Scents of place. No one born and bred in a city can walk the streets, enter a building, see a garden, attend a concert and not want to bottle each story. Creative director Alessandro Brun, best known for Masque Milano, has done just that with the new MILANO FRAGRANZE, eight distinctive fragrances, previewed to a select group of perfume lovers around the world via Google Meet on June 24, 2021. The inaugural line was created by four women perfumers.

I have traveled to Milano for Esxence and attended the launches of Masque Milano L’Atessa, Romanza, and Tango. I was so busy at the vendors’ stalls that I didn’t have time nor did I study the rich history and sites of Milan (including the oldest church Milan Basilica originally built in Roman Times of 355 A.D. and the first shopping center Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II completed in 1865). Steve Gavrielato of Redolessence and Cafleurebon and Alessandro Brun Milano Fragranze and Masque Milano

Alessandro Brun creative Director and Steven Gavrielatos

Prior to the Google Meet, ÇaFleureBon Video Content Journalist Contributor Steven Gavrielatos of Redolessence interviewed Alessandro via ZOOM early this week and Alessandro discussed the origin story of each fragrance as Steven spoke about his first impressions.

Spoiler: These are the four favorites of both Steven and Michelyn:

MILANO FRAGRANZE NAVIGLIO: As Alessandro told Steven, every Italian fragrance line starts with at least one great cologne! NAVIGLIO suggests the working-class men washing their clothes in the canal.  With notes of lavender, bergamot and vetiver, this wears more fresh citrus then soapy. (Michelle Moelhausen)

MILANO FRAGRANZE BASILICA: Incense and labdanum capture the mystical aura of this holy place but is surprisingly not “churchy —offset by balsamic, pine nuances and candle wax. (Violaine Collas)

MILANO FRAGRANZE LA PRIMA: Opera- a subject Alessandro Brun knows well. In LA PRIMA he imagined a young lady wearing red lipstick and a fur stole attending her first opera. Her beauty sets her apart from the wealthy older women in the balcony. LA PRIMA is a profusion of sensual flowers: Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Osmanthus take center stage. The Fur accord is created using Vanilla and Ambergris. (Violaine Collas)

MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA Review

Photo by Editor Ermano Picco© Il Bacio at the Pinacoteca di Brera

MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA: Every fragrance collection needs an outstanding rose/patchouli perfume and this one is exuberantly spiced with saffron. In 2015, I went to the Pinacoteca di Brera Museum just so I could see the famous painting Il Bacio  by Francesco Hayez. Wearing MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA, I imagine the couple stepping out of the painting and coming to life when the museum closes to the public. (Violaine Collas).

Be sure to watch the entire video. Learn about MILANO FRAGRANZE GALLERIA with its powdery iris opening and leather base. CORTILE (meaning courtyard), a coffee scented jasmine, DIURNO, a Fougere with a twist of Amaretto and DERBY, an exhilarating floral with tuberose, galbanum and musk.

I love how Stephens reviews are always very sensible and easy to understand.
I would choose Naviglio. I live in rural Wisconsin.

  • Mark Jackson says:

I really like your videos…. I have spend nearly 4,000 dollars. Just watching you and Carlos❤

  • joshuabrian says:

Steven is a great content creator that’s obviously passionate about his job. Always thorough and descriptive. If I were to win, I would probably go with NAVIGLIO. Just seems super safe yet lovely. From USA

  • AleksCipri says:

I love Steven’s videos, he is an amazing person and very knowledgeable. I was very exited when I saw his interview with Alessandro Brun. Masque Milano is one of my absolute favorite brands and I am so so very excited to try his new MILANO FRAGRANZE line. I also love how these are inspired with Milan, which is an amazing city I really love visiting. Out of the current fragrances, the one I would choose is BASILICA, because I just adore incense fragrances. Particularly those which are not too smoky and too churchy, just like this one. Also, I have to comment that these bottles are insanely beautiful! I’m from Illinois, US.

  • I believe this might be the first time I have seen Steven interview a perfumer, but maybe not. His passion and love for perfume is so evident. In maryland.

  • Tremell Stevens says:

After having watched this review, I am now interested in trying, at least, most of these new fragrances. I appreciate discovering new fragrances which has strong overall performance and smells good at the same time. I hope I win a bottle. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  • Steven is by and away one of the most consistent and enjoyable reviewers on YouTube. Professional, knowledgeable, and thoroughly enjoyable. The way he approaches fragrances is so thorough and so in-depth you’d feel like you were in the room smelling alongside him.

The Milano Fragranze offering I would choose is Naviglio. When the guys described it as “Fresh, refreshing, and relaxing” as well as a scent fit for Summer I was sold.

Thanks for the opportunity! Illinois, USA

  • It is clear from the interview that Alessandro wanted to offer fragrances for all occasions. It is as if he drew a mental picture of residents going about their day in creating briefs. My choice is Naviglio. I am in US

  • Christopher Golden says:

MILANO FRAGRANZE NAVIGLIO is my favorite. I love lavender and citrus fragrances. I know this a wonderful scent. I can’t wait to get a sample of this. If it smells as good as you say I will have to add them to my collection.

  • This was a lovely interview, and I enjoyed hearing about the qualities of various perfumes. I am subscribed to Redolessence, and I liked Steven’s thoughtful questions and his own perspective on different perfumes. All perfumes in this line seem to be full of character. If I’d to choose one, I’d go with MILANO FRAGRANZE BASILICA.
MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA comes a close second. Wish I could try them all, so a discovery set is a great idea. Thanks for a generous draw of discovery set and a perfume bottle. I haven’t tried this line or brand before, but it seems so full of old world charm. I’m in the USA.

  • Joel franco says:

Steven make a good review of this house and the first I heard about it, greetings

  • Mark Serrato9 says:

Basilica would be my pick because I love anything incense. But truthfully, the perfumer makes each one sound amazing!

Steven of Redolessence is my favorite YouTube reviewer because of his high knowledge of notes and how to describe a scent. Almost like explaining colors to a blind person. Very articulate.
Hoping my bad luck changes and I win. It would make my year!!

  • I’ve never been to an Opera, but if i ever got the chance to go, La Prima would be my scent of choice please!
I’m dying to see what Creative director Alessandro Brun has produced now (I adore L’Atessa).
Thanks for the chance to win – I’m in the UK. Cheers.

  • I enjoy Stevens you tube reviews as I get the chance to discover new Fragrances from Perfumers from all over the world that I would not be familiar with here in the UK. I would be honoured and excited to win the NAVIGLIO Fragrance from Milano Fragranze, because I’d be the first in my social circle to try this scent and I would spread the word about this exciting brand to friends and family, It’s another brand I have not heard of before today, yet will definitely be checking out thanks to Stevens review.
    Oldham, United Kingdom

  • Loved that quip about Alessandro watching the Italian football match from his neighbour’s window. I’ve totally done that before. Great descriptions of all the fragrances. Found the text on the screen especially helpful to discern some of the notes. With us going into the summer, the freshness of Naviglio makes it a perfect choice, but I just love the sound of adding Amarreto to a fougere in Diurno. That one would be my pick. Grrrrrrazie! MI, USA

  • Wow, Steven! What a wonderful & evocative interview! This is my first encounter with Alessandro Brun & his stunning projects, but the more I learn, the more I understand his ideas of “Innamoramento.” ❤️ The operatic timbre that ties all these scents together is brilliant! It is impossible to select just one fragrance.
    1) Cortille – this is my experience of Milan. Briefly visiting the grandmother of my Parisian roommate, we carried the century-old kitchen table out into the courtyard to eat an 8 hour dinner, deep into the summer night, with friends & neighbors joining the feast, sharing wine & bower. I would give anything to experience that scent again.
    2) Naviglio – History. This is the kind of lived history that is a treasure! Not only do I want to wear this scent, but I want the meditation on physical bearings & bonds to the generations of men & women before me who have lived the small labors & pleasures of life. The very same things that will live on in my children. Who knows – maybe I fold my shirts just like my great-great-grandmother (or some other living trace passed down from my ancestors). This is a beautiful meditation of a scent.
    3) Diurno – What an amazing scentscape. This is a place I will, unfortunately, only ever be able to imagine. I would love to experience these accords!
If I am lucky enough to win, may I ask you to send me one of these, then I’ll purchase the samples of the other two?
    Thank you!
    I live in the USA

  • patrick_348 says:

What a great video! It made me want to try all of the fragrances. I would like to win Basilica because I don’t have an incense-oriented fragrance and this sounds like a great place to start with that note in that you describe it as not being too overpowering or smoky. I live in the USA, in North Carolina.

  • Maggie Rivera says:

I am so excited to put my nose on Milano Fragranze! Whether I win or not, I will get my nose on this one way or the other. I need to review this on my social platforms ASAP! I am so excited because I already adore Masque Milano. I can only imagine the level of beauty that Milano Fragranze will bring.

  • Kurt Horn says:

I Love How Descriptive Steven is with all of his reviews, you know exactly what to expect when you try out a new fragrances for the first time based on Steven’s Reviews, I’ve blind bought many a fragrence based on his reviews and I haven’t been let down yet! I’m extremely interested in the New “Naviglio” fragrence because I love Citrus based scents! I live in the Suburbs of Milwaukee,Wisconsin!!

  • Christopher says:

They all sounds great but I choose to try naviglio because it fresh and relaxing. Then I would like to try the others.

  • Stephen has such a nice and engaging interview style and I enjoyed his enthusiasm for this line, which sounds amazing. If I had the pleasure to have just one, I think it would be La Prima, the way Alessandro Brun described it had me sold completely. Commenting from NY. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I’m intrigued by all of these “scents of place” (the opulence of Brera standing out very prominently), but the development of a less conventional, “cosy” type of incense for Basilica places it at the top of my list of curiosity. Congratulations on having achieved each of these carefully constructed embodiments.

  • marquezm1 says:

Cannot wait to try try the discovery pack….applying price of discovery set to a full bottle? Bravo!

Sorry, about the double posting. I’d forgotten to write my location (Dallas, TX).

  • Rafael Soto says:

I like Stevens reviews because they are never pretentious but he describes everything very well. I have learned a lot through them. The one I would choose is Naviglio because it appears to have the qualities I like in a fragrance.

  • Jmmcmenamin says:

I love a white floral and have a personal connection to opera so La Prima would be my choice. Steven’s passion for fragrance is contagious! In Louisiana, USA.

  • I really enjoyed the enthusiasm coupled with the vivid descriptions of the fragrances. I would choose Brera because he was so animated discussing it and I love rose and pachouli. Naviglio also sounds wonderful, though. 🙂 I live in NC USA.

  • Prayforzay says:

Hey there! Im watching from Virginia, USA! I absolutely LOVED hearing the review between Steven and Mr. Brun! I loved hearing about the inspirations for all of the fragrances! It just gives me a deeper understanding for the story that each fragrance has! If I was able to win, I would really like Naviglio. It just sounds so beautiful. Unfortunately I was furloughed from my job because of COVID and money has been really tight, so I have not been able to purchase any fragrances. Fragrances became such a huge part of my life and I absolutely cherish each one so much. It would be a huge blessing if I could win Naviglio.

  • The concept behind Milano Fragranze i like a lot. The price point is great too.
I’ve been to Milano dozens of times, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is such a famous tourist attraction, it was surprising to hear there’s a fragrance inspired by it. Galleria I’d like to win the most, Italian posh leather and iris in a bottle.
Steven punctuality I like so much.
    Thanks for the draw
USA, and Germany from time to time

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

I enjoyed Steven’s take on Naviglio and the washing of clothing in the canal. This one sounds pretty interesting and I would love to win a full bottle and the discovery set as well. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Kelly O'Neal says:

I like the way Steven gives the note breakdown. I choose Milano Fragranze Basilica because I like incense scents. I live in Virginia, USA. Thank you.

  • I would like to try them all but if I had to pick one it would be naviglio. Because I’m a big fan of lavender and bergamot. Steven is always thorough and speaks about fragrances no one else speaks about.

  • Dubaiscents says:

I am always excited when a house I love expands into something new. When it’s Alessandro from Masque Milano I am doubly so. This whole line sounds amazing! I can’t wait to try. Thank you for the lovely interview and intro to these scents. I would pick La Prima for the vintage retro floral and furs but it would be a tough decision because they all sound so intriguing thanks for the draw. US

  • Sorohan Adriana says:

MILANO FRAGRANZE LA PRIMA is my choice to win a full bottle. I’m curious how the 2 tuberose Cortina and Derby are but I don’t think that together with leather accords if this induces suede accord.
I am from Eu Bucharest Romania Europe

  • #Qual21 Without Steven YouTube would not have the Quality & honesty and the ability to explain fragrances like he does much ❤ to Steven. I choose DIURNO because I understand the hustle & bustle of my city in a different way where I grow up for a young kid who always loved the smells of different colognes was my way of escape which made me feel like I was on vacation somewhere so DIURNO is the fragrance for me

  • MarkMarkMark678 says:

I love the stories the perfumer told giving the background on each Fragrance. I’d love to try galleria, I’m from Houston Texas

  • Neil Solanki says:

It’s so cool how each scent has a unique story behind it really makes it feel special. I love having a fragrance for every situation. I would want to try Brera because the saffron sounds interesting and I like spicy fragrances.

  • The image of this painting,Il Bacio by Francisco Hayez coming alive makes me desire Milano Fragranze BRERA! Thanks for the draw and review, from Romania with love!

  • forrestanez says:

I absolutely love the stories and inspiration behind each of these perfumes. You can tell from the explanation from Alessandro, that this is something very personal and dear to his heart. I also, adore the idea that there is something for every occasion…great forward thinking! I would go Naviglio for two reasons. First, because I just love a great cologne that is very bright. Second, I live in a place where it feels like summer all year long. Location: Hawaii USA

  • MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA: Every fragrance collection needs an outstanding rose/patchouli perfume and this one is exuberantly spiced with saffron. I love Rose and Patchouli combinations so brera appeals to me the most. Steven is an absolute master at describing the notes of perfumes and his knowledge and attention to detail are second to none. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • I loved that Antonio was watching the Italian football match through his neighbours window I hope Italy go and win the tournament. Steven breaking down the notes and his description are just breathtaking. If I am lucky to win I would love to win Brera. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • NituNicolae says:

I loved how in depth Redolessence’s interview with Alessandro Brun was, so detailed and explained all the fragrances perfectly. If i had to choose one, DIURNO would be my pick. I live in Romania, EU.

  • KennethSears says:

Loved your interview on Redolessence! I am especially intrigued with your “incense” fragrance.

  • Rachel Part 2:
Sorry for the double entry, I think I have to do this: YOU MUST SPECIFY A PERFUME YOU WANT TO WIN OR YOUR ENTRY IS INVALID (qu’est-ce que c’est difficile!). I pick CORTILLO (coffee-scented jasmine…. I could live on that). If we select among Michelyn’s favorites, INVIGLIO please.

By the way, I’m SO thrilled this is the work of 4 Female Perfumers!

  • I love his genuine excitement and exuberance talking about the scents and would love to win MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA. I’m in the USA.

  • I loved Steven’s review of the fragrances. His description of Brera really captured my interest. I adore rose/patchouli fragrances. And I liked how he described the interplay of rose and saffron. He describes this perfume as “extroverted”! I really enjoyed learning about this perfume house and will keep them on my radar for future purchases.
    I live in the USA.

  • kramerongo says:

I like always a new niche brand house that bring new smells into market. I fells for Brera with have Rose and saffron. I love that mix. I will wear it all summer time. I am in Sweden EU

  • I enjoyed the interesting presentation and very good quality in Steven’s YouTube reviews. I would love to win Milano Fragranze Galleria. Poland UE.

  • I always liked Steven’s videos because he transmit his passion for perfumes and know the words to bring a scent to you as if you were smelling with him. What can be said about Alessandro Brun? wow, Owner and creative director of Masque Milano! As he is born and bred in Milano, he brings us now a fragrance collection inspired in places of his city. As Steven says, a versatile collection with scents for everyone and for every occasion. From the video, you can see he enjoyed it: the way he smells the blotters and his transparent faces. If i win, I would choose BASILICA because I love incense fragrances, never miss the chance to add one to my collection. This one is a soft incense with balsamic and waxy notes from the candles in the church! Complex and multidimensional as Steven points out. I live in Spain, EU.

  • Steven and Alessandro are so relaxed together and Steven is one of the YouTube reviewers who I enjoy most, along with Sebastian. I’ve never been to Milan, so hearing about the city and how the fragrances relate to it was fun. It’s very hard to choose between these, but La Prima would be my choice. I’m in the US.

  • Ok. These sound amazing. Alessandro’s story about watching a football match through a neighbor’s window in Steven’s review and the sharing economy really touched me, so the one I would most like to win is Cortile. I am in the US.

  • Love the history and story behind each perfum you can tell its made with passion, like the story of the canals and the people washing in it, which makes me like the NAVIGLIO,

  • John Swift says:

I Loved how Steven explained every fragrance in detail and that the fragrances were based around very specific places. It’s so amazing you can not only feel but hear the passion in his voice. Steven Phenomenal job. I believe in you and I think I need to have these fragrances. Thank You for your time Steven.

  • Cravis123 says:

Redolessence has a very articulate way of expressing his opinions and a permanent positivism with each review. Efficient and very polite. I love Italian perfumes and I love blue color! The concept, the story of each perfume I particularly liked, it was a pleasure to listen to the dialogue between Redolessence and Alessandro. If it’s to win, I’d like it to be Diurno because I like bitter things especially in Italian style.
I am from EU, Romania, Cluj Napoca

  • Very informative ! Great reviews and very gorgeous bottles. I think the ones that intrigue me the most and I am interested to experience are Diurno and Basilica

  • Very nice Review . And a charming Interview. I am Most Interested in Basilica or Brera, because these are scents i love the most.
    I am from Germany

  • I have been subscribed to Steven’s Youtube channel for more than 8 years. Despite the success, he’s stayed humble and down-to-earth. I admire his passionate and highly informative way of presenting fragrances.
A new Italian house! So exciting. Most of the eight fragrances are compelling to my taste but based on the review I would choose LA PRIMA since I love all the notes of the fragrance.
Thank you for a great collaboration with Steven, an opportunity to learn about the new house, and participate in a giveaway.
    I live in Slovenia.

  • I’m a sucker for Italian perfumes and thoroughly enjoyed Steven’s reviews. Congrats on the new releases! I would love to try La Prima because I love the opera and all things classical. I was reminiscing the other day about what perfume would suit Maria Callas, this could very well be it! Greetings from Athens, Greece.

  • life_through_her_lens says:

Yet another outstanding, informative, well-thought-out video review by Steven!! What I loved the most was learning about the historical places in Milan – one of the most beautiful cities, which has inspired the 8 outstanding compositions! Being a die hard dark, mysterious rose fan that I am, Brera would be the one I would absolutely love to try! Love from Ireland x

  • Erick Jurado says:

Congratulations on your new fragrances. I want to enter the giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity.

  • I love that when Steven does an interview, he allows the creator of the fragrance or fragrances to fully express their vision of it. Steven is also truly gifted with the ability to describe a fragrance completely and his professionalism is above bar, always.

I would love to try Cortile. I got lost in the magical evening floralness of it. Sounds so beautiful. In the USA.

  • Thanks for the wonderful intro Michelyn. I hope you get to re-visit Milan soon to experience the rich history it has.

It is great to see Steven on Cafleurebon. He has become such a staple in the fragrance community and has such a wealth of knowledge. It is always a treat to hear him describe his experiences with fragrance.

It was also great to see the man behind Milano Fragranze. I loved hearing what the creative process behind each fragrance is. It is fascinating to hear how perfumers create perfume from memories.

As a fervent fan of equestrian sports I can imagine what Derby must smell like and that is why I am instantly drawn towards it. I would love to win this perfume.

    Greetings from the UK!

  • Very interesting interview, very well described fragrances. I would like to win DIURNO very much. On 30/06/21 I will be in Poland.

  • Steven is so knowledgeable, detailed and meticulous in his reviews. I love watching his videos, he describes everything very well and in detail, yet has this serene and calm vibe which makes you feel like you’re listening to someone passionate and educated talking about something they love, rather than a “pro” proving you how much they know.
If I won, I would be happy to get La Prima. I love florals in general, but it’s the fur accord that especially triggers me in this one; it is unusual, yet I am sure it was made in a classy, yet cozy and even intimate way.
    I am in EU.
    Thanks!

  • GennyLeigh says:

Nice review Steven. Very interesting interview of the perfumer. I’ve never heard of Milano Fragranze before but I appreciate their scents of place philosophy. I would love to try the discovery set and Galleria because iris and leather are two of my favorite perfume components.

  • Govanni Barrett says:

I like how descriptive Steven is when reviewing fragrances and almost always I am introduced to at least one fragrance.

I am choosing Galleria due to the leather base. I love leather notes!

    I live in the USA
    Thank you for this opportunity!

  • I first want to thank you for this opportunity!

I like how descriptive Steven is when reviewing fragrances and his lists are very diverse. Almost always I am introduced to a new fragrance or brand, such as this brand here.

I am choosing Galleria due to the leather note. I love leather notes!

    I live in the USA

  • amyjason13 says:

Always love Steven’s reviews he’s very thorough and really gives you a sense of what you’re going to get in the fragrances!!! I would choose Brera, I would choose it because I love all the notes in this one especially patchouli!!! I live in Covington Ohio!!!

  • Bryan Castater says:

I love Steven’s reviews because do you listen to Steven‘s reviews you can almost smell the fragrance by the way he explains them and he takes you on a journey which each description. I bought many of fragrances because of that and have loved them when I receive them. It’s a tough choice they all sound amazing but I’m most interested in MILANO FRAGRANZE BASILICA because love incense and I’m intrigued by the mysteriousness of it. I live the USA

  • Joshua Rodriguez says:

These fragrances sound so interesting. Basilica sounds like a great twist on an incense fragrance.

  • mel.smells.it says:

I have been following Stevens radolescence YouTube channel now for a few years. I always find his reviews thorough and I have purchased scents based on his recommendations. And put even more on my want list. The one that I would like to try the most is basilica, as I am an incense fan affectionato.

  • Sherin Thomas says:

Steven’s interview with Alessandro on Milano fragrances is an eyeopener for a newbie like me. Steven’s view on these fragrances make me want all of these as he has a facinating input. Of all the ones discussed I love Basilico because I have been looking for a smooth church incense fragrance for a while, not too strong. I hope to put my nose on to it…thanks for the opportunity. From PA, USA

  • I enjoyed the video included a chat with the creative director of these fragrances. If chosen I’d love the bottle of NAVIGLIO. US

  • I love Steven’s reviews. His reviews are very thorough and positive. I appreciate his kindness toward the fragrance houses, their perfumers, and fellow fragrance reviewers. My pick is La Prima if I win the drawing. I’m half Italian, and my roots run deep. I’ve visited Italy, but want to visit Milan and embrace the culture.I reside in Southern California. Thanks!

  • I loved this interview and I must admit I fell in love with Alessandro. His descriptions of this new line based on the city he was born and raised in were engaging. It is a tough choice here to choose only one but I must go with La Primia. Stephen thank you for such great content and astuteness in your videos. I appreciate the time and effort that you put into presenting these with such professionalism and enthusiasm.

  • Reginald Hannah says:

Very intriguing fragrances that seem to invoke and spark transporting feeling. I cannot wait to smell these masterpieces.

  • macaroni023 says:

Such a interesting video, I loved listening to Alessandro Brun discribing places of Milan and how they inspired fragrances!!! I love Milan and Alessandro comments just brought so many good memories made in that city. Galleria for me speaks the most, wow I can already smell that luxury leather iris and I think it’s the best representation of Milan, I’ll never forget my first walk in galleria. My choice would be Galleria but I’m very interested to try all of them. Very big thank you for this review, I enjoy video a lot!
    I’m from EU

Steven is always really nice and enthusiastic when he speaks about fragrances, thanks for this lovely interview with Alessandro Brun! Who is also a really lovely person, I have participated to the launch on the 24th and a couple of other webinar and he and everybody at Masque (and now Milano fragranze) are always so nice with their customers and fans! I love Masque and I love the idea behind the new brand, to tell the story of a city through fragrances, and since it is my home town too, I couldn’t be happier! All 8 fragrances are amazing, my favourites are Basilica and La Prima but if I had to choose one for the giveaway I’d choose Basilica since my husband loves it too so we could share a fragrance! Greetings from Milan

  • I’d like to try/win all of these fragrances but if I had to choose just one, then I would choose “Basilica” because I can enjoy the use of incense, labdanum, and piney nuances in perfumery. Steven was one the first fragrance reviewers who I started learning from about perfumery. I appreciated his interview with Mr. Brun because I became more familiar with a creative director who I’ve heard of for some time now. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • Really enjoyed watching that, su much knowledge but easy to understand. I would pick Brera, the rose and patchouli combo sound great. I live in Indiana USA

  • DulciusExAsperis says:

I appreciate Steven’s review because unlike some other YT fragrance reviewers he talks not just about the scents but he speaks to the creators about the ideas behind the brand! Very interesting to me. Anyway I think Basilica sounds the most interesting to me so I would choose that one, the others sound great (particularly the amaretto fougere) but I just can’t resist incense. I am in the USA.

  • IvanVelikov says:

MILANO FRAGRANZE house I will sample 100%.
NAVIGLIO is the one fragrance i believe that will suit me well for the scorching summer that’s coming up. Fresh , Italian Cologne is what every man should have.
Steven i like because of his encyclopedic knowledge of fragrances.
    Thanks to Steven, Alessandro Brun

I’m very excited about the notes described in Cortile and I would love to win that perfume! The idea of people sharing coffee out of windows on the courtyard balconies, and catching up with each other, seems lovely to me!

  • Bryant Worley says:

Steven’s reviews are always excellent, as he thoroughly knows the fragrance, and can, therefore, give comparisons as to different scents to help know what to expect.

The fragrance I would choose is Naviglio, as I like a nice masculine-leaning scent, and it is that.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • Uwem Bassey says:

I love the enthusiasm of Alessandro Brun as he describe each fragrances and its Milan inspiration. I would love to try all of them but if I had to pick one I would pick BRERA. I live in Columbia, MD (USA).

  • Steven’s reviews are always in great detail. I can just smell what cologne is being mentioned just by his description. If I had to choose, I would love to win Diurno because it’s scent profile is very intriguing. From NY

  • kirisekii says:

I enjoyed watching Steven’s reviews, especially where he talks with Alessandro. It took me back to Italy and Milan. While listening to stories about these perfumes, I remembered all the places I have been there and it makes me want to come back to this wonderful country ASAP.
It is very difficult to choose which perfume I would like to try the most because I haven’t smelled anything from the house yet. Still, my guts are saying that I would love CORTILE because coffee and jasmine are my kryptonite.

Cortile has peaked my interest! I love Steven’s description of drinking Turkish/Greek coffee surrounded by the scents of the neighborhood. I’d love to try all of them! Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • Steven is very detailed in his reviews which I appreciate immensely. I really enjoyed hearing the background information about Alessandro and that these are all inspired by Milan. Even though Cortilo sounds super intriguing, MILANO FRAGRANZE LA PRIMA is my choice as I can’t resist the osmanthus and ambergris in it. I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Wow, I can’t wait to try new perfumes of Alessandro Brun as I love Masque Milano so much. And by woken perfumers. And so concisely and observantly inspired by specicificities of Milano. I havevthus really enjoyed Stephens interview, I’ll have a look into his reviews as well.
    Basilica sparks my interest.
    Thanks!
    I’m in EU

  • Steven positivity is second to none 🙂
My favorite Masque Milano fragrance is L’Attesa , I bought my second bottle last month.
It’s was nice learning about Alessandro Brun new project called MILANO FRAGRANZE .
BRERA sounds great to me, artistic rose and patchouli fragrance, Michelyn contribution sealed the deal
“I imagine the couple stepping out of the painting and coming to life when the museum closes to the public”
Thanks to Steven, Michelyn and Alessandro Brun.

  • I loved steven’s enthusiasm, he’s a reviewer that’s genuinely excited about perfumes! This house sounds amazing, I always love an Italian touch in fragrances. Basilica sounds amazing, I would love to win it! I live in Croatia, EU.

  • Thank you Steven for this great news- new beautiful brand created by Alessandro Brun!! I am intrigued by descriptions. All sounds interesting, can not pick up one. Love cologne, love incense, love ros-patchpouli.

“I have traveled to Milano for Esxence and attended the launches of Masque Milano L’Atessa, Romanza, and Tango. I was so busy at the vendors’ stalls that I didn’t have time nor did I study the rich history and sites of Milan”

Esxence 2022 will finally happen, right? I hope it will. I have to see it, to believe it.
Masque Milano fragrances do have a special place in my heart.
To create new brand, based on the city you’re born and raised is such a nice idea
MILANO FRAGRANZE BRERA is mixing best of artistic, and nightlife aspects of Milan, there’s patchouli, rose and resins, my pick for sure.
I’ll make sure to follow @violaine_collas_parfumeur @minniemhs @mmmoelhausen right away
    Thanks a lot

I much appreciate Steven’s knowledge and passion for fragrances, and the clarity he conveys his message with. Really happy he has become a ÇaFleureBon Video Content Journalist Contributor. I love the format he has been carrying on for a while, of interviewing perfumers via a video chat and giving them a chance to introduce fragrance lovers to the concepts behind their creations. Milano Fragrance perfumes sound truly exquisite. I fell in love with the city of Milan that I managed to visit shortly before the pandemic, and I cannot even imagine the happiness I would feel being able to discover each of the fragrances recreating parts of/ locations in the city. My bottle of choice would be BASILICA – I love incense, labdanum and candle wax. Thank you from Ireland, EU

  • I loved hearing Alessandro’s passion on Steven’s review. It’s so rare that you hear directly from the brand. I would choose La Prima because orange blossom and fur accord sounds incredible (though it was a hard fought choice and Basilico nearly pipped it). I’m in the UK.

  • Christopher Dorsett says:

I would like to try NAVIGLIO because it’s a fresh fragrance and it’s hot now I can wear it right away. I like when Steven describe a fragrance because of his details of it that has me wanting to try it. I am located in knoxville, TN.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thank you for the great review Steven!

I loved this review. It’s not often that we get to hear the perfumer actually talk to us in a reviewer – the flesh behind the smell, if you say. I loved hearing abut the ideas and inspirations behind these fragrances, particularly when he mentioned about the area where people washed clothes at the canal.

I love that this collection is based on memories of places, rather than events. Thank you taking us through a journey in Milan.

I would love to travel to Milan through these fragrances and would love to win the discovery set.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Michael Prince says:

I love Steven’s review and interview learning about all 8 fragrances in the MILANO FRAGRANZE collection. I think I would enjoy all of these fragrances, but if I won I would probably pick NAVIGLIO a fresh, citrusy, and soapy fragrance with a nice clean vetiver that is safe and classy. I am from the USA.

  • I enjoyed Steven’s interview with Alessandro, I think they are both very eloquent & good at describing things. It was also very interesting to hear about the ideas behind the fragrances. Milan has never been in the top of my travel destinations’ list before, but I’m beginning to change my mind 😀

I have had the pleasure of sampling Brera & this is what I would choose if I would win. Absolutely stunning rose-saffron bomb! It will join my collection either way.

I am in Finland, EU; thank you for the draw & the great article!

It is just amazing how perfumes can trigger memories and feelings. This is exactly why I’ve always loved perfumes. They’re not just an accessory, they’re a form of art.Going through the review I was just more and more curious.
I’d love to win the perfume CORTILE , even tho I’m sure they all smell wonderfully . I live in the north of Italy too , in the countryside, and I think CORTILE would be the one that suits me the best. When I heard and read the description I felt like he was describing a summer afternoon here: the yard, coffee , the smell of jasmine that comes with he air. It just gave me a beautiful feeling.
Thanks for creating such pieces of art.

Milan is one of the most beautiful and full of life sites in the world. It comes to no surprise to me , that Alessandro Brun new line is dedicated to important places, and events in his home town.
After re-watching the video, I feel like BRERA will suit my personality very well. I like rose and patchouli , I love nightlife, and fragrances with a classy twist.
    Exciting giveaway, USA

This video was absolutely incredible I truly love the connection between life and fragrance. Fragrance is all around us and it’s inspiring to see how these life themes find their way into these beautiful bottles. It gives me further inspiration for my own brand as a indi perfumer (first launch ’22).

I adore Russian Tea – my favorite Masque Milano fragrance. It was nice learning about the new Milanese project 🙂
Milano Fragranze BRERA I can’t go wrong with, rose/patchouli with resins, quality ingredients, it’s well made confirmed by both Steven and Michelyn, and it’s also made by a nose i like Violaine Collas.
Thank you Steven, Cafleurebon and Milano Fragranze
Back and forth between USA and Scotland, 2 weeks in US -> 2 weeks is Scotland, and so on. Basically both USA and UK at the same time

  • Sych variety of fragrances , nice bottles, more than fair prices, through MILANO FRAGRANZE people can learn about Milan , and its rich city culture.
After some hesitation between Naviglio , Basilica and Brera , I’ll go with the latter. Joyful and opulent rose-patchouli perfume. I also have II Bacio reproduction at home .
Appreciate the interview, I love videos with perfumers, and the giveaway campaign

I would love to get my nose on Basilica. I am new in to my fragrance journey and am loving incense in fragrance. Please let me smell this one day. Congrats on the new brand!
