Purple Reign by Tanja Bochnig of April Aromatics is a 100% all natural fragrance of purple empowerment and love. This fragrance is centered on the purple flame, a unique light of subtle realms that supports the enchantment of our vibrations, and was designed to improve self-awareness.  I have been studying energies and self-awareness for quite some time and when I was asked to review this new fragrance I was thrilled at the opportunity.

From the moment the fragrance is sprayed on the skin you immediately notice the exceptional quality of the ingredients, especially the natural lilac tincture that Tanja used. This fragrance is calming and regal, almost therapeutic and if one was to close their eyes while they experience it they might see themselves greeted by a comforting purple flame.  The violets, lavender, and osmanthus petals in the heart create a wonderful floral bouquet that uplift the spirit and align all the chakras while the jasmine flowers, orris root, and oppoponax in the base create an olfactory bed fit for royalty. Regarding royalty, Tanja told me that Purple Reign is intended to trigger the recognition of our inner Queen and King and remind us that we all carry the highest essence and potential right inside of us. My skies were grey and cloudy during the time I received my sample, and my spirit was more than grateful to remind  me of the light.

When It Reigns It Pours by The Nosey Artist

My heart’s been stained though I can’t complain,

To ease the pain there’s Purple Reign

Violet shines through my windowpane,

I’ve got a lot to gain once I embrace the flame

Refinement…

I’m going through refinement,

Time to pay my dues for what I got on consignment

Can’t see what I did wrong to make you speak so violent,

But then again the both of us know that love is blinded

Royal Priest - Love Merlot

Art by Royal Priest Love Merlot

I see petals falling from the heavens,

I can smell the jasmine on your skin

I hope that we can soon make an amendment,

And be each other’s King  & Queen again

The Purple Reign is rapping on the roof top,

Cascading down my window as I look in awe

I hear my heart beating through my tube sock,

If you help me pick it up I swear I’ll give my all

Give my heart,

Give my soul

Give me light,

And I’ll give you gold

Give my heart,

Give my soul,

Your flames give me a feeling that I can’t control

  • I haven’t smelled any April Aromatics. This is one I think I’d like, every since I first read of it on this site. I like things purple so am curious to see how a perfumer interprets the color. 🙂 US

  • The Nosey Artist’s rap is fun and fitting and his review was spot on. I tried a small sample of Purple Reign – the first April Aromatics I tried – and love it! It is incredible. Would love to win the purse spray. US.

  • How lovely! Violets and lavender notes – it sounds beautiful!! I’d love to win a sample of this!
    I live in the U.S.

  • I love the idea that the scent is both calming and regal.
I have not tried any of the April Aromatics, sorry to say.
I keep eyeing the sample set that she has available, and maybe I’ll gift myself with that soon.
    Thanks for the draw!

  • Sorry in advance for my bad effort… 🙂

    The Nosey Artist’s Rap
    about the Purple Reign
Has made it sound so great
there is absolutely nothing to hate
    You have helped me imagine
    how wonderous it can be
    I’m really hoping….
that winner will be me! 🙂

Unfortunately i have not yet tried any April Aromatics but i do dream some day of owning a few of Tanja’s beautiful scents and Purple Reign would be my first choice every time. Thanks for the draw – this terrible rapper is in the UK.

I have several April Aromatics fragrances and love them all. I have not yet tried Purple Reign though. I loved the metaphor of the purple flame. It sounds like a beautiful and uplifting fragrance. Thanks so much for the beautiful review.

Voila, I was guessing if Tanja paid tribute to the color purple, there has to be lavendar in Purple Reign and, indeed, there it is 🙂 That Mistys Mountain in China looks amazing place to visit. I think Tanja did pay special attention to ingredients in creating this because the color I associate with hyacinth is also purple! thank you so much for the wonderful draw.

  • I actually related that rap to my current situation. I can very much relate to the idea of refinement right now. The fragrance sounds interesting and I have not tried anything from this line so I am hopeful!

  • I thought the review really bought this fragrance to life. I thought the rap was really intriguing. I have smelled fragrances from April Aromatics before my favorite being Bohemian Spice.
    I am James from America

  • While I have yet to try anything from the April Aromatics line, I’ve been wanting to try Calling All Angels for a while now. I think thanks to this review Purple Reign may have just bumped that from the top spot on the “to try” list. From the description of the fragrance to the pictures used, the review makes the scent sound as would evoke feelings of tranquility and serenity. The first two lines of the rap prose clenched it for me, “Though my heart’s been stained I can’t complain, To ease the pain there’s Purple Reign”. I think I need this in my life! Thanks for the chance. I live in the US.

  • I loved the rap prose, and love the visual of purple reign pouring down the window. I have not tried anything from April Aromatics, and I am in the US.

  • Wonderful review, I have very enjoyed to read it. And I have also very liked the rap prose too, very interesting. I have never had a chance to try any of April Aromatics perfume, but I sure of it, that those are all fabulous. I live in Europe. Thank you for the chance.

  • I love the line “i hear my heart beating through my tube sock” hahaha. I can’t say I’ve experienced that – but I have heard my heart beating through some interesting spots. I haven’t tried many from AA, but I’m particularly curious about Unter den Linden. I haven’t found a lot of lavender scents that I love, but the combination with lilac and osmanthus sounds interesting. Thanks for the draw, I’m in the US.

  • pursejunkie says:

“I hear my heart beating through my tube sock?” Now that’s an image!
I’m curious to try this and other AA fragrances.
    U.S.

  • I love the use of evocative language in the review. I’ve tried several from AA and love Calling All Angels so far. Thanks for the draw.

  • Those lyrics are so evocative and poetic! Purple Reign would be a bit of a challenge for me, I’m not usually a fan of purple florals… But I’m never one to back down from a challenge and I really respect the quality of April Aromatics! My favorite is Tempted Muse. <3

  • Nice poem!! I like the line about violet shining through my windowpane. Purple is my signature color, I’d love to win. Thanks.

  • I like violet and lavender notes, I’m hoping this is unisex smelling and not too floral. Regarding the poem, this line was interesting, “Time to pay my dues for what I got on consignment”. I like the scent from this house, Ray of Light. I saw this one in a draw or two, and would love to try some. USA

  • Thank you for the thoughtful and insightful review of Purple Reign. Very glad to hear lilac is included. In fragrance lilac is delightful, a purple note I don’t encounter often enough. Refinement stands out as the word for me to remember in The Nosey Artist’s rap. Royally played! Many thanks for the draw.

  • It really sounds gorgeous. I liked the quote that opened the review; I”ve been going through a rough patch, and it made me feel better.

  • Great review, I enjoyed to read it and the rap prose is very creative, very interesting. I have never had a chance to try any of April Aromatics perfume, but I’d like to try it as soon as I can for sure.
I’m in th US. Thank you for the draw.

  • Jennifer Wertz says:

What a wonderfully animated review. I can see many images of the color purple and its associations. I have yet to try April Aromatics but many facebook fragrance forums praise the company and its original and genuine products. I sincerely would love to try Purple Reign and what a fitting name for a gorgeous, exciting new classic.

  • I love that this is akin to self awareness and reminding us of our inner Queen or King! I live in the US and thanks for the draw!

  • Great read! I’m a big fan of April Aromatics and have wanted to try this fragrance for a while. I also thought the rap poem was very clever. My favorite from the house is Erdenstern. I’m in Canada and thanks for the draw!

  • I enjoyed the prose of Nosey Artist always in high spirits and inspiring words!!! I liked especially the metaphor of the purple flame.
It sounds an amazing perfume Purple Reign reminds me Princes song Purple rain
I have experienced Rosenlust and have fallen in love with this smell. April Aromatics do amazing perfume creations and all natural!!!
Thank you for the lovely review and draw as well.
    I live in EU.

  • I have never tried any fragrances from this house, but after reading this, I’m definitely interested! I love the sound of lilac in it, it makes for a great spring scent

    I’m a Canadian reader

  • I’ve been on the prowl for more lavender since I gradually fell in love with Vero Profumo Kiki, and I love opoponax and I wish it featured prominently in more fragrances. I’m feeling the new agey, relaxing vibe I’m getting from this review… I think the best “purple” fragrances with lavender have that soothing, clarifying effect. I’ve never tried any April Aromatics. I’m in the US, thanks for the draw!
