s down the notes and his feelings about the fragrances. I love the notes in lyric man and I don’t really wear fragrances that lean toward women . I use will wear unisex fragrances.

  • Wow! I was for sure set on the mens version because of the citrusy intro. And then settles almost incense like. But Sebastian mentioned the woman’s is darker unisex. And I love darker fragrances due to their richness. Soooo!!…I think I’ll opt for the womens. If I cannot wear, I can always gift it to my lady and admire it on her. Thank you from california.!

  • I always love Sebastian”s reviews! His review of Lyric Man and Lyric Woman was great when he displayed the notes of each fragrance Lyric Msn notes seemed more on the feminine, light side and Lyric Woman seemed more masculine and spicy and he felt the same way! I love his upbeat and enthusiastic revirw of the fragrances snd you could tell he really enjoyed wearing these fragrances!

  • Ray Schaper says:

As always, Sebastian does a fine job explaining what these frags are all about. I would like to win the Lyric Man. I have never worn a fragrance marketed to women only but have many unisex ones.

  • l love amouage fragrances and sebastian has a way of describing fragrances that just makes you wants you to shower in them. I have never thought you can wear a rose flower in warm weather. I really do wish i win this drawing

  • Sebastian explains the essence of perfume so well. Love to watch his reviews. Even though I’m a woman, I would love to win a bottle of Lyric man. Fragrance to me is genderless, if you like it just wear it!

  • Michael McDonald says:

I love how Sebastian described Lyric Man as a tropical smelling rose fragrance. I would like to win Lyric Woman because I don’t yet own a fragrance that is specifically marketed to women. I do wear fragrances such as Dries Van Noten par Frederic Malle, Atelier Cologne Cafe Tuberosa, and Creed Vetiver Geranium, but I don’t think that those are only marketed to women.

  • I would like to be entered in the giveaway. What I like most about Sebastian’review is that he always gives concise and detailed information in each review. I would like to win the Amouage Lyric Man.
I am a man and I definitely wear fragrances that are marketed towards women.

  • I wear what I like. I do wear scent that are marketed towards women. Chanel °5, Versace Crystal Noir, STASH, among others. Sebastian review thus far have been spot on. I’m interested in the Lyric woman.

  • Thank you Cafleurebon for sponsoring this giveway, I would love a chance to win LYRIC MAN, CHICAGO, IL. If you have been following Sebastian for a while, YOU KNOW YOU CAN TRUST HIS NOSE ON THE ROSE NOTE. Sebastian is very knowledgeable and his reviews are awesome. I’ve been wanting to try lyric man for a long time, but just never get a chance to. I’ve seen mixed reviews on this fragrance particularly on how feminine it is. Rose is my favorite note, and I’ve never shy away from putting on fragrance marketed to woman. One of my favorite fragrance that tend to be more feminine is Rosa Nobile by Acqua Di Parma.

  • tracepowell says:

I liked Sebastian’s description of Lyric Woman being on the darker side. I love the note of rose, but prefer it dark. I find Lyric Man to be a little too bright. The incense in it is nice, but it is over-powered by the soapy rose. I’d like to win Lyric woman. I’m a man who has sampled fragrances marketed exclusively to women, but I don’t think I actually own any. I do however love florals and don’t mind feminine leaning scents.

  • Mack Elwood says:

Lyric Man is my favorite Amouage. Unfortunately, I’ve only ever bought decants, so a full bottle would be a true gift. Great review as always by one of the best in the business. I didn’t even consider the Woman version, so that is great info! I don’t tend to buy stuff marketed for women, probably because I just don’t see enough reviews to know about them, but unisex and florals are never something I shy away from. Lyric Man is my choice. St. Louis, MO here. Thanks!

  • Kai Heng Hong says:

Thank you Cafleurebon! I would LOVE to win Amouage Lyric Man! I’ve always been trying to find a perfect rose based fragrance for myself, and I’ve found MFK Oud Satin Mood. I have not tried this yet, but I’m hoping I can! I’m located in Lincoln, NE, USA

  • Gabriel Gallawa says:

Thanks for the great descriptions of these frags. Ivery not smelled the women’s and would love the opportunity to do so. I have a couple feminine leaning frags but they smell great so I wear what I like.

  • I don’t care what gender the fragrance is for if I like it and it grabs me. A spicy oriental rose sounds fantastic!

  • I don’t care what gender the fragrance is for if I like it and it grabs me. A spicy oriental rose sounds fantastic! So I’d like Lyric Woman. It was a great review and I have not seen these fragrances anywhere else yet so thanks for pointing them out!

  • GrandmaGaga says:

As always, I enjoyed Sebastian’s review; he is no-nonsense and no pretentiousness and I appreciate that so much. I have tried Lyric Woman and did find it a bit masculine-leaning…for that reason, I would love to try Lyric Man. I’m open to all scents, no matter the marketing….if it smells good, I’ll wear it! I am in the
    US.

  • I have tried Lyric Women and really like it so that would be my choice if I won. After hearing the description of the men’s version I need to try. I just assumed it would be some oud heavy thing. Thanks, Sebastian! USA

  • Sebastian does it one more time… Always love what he has to say! A jammy fresh rose. I do find it interesting that the female scent seemed to be more mascalent… Who da thunk it! Anyway I would love to try the feminine version of lyric women… I do live in Southern Illinois.

  • I have tried a number of Amouages and have not found one I really love. I like Lyric Woman but it is not a rose scent to me. I think it’s interesting — strong, sweeter; don’t get any rose or spice here, no incense on me; a bit fruity. I like but don’t love it. I think I would love to try the Man. I totally wear men’s’ fragrances.

  • Hi Sebastian!
I loved your long bottle/short bottle descriptions. I am a short woman but I tend to prefer the Amouage long bottles (with the notable exception of Memoir Woman). I thought your reviews of both Lyric fragrances were spot on. I live on the US.

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

Thanks for the review! I adore Amouage fragrances and I have the Amouage Lyric Woman but lost my Amouage Lyric Man during transportation to another rented home. I don’t believe in gender-bender based fragrances, I wear what I like/love and that’s why I purchased both.. As mentioned both Lyric fragrances smells different and yes rose is dominant which is one of my favorite note in perfumes. Would love to participate in the draw by letting my relative address in US. If I win my choice is Amouage Lyric Man. My favorite from Amouage is Interlude Man followed by Jubilation Man.

  • Sebastian describes these two fragrances so we’ll. Masculine women’s fragrances and feminine man’s fragrance, awesome! I’d honestly not know which one to pick.

  • Great video as always! I enjoyed learning about the two Fragrances I did not realize they were created by two different perfumers that also happen to share the same first name and that they do not smell similar. If I was to win this give away I would choose Lyric Man. Personally I wear both men and women’s Fragrances and do not discriminate on what sex it was meant for. Thank you!

  • Thanks Seb for this giveaway. Ive smelled Lyric Man but not
Lyric Woman. I do like it but haven’t got a chance to wear it.
I would go with a Lyric Man. Hopefully I can own a bottle
    Thanks

  • Another great review Sebatian! I’d love to try Lyric Man I enjoyed especially the “bright and juicy rose ” and the presentation is amazing! I think that a lot of fragrances can be neutral. I wear some men’s fragrances because I don’t like the heavy powder scent or sweet smell in many women’s products. Thank you for the draw!

  • grant doling says:

The review is wonderful for both versions. I have wanted a bottle of Lyric Man for quite some time. Would love to receive a bottle of Lyric Man. I live in Tennessee. United States.
    Thank you.

  • I enjoy all of Sebastian’s videos. He is real informative and honest. His reviews really give you the confidence to go purchase the scent or @ least try a decant of the scents he suggests. I would like to own Lyric Man. I wear any scent that smells good to me.

  • I have watched Sebastian before, and love the way he processes rose as a note. His review is, like always, clear, clean, logical and personable at the same time- which makes one feel they learned a lot without being sold to.
I’m a woman, but own and wear both women’s and men’s fragrances (my favorite masculine scent is vintage Czech & Speake 88). I would love a bottle of Lyric Woman. I live in the US.

  • I would like to try Lyric Woman. It sounds a bit more austere and dark in comparison with Lyric Man being more bright, according to Sebastian’s review.
I do wear fragrances marketed to women, and don’t really believe in the gender classifications for most (though not all) fragrances. Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, and Aquolina’s Gold Sugar, being among my favorite gender benders

  • Loved Sebastian , because he is always so clear and specific. If I won, I would the Lyric Woman, because I like the notes for Lyric Woman better than for Lyric Man. I tend to like fragrances that veer to THE “masculine” side. I don’t find most gender designations to have much meaning for me. Thank you so much for the draw. I live in the USA

  • Great video. Perfect timing. I’m looking for a good rose-based fragrance. I haven’t sought them out before, but have really enjoyed sampling Portrait of a Lady and Paestum Rose. I haven’t put my nose on either Amouage yet, but it sounds like I might like Lyric Woman better. I like that many new niche fragrances are marketed as unisex. It’s too bad that many great fragrances have gone un-smelt because of marketing and supposed fragrance “genders.”

  • I wear any fragrances that I like.
Being a woman, my favorite is still Interlude Man.

But for this I would love to try the Lyric Woman and generally I like the darker versions more.
Hope..hope I get picked this time, have been waiting to win someday…

    In US.

  • He is very trough reviewer which i like most about him.

I would love to try Lyric Man. I live in USA.

  • He is very trough reviewer which i like most about him.

I would love to try Lyric Man. I live in USA.

Usually i dont wear women frag unless they are bit on manly side

  • I love the idea of gender-bending scents! I have always wanted to try out Lyric Man. I’ve been looking for a great rose scent and this seems to fit the bill. As a man I only wear fragrances that are for men or if they’re unisex but I don’t wear ones that are marketed to women. I haven’t found a scent that I’d be comfortable wearing that is marketed to women yet. My choice of fragrance is Lyric Man.

  • I’ve gotten into Rose scents recently and love how this scent evolves and goes through the night. I feel cool af wearing this haha
Would love to win Lyric MAN.
    from the US.
    Thanks again.

  • Gabriel Garcia says:

Absolutely wonderful to wear and I have lyric man, not sure about lyric woman, but since it is a very good quality. I see no problem wearing it.

  • I love how thorough and pleasant Sebastian is in his review. If I win I would love Lyric Woman.

  • I am a subscriber for a long time, from the man loves cologne era, and recently I am becoming a huge fan because of the accuracy of the descriptions of the reviews and how it matches my own describing. kudos to him. if I were to win I would want lyric man.
    thanks.

  • I have recently became interested in the scent of rose thanks to Sebastian stating numerous times it’s one of his favorite notes.. As a child I could not stand it. Just reminded me of old women. Now I find myself seeking it out. I will wear any fragrance as long as I like the way it smells on me.. I would love to own Lyric Man. Sebastian just comes across as genuine, n that is much appreciated . I live in the USA in Georgia.

  • Richard Potter says:

As Sebastian points out, there is a world of difference between the two. I would love to own a bottle of Lyric Woman.USA

  • Amouage is a brand I just started to get into and I bought Interlude last year for men. I think Lyric Man sounds great since its Sebastian’s favorite for many years
I haven’t experimented for fragrances that say for ladies but will now

  • Nick rosenbeck says:

I enjoyed how he compared the two because I have never seen anybody else talk about a women’s amouage scent before. Unique idea to compare the men’s and women’s to eachother.

  • Hi i enjoyed most from sebastians interview was how in depth he goes into the fragrances and into notes, you definitely get a good idea what to expect if your to purchase, plus hes pretty honest with his reviews which i can appreciate.

And I do have a few fragrances marketed for women my favs are TF sahara noir, and coromandel edt.

I would love to win lyricman

Thnkx for fabulous giveaway and article

  • codylwoodward says:

Great video! I enjoyed his take on the fragrance that its a happy rose scent. It sounds amazing. I’ve never worn gender bending fragrances so this would be great to try! USA

  • As always I like Sebastian’s video-review!!!
I think I will like Amouage Lyric Man based on Sebastian’s description-” nice rose, same time juicy, reach but same time fresh”.
I very rarely wear famale fragranes, if only that reason when thay have masculine vibe, for example Sisley Soir de Lune.
But I know so many woman that wear male fragrances))))
    USA, DE

  • I have been following Sebatian for a long while, I know his absolute passion about rose. So I of course trust him on this, and I am a diehard fan of the house Amouage as well, though unfortunately Lyric man has yet been in my collection. I love how Sebatian breakes down the fragrance with his association, and I’m looking forward to try out the ‘cheerfulness’ from Lyric man;
U.S based, looking forward to winning Lyric man!

  • I appreciate Sebastian’s reviews because they are concise and I’ve come to trust his opinion.
Sebastian’s review of Amouage Lyric Man & Woman gave me different insight into these two fragrances. I’ve been on the fence with whether to purchase Lyric Man because I haven’t had much luck (or liked) some rose scents but always hear great things about Lyrica Man.
I tend to gravitate towards masculine fragrances but wear unisex ones as well.
I would love to finally give Lyric Man a try.

  • never saw a sebastian review before and enjoyed the depth of it very much. definitely will look at more. i wear what smells good (i couldn’t care less how it’s marketed.) i’ve had lyric woman and did not care overmuch for it — but would love to give lyric man a try. in the u.s.

  • Sebastian is right, Lyric woman is more spicy and leans to the masculine side. I usually do not pull off women`s perfumes.
Because of sandalwood, incense, and patchouli I would like to win Lyric Woman if I have a chance.
Thanks to CAfleurebon and Euroeperfumes for the opportunity.
    I am in the USA.

  • I left a comment but the CAPCHA code wasn’t taken an it’s disappeared. If these is a duplicate, my apologies.

Love Sebastian’s reviews as his love of fragrance is so evident and even sweet. Lyric Man has been on my to-try list for some time. After viewing this, don’t know why Lyric Woman hasn’t been! However, if I had the good fortune to win, I’d love to have the men’s version as I need some happy uplifting fragrances and I love rose, so it’d probably be a perfect match!

I have never cared a whit what gender a fragrance is marketed to. I don’t usually notice, or actually tend more towards interest if it IS marketed to men as I tend to like them more.

    Am in the US

  • Fernando Garcia says:

Big fan of Sebastian’s channel. I have smelled Lyric Man but not Lyric Woman. I would love to smell that one!

  • I love this review – he goes into plenty of detail and love that describes and contrasts both the Man and Woman version.

The review has totally sold me on this one and would love to win the Lyric Woman.

I don’t usually wear men’s fragrances – mostly because I don’t like too much Oud and I find many men’s fragrances are too Oud heavy, but I do like a few of the more floral or vanilla style men’s fragrances.

And I am currently in the US.

  • Jessie Jamal Ledet says:

I enjoy how unbiased and in depth his reviews are. I am suscriber. :-). Would love lyric man. Thanks for the contest

  • JamesJeboury says:

Sebastian possess a very unique taste and always introduces new gems to the fragcom. As for Lyric man, it’s a very sensual and at the same time fun offering from Amouage. It stands out from other Amouage fragrances that are more on the incensey and smokey side. Would love to add Lyric Man to my collection

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews! So excited to hear about the differences between these two fragrances and he really summed it up nicely. I would like to win Lyric Man, given the choice. I’m in the US and sometimes pull out the Grey Flannel but typically gravitate toward unisex frags. Thank you for the draw!

  • girasole638 says:

Sebastian makes both of these fragrances sound so appealing that it’s hard to choose. I actually had no idea about the ‘gender-bending’ nature of this pairing, so that was very interesting to learn. But I have to admit I’m not one for paying too much attention to gender marketing in fragrances. I happily wear Prada Infusion d’Homme (despite it’s frightening name!) and Dior Homme, among others. If it smells good to me, I’ll wear it! That being said, I think I would select the women’s version in this case. It’s probably more due to the time of year, but I’m craving something deeper and spicier! I’m in the US. Thank you!

  • I think Sebastian did a great job with the video.I’ve only had a sample of lyric man and I really liked it.I loved his comparison of the two,but still think I would prefer lyric man . I’d really love to win a bottle of lyric man.

  • Love watching the video, great review! Lyric Man sounds completely up my alley because of the notes. My point is that people should wear whatever they think smells nice on themselves.
Thank you for the draw! I live in the USA

  • Frank Gambina says:

I enjoyed how Sebastian compared both lyric man and woman and how he mentioned “woman” can be geared for a man and how “man” can be geared for a woman, I enjoy the notes of rose, vanilla, saffron and frankincense so I know I’d enjoy lyric man, not to mention all the positive hype it’s recieved lately from the frag community. I would wear a woman’s fragrance if I really enjoyed it as long as I felt it didn’t smell to feminine. I would love to be entered in the giveaway, thanks. I’m from the USA.

  • I always love Sebastian’s reviews. When I read the notes for each fragrance, I thought for sure I’d like the female version better. But after hearing his review, I am now leaning towards Lyric Man. His description of it being happy and uplifting sold me on it. I’ve never tried anything from Amouage, so I’d be thrilled to get either one.

    I live in the USA

  • CHANELCAROLINA says:

OMG PLEASE GOD LET ME BE THE ONE! I LOVEE AMOUAGE THIS FRAGRANCE IS ON MY TOP WISH LIST BUT UNFORTUNATELY SINCE I HAVE A LOT OF EXPENSE DO TO THE HURRICANES CAN’T PURCHASE FRAGRANCES AT THE MOMENT. JUST LIKE SEBASTIAN I AM A HUGE LOVER OF ROSES. I WANTED IT THE FEMALE VERSION BUT AFTER HIS REVIEW
I WOULD LOVE TO WIN LYRIC MAN. I AM HAPPY THE HE COMPARED BOTH AND GAVE HIS HONEST OPINION LOVE HIS REVIEWS SPECIALLY WHEN IS COMBINE WITH CAFLEUREBON ARTICLE 🙂

    I LIVE IN FLORIDA

  • Xavier Reynolds says:

I Love Amouage Lyric Man and would not mind winning a full bottle of it. It has such a dark nature to it, but at the same time, as Sebastian said in his video, is very bright at the same time. A masterpiece for sure. From Columbus, Ohio (USA)

  • Great review as always from Sebastian, I’ve tried a decant of and it’s amazing. Love it!!! Would love to win a full bottle, make it my signature :). Phoenix Arizona here..
