All this house’s scents are created by the founder of the company, Pierre Mancera, from the highest quality raw ingredients; Cedrat Boise, Aoud Black Candy, and Roses & Chocolate gave me an introduction.
When it comes to Bertrand Duchaufour I find my favorites of his creations are those which are the deeper and heavier fragrances. . I was forced to re-examine that thought with the five Eau de Toilettes M. Duchaufour composed for Historiae: Orangerie du Roy, Hameau de la Reine, Bouquet du Trianon, Rose de France, and Violette Imperiale.

Of the first fragrances from Le Labo the one that was the most interesting did in fact have the named note front and center but the other ingredients definitely were there to keep it off balance. This fragrance is Rose 31 by perfumer Daphne Bugey.
