M. Micallef Desir Toxic Review (2019) + Dark Romance Draw

Brooding, erotic, the moon watches the midnight world, shining through the silver mists above the trees. Nocturnal creatures quietly rustle the sweet grasses, gnawing the fallen summer fruits. Forgotten dreams, floating like ghosts among the ancient cedars, reveal disquieting stories of life as it could have been or perhaps, someday, will be. M. Micallef Desir Toxic evokes this haunting beauty, the dark desires of men and women, the humid, mysterious breath of moonlit forests and the cool sighs of lost souls. Desir Toxic is a sprawling gothic romance of a fragrance, calling forth and then conquering fears, instigating and then dispelling the greedy demons or strange creatures that could very well be lurking in the mind and heart.

Of course, there is no doubt that fragrance can affect mood.  M. Micallef Desir Toxic is an example of a single perfume capable of suggesting the cold forebodings of fear and then replacing the same with warm life and courage. Created by Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman, introduced at Esxence 2019, Toxic Desir features the finest quality ingredients in unfamiliar combinations, eliciting something akin to passionate hunger followed by a sense of well being and satiation.  The pairing of opposites, brilliant bravery residing in an intriguing, seductive darkness, is personified by the midnight blue of the heavy, opaque bottle, inscribed with magical, geometric patterns.

Translating any fragrance to text is a serious challenge.  M. Micallef Toxic Desir is exceptionally resistant to “words”, an olfactory experience that must be lived to be truly understood.  Opening with the marriage of bergamot and cardamom – the bright and sparkling spirit tempted by the sweet, woody and sultry  – Desir Toxic fascinates with forbidden expressions of very different styles of longing and loving.  I can’t help but think of the two fantastic characters of Ariel and Caliban from Shakespeare’s Tempest, their unconventional and ill fated relationship profiled in the Post Script to W.H. Auden’s The Sea and the Mirror –  “ Elegance, art, fascination, Fascinated by …mortality…” – the shining ethereal spirit pulled to the dark earth.

The heart of M. Micallef Desir Toxic beats with the cool, sweet, feral mysteries of black currant, soaked in the heady warmth of cannabis and spiced with cinnamon. The celebration of spirit continues with vanillic Tonka bean, resinous benzoin and oakmoss. As the perfume dries,  Desir Toxic is drawn down once again, this time to a rich, dirty, slightly rough patchouli. The contrast of light and darkness are bound together until the very end, finishing after at least twelve hours on skin as a single evaporating sigh of cardamom, cannabis and musk.

Notes: Bergamot, cardamom, lemon, black currant, cinnamon, tonka bean, cannabis, benzoin, oakmoss, musk and patchouli.

Disclaimer:  I would like to thank Parfums M. Micallef for the opportunity to experience their beautiful Desir Toxic.  My opinions are my own.

The composition of this just sounds amazing, plus the 12hr longevity…..what’s not to love about it. Something to wear for a mysterious evening with Mr. Grey…..lol

  • This one has some of the notes I absolutely adore like cinnamon, tonka beans, benzoin and musk. The cannabis note really sounds like an interesting touch to the whole composition. The name of the fragrance is also intriguing and I am sure it matches the potion inside the bottle.

    I am from EU. Thanks!

  • The bright opening vs the rough patchouli – so intriguing! My dark romantic movie is “Unfaithful” with Diane Lane and Richard Gere. I live in the USA.

  • this bottle. wow. it is beautiful. the fragrance sounds wonderful as well. who doesn’t love some dark romance. i’ve never tried a micallef fragrance so i would love to try this one. usa

  • isunnychaudhary says:

I saw a video of unboxing of desire toxic last week and it good me hooked. It is amazingly packed with a eye mask and tie.

I love it’s notes as some are my all time favorite and they are all in it like citrus, cardamom, cinnamon a d patchouli with my favorite Tonka beans.

Gail mentioned that desire toxic can affect your mood which is unbelievable and I would love to try it on me and see people reaction. I love that he mentioned the marriage of bergamot and cardamom which is quite new to me but exciting for sure.

My favorite darkly movie is 50 Shades Of Grey.

Thanks for another chance to register my first win, so excited about this.

    I am from USA.

    Regards
    Sunny

  • Great review, amazing bottle, great notes list, it sounds just perfect. Also if there is “rough patchouli”, i’m all in. Would love to test this beauty, thanks for the chance. I’m in the EU.

  • I am a huuuuge fan of M.Micallef – always so finely crafted and complex. This one sounds amazing, especially with the spices and benzoin!!
Would love to win, I am in Melbourne Australia

  • This composition of warming and cold notes coinciding resonated with me. Its intrigue seemingly floated out of my computer screen. My favorite dark novel is “The Alienist” by Caleb Carr. (Commenting from FL, USA)

  • One of the sexiest bottles I’ve ever seen. Plus, feral is an excellent descriptor of how black currant sometimes comes off in perfumery. The contrast and notes seem on par with modern unchallenging releases, but I’m honestly a little swept by the ad campaign. Can’t resist dark romantic fragrance once in a while and DesirToxic seems to have the theme nailed. Sexayyyyyy. Canada.

  • Brava Gail. You had me halfway through the first paragraph! If the perfume smells only half as good as the images you created, it’s a winner. I think M. Micallef Gaiac is also very lovely. In the US.

  • Desir Toxic seems quite an avant garde creation as Gail says it has unusual combination of notes. I also like the opaque blue bottle, almost gives a ‘frosty vibe’. The theme of the fragrance is fear followed by courage. The name also seems to imply it is inspired by daring love affairs. My fav. from Micallef is Sashka Black. I am in US.

  • Never heard of M. MICALLEF but this sounds amazing such a complex mixture of smells would love to wear this especially because of the 12 hour of wear is beast. USA Ohio

  • smellslikehappiness says:

This sounds amazing. Rich and dark, perfect for upcoming fall nights! Thank you for the draw, my favorite M. Micallef fragrance is Ylang in Gold 🙂

  • Desir Toxic with a cinnamon note sounds rich and warm. Perfect for Fall. I have never owned a fragrance with a cannabis note. I’m very curious what that would smell like. I have never smelled a Micallef fragrance so I think I will explore their website. The bottle is beautiful! In the US. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • Oh wow, what a mysterious fragrance. It sounds like an intensely addictive eau de parfum to me. It has all the dark you always longing to discover. And it has the heart filling warmth of a sweet encounter. I’m thrilled to try it. M. Micallef Desir Toxic reminds me of „The Dark Light of Day by T.M. Frazier“. I have not tried any of their offerings yet. I’m in the USA.

  • The presentation on this fragrance is absolutely stunning wow what a beautiful bottle! I’m a huge fan of cinnamon and Tonka bean, so this sounds like a pretty sexy fragrance. I live in USA Iowa.

  • The bottle is gorgeous! I liked the description of the heart being black current soaked in cannabis and spiked with cinnamon. Sign me up! I live in the US.

  • Thank you so much for the draw. I live in Phoenix, AZ. The thing that really appeals to me is the gorgeous bottle, it would def. stand out on my shelf. I also think the notes (especially cardamon, tonka bean and musk) would be ideal for cooler weather.

  • Oh Gail, you had me at Cinnamon. Lately there have been numerous fragrances that caught my nose and the common denominator is cinnamon. Funny how this one shows up on the site now. I love the bottle. 12 hours on the skin is appealing to me. As I’ve gotten more into fragrances, I go more for longevity especially at some of the prices I have paid for bottles. Thanks for showcasing this!! My favorite from this line is Guiaic. USA.

  • Very curious how a fragrance can evoke “cold forebodings of fear and then replacing the same with warm life and courage”. That’s a tall order! VA, USA.

  • A single perfume that goes from fear to courage, mixing quality ingredients. Ohh, that is something, made me so courious. This appeals to me like the demonic desire. Like something you know is not meant to you, but you still want it desperatly. My darly romantic novel is Red and Noire, by Stendhal. Living in EU

  • Cinnamon, cannabis and oakmoss? It sounds like a delightful mix. My favorite romantic dark movies all have vampires in them! Thanks for the opportunity to sniff! USA

  • Twelve hours! Wow! You got me with that “Tonka bean, resinous benzoin and oakmoss.”
I like my romance light and silly. Is Neruda’s Sonnet XVII dark? If only because of the secret nature of his affair?
    I’m in the US.

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

Thanks for wonderful review & article. This unfamiliar combination of notes is appealing, being Chypre, Fougere, Spicy and the earthy roughness of patchouli sounds amazing. Aha longevity also is heavy.
Thanks for the draw and generosity. Count me in, please. PAKISTAN

  • Ok, this is strange. There’s something in your review that intrigues me, but I can’t pin it down. I don’t have too much of a vision how this smells like to be honest. A matter of mood I guess, accompanied with those beautiful photos. And that bottle is stunning, I agree, in all the variations of colours I have seen so far. The vetiver green being my favourite, but this comes close. – I’d be happy to win this to Germany, thanks for the draw!

  • Wow, your review is so capturing! It exudes a brilliant darkness, an aura of sensual mystery envelops this magnetic fragrance. Your words describe a unique olfactory experience where quality, originality and stimulation at many perceptive levels accompany a beautiful journey into and out of ourselves. It’s impossible to remain indifferent. Thanks!
    I live in Italy.

  • Truly intrigued by this perfume. The combination of all the notes together with the longevity will allow for some truly mysterious adventures. Living in the EU

  • I’m sure this fragrance is addictive, with the initial energy of the citrus fruits opening and the warm embrace of spices and cinnamon, very sensual for me. It reminds me of the film “Io Sono l’Amore” by Luca Guadagnino, where the strength of feelings and, above all, of the senses explodes, the protagonist is Tilda Swindon in all her timeless elegance, like this splendid blue bottle. Linda – EU

  • I am attracted by this game of contrasts, the heart of the spicy composition is interesting, I love it, mixed with citrus and blackcurrant juice. Beautiful midnight blue bottle Alex – UE

  • I really liked where she talked about cannabis spiced with cinnamon as well as the Tonka bean and Benzoin. I so not have a favorite M. Micallef fragrance because I,ve not had the good fortune to try any. I live in the U.S. Thanks.

  • What a fantastic review, it was so imaginative and with such detail that it made the words come alive just like notes make the fragrance itself come alive.

What appeals to me most about the scent is the mix between light and dark. It almost seems to lure you in deeper and deeper until youre enveloped in it.

My favourite M.Micallef is vanille orient.
My favourite dark romantic movie is eternal sunshine of a spotless mind.

That shows that sometimes no matter how much it hurts , it can be worth all the pain in the end.

    I’m from Ireland.

  • A fascinating encounter between light and darkness, of cool and warmth, of sweetness and spice! I live in the EU.

  • Bryant Worley says:

Unfortunately, I have never had the privilege of trying any of Mr Micallef’s fragrances, but hopefully that will change. What I appreciated, was the vividly described contrasts between the “light” and “dark” notes. The description evokes great imagery, and anticipation. But, my question is: by the fragrance “finishing …as a single evaporating sigh of cardamom, cannabis and musk”, is Mr. Micallef saying that man’s base desires will win in the end?

  • Mmm, this sounds intoxicating 🙂 I’m on a hunt of dark and sultry perfumes and this one definitely caught my eye. I`m in EU

  • I loved the imagery of dark romance and the entire story this painted of love that hurts but heals.
My favorite Micallef is Amanda Black

  • I like about this one that seems to be a fragrance of opposite forces, magical, dark and bright at the same time. Also, really interesting alignment of notes. I am from EU. Thanks!

  • Notes like blackcurrant, oakmoss, benzoin, musk, and patchouli are a perfect combination to convey the idea of dark love. I would be very curious to try this and I loved the pictures in the article. If I think of a dark romantic movie, Polanski’s Bitter Moon comes to mind. A book would be Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Thank you for the opportunity. I live in the USA.

  • This perfume sounds amazing. Dark, insidious, enveloping and dangerous. Like the deepest corners of one’s unconscious mind, dark secrets, hidden fears and broken, repetitive mechanisms. Still, all of those can still be brought to light and solved, through patience, compassion and a sense of peace. My favorite Micallef is Ananda. A romantic novel which is not dark in the conventional sense but extremely dark if you actually sit and think about it is Tess D’Urberville. The love story between Tess and Angel, the rejection and sacrifice and the forgiveness in death are darkly romantic to me. Thanks for a magnificent draw, from europe.

  • Thanks for reviewing this fragrance, Gail. M. Micallef Desir Toxic sounds like a very dark, rich and complex scent. I love this part of your description- ‘.. evokes this haunting beauty, the dark desires of men and women, the humid, mysterious breath of moonlit forests and the cool sighs of lost souls.’ I haven’t smelled any Micallef yet so I’d be happy to win this. My favorite dark romantic film is Fifty Shades of Grey. Thanks for this draw. – CA, USA

  • I’ve been looking into this one, it sounds lovely. Blackcurrent is a great not in perfumes. Favorite darkly romantic movie is Secretary 😉 From Canada.

  • Interesting… I’m not sure if I’ve ever experienced a fragrance with a cannabis note but this one sounds beautiful! I think the darkness and sexiness of the fragrance described by Gail has my attention. Lala Land is one of my favorite darkly romantic movies. USA

  • Excellent mix of notes in this fragrance. I’m always a fan of cardamom, bergamot, and cannabis. I’m in the USA.

  • “The pairing of opposites” got me curious: I don’t think I’ve ever smelled black currant blended with tonka and benzoin. Desir Toxic seems intriguing.

As for my favourite darkly romantic novel, the first that sprung to my mind are Magus, Master and Margarita, and, although not novels, a few Jean Cocteau’s plays (l’Aigle a deux tetes might be my biggest fave).

Thank you and Martine Micallef for the generous draw. I live in Russia

  • Thanks for the nice review. I love dark/ mysterious fragrances. I am interested in the cannabis note and wonder how it works with the rest of the composition. I liked the Shakespeare reference. In the USA. thanks for the draw and this would be my first time experiencing this house.

  • what appeals to me about this – everything! Oh my goodness, between the amazing notes, beautiful, mysterious bottle – and the wonderful article that describes this perfume, this is a must-have!
I have several M Micallef fragrances, it’s hard to pick one favorite, as they are all very nice. thank you for the chance at this, and I’m in the US

  • The description’s seduced me. I like notes’s list: cinnamon, black currant, benzoin, cardamom, citruses and… cannabis. I also liked the association with darkness and desire.
My favourite Micallef’s scent is Royal Muska and my favourite darkly movie is Wuthering Heights.
    I am from Poland, EU.

  • Ok Gail you got my attention with this review . Interesting combination of notes ,it’s a resinous fragrance , i sensed some nice vibe around Desir Toxic , plus black currant is one of my favorite notes in perfumery .
As for M.Micallef personally do not own any , but my husband owns Avant-Garde – to me again it’s unisex especially the dry-down , and i’m wearing it from time to time. “A Star Is Born” is my favorite romantic movie.
It will be a dream to win Desir Toxic , thank you.
Back and forth between USA and Scotland (EU/UK).1 week in US ->1 week in Scotland , and so on. Basically both USA and EU at the same time

  • This fragrance is absolutely captivating and Gails review describes a romantic scent from notes. The bottle is so beautiful and it has my attention. My favorite darkly romantic movie is Perfect Sense. Thanks for the draw. I live in USA.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

This sounds like such an interesting combination of scents with the bright and dark. I’m curious how the cannabis plays its part in this fragrance. I love the imagery of a sprawling gothic romance of a fragrance and that bottle is gorgeous! I have yet to try this house. If I’m going for a movie with romance, it has to be dark. True Romance and Eternal Sunshine are two that I adore.

  • Reading this article, I can tell Desir Toxic is a fragrance with classy citrus fruity floral start , and resinous and dry down , perfect for the fall and spring nights.
After reading Gail Gross review I imagine myself eating Vanilla Cassis Cake , drinking freshly squeezed greipfruit juice , and sitting on some comfortable rocking chair in from of some cabbin in the woods. Happy Pastry Chef in the house
Can’t tell if it’s my favorite one , because it’s the only one I know , but my girlfriend owns Mon Parfum Cristal. What a gorgeous scent, but I think it’s marketed. . a bit wrong. Yes it’s gourmand, but in 2019 it should be unisex in my opinion. I can pull it off without any issues, and I do . My girlfriend says it smells really sexy , and alluring on me.
Appreciate the review , and giveaway campaign. USA

  • “Opening with the marriage of bergamot and cardamom – the bright and sparkling spirit tempted by the sweet, woody and sultry – Desir Toxic fascinates with forbidden expressions of very different styles of longing and loving.” Gail’s review draws us in with her evocative description. Sounds divine. Thank you for this great review and generous draw. I’m in the USA

  • The bottle is amazing …as if I see the depths of the sea. My favorite perfumes are black, dark, and Gail’s review makes me think it’s a perfect, mysterious and luxurious perfume. I’m very curious to try it. My favorite Micallef is Black Ananda. I’m from EU, Romania.

  • First of all: bergamot and cardamom? Hello! Then the brooding darkness. Yes please. I would like some of that. The goth queen in me is lusting for this.

  • Desir Toxic sounds mysterious. This Reminds me of Vampires for some reason. Haven’t tried a M. Micallef fragrance yet. Cardamom is one of my favorite notes. Thanks, US

  • Richard Potter says:

I love the bottle, and the palette for that and the ad campaign. Another beautiful review from Gail, with a perfect final line.

“A single evaporating sigh of cardamom, cannabis, and musk.”

I have yet to experience Micallef, so naturally I would be excited to be the recipient of this generous draw

  • Hendrix Wilson says:

The review mentioned the use of Tonka bean, benzoin and oakmoss along with cannabus and spiced cinnamon. That truly sounds like something that should be called Desir Toxic. South Carolina

  • I found this appealing…”pairing of opposites, brilliant bravery residing in an intriguing, seductive darkness, is personified by the midnight blue of the heavy, opaque bottle, inscribed with magical, geometric patterns.” I also love that it lasts up to 12hours on the skin.
    I live in USA.

  • I agree, it is certainly often very difficult to put words to an olfactory experience. Gail has done a wonderful job of doing that for Toxic Desire. It sounds mysterious and mourning. I love Micallef scents including Vanille Aoud and Rouge 1. I am in the US.

  • Before sharing my thoughts about Desir Toxic, according to Gail Gross review I have to say that the bottle looks astonishing. Designer they hired did hell of a job.
Finest ingredient in unfamiliar combination , sweet and alluring, spicy, patchouli and some hints of marijuana. Niche fragrance at it’s finest.
To me the best romantic movie ever is Ghost with Patrick Swayze RIP , Demi Moore , Woopi Goldberg and Tony Goldwyn.
    Thank you for the generosity
    USA

  • Sounds interesting since I’m curious how the fresher opening contrasts the patchouli and cannabis. I havent seen that much.
My fav from M Micallef is Patchouli
Im in the US. Thanks for the draw.

  • I enjoy Royal rose aloud by M. Micallef. Desir toxic sound wonderful too! The notes of black current and patchouli are ones that appeal to me. I live in California. Thank you for the chance to win.

  • I have never had a chance to try anything from M. Micallef. But I saw that the bottles of this brand are all fabulous, and I thing the scent of the perfumes are also wonderful. I heard a lot of good things about this brand. I like this review also, and I would be so happy if I would be the lucky winner and I could own a beautiful bottle of Desir Toxic. I very love the notes also. A darkly romantic movie, hmmm… Maybe the dark and mysterious love between Davy Jones and Calypso in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Thank you for the chance. I live in Europe.

  • Wow, the notes in DesirToxic are some of my favorites (bergamot, cardamom, cinnamon, tonka, benzoin, oakmoss) and I’ve been meaning to try a fragrance with a cannabis note for some time now! The transition from dark, cold, and fearful to erotic, opulent, and feral sounds like a fascinating experience, and the powerful longevity is an additional draw- what an amazing sounding fragrance, even with the difficulty of putting such things into words. My favorite M. Micallef fragrance is Gourmet. I am in the US 🙂

  • Ooh, this sounds gorgeous! I’m curious if it has a similar vibe to Dior Midnight Poison. I love the sound of that rich, mysterious drydown with the black currant combined with cinnamon and patchouli. Excited that is has such longevity on the skin!
    I live in the USA.

  • What a interesting combination: black currant, warmth of cannabis and spicy cinnamon worm vanilla, benzoin and oakmoss !!! Realy mysterious.
    I like Royal Vintage.
    from Armenia

  • Gail makes this fragrance sound like a magic potion capable of transporting you to another world. I would love to try it! I live in California, USA.

  • Wow! Excellent review, Gail! The notes for Desir Toxic sound absolutely amazing! My favorite M.Micallef from the few I’ve tried is Jewel for Him. I’m located in the United States.

  • Michael Prince says:

Gail, great review of M. Micallef Desir Toxic.  I really enjoy this fragrance based on the note breakdown and how Gail describes this fragrance with the dark tonka, benzoin, vanilla, and cardamom. The dirty patchouli with the combo of the other notes sounds very good to me. I am from the USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

I don’t have a favorite M. Micallef fragrance because I haven’t tried anything from this house.

  • Wow, what a beautiful bottle! Matches the description head on. I love all of the notes in this, and have some fragrances that share a lot of the same notes. I have not had the pleasure of sampling this house as of yet. Thank you for the draw! US.

  • Interesting combination and the heart being black current soaked in cannabis and spiked with cinnamon …this perfume seems quite an courageous creation, as it has such unusual combination of notes. Beautiful bottle.
I have never tried any of M. Micallef’s fragrances.
My favorite darkly romantic movie is Ghost.
Thanks for the giveaway. I live in Romania.

  • Great review! I love dark, gothic scents, and this one includes many of my favorite notes. The bottle is also stunning. A recent-ish darkly romantic film I enjoyed was The Double Lover. For novels, Wuthering Heights is an obvious choice, but unparalleled in my opinion. I’m in the US.

  • What a mysterious fragrance this seems to be, from the wonderful and evocative review by Gail. I am usually drawn to fragrances with a “seductive darkness.” I also like fragrances that shift during the wearing. Here, the shifting light and darkness sounds intriguing.
    I haven’t tried anything from M. Micallef.
I like the Witching Hour books by Anne Rice.
    I live in the USA.

  • I’m familiar with not all , but most M. Micallef fragrances , and really like most , but there’s one thing they need to change , because it hurts them. Aoud Gourmet , Vanille Aoud , the whole Vanille collection and especially Ananda Tchai are all 100% unisex . If certain fragrance is labeled “For women” most guys wont even bother smelling it at the store , and vice versa – Avant-Garde is a fragrance my girlfriend loves on her skin.
Not familiar with Desir Toxic , but I’ll try getting a sample as soon as possible.
Intimate , perfect for a theater , opera , or a walk with your special one , but at the same time playful enough for a close encounter – that’s how i feel about Desir Toxic after reading Gail review. Resinous fragrances with vanilla are perfect for all the occasions I’ve mentioned.
Own personalized bottle of Delice , and i had Avant-Garde . Had … because my gf used like 90% of it .
Thank you Gail and M. Micallef .
Virginia USA , or London UK/EU at least 97/100 times.

  • Each and every very time I’m seeing cassis as a note in fragrances, I’m starting craving cassis juice , candies, cookies and so on. Grew up in Europe, and I’m used to the smell and taste of cassis. In US cassis is commonly known as black currant, but most don’t even know the smell and the taste of it , because of some federal ban of growing cassis from 100 years ago. In some states the ban still exists, including Virginia where I live at the moment. It’s really hard to find cassis , and cassis products in some parts of US , and I find all of this mind boggling.
Not a linear fragrance we have here. Fresh start , warm, spicy cinnamony base , potent patchouli. I love complex scents.
Sampled a few Micallef fragrances and the one that got my attention was Aoud Gourmet. I did 50/50 split with my sister in law after buying a bottle, and I’m happy now , plus I kept the bottle haha. It is a potent one , and half a bottle will last me ages.
    Beautiful draw , thanks.
USA most of the year , and Germany from time to time .

  • Such a beautiful review Gail !
A fragrance must be amazing when it’s “resistant to words”.
I love fragrances that evolve and have contrasting qualities. The fact that the contrast between the dark and light continues until the very ends is great.
My favorite M.Micallef perfumes is Akowa.
A darkly romantic movie i love is “Love me if you dare”

Thank you for the review and generous draw !
    I’m in Romania, EU.

  • Partially balsamic, partially vanillic and mossy and big blast of patchouli . Desir Toxic should be special occasions only fragrance, you wear when you want to feel classy, or on a date with a beautiful girl.
Thank you Gail for introducing this house , and fragrance in such a nice way.
I’m not into romantic movies, but ‘A star is born’ is a great one. Exceeded my expectations big time.
    USA

  • Excellent review by Gail and I want anything Mr Grey has! This fragrance sounds amazing and I love the 12 hour longevity. I was intrigued by “M. Micallef Desir Toxic evokes this haunting beauty, the dark desires of men and women, the humid, mysterious breath of moonlit forests and the cool sighs of lost souls. Desir Toxic is a sprawling gothic romance of a fragrance, calling forth and then conquering fears, instigating and then dispelling the greedy demons or strange creatures that could very well be lurking in the mind and heart.” This one has many of my favorite notes and I love that the cannabis note is in this one. Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Where I live is just settling down a bit from hurricane Dorian and I’m just getting signal back! Just in time to enter this wonderful giveaway before the deadline. • I loved this article fir it”s description if notes and elements having a will of their own. It makes this fragrance sounds full of character or even alive ! Dark, dark florals, and forbidden scents are always interesting. I live in the usa, ms. My favorite from M Micallef is midnight in Paris edp. My favorite dark romantic novel is howl’s moving castle.

  • It is the fear and the desire. They are on the same spectrum. And when they meet, fear is sublimated to desire ,and desire is amplified by fear. Thanks for the chance to win this.
