On June 10, 2021,The Fragrance Foundation Awards Winners 2021 were announced through a dedicated webinar hosted by President Linda G. Levy and  Chairman of the Board Jerry Vittoria, President of Fine Fragrance Worldwide to a global audience of fragrance lovers, journalist and industry notables. The prelude was a visually stunning film by Louie Schwartzberg, L.A. Director and Cinematographer known for his breathtaking time lapse photography, who was introduced by Oprah Winfrey. The presenters were the “who’s who” of fashion, music and film and included a radiant Isabella Rosselini, Andre Leon Talley (who is creating his own scent), Narciso Rodriguez, Christian Soriano, Thom Browne, Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Marc Jacobs (whose perfumes were a big winner today) and the remarkable Dolly Parton, who donated over a million dollars to research that helped fund the Modina Covid-19 vaccine’s development. Each presenter shared personal stories of their love of perfume  and their thoughts on fragrance. A common theme throughout the Award Ceremony was a new awareness of the healing and transformative power of scent emerging from the dark days of the pandemic.

The Fragrance Foundation honored Calice Becker, Vice President Perfumer & Director of the Givaudan Perfumery School with the Lifetime Achievement Perfumer Award; and Philippe Benacin, Chairman and CEO Interparfums.

  • Martin Ford says:

Plum in Cognac has got my full attention! I will probably never be able to smell it… Gotta hunt it down.

Wonderful article, dear Michelyn, acknowledging and celebrating success of those in the industry!
It is such a revelation to see one clapping for others, as it should be; which, unfortunately, has become rarer and rarer to see nowadays.

  • I’m going to have to try Ermenegildo Zegna Essenze Roman Wood Eau de Parfum! Congratulations to the winners.

  • Many congratulations to the winners,
and thank you to CaFleureBon for sharing the good news here.
Dior Homme EdT smells so different from its forbears,
but perhaps a new direction is the best choice for these times.
I will look for an opportunity to smell A Chant for the Nymph,
several others from The Alchemist’s Garden were quite interesting to my nose.

  • Congratulations to all!
Lancome Tresor in the Fragrance Hall of Fame-well deserved! (I could smell it fondly in my mind as soon as I read the name)
