L’Artisan Parfumeur is reintroducing Olivia Giacobetti’s ode to a day at the fair, Jour de Fête, as a limited edition. It will be available online and at select stockists beginning in March 2014.
If you have never tried Olivia Giacobetti’s perfumes I highly suggest starting at Diptyque Philosykos as it is very much the beginning of a scented journey which hopefully has many more fragrances yet to come.
Late last year there was a rumor that she would be releasing a new IUNX fragrance. At the end of March 2013 this rumor turned out to be true as L’Arbre was released. L’Arbre is exactly what I hoped for as Mme Giacobetti turns sandalwood into something diaphanous but so full of structure it is endlessly fascinating.
The brief must be a moment of clarity, it must create the first spark – and it must be compelling. And I imagine perfumers are seeing many boring, uninspiring, me-too briefs. When you work for a brand like L’Artisan Parfmeur, the bar is very high-Nick Seward
