Top Ten Best Fall Fragrances 2022 + Part 1 draw

Best fall fragrances 2022

Last night I slept with the window open for the first time since early June and the leaves in NYC are just beginning to change. I can feel the chilly breath of autumn on my neck and it is as welcome as a lover’s kiss. –Michelyn

In this top ten best fall fragrances video, Part 1, Editor Steven Gavrielatos chooses five of the ten fall fragrances to wear this autumn (three of the picks are his and we share two: AZMAN MAJNOON and Parfums de Marly Oajan).

Narcotica Dulce Diablo (Claude Dir): Dulce Diablo by Narcotica blends a juicy apricot note with the booziness of cognac and the sweetness of cacao. Touches of rum also contribute to the spicy sensation while honey and sugarcane warm our senses with their saccharine delight. Dulce Diablo is a devilishly sweet perfume that is perfect for the colder days of autumn. –Steven

Roja Parfums Creation-E Parfum Cologne (Roja Dove): I have never been inside a posh men’s club, but I imagine it would smell like Creation – E Parfum Cologne. With its perfectly blended boozy rum, tobacco notes and warm woods, it’s pure class and one of Steven’s favorites.

Frapin1270 Extreme (Jerome Epinette): I owned the original by Sidonie Lancesseur which is the olfactory equivalent of drinking cognac from a St. Louis Thistle Gold brandy snifter… from its amber color to its complex fruity, honeyed scent. – Michelyn and Steven

Parfums de Marly Oajan (Shyamala Maisondieu): Parfums de Marly Oajan (WAJE-AHN) is a grownup gourmand composed by Givaudan perfumer Shyamala Masiondieu and is perfect for autumn. Shyamala is one of my favorite perfumers because she always brings her signature international flair (Malaysian, Hong Kong, Grasse, Paris and the U.K.) to each of her many fragrances (to name a few Etat Libre D’Orange Charogne, Soul of My Soul, Ex Nihilo Atlas Fever Tom Ford F*ing Fabulous). On the Parfums de Marly site it is listed as masculine, but don’t worry ladies it is truly unisex, and is an ambery warm perfume where honey and cinnamon are sprinkled on peachy osmanthus. Davana which lends a complex scent of dried fruit and tea. East meets West for a thousand and one scented delights. Oajan is one Parfums de Marly I think deserves more attention-Michelyn

Azman Majnoon (Prin Lomros): Majnoon, was released in 2022 under the creative direction of Husen Baba would have been my top choice on Steven’s Top Ten Fall Fragrances 2022, part 1. It is oud-mazing with a double dose of agarwood (Oud from Thailand (Trat), Oud from India (Assam),  which offset  one of the best coffee notes I have smelt. Fruits, incense and spices swirl around the composition like multi colored autumnal leaves and with 25 percent parfum concentration it has “crazy” (Majnoon translates roughly into crazy) longevity and sillage. Fall days are shorter and the sun rises earlier so if you want the olfactive equivalent of being caffeinated, Majnoon is the next best thing to a double espresso. There’s nothing cozy here, more like a deep velvet lined coat you don to make an entrance. An opus by the Thai artisan Prin Lomros. –Michelyn

Top notes: Pomegranate, Saffron, CloveNutmeg, Cinnamon, Coffee Absolute; Heart notes: Champaca, RoseLeatherTobaccoTonka Bean, Nagarmotha, (Oud from Thailand (Trat), Oud from India (Assam); Base notes: Oud from Thailand (Trat), Oud from India (Assam), Patchouli, Amber, IncenseVanilla

  • I’ve to go with Michelyn’s take on Majnoon about having one of the best coffee notes out there! That does it for me. I love coffee and Majnoon seems to be the perfect choice for fall.
    Europe

    Thank you!

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

    Omg, this list is Amazing.
I would love to win Oajan….I love how that fragrance smells every time I go to Neimans I have to smell it… it’s so delicious

  • Azman Majnoon, California USA.
They all sound amazing some I own some I don’t but the one I chose is because for one I love oud and the other is I have Oajan but Majnoon would have been picked either way here’s to the great reviews from both

  • One of my favorite times of the year as well. Love how the boozy note fragrances I own pop in this weather and get great compliments. Really great list of fragrances

  • I have to go with oajan i love How transformative both of the descriptions in the video and article are It really helps paint a picture for you and helps you really Understand the notes in the fragrances Also I love how the perfumer is mentioned that has always been something that was pretty important to me

  • I would be happy to receive either fragrance, as both seem interesting to me, but ultimately I would choose Azman Majnoon as I’m a huge fan of coffee! I love how apt the descriptions of the fragrances are, like vivid portraits of what’s inside the bottle in a clear concise way. Anyways peace to y’all have a good day

  • ianbradleyandrews says:

Oajan sounds great! I love that michelyn calls it out being underrated! I love how Steven describes the performance and the comparisons. I’d love to try it. I live in Indiana.

  • Donnie Meador says:

All the perfume you had were interesting. I have not tried any of those, but I may try to find some decant to see how they show on my skin. I am a big fan of PDM.

  • Diondre Venable says:

Parfums de Marly Oajan just hits different. This is a perfect 10/10 fragrance but it gets overshadowed by Layton, Carlisle, Herod and Pegasus. The house is poetically the best because everything they put out is quality. The scent, the projection, the longevity, you name it is unmatched. I would love a bottle of this!

  • Amazing content there are several fragrances I have not smell before which is great as I’ll get to know new and exiting fragrances.

Michelyn’s review is really good and detailed enough to get an idea of what to expect from each fragrance.

I live in the US, and would love to get a chance of getting my nose on Oajan.

  • My favorite weather for fragrances and that Narcotica sounds divine. All of them do, honestly, but Narcotica is where my eye is at!

  • Majnoon sounds amazing and if its Stevens richest frag ever sign me up. I have only tried the Frapin and own Creation E. Oajan also sounds great and am glad to see other of the perfumers creations listed. I live in Us

  • The reviews for both Michelyn and Steven were informative and well thought out. Thank you both! I live in the USA and would love to win a bottle of Parfums de Marly Oajan!

  • AZMAN Majnoon won my heart with notes. Fall is my fave (perfume) szn, and I can see putting all 5 of them on me. Juicy describtions by Michelyn and gorgeous video by Steven made me aproach fall scents with some New ideas, very cool! Im from EU, croatia

  • Both Michelyn and Steven are really selling me on the Azman Majnoon: Michelyn calling it her top choice, and Steven calling it an “enchanting” combination of oud and coffee. Sounds gorgeous, and it would be my pick if I won. I also love the sound of Dulce Diabolo: boozy apricot!!!
I have followed Ca Fleure Bon on Instagram, and I live in the US!

  • Had a sample of Oajan in the past and it instantly made it on to my future buy list. It’s a smooth addictive scent that gets overshadowed by some of the other top names from the house

  • I am soooo ready for fall fragrances.
It has been so hot this summer in Oklahoma.
I would have to pick azman majnoon if I were to win.

  • Charles P Poydras says:

I enjoyed both Michelyn’s, Steven’s, and Redolessence’s videos. They make them all sound like 10/10’s! I would choose PDM Oajan if I were to win the event.

    Charles, Columbus, OH USA

  • I agree with Michelyn that Oajan needs more attention, and I’d be happy to be the one to give it the attention it so deserves. I agree with her that it’s definitely unisex. I can see how as Steven said, some might compare it to Angel’s Share. I prefer Oajan, personally. Thank you both for full, descriptive, and easy to read/watch reviews.

I noticed that all five choices contain drink nuances, either booze, spiced tea, or coffee. They all seem to give the feeling of warmth by liquid.

I live in Texas, USA. Thank you so much for holding this drawing!

  • Greg Graham Sr says:

Hello Steven and Cafleurebon and Michelyn Thank you for your Generosity I would love to have PDM Oajan. BTW I love the part about a lovers kiss. Stay safe

  • I would love to win Oajan! It’s one of my favorites from the house. I love warm, sweet gourmands.

  • If I won, I’d go with the Majnoon. Both Steven and Michelyn’s descriptions of it make it sound fantastic. The fall is my favorite season and we’re still stuck in a seemingly eternal summer where I live, so the video and the post just made me even more eager for the weather to finally cool down. I live in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks for the generous draw!

  • The reviews from Michelyn and Steven were very insightful and straight to the point. I would love to win Azman Majnoon and I live in Portugal, EU.

    Thank you!

  • Enigma edp a MUST for the autumn. And Oajan a layering king, especially to balance those smoky, woody or oudy fragrances for the cooler weather. Completely agree with Michelyn’s unisex classification. Love smelling it on women. But I’ve never tried any of the others! Just from Steven’s description, Dulce Diablo sounds absolutely delicious. Apricot a very difficult accord to pull off tastefully, but with those boozy touches, you can sometimes counter the lactonic facets. Incidentally, I’m a big fan of Claude’s work for Zaharoff – Signature and Signature Rose among my favs. Speaking of booze, I’m also a massive fan of the original 1270, so it’s only fitting that its successor make the top 10. Majnoon also going on the to-try list, since I can’t always be bothered with a daily espresso. lol Still not sure how I feel about oud Assam, but that’s just part of the journey. One day. Great choices all around!
    Choice: Oajan

  • Great review and great video as always. I’d love to win Oajan and I’m in the USA. Thank you for the opportunity.

  • Michelyn says she loves creations by Shyamala Masiondieu because she brings her international background to her perfumes. Oajan may be listed as masculine but it is a perfectly unisex perfume. Steven describes Oajan as a spicy cinnamon fragrance with warm vanilla vibes. Steven also alludes to the fact that Oajan is compared to other fragrances like Angel’s Share and Ambre Narguille. My choice is Oajan. I am in US.

  • Love redolessence’s videos and all of the fragrance related content that comes along with it. Low key need that PDM oajan

  • codycatton11167 says:

Love redolessence channel and all the amazing fragrance related content that it has to offer I’d love to add PDM Oajan to my collection.

  • I have been following Steven for a while, and love his fragrance content. I am a female and I love deep rich complex fragrances and love the smell of cinnamon and honey for fall. Oajan sounds perfect to add some comfort, mystery and luxury on a fall day. I would love Oajan, and live in Canada.

  • Not new to the fragrance community but my first time here…certainly won’t be the last. Can’t wait to wear my sweeter Fragrances this fall and winter. Oajan sounds amazing but really does get little to any hype. Bk, N.Y is home

  • I loved the poetic opening to part 1 by Michelyn, very visceral and the same can be said about her fragrance reviews that follow. What keeps my attention is the way he uses visuals to describe his olfactory experiences like Roja Dove creation-E for example when she compares it to a “posh men’s club” or Oajan’s fruits, incense & spices swirling around like different hues of autumn leaves. Steven’s video was concise and his descriptions were as close as you’ll get to smelling these fragrances without putting your nose on them as usual, which is why I’ve been a sub for 5 yrs now (I think him being a teacher allows him to communicate so effectively). His review of Narcotica Dulce Diablo was particularly enticing, he describes this gourmand the same way a chef would and you can really tell he’s captivated by it. The fact that he wanted to make it his SOTN lets us know that it’s not just another bottle on his shelf collecting dust that he decided to show off for this video. If I had my choice to receive any of these I would pick PDM OAJAN which is fall in a bottle. The others do sound very tempting but I’d rather play it safe since I’m already familiar with it. – Aaron Mavins, IG: @ajmavins , Syracuse, New York

  • Oajan by PDM promises a warm embrace of yummy notes such as spicy cinnamon, vanilla, honey, amber… I would be so grateful to be able to wrap myself in this fragrance’s beautifully delicious and comforting notes in the cooler months of autumn. The mentions of longevity and performance + the notes that make it unisex were also very helpful.

Michelyn’s colorful and creative descriptions transported me into the magical world of fragrances where I was able to experience – or at least imagine – the multifaceted layers of each fragrance (I loved the deep velvet lined coat reference).

Steven’s video was informative, vivid and honest. His presentation was truly relatable and he gave his reviews a very human dimension, for instance by describing how each fragrance made him feel.

I appreciate the honesty factor here. It is particularly critical in setting this channel apart and making it appealing and credible.

All reviewed fragrances were centered around boozy, tea or coffee notes as well as spices and fruits with an overall sense of warmth that is so welcome during the Fall season.

A big thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience these amazing and unique fragrances!
    I live in California, USA.

  • Attou. Sofiane says:

I would be happy to receive either fragrance, as both seem interesting to me, but ultimately I would choose. Ojean Pdm. I love all parfum sel marly. Collection they do great job

  • There’s nothing cozy here, more like a deep velvet lined coat you don to make an entrance. An opus by the Thai artisan Prin Lomros. – Michelyn

Top notes: Pomegranate, Saffron, Clove, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Coffee Absolute; Heart notes: Champaca, Rose, Leather, Tobacco, Tonka Bean, Nagarmotha, (Oud from Thailand (Trat), Oud from India (Assam); Base notes: Oud from Thailand (Trat), Oud from India (Assam), Patchouli, Great reviews by Steven and Michelyn I am fascinated by Majnoon this sounds like a perfect Autumn scent. Thanks a million from the UK

  • I am intrigued by Majnoon mostly because of the Coffee note. A fragrance that has been on my radar for a while but I have not got it for some reason or the other. Thanks a lot from the United Kingdom

  • Oh man all these sound so great. I would love to win oajan, I have gourmand scents but man would my fiance love more, I literally only buy gourmands and sweets even in the summer! great list, can we get a clone or Arabic themed one next?

  • I am very curious about Azman. I have read about their fragrances many times here on the blog, but never really got the chance to actually test them. I am in Europe. Thank you!

  • I pick the Parfums de Marly Oajan.

Michelyn’s written review is pleasantly comprehensive, descriptive, and meticulous. Steven’s video is very interesting and informative. I live in Canada.

I have registered on this site, subscribed to Redolessence on Youtube, and I followed @cafleurebonofficial on instagram. Thank you.

  • All of these sound so special and unique. The descriptions given sound so dreamy!! I can picture wearing any of these scents for fall. I would be so lucky to try absolutely any of these amazing scents. The notes and experience described.. just wow.

  • Steven’s videos are always very descriptive to me. When he speaks of Frapin1270 Extreme, he mentions the pineapple, the tonka bean, the vanilla and the booze and I instantly know it is something I would love to put my nose on. When speaks about Roja Parfums Creation-E Parfum Cologne he is spot on with the cognac and the booziness. I have that one in my collection and I have been ready to pull it back out. Now when it comes Oajan…..that’s one of my absolute favs. Michelyn and Steven both touched on how it is a grown up, adult gourmand and they are right. That honey and cinnamon is just sooooooo good. And I can definitely see a woman wearing it. Reading Michelyn’s review of Azman Majnoon has me thinking about some of the coffee scents that I have in my collection and how they can stand up against it. “Fruits, incense and spices swirl around the composition like multi colored autumnal leaves” now that sounds amazing and right on par with the time of season that’s coming.

If chosen I would like the bottle of Azman Majnoon.
    I live in Dallas, Tx

  • This list is great I would love to win oajan, frappin 1270, creation E or narcotica. I would love to add one of those to my fragrance collection.

  • Both reviews from Michelyn and Steven made me indecisive because I want them all lol all sound so good! I live in the USA and would love to win a bottle of Parfums de Marly Oajan! 🙂

  • Love Steven’s videos as always, great article too. I recently smelled Oajan and was blown away, such an addictive and mesmerizing scent, would love to own a bottle. I’m in the US.

  • marc.oulai@gmail.com says:

I love how without smelling those perfume both Michelin and Steven describe those scent with the proper wording especially Stevens!…I always bought my fragrances based on Steven’s description and I to this day never had a bad suprise with the scent I purchased!
I love parfum the Marly as a house so I would be very happy to try out Oajan!
    Thank you!

  • I love this season! Being a gourmand fragrance lover there is no better time to start wearing the sweet, warm, spice and boozy scents. I would love to be smelling like delicious PDM Oajan this fall and winter!

    Oajan
    USA

  • Steven is very warm and inviting with his soft tone and is very intelligent about fragrances! As for Michelyns comment, just makes me that much more excited to break out my fall collection and invite the smells and feels of the fall! Great video Steven and great article Michelyn!

  • Great autumn picks, very unique in its own and comforting for the cooler weather to come. My pick would be Majnoon ! Thanks for the draw.
    Based in the EU

  • Fall is finally here, almost…the best season in my opinion, at least as far as fragrances are concerned.
Loved the reviews of Michelyn and Steven. Three perfumes interested me the most: Oajan, Frapin 1270 extreme and Azman Majnoon.
Michelyn pointed out right: Oajan is not only for man! My girlfriend wears it and loves it.
As far as Majnoon is concerned, as Steven pointed out is not a beginner oud enthusiast….this is what make me curious the most about this fragrance…also the notes are great and the components seem top notch.

If I win I would pick Azman Majnoon!

I follow you on your Instagram page @cafleurebonoffical with the nickname riccal65.

  • Aquila Sims-Stevenson says:

I love that you are giving us your too fall fragrances for 2022. I’ve smelled Oajan an I love it and wish that I had it to wear this fall. I agree with Michelyn that although this is marketed toward men ladies smell great wearing this. I think that consumers would benefit from knowing that. Also Michelyn’s review now makes me want to try more from Shyamala.

I also agree with Steven when he says that although this has been compared to other spicy cinnamon apple fragrances Parfums De Marley is the way to go. It lasts and lasts. I tested on my skin and it lasted forever. Fingers crossed I’ll win a bottle of Oajan an get to enjoy it this fall.

I live in Philadelphia PA US

  • Yum! So excited for switching up the fragrance wardrobe for fall! Interesting that Michelyn wrote that there is nothing cozy about Majnoon, while Steven described it as very cozy!

If I win, I would choose Majnoon. Thank you for the lovely video and review, writing from the EU.

  • Good morning I would love to win Roja dove creation-e I’m a collector off fragrances and I don’t own any by them I have just started my own YouTube channel
Called mikey cologne and I would love to review this fragrance on my channel
    Many thanks Michael Ashman

  • It’s so frustrating living in a city right outside Memphis.
I want to smell all the highest quality fragrances but the only way I can ever do that is ordering online.
I will every so often risk my life by going into town to get a few free smells of designer level at the dangerous mall but then I always get stuck paying full retail for something just to help the sales associate out and not come off like the rest of the folks just trying to grab free stuff. Then again, Here I am trying to win free fragrance here..‍♂️
    I’m such an addict.
Damn you (unspoken) niche fragrance house, for starting this journey in my soul so many years ago!!!!!
    Anyway,
I would love to win please!

  • Azman house creates such amazing perfumes. I have the pleasure to own “Two minutes after the kiss” and I would absolutely love to also have Majnoon in my collection, as Steve describes it in his video, for its “meditative” ingredients. Michelyn calls it a deep velvet lined coat one wears to make an entrance. So let me make one in Majnoon!

    I live in Portugal/EU

  • Michelyn’s review on Majnoon sounds wonderful. I love coffee and this sounds like a great scent. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • Nom de Guerre says:

AZMAN, come to papa 🙂 I have very limited experience with Prin’s fragrances though the ones I’ve tried left a strong impression on me. Fingers crossed. Some solid recommendations by Steven and a great writeup by Michelyn. Greetings from Riga, Latvia.

  • Michelyn’s lines on Creation-E and Steven’s enthusiasm for it has me wanting to seek out a sample. I would love to win the Oajan. US

  • I truly enjoyed Steven’s video as per usual. His way and method of truly painting such a vivid idea of what a cologne/perfume smells like is second to none. Such grace in his art. The article Michelyn was on par as well with Steven’s video as it truly gave a clear understanding of each scent and the climate each is suited for. If I were to choose I would definitely love to have the Parfum de Marly oajan. That one surely peaked my interest most out of the two options. I currently reside in Trinidad & Tobago but I do have a mailing address in Miami where all packages are forwarded to me. Thanks for the consideration

  • Michelle Bower says:

This time of year is my favorite. The cool and clear mornings are refreshing and the crisp evenings bring a peace to the end of my day. The perfumes all sound amazing and I am looking forward to all my gourmands and spicy scents. Roja creation E and the perfume de marly cinnamon bomb sounds amazing. Thank you for your generosity and wow what a giveaway. Narcotics sounds super interesting as well.

  • Al-Muataz Al-Shibli says:

As usual, Michelin’s written review and Steven’s video complement each other in delivering the intended message. The description of the fragrances is captivating and makes me even more excited for fall and its associated scents. I’d love to win Azman Majnoon if possible. I live in the UK. Followed on instagram.

  • Parfums de Marly Oajan would be my choice. Great reviews by both with some nice hidden gems that you don’t normally see reviews by. Really appreciate the fresh perspectives.

  • As someone who is relatively new to the sphere of niche fragrances, I have had some off-putting experiences. Parfums de Marly has always been a safe entry to this world and I’m curious to see how the expression of honey combined with amber would be on my skin!

    Hello from Vancouver, Canada!

  • As usual, Michelyn’s descriptions set up each fragrance perfectly, and Stephen’s reviews knock them out of the park! I would choose Oajan. NV, USA.

  • Fall is my favorite time to wear fragrances! As always, absolutely enjoyed Michelyn and Steven’s thoughts and detailed analysis on all the fragrances. You guys are my favorite! I would LOVE to win Parfums de Marly’s Oajan as it is one of my most favorite fragrances ever! I smelled it in a store once and my mind was literally blown away and I am not kidding at all! I am a long time follower of Cafleurebon’s instagram page as well. My instagram ID is @suvadip.mandal
    Love from USA!

  • Really enjoyed the first part of this series. I agree with Michelyn that Oajan needs more attention, and I think Steven’s comparisons to other fragrances like Ambre Narguile and Angels’ Share is warranted, even though it is it’s own twist on the DNA. I’d like to win Oajan, I live in NY and I follow Cafleurbon on IG (name wrm_01).

  • Shibuichi2000 says:

It looks like we’re in for a gourmand, boozy, meditative, spicy, honeyed, fruity, silky, chocolatey autumn 🙂
Like Steven, if I wouldn’t be already wearing perfume, I’d definitely want to wrap myself in any of the warm, cosy, cocooning fragrances he picked for this video.
    I live in Europe.

  • lisasanderson says:

Fall is my favorite time of year. It takes skill to get the perfect scent because it’s not cold and not hot yet it’s not spring. I find the reviews and the choices excellent. Azman Majnoon with double oud take and coffee seems like something I would love to wear. That combination is heavenly just thinking about it. I tried Oajan and it’s a great fall as Steven says for sure, honey/cinnamon/osmanthus. Steven also described Creation E parfum cologne well and it seems it fits fall well. Dulce diablo is something new and I thank Steven for bringing attention to it. Booziness with cacao and apricot sounds amazing.

    USA
    Interested in trying Azman Majnoon

  • These all sound great! I have a sample somewhere of Oajan, that I will need to retest. I have to say I love the AZMAN bottles as well as their logo. I would choose Majnoon for my choice. Thank you for the draw! US.

  • PhillySniff143 says:

I liked that Michelyn shared some of Shyamalas other work…. never knew!
Steven excels in descriptions of darker scents, especially the boozy ones. I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Should I win, I’d choose Oajan

I follow you on Instagram @sobermindedmusic

  • If I win the drawing I would love to have parfums de marly Oajan. Just the prestigious of the house and how they are always making solid frangrances. I really like the way Michelyn’s describes each fragrance. I’m very detail oriented so the way Michelyn and Steven describes each fragrance is very helpful. After their reviews I’m really interested in Dulce Diablo by Narcotica. I actually purchased Givenchy Gentlamn boisée because of Steven’s review. I live in the USA

  • One of my favorite times of the year. Time for the gourmand fragrances to shine! Majnoon & Oajan both sounds rich, dark, & amazing. Would like to try either one. Martinsville, Virginia USA
    Instagram: @safegotem

  • I would love to win either scent but if I have to pick I am most interested in Oajan. I love how Michelyn described it as ambery (my favorite kind of scent) with dried fruit and tea to make it cozy and autumnal. Steven’s description of the delicious honey and cinnamon notes it also make it sound perfect for fall. I’m in MN, USA and follow your Instagram @ra7chel

  • Thank you so much for the giveaway. I am from Queens, New York,
and I would like to win Azman Majnoon because I love the way you described it’s unique Oud perspective. When looking at Michelyn’s review, I really enjoy the descriptiveness of the feeling that you get from the aromas and it’s effects on your emotions. I also like how Steven’s video gave us an idea of who the target audience is for each type of cologne, which helped me determine which one is right for me. Keep up the good work you guys!!!!

  • Steven is on point as usual, very informative. I was going to pick Oajan but Michelyn‘s description of Majnoon made me change my mind. This sounds amazing, I haven’t trued this house yet and this would be the perfect introduction. I would pick Majnoon.

  • I love how Michelyn and Steven collaborate in order to bring the most accurate, evocative and complete description of the perfumes to the reader. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere created by Michelyn’s introduction and the thorough breakdown of notes and impressions from Steven.
I would love to win Azman Majnoon. The “double shot” of coffee and oud in a mega persistent concoction sounds amazing and oh so autumnal.
I am also following Cafleurebon on instagram.
    Writing from the EU. Thanks!

  • Autumn is the time for ambery warm perfumes with a touch of spice and honey. Michelyn’s description of Oajan plus the East meets West vibe has me sold! Steven’s comparison of the fragrance to Ambre Narguile by Hermes let’s me know it’s a sweetly spiced cold winter fragrance. MD, USA.

  • Since I’m a fan of Prin Lomros, I enjoyed Michelyn’s review of Majnoon. The coffee espresso comparison drew me in. Steven mentioned the oud, and I’m a fan. Thanks for another awesome article and draw. Majnoon would be my choice, if lucky. Mich USA

  • I can’t wait to wear my heavy and rich fragrances!!!! I love fall and winter!!!! I haven’t smelled any of them but I really love notes like amber, incense, boozy…
Narcotica Dulce Diablo (Claude Dir) sounds amazing!!! I would love to try Parfums de Marly Oajan!!! I’m from Massachusetts, MA.

  • Very nice job by both, Mychelin and Redolessence. I love creation E E and Narcotica Dulce Diablo, I think they are perfect for Fall.
I think that Fall is a great season for trying fragrances, because I can use most of fragrances I own, but this list is just on another level.
I have not tried Majnoon by Azman and I really think it surely it is a masterpiece, but I think thay my choise will be Oajan by Parfums de Marly, just because I love PdM fragrances, all of them.
    USA here.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

As always, Steven and Michelyn are very thorough and descriptive of these olfactive creations.
I have had my nose on all of these fragrances, with the exception of Narcotica Dulce Diablo. After this article and Steven’s comments about Dulce Diablo, it has been added to my list of upcoming purchases. For the giveaway, I own fragrances from both PDM and Azman. Oajan provides a beautiful amber and honey accords that I find absolutely wonderful. However, I do agree that the coffee note and oud in Majnoon is very well done and one that I must add to my Fall/Winter collection. It is my choice, should I win. USA

  • Oajan really is something, found other popular pdm fragrances very underwhelming, thought Layton was very ‘designer’

  • Thank you, Steven and Michelyn for the giveaway. I spent the first eight years of my life in Assam, India. Assam is where a good part of the Agarwood comes from. We used Agarwood more as incense for religious purposes rather than as a perfume. I never realized it is such a costly material until last September when I got acquainted with the fragrance world. Since then, I have tried a few Oud-based perfumes/attars (Oud Lemon Mint, Oud for Greatness, Faqat Lil Rijal, Ould al Amir by Abdul Karim Al Faransi) and am slowly feeling nostalgic about my childhood. Now, I want to step up my Oud game and as mentioned in Steven’s video, Azman Majnoon is more for matured Oud lovers. So, I would love to win a bottle of Azman Majnoon. Love from West Lafayette, Indiana.

  • Thanks for this amazing giveaway! Both Mychelin’s article and Steven’s video were concise and straight to the point. And both of them made me want to smell Dulce Diablo and Majnoon. So my choice for the giveaway would be Azman Majnoon. Thanks for the oud disclaimer but I am all for it!

  • Loved both of your reviews! I had never heard of AZMAN Majnoon and it surely sounds like the perfect scent for the colder months. But I agree with both you, Michelyn and Steven about PdM Oajan – it is a GORGEOUS cold weather scent. I’ve only ever had samples of the fragrance but it invokes such a comforting feel, bringing on memories of the winter holidays. I like that Michelyn calls it a “grown up gourmand”. It really is! I’ve never been disappointed with ANY PdM fragrances I’ve ever tested or purchased. So, if I am chosen as the winner, I will most definitely choose Oajan.
    I live in the USA.

  • Frapin 1270 Extreme I would hope to win, one of my favourite note is boozy type fragrance and I’d love to get to try this. Couldn’t see this in part of Asia.
The notes break down really makes me feel like having that drink for hours.

  • katyakotovskaya says:

What a great list! I love that both Michelyn and Steven chose fragrances with some truly autumn notes, the ones we love this time of the year for — cinnamon, coffee, honey… But honestly, Steven got me when he said “This is not for oud beginners”! My heart beats faster every time I come around really rich, complex, multidimensional oud perfume, so AZMAN Majnoon looks like a match made in heaven. Would really love to win a bottle! I live in EU.

  • Thanks for the great intro Michelyn and video Steven. Also thank you for putting Majnoon on my radar. I’ve seen this pop up before but didn’t realize it was a Prin creation, so I must try it!
I would love to win Oajan. Thank you from Canada.

  • Though I love oud perfumes, based on Michelyn’s high endorsement and Steven’s video review, I will choose Parfums de Marly Oajan, were I to win this draw. Autumn is here and Michelyn says it is perfect for autumn. Lovely bottle too, and Steven says the longevity in this is great, so I am drawn to it. Besides, I haven’t tried a full bottle of Parfums de Marly ever, only decants, so this will be a great way to try a Parfums de Marly perfume. I’m a Redolessence subscriber and am in the USA.

  • Steven always has great reviews and gives his honest opinions on fragrances. The fact it is a woody gourmand really sounds like the perfect fall/winter fragrance. Michelyn said Majnoon would have been her pick in Steven’s Top Ten Fall Fragrances 2022 so it must be good. Everything I’ve heard about Majnoon makes it a must try in my book. Thank you Parfums de Marly and Azman for the generous giveaway!
If I won I would choose Azman Majnoon
    United States of America

  • Like Michelyn said, we’ve finally had some cool evenings in parts of the USA, and now I’m ready for brisk autumn days. Michelyn’s review of Azman Majnoon really caught my attention; I’m all for robust longevity in and an “opus” of a fragrance, and a perfect coffee note. It sounds sweet, and decadent, but also spiced and resolutely focused on oud. I also enjoyed Steven’s reviews. His love for Roja Parfums Creation-E is contagious, and I appreciated his detailed comments about Azman Majnoon. Thank you both for the great list.

I’m in the USA and I’d love to win AZMAN Majnoon. I follow @cafleurebonoffical on Instragram.

  • I have been dying to get my hands on Oajan for a while now. So I would love that. I would gift it to my 13 year old son who is a budding fraghead and is known in his school as the boy to go to for fragrance suggestions.
Stevens reviews were practical and to the point, but the written reviews made my mouth water! The description of the Narcotica Dolce Diablo got my heart beating! I think that’s going on my Blind Buy list! I live in the US in IN.

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Michelyn’s written review highlighting some of my favorite wishlist fragrances for the upcoming Autumn season. Creation-E has been one of my all time favorites for a long time with it’s boozy tobacco aura. I’ve heard great things about Narcotica Dulce Diablo being the perfect Tobacco, Cacao, and boozy concoction for fall. I love the Original Frapin 1270 and can’t wait to try the Extreme version. Parfums De Marly Oajan has always been a favorite of mine. I hope to someday own a bottle of this warm tobacco, honey, and cinnamon delight. Steven goes into elaborate detail describing all of these wonderful fall fragrances. He describes the richness and depth of Azman Parfums Majoon with 2 types of Oud and Coffee which sounds incredible. I am following @cafleurebonoffical on Instagram my IG handle is @michaelprincefragrance If I win I would pick Parfums De Marly Oajan. I am from the USA.

  • Thanks for the reviews Michelyn and Steven!

The transitional seasons are probably my favourite seasons for fragrances. The cool breeze allows me to wear almost anything from Gourmands to Chypres.

I have never tried Oajan, but Michelyn’s description of honey and cinnamon sprinkled on peachy osmanthus sounds absolutely divine. I will be sampling this fragrance the next time I go out shopping.

Steven’s lists are always fantastic. His taste very much lines up with mine and thanks to his clear and consice descriptions, I know exactly what to expect from a fragrance. I rarely come across one of his recommendations where I wholeheartely disagree.

As an person who doesn’t stick to the limelight and enjoy making my presence known I am instanly drawn towards AZMAN Majnoon. I would love to wear this with one of my colourful suits.

I follow CaFleureBonOfficial on my @ronaldjapenga instagram account.

    Greetings from the UK!

  • I am very intrigued by the Azman fragrance. First, because I have never tried any Azman creation, and second, because I heard a lot about Prin Lomros, but never really got my nose on his work.
I am in Europe. Thank you

  • Bryant Worley says:

Michelyn and Steven have an excellent way of breaking down fragrances, and making them ‘must-trys’. I would like to win Oajan, as I think that would be the most fitting for me to eear in the Autumn weather.

I live in Waldorf, Marylsnd, USA.

  • wandering_nose says:

Fantastic reviews from Michelyn and Steven! I like how the common theme among almost all of the fragrances presented seems to be warming booziness. I would like to put my nose on Oajan one day as it sounds absolutely gorgeous. I would also be delighted to try 1270 Extreme as it sounds amazing with its enveloping gourmand notes. Dulce Diablo sounds exquisite in its deliciousness too. However, the way Steven describes Majnoon makes the fragrance my definite choice. The combination of meditative oud and high quality coffee along with the depth of patchouli, incense and spices sounds mesmerizing and the ‘crazy’ longevity is a great bonus. I love how Michelyn likens Majnoon to a double espresso. Thank you from the EU. I follow @cafleurebonofficial on IG as _cathy_reilly_.

  • Michelyn your remark for Frapin1270 Extreme cracked me up 🙂 Thanks for the detailed intros for PDM Oajan and Azman Majnoon. I’ll admit Oajan had to grow on me unlike Herod, Layton and Carlisle from the house which were instant hits for me. Now I love Oajan and it’s almost running out. Steven’s advise that Azman Majnoon is not for oud beginners is well made since some Ouds tend to be too potent but as always moderation would probably win out. I’m in USA and would be stoked to win PDM Oajan which is now one of my favorites from the house.

  • Would love to win Oajan! Recently got a PDM sample set, and I fell in love! I loved the detailed explanation of Majnoon, may have to sample it! As for Steven’s reviews – always so enthused! Loved it!

  • I love PDM and Michelyns Comments about it being bored with honey and cinnamon notes seems perfect for fall. Steven mentioned that Azman Is a really bold oud that may not be for beginners and the fact it’s so concentrated it could stay in clothing I will take as a warning. I was also curious how he designated the pineapple note as a fall fragrance when I always said considered at summer. That being said if I’m chosen I would take PDM first but would definitely like to try the other given the chance. Thank you for the draw. USA

  • Going through both reviews, Majnoon from Azman is the one to stand out for me. Crazy and meditative, double espresso and darkness. I am a coffee addict, so Michelyn’s description of being “caffeinated” as well as meditative state via Majnoon described by Steven intrigue me. Majnoon is a fragrance I would choose if I win. I follow @cafleurebonoffiical on instagram. Austria, EU

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’d like to win Azman’s “Majnoon”: it’s been something I’ve been interested in trying for a while now. I appreciate Michelyn’s review: she caused me to pick Azman’s “Majnoon” on account of how she described it. I found Steven’s review to be helpful: when he said that “Majnoon” is one of the most enchanting combinations of agarwood and coffee, I decided that I’d truly like to try it. I follow Cafleurebon on Instagram from (@regismonkton). I live in the U.S.A.

  • Such a great giveaway
Narcotica Dulce Diablo . Narcotica fragrances are praised by a lot of YouTube-ers , I’d like to see a full Dulce Diablo review on Cafleurebon
Roja Parfums Creation-E Parfum Cologne,Roja Dove sure knows his job , no wonder almost all fragrance enthusiasts puts him on such pedestal , it’s not just Sebastian. My favorite Roja Dove is Amber Aoud Absolue Precieux. Creation E Parfum Cologne is boozy and sweet goodness
Frapin1270 Extreme , long time ago I had L’Humaniste , fresh , and fun to wear mix of citrus, spices and lots of gin. 1270 Extreme Is boozy too , but warmer and sweeter
    Parfums de Marly Oajan
“Parfums de Marly Oajan (WAJE-AHN) is a grownup gourmand”

Are you saying I mispronounced Oajan for so long?
When I think Parfums de Marly , I always think Pegasus first, and Oajan second. The two smell fantastic , last over 10 hours on skin , and projects beyond strong – fills up a room. Compliments galore too.
AZMAN Majnoon , I love the complexity of AZMAN Majnoon , it’s woody, spicy, smoky with delicious dark coffee. It shows how a classy coffee fragrance should smell. Every morning, soon after I wake up, I take a strong coffee, and say Cheers to Life .
I can say “Good morning” , hopefully with AZMAN Majnoon , the fragrance i’d like to win
Thank you Michelyn, Steven and all the sponsors

  • Lovely reviews of fragrances I love ,some quite boozy, always a plus for me.
Roja Parfums Creation-E Parfum Cologne , must try in you love boozy fragrances
    Frapin1270 Extreme
Frapin I’m well aware of, mostly because of the gorgeous Cognac, I’m a huge fan of the Cognac and of course the fragrances. I own both 1270 , and 1270 Extreme, it’s not just the concentration the two fragrances do not smell the same, so owning both is not redundant. There is strong grape smell in 1270 Extreme, smells like a cocktail made with 1270.
Azman Majnoon . It wasn’t easy, but I sampled all current Azman fragrances, and Majnoon is the most appealing one to me. I’m surprised how Michelyn experience exclude the whiskey, Majnoon smells boozy to me. I’m thinking about the iconic Irish Coffee Cocktail.
    Parfums de Marly Oajan
First time I’ve smelled Oajan I was so WoW at the the smell, how conplex it was, and how it develops. There’s nothing overbearing, but the blend is really smooth
“On the Parfums de Marly site it is listed as masculine, but don’t worry ladies it is truly unisex, and is an ambery warm perfume where honey and cinnamon are sprinkled on peachy osmanthus.”
Yes , no doubt about it, Oajan is 100% unisex.
Love both of my Delina bottles, the original version, and the Exclusif, and I also bought Byerley for my dad, and he absolutely loves it.
I’d love to also have Oajan.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • What do we have here? According to Michelyn and Steven the best Fall fragrances 🙂
☆Narcotica Dulce Diablo . I know nothing about Narcotica, but cognac, Cacao, rum , apricot are all ingredients i love to cook with, and to smell
☆Roja Parfums Creation-E Parfum Cologne . I’m with Michelyn on this one ,when i think about Creation-E, i imagine hard to get invited into , old private gentleman’s club , with cognac and tobacco smell lingering all over it.
☆Frapin1270 Extreme . 1270 is good, but 1697 in my opinion is slightly better , smells like Spiced Rum Fruit Cake , candied rose is also present. I was not aware 1270 Extreme was a thing
☆ Parfums de Marly Oajan . Personally I know Parfums de Marly for Herod first , Makes me feel like I’m THE king of the castle. It’s a toss up for me between Herod and Oajan, for my favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance. Oajan smell like I’m having Cinnamon Rolls , and osmanthus tea infront of me.
☆Azman Majnoon . For having years , and years of experience with fragrances, and to say that Majnoon contains one of the best coffee notes is a true statement from Michelyn.
    My choice is Oajan
Appreciate both reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • Last night I slept with the window open for the first time since early June and the leaves in NYC are just beginning to change. I can feel the chilly breath of autumn on my neck and it is as welcome as a lover’s kiss. – Michelyn

On the contrary last night I slept with all windows closed since…I don’t exactly remember, but for months. It’s getting colder so fast
-Narcotica Dulce Diablo is new to me
    -Roja Parfums Creation-E Parfum Cologne
Adventurous, classy ,different fragrances with its own DNA , and look , in my opinion Roja Dove. Top boozy perfume
    -Frapin1270 Extreme
Frapin the alcohol beverage brand, and Frapin the fragrance brand are one , and the same , right? No wonder there’s brandy and cognac in 1270 Extreme
    -Parfums de Marly Oajan
You caught me off guard ….
    “WAJE-AHN is a grownup gourmand”
    Fantastic cinnamon and honey fragrance
-AZMAN Majnoon , sounds like a fairy tale
    If lucky I’d prefer Oajan
    Thanks for the draw

  • Wonderful review and video! I thought Michelyn’s reviews were so evocative and descriptive with their imagery, particularly when she describes the swirl of incense and spices n Azman Majnoon as “like multi colored autumnal leaves”. What a perfect description for the perfect fall scent! As a big lover of Majnoon i 10000% agree with her characterization!

And as for Steven’s video review, I love how thorough he is with each one, listing every major note, and how delicious he makes each one sound. I particularly enjoyed how he described Narcotica Dulce Diablo as so creamy, boozy, and silky and how much just talking about it makes him want to wear it. I love hearing a perfume enthusiast’s over-the-top passion for certain fragrances and it definitely makes me very eager to try Dulce Diablo!

I live in the US. I am following your new Instagram page @cafleruebonoffical and my Insta name is momo.liu.121.
If I had were to win I would pick PDM Oajan but i would be happy to win any of these fragrances!

  • I’m not a perfumer and I wear that perfume what I like, I haven’t tried both of them yet. And it is dilemma for me to choose which one.

    Thanks

  • Me and Joshua always love Steven’s reviews.
We always watch and appreciate the professionalism in which he delivers each presentation with. Would be our first Real pdm fragrance.
Up to this point we only have clones of pdm fragrances.
We’ll still be watching whether we win or not.
Steven is the best and we are truly hooked.

  • It’s very hard to choose among all these amazing fragrances because each of them are a cocktail of my favorites notes in a bottle!!. I love the spicy orientals all year long and also mix of sweet woody boozy leather gourmand notes!! Iwould love to wear Roja Dove Cologne and also Narcotica Dulce Diablo!! If all that is taken, I will be just a lucky and happy with Azman Majnoon
    GREETINGS FROM CINCINNATI OHIO

  • We just hit autumn – the weather cooled down overnight and I was shivering while riding home yesterday.

Excellent review on all these fragrances. MY favourite of the lot is Azman Majnoon. I’m a huge fan of Prin’s work and I would love to smell this. Such a ‘crazy’ fragrance and wonderful notes, especially that mix of agarwood, coffee and pomegrante to make things mellow and beautiful.

I would love to win Azman Majnoon.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I saw Steven video about the first part, I follow him in IG the same to you guys. I would prefer the Azman fragrance, since I have the Oajen from PDM.I love the way you have the feeling description about the perfumes, make me have the picture of the moments. I’m dying to start waiting them, and shine and feel great around people.

    Thank you,

    Fabian
