Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos Review + Under the Andalusian Sky Draw

Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos review

Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos collage by Michelyn via @ramonmonegal and photos of Tunisian orange flower, mandarin orange and petitgrain via Sebastian Jara©

Spanish Perfumer Ramon Monegal is inspired by the beauty of his native country, using ingredients to tell scented stories of terroir. Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos bottles the citrus groves in Andalusia, famed for their orange and lemon trees which waft the intoxicating aromas of the orange blossom tree on a bright summer day. From the Memories collection, Entre Naranjos translated from Spanish means “Among Orange Trees”.

Senor Monegal created Entre Naranjos as a gift for friends who attended his 50th birthday. He was inspired by the verses that the Andalusian poet Antonio Machado wrote about orange and lemon trees in one of his poems- I believe it to be ‘Foreign in My Own Land”

But I was born in Andalusia.
And filled with childhood memories,
I dream of singing her songs—
of sunshine through waving fronds,
storks perched in bell towers,
the cities beneath an indigo sky
bereft of women, deserted squares
where orange trees hunch blazing
with fruit, the shadowy orchards
where the pale fruit of lemon trees
shines in a fountain’s water.”

  • Sweet oranges, in time for spring and summer! Its interesting that they were pulled from Neiman Marcus. The notes sound amazing and I would love to try it! USA

  • Shamrock1313 says:

Haven’t tried this house but Sebastian does such a wonderful job breaking it down like he always does.
The citrus, Petit grain, vanilla along with other notes sounds great. The orange note is gets my attention – love orange in frags.
Thanks for the giveaway and stay safe Cafleurbon staff.

  • Denise Dobbins says:

Who doesn’t love orange in fragrances? Sebastian is a true educator of exquisite scents and he seems right on the money for this fragrance.
    Greetings from Georgia, USA

  • Orange balm – that is exactly what one needs at this time. Thanks Sebastian for a nice and clear description of Entre Naranjos in your review. I can feel myself among orange trees now – evoking a fresh, relaxing, energizing and uplifting feeling. Thanks for the review and the draw – wishing everyone the best. Writing from USA.

  • Bryant Worley says:

I appreciated, as always, Sebastian’s enthusiasm for the fragrance, along with his thorough breakdown of it, touching on all the olfactory facets to be expected. As for Michelyn’s intro, gotta appreciate a good poem, especially one that causes one to visualize. I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • vanillabean says:

Can always expect Sebastian to offer an informative and helpful review of a scent. I never go for citrus scents, but the inclusion of the petitgrain adding a bitter green note is appealing to me, along with the patchouli. The poem was lovely. I’m a fan of Lorca but I’ve never read Machado—I might have to read him now.

    Thank you

  • Shane Bice says:

I enjoy how enthusiastic Sebastian is about orange fragrances. I also thought it was neat to learn this fragrance was created for a friend. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  • Sebastian’s review was a perfect description of notes combined with an alluring and intriguing sense of being in the coast is Spain in an orange grove… and reminded me of a time spent in Valencia… I can’t wait to sample this fragrance…

  • scentofjole says:

I enjoyed Sebatian’s video. As always, his description of the fragrance is thorough and it makes me want to purchase it! A mixture of orange, Neroli and vanilla sounds like something I would love in a floral/citrus fragrance. Thanks for the giveaway – California USA

  • I always love to drink orange juice when I was a little kid and now I still do,I always love the citrus scent such as in the Terre D’Hermes. Any citrus based along with vetiver scents reminds me of nice summer vacation in a white sandy beach.I’m looking forward to trying out this new scent that’s captured in a bottle.

  • I really liked how Sebastian related the fragrance back to memories of playing around and on orange trees as a child. Also that all parts of the orange tree are incorporated. From the introduction it was nice to find out from Michelyn that Ramon Monegal created this as a gift for attendees of his 50th birthday party and the poem that inspired him. I haven’t tried anything from this house yet but want to try this as well as a number of others like Impossible Iris, Cherry Musk, and Flamenco. From CT USA. Thanks for the generous draw. Hope everyone is safe and well. Thanks a lot.

  • Mohammad Al Rashid says:

I love orange based perfume. Sebastian’s reviews are always great. He gave honest thought about the perfume and his recommendation to wear the perfume in spring or fall is useful for me.

  • Sibyl Haynes says:

Hello- well I enjoyed Sebastian ‘s description of climbing on orange trees as a child and exploring their various aromas: orange blossom, orange leaves, orange fruit, and I imagine orange peel. This perfume sound mouth watering, heart-touching and divine!

  • I would love to walk thru a grove of orange trees in bloom in Andalusia. Thanks for the beautiful poem, Ms Michelyn. Sebastian says it has a green bitterness due to the petitgrain, which is fine with me. I do love the house of Ramon Monegal. Thanks for the opportunity to sniff! Mich USA

  • wallygator88 says:

I love scents that have an orange note in it – Cedrat Boise, the Terre D’Hermes series.

    I haven’t tried this house/perfumer before.

Thank you for the honest review, Sebastian.

    Regards from WI, USA

  • Andrei Artimon says:

This would be something i love , orange is one of my favourite notes and fruits , never tried something from the house , new york , usa .

  • Sebastian’s review really piqued my interest in this fragrance. He really knows his stuff when it comes to describing the nuances of niche scents. Michelyn’s introduction was very informative and interesting as well. I’ve never tried anything from this house before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • HiMyNameIsWaste says:

Entre Naranjos is one of my favorite Ramon Monegal scents, but I’ve never owned it myself. “A bottled citrus grove…””the finest petigrain oil…” = perfection

  • LeoGraceous says:

Would like to smell what a Spanish orange grove in a bottle smells like.

Alot has been said about Ramon and his artistry, would like to smell and see it.

  • Hashim Madani says:

It would be very interesting to contrast Entre Naranjos with my childhood memories of Andalusian orange & lemon groves. A striking memory to this day is seeing oranges and lemons growing on one tree. Andalusians mastered the art of growing an orange tree, then cutting the bark horizontally, throwing away the top part, and planting a lemon seed right in the center of the remaining bark. You can visually see the protrusion on the circumference of the bark where the lemon seed was planted. Sebastian makes it more appealing with the orange flower and powdery vanilla notes he described. VA, USA.

  • fourierist says:

I love how Sebastian describes climbing around orange trees in his youth! Sounds wonderful and provides a great image for the scent. Michelyn reminds us of the poetry of the Spanish soul – brilliant. I would love to try this scent that sounds so evocative of Spain.

  • Trinity33 says:

Citrus is such a joyful, uplifting note in fragrances. I love the references to Andalusia. I remember strolling through the streets of Seville a few years ago and the scent of oranges permeated the air. Great review as always Sebastian. I’ve not tried anything from this house before. I’m in MD, USA

  • I loved the poem that Michelyn included in the review and Sebastian’s review explaining the different types of orange notes in the fragrance, petigrain, neroli, orange blossom and patchouli. I have a great fan of orange notes in fragrances and this sounds like a wonderful fragrance for anyone who wants to be among the orange trees. I live in the US

  • Camille Sheil says:

This is such a wonderful sounding fragrance! Besides the notes, I was so happy to hear that this was specifically created for the 50th birthday party attenders! What a gift! What a milestone at 50 too! Sebastian talked about the sweetness and bitterness, the powderyness not syrupy-ness of this fragrance. The bottle design is gorgeous! While I haven’t sampled this fragrance or any other from Roman Monegal’s line, I love fragrances that are more life-like. Not photographic, but impressionistic. And again, to put a grove in a bottle for his birthday party guests….what a gift! This is such a gift as well! Thanks for this opportunity!!

I live in New Hampshire USA!

  • thiagovidotto says:

I lived in a house in the 90’s that had a orange tree on its backyard. The smell of orange trees, blossoms, and leaves really brings me back to my childhood. It is cool to see that Sebastian had the same experience. But I was born in Brazil – and I am also a Virgo! 😀

  • wildevoodoo says:

I wonder why they stopped selling it at Neiman’s? That’s a shame. The scent seems to capture the scent of an orange grove in various stages of development, what with the petitgrain, the orange blossom absolute and neroli, and the fresh mandarins with the patchouli adding a woody/earthy quality. I’d never read that Antonio Machado poem but I really enjoyed it, I love Andalusia and wish I could go back! I am in the US 🙂

  • I had a small blood orange tree and the smell of citrus blossoms on the breeze is intoxicating, exactly as described.

  • PingWei Ho says:

Always enjoying Sebastian‘s demonstration about fragrance as usual, and this one seems very interesting since I like citrus and orange fragrance so much, my favorite one is Atelier’s Orange Sanguine, and I’m really hope that I may be able to try this one!! Thank you!!- Boston USA

  • Always love the way that Sebastian breaks down the notes of a fragrance. Entre Naranjos sounds perfect for the Spring. We need some brightening up right now and this just might do the trick. Many thanks for the generous draw. I’m in the USA

  • Creating a perfume as a gift for friends for attending birthday party…what a nice gesture. Am intrigued by Sebastian’s comment about how this captures the essence of an entire orange tree. Citrusy, floral plus a bit of sparkle and powder sound fantastic. Regards from the USA.

  • This sweet orange scent sounds amazing, I grew up around lots of oranges and I hope it brings back those memories. Also the reviewer did an absolutely amazing job with describing and braking down all the notes.
    Greetings from California, USA.

  • Sebastian’s Description of the fragrance made my mouth water. I understand that the fragrance isn’t a gourmand but when he was describing it i just kept seeing these sun-drenched juicy oranges, and then I read the intro and see the collage and that image is yet even more reinforced. The fragrance sounds delightful and I would simply love to try it. Also I loved the inclusion of the poem. I live in Tennessee U.S.A.

  • Armando Esparza Jr says:

I enjoyed Sebastian’s description of running around orange trees in orange groves as a young boy smelling the fruits and leaves.
Michelyn’s introduction was a fun fact moment as it is was mentioned that this fragrance was a gift to all of Ramon’s friends for attending his 50th birthday party. Fun fact!
    Great review as always!

  • Kyle Stevens says:

I’ve always wanted to try this house and I’ve never had an orange fragrance.

  • From Sebastian’s review, Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos seems like a citrusy gourmand that keeps the fragrance both fresh and warm at the same time. It looks suitable for all weathers.

  • Amanda32828 says:

Like always Sebastian reviews are very detailed and educational. His insides and opinions on any fragrance are very important to me. He is definitely a fragrance connoisseur and a knowledgeable fragrance collector. Based on what I saw and read about this fragrance, I can anticipate that this is an amazing fragrance. The description of the notes and the plain conversation about the inspiration of the creator makes you just want to transport yourself to Spain and visit the beautiful mosques standing all over this beautiful country and most important in Andalusia. Always wanted to visit Andalusia and learn more about the Moorish influence in the architecture and off course visit the Alhambra. Spain have to wait for now but not forever. Thank you for a wonderful article, review and poem. I’m commenting from Orlando, Fl.

  • Love citrus in the warm weather. I like the idea of the powdery touch in this one. Always nice to know an aspect of a perfumer’s inspiration. US

  • I adore citrus fragrances, and this one sounds like a dream. The way he described the top notes has me so excited! I hope I win

  • I enjoyed this video very much!! Great job, sebastian.
This perfumes sounds amazing- citusy, floral, with the powdery touch- exactly for spring-summer days.
I liked Michelyn’s introduction too- simple and very intrigued.
    USA

  • Thank you Sebastian for introducing another beauty to us. I have been in an orange grove and can imagine how Entre Naranjos must smell like. It was also a nice touch for Michelyn to let us know that this was made for friends – now I need to befriend a master perfumer 🙂 I’m in USA

  • Hello Sebastian, I look forward to hopefully winning a bottle of thisMagnificent sounding perfume. I’ve been watching you for a little over a year now and love your videos, you are usually spot on.

    Best,
    Brent McCoy

  • Sebastian’s description sounded like something I’ve always wanted an orange fragrance combining different aspects of orange that has longevity. Yes please. And I love a bit of patchouli mixed in with fruit. One of the best combinations.
It was interesting to learn from Michelyn’s introduction that Ramon created this as a gift for his friends on his 50th birthday. I just passed my 50th and wish I had thought of giving a gift to my friends.
    I am in the USA

  • If Sebastian recommends, no doubt it is a hit. Haven’t tried any of his fragrances. The bottle is luxe. Lucky those who were gifted on his birthday. Love orange/ floral fragrances with sweet/ powdery touch in the drydown. Would love to win and enjoy this beauty. IL, USA

  • I love Sebastian’s channel and always check his reviews and suggestions. He is so informative and personable. This perfume will definitely be on my lucky scent wishlist. Oddly enough I watched Sebastian ‘s video in an Orange scented bath, and I can smell the Orange peel and lemon tea cake i just baked cooling downstairs. I was reading this poem aloud and looking at the beautiful photo of oranges and blossom, amazed at how transported I was before it occurred to me that I really was smelling oranges. I would love to win.

  • bigscoundrel says:

That’s nice how Sebastian tied Entre Naranjos into a personal story. It sounds like a nice spring fragrance. The inspiration coming from a poem is interesting. New Jersey, USA.

  • ndecker800 says:

Sebastian always does a great job explaining a fragrance – not just the note breakdown but how it wears on skin, its longevity and sillage, and other important factors. I love citrus fragrances but especially orange ones so I was intrigued by this apparent citrus bomb!
Michelyn’s introduction went into detail about the inspiration and history of this fragrance. What a great memory for those who attended Ramon Monegal’s birthday this scent will provide – and it evokes a happy thought for the rest of us, too!

  • patrick_348 says:

I especially liked the poem in Michelyn’s introduction. I was fascinated by the way Sebastian described the mixing of all the different facets of the orange tree, and how that tied into his childhood memories. In the US in NC.

  • Nancy Sternberg Goodman says:

This sounds delightful. I love how Sebastian describes all facets of the fragrance and am especially drawn to the mild powderiness that he talks about. And I love the poem, Michelyn. It’s a lovely “getaway” in my mind. Thanks for the drawing!

  • Steve Chachere says:

It sounds wonderful! I could already imagine sitting outside on in my outdoor living room ,enjoying a nice cigar on a sunny spring morning smelling this fresh scent.

  • Sebastian is always a very detailed reviewer. This fragrance Entre Naranjos he describes with oranges, oranges, and petit grain, patchouli, and vanilla. This sounds incredible and beautiful. How nice to create a fragrance for your friends. So nice also Michelyn to include the poem. Andalusia is a beautiful part of Spain. You can picture it with the wonderful words. Thank you and stay well. USA

This fragrance sounds delightful. Love the scents of orange blossom and neroli and Sebastian’s description of playing among the orange trees as a kid just brings it to life. Another great review! Thank you from Chicago, IL

  • Sebastian always has great fragrance reviews. He is one of the best, very informative. Oranges and orange blossom a great combination.

  • I really enjoyed Michelyn’s inclusion of the poem that inspired the fragrance — it is beautiful, and I’m not familiar with this poet, so I have something new to explore! In Sebastian’s review, I loved his references to childhood memories of orange trees. Thanks for the draw — I live in the USA.

  • love the smell of orange blossom. always reminds me of the fabulous springtime and sunshine. it was interesting to see it was created as a birthday gift for friends – so cool. USA

  • Angela M. Boyer says:

Oh my gosh, this perfume sounds fabulous, I don’t own an orange bomb, I have a bitter orange tree here at home (from which I burn stems leaves and skins )in my fireplace but I have NOT found my true orange flower perfume love yet. This really could be it. These trees were outside my window on vacation a few years back, along with Huachatchee trees (acacia farensiana) and literally that experience pushed me down the rabbit hole.

  • Jack3Tlife says:

This sweet orange scent sounds amazing, I grew up around lots of oranges and I hope it brings back those memories. Also the reviewer did an absolutely amazing job with describing and braking down all the notes.

  • I love how Sebastian describes climbing around orange trees in his youth! Sounds wonderful and provides a great image for the scent. Michelyn reminds us of the poetry of the Spanish soul – brilliant. I would love to try this scent that sounds so evocative of Spain. From MA, USA

  • The scent of orange trees absolutely brings me back to my childhood, much like Sebastian. I grew up with orange trees growing right outside my bedroom window. The scent of orange blossoms is very comforting to me as a result. This fragrance sounds divine.

  • This is such a favorite of mine. It wears very well in the summer too Sebastian. It doesn’t become cloying as one might think. The citrus notes on my skin shine. You nailed it about being under an orange tree it’s just so beautiful. Also the bottle design is a great addition to any collection as it stands on its own. Great poem and what a great 50th gift to friends. A true beauty amongst so many fragrances. In the USA. What an amazing giveaway. Thank you kindly.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Sebastian painted a nice scent picture of this one as I’m imagining the smell in my mind as I watched his review. Interesting nugget of info that the best petit grain comes from Paraguay. Michelin pointed that Señor Monegal gave this as a gift at his party…wish I was invited, haha. Appreciate the opportunity for the giveaway. -Virginia, USA

  • Ooh, I have wanted to try this for a long time, and I love orange blossom, so I would love to win a bottle. I didn’t know that Sr monegal created it for his birthday, and think that is a lovely story.. I trust Sebastian, and I know he loves ob, so if he likes this, I think i will too. Thx for the draw and for the reviews! In the us.

  • m.r.everything says:

I have always like orange fragrances but was really turned to loving orange scents quite recently when Sarah McCartney sent me a sample of The Orange Tree (a fragrance not yet properly released). That fragrance made me fall in love, not just like orange scents, but love them! It is so amazing and gorgeous, when it is launched, I will definitely be nabbing a 100mL bottle! Entre Naranjos now has me intrigued as well…. Sebastian has given us such a lovely review on Entre Naranjos and has definitely made me add another one to the list! I love how Sebastian says it has a heavier feel to it. Although I love citrus fragrances, I feel they tend to be fleeting quite often, I’m sure how most people feel about citruses… so to hear that this one is on the heavier side, really adds to the desire of Entre Naranjos. Like Sebastian, I also like to wear fragrances at night, right before bed… I like to test the performance, and see if it lasts through the night, but I also just like sniffing it then too. I am not doing anything else but laying in bed so it is a great time to focus on what I am wearing while slowly drifting off to sleep. I love how Ramon created this scent for his 50th birthday guests… what a party favor!!! Thank you Sebastian, for your take on Entre Naranjos… it was worth checking out for sure! Thank you EuroPerfumes for your generosity, as always, and for giving us this opportunity! It is appreciated more than you know! Thank you, as always, to the lovely Michelyn, for bringing us this content, and for everything you do for this community! Without you, none of this would be possible and people would not be brought together quite like they are here in the CaFleureBon family! Sending love and bright, juicy orange comments from Delaware, US. Good luck to all and stay safe!

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian’s review was a bit shorter and to the point than other videos. I also liked seeing the bottle and the way it works. I liked the use of the poem in Michelyn’s intro. I’m in the USA for the giveaway.

  • diegopineda says:

From Michelyn’s Intro: What I found most interesting about the introduction was the origin story of this perfume. It is very nice to hear that he created as a gift to commemorate his 50th birthday.

From Sebastian Review: As always very thorough with his reviews but what piqued my interest was that he said that its is a heavy citric scent so its not suitable for a hot summer day.

    From GA USA

  • Michelyn’s intro describing a bright summer day and including the lovely poem, as well as Sebastian’s memory of actually being in an orange grove were very evocative. I love it when a fragrance transports you to a beautiful place and it sounds like this one will. Thanks for the information on this scent and the chance.

  • This sounds like a delightful fragrance for the summer. Of all citruses, there is something about the ‘naranjos’ smell in summer, and I would love to try this one. Always enjoy watching Sebastian’s videos for its simplicity, and loved Michelyln’s introduction with the poem. Texas.

  • I haven’t tried this house and I like the idea of a citrus that is maybe too much for summer. So many citrus fragrances are of the “light summery” variety. Thank you Sebastian for another fantastic review. I’m in the US, thanks for the draw!

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Sebastian always manages to get me excited about a fragrance. And orange fragrances are so uplifting! I love the combo of orange and vanilla as well. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • There’s a relaxed vibe about Andalusia. Like if you listen to the music, it’s usually more laid back and romantic. And you can see that in parts of the Arab world too, like Lebanon, which is also big on orange blossom.
Re: the video, mostly since this sounds like a beast mode take an the classic mediterranean smelling fragrances. It’s not hard to find that kind of a smell, but finding one which lasts is a different story.

Im in the US. thanks for the draw

  • I love how Sebastian said the fragrance reminds him of running through the orange groves as a kid, and how Michelyn’s poem sort of seems to speak to that exact memory! So cool!

  • Robert Pinedo says:

Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved oranges. I grew up in the Central Valley of California, so quality citrus was always available. My grandfather still has the lemon and orange trees on his property that I played in as a kid, and I love going back to see him just to re-embrace that pleasant smell. When I was a kid my father would take me out to volunteer with our church, partnering with local farmers to pick oranges to give to the homeless. I still have a distinct memory of this, and all of this combined creates a great space in my heart for oranges. When I watch Sebastian’s review, I saw that he too has pleasant memories of oranges in his childhood, and this relation is what I liked the most about his review.

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, great review of Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos. This sounds amazing. I love when orange fragrances use all three aspects of the orange tree: petitgrain, orange, and orange blossom/flower. To add more depth this also throws in neroli, patchouli, amber, and vanilla. I know this would really appeal to my taste. Michelyn, great introduction about how Senor Monegal created Entre Naranjos as a gift for friends who attended his 50th birthday and was inspired by a poem and how this relates to his experience walking through orange groves. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • I enjoyed hearing about Sebastian’s experience playing in and around orange trees when he was young, and how the authentic power of this fragrance brings back some of those memories and transports him to that place in his life in the way that only good perfume can do. I also appreciated hearing his insight on the distinction between orange flower and neroli coming down to differences in the way the same flower is distilled.

As for Michelyn’s introduction, I appreciated the full context she provided by including both the details behind the origin of the scent, as well as finding and including the actual poem which was responsible for inspiring Monegal to create the fragrance. I am in IL, USA, and would love to be entered. Thank you.

  • Entre Naranjos sounds wonderful , full of life , like a bitter orange cake 🙂
I happen to have one Ramon Monegal bottle called Bravo. Got it 99% full from a neighbor. Unwanted gift…
Smells like a hookah to me. A gem no doubt , but also a proof you should not buy fragrances for someone else, without even asking him/her , or even know his/her taste.
Appreciate Michelyn story , Sebastian review, and the giveaway campaign

  • This sounds like a juicy fragrance for Spring and Summer. The orange note stands out the most for me. I’d like to get a chance and try this. Thanks

Not that you ask , but I’ll share, Cherry Musk is my favorite one from the house. Compliments are really important to me, and if you’re like me Cherry Musk will get you be noticed , smelling amazing of course.

  • Andalusia I’ve seen TV only, and I don’t know the orange groves Michelyn mentioned.Entre Naranjos feels classy, it’s not a childish sugary orange soda scent. It’s interesting how it was created, a gift for close friends.
The only Ramon Monegal fragrance that I know is Flamenco, jammy sweet almost a gourmand , with over 10 hours lasting power.
    Thanks. USA

  • One of my favorite fragrances ever is Impossible Iris – Ramon Monegal. Sweet fruity-floral that always makes me happy. Entre Naranjos brings warmer weather back in our lives .It’s still pretty chilly where i live .

  • I like getting to read and know what inspires perfumers in creating different fragrances. I love Sebastian’s review because he broke it down in a way that I could visualize and imagine the different notes. I love citrus

  • Sebastian review is spot on. I have smelled it , and it bitter fresh, almost acerbic. To me leans a bit…both masculine, and mature.
I like it a lot. It’s not my favorite Ramon Monegal, Cherry Musk is , but it’s still really good fragrance.
