Jovoy Paris Fire At Will Review (Vanina Muracciole) 2021+ Vanilla Seduction Draw

Jovoy Paris Fire At Will review

Jovoy Paris Fire At Will Draw © Steven

When I first heard the name for Jovoy Paris Fire At Will, the newest from the brand, I said OK!! Francois Henin, (the creative director, owner of Jovoy Parfums Rares and brand director of Jeroboam and Jovoy Paris) is stirring up trouble.. again. Jovoy Paris is known for several fragrances with “battle themes”. Think of the perfumes such as Incident Diplomatique (Diplomatic Incident) and earlier “l’Art de la Guerre” (The art of war) …   (And let’s not forget Rouge Assassin).

So I asked Francois Henin to explain to our readers and viewers why he chose that name.

“Yes of course we are at war. But forget canons, bombs and battles, it’s all about love of course. I always considered that perfume is not an accessory or just something that makes us feel good because it smells great. Perfume can be a final touch (like “touche finale”) in a beauty ritual. Like, once you are ready to go out after your other rituals are over such as make up here, adjusting a shirt in a certain way, haircut, choosing your best accessories, scarfs, jewels … In the end, just a few sprays and we are ready to go. But where are we going? To meet her? to see him? why wear a perfume if not to sign our presence and to tell the world we are here, and let’s be honest, to attract, to seduce.

Seduction …. what is seduction in perfumery?

This is at this very stage of the story I got the idea to ask Vanina Muracciole to work on a vanilla. But a gourmand one, fruity more than leathery, mouthwatering…. A super seductive potion that the entire world will understand at first spray. This is my message with this perfume: spray and go, seduce, no surrender! Let’s put everything else behind us and get back to some kind of normality,

Let’s fire at will, shall we? -Francois Henin

For Jovoy Paris Fire At Will, perfumer Vanina Muracciole adds her personal signature, a little je ne sais quoi that makes the difference. This time it was an amazing mimosa note on top that added a unique twist.

Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

The listed notes are Vanilla, musk, brown sugar

  • Francois Henin says one should think of perfume as a final touch in the beauty ritual. Steven says Fire at Will has a very realistic vanilla rendition and it will particularly appeal to vanilla lovers. I am in US.

  • Boy or boy you got me very interested Michelyn and Steven!
“super seductive potion that the entire world will understand at first spray. This is my message with this perfume: spray and go, seduce, no surrender!” What can I say you got me!
Would love to win this gorgeous bottle
    In New York

  • You had me at a super seductive potion that the entire world will understand at first spray. The notes seem simple but intriguing at the same time. I really love gourmand fragrances and this offering is quite up my alley

  • I love the part of the quote that says to wear a perfume to sign our presence. That is a perfect example of why I wear fragrance and vanilla definitely signs my presence. Steven says this opens with vanilla and I love when I can smell vanilla right off the bat. And I love that he says it has sex appeal. I am in New York.

  • Hellenic Perfumology says:

As soon as I found out out jovoy will be releasing a vanilla take i was super pumped! One of my favorite fragrances of all time is Psychedelique and I know jovoy is not messing with the quality or the bottles and presentation. So here im with fingers crossed after watching Steven’s review which made my hype even greater! Good luck to everyone.

  • Jovoy Paris Fire At Will is all about seduction Henin’s makes that clear in many words. “Yes of course we are at war. But forget canons, bombs and battles, it’s all about love of course” Great Quote. Steven says This is a wonderful Vanilla Fragrance. Unfortunately Cafleurebon on Instagram has been hacked. Please follow the new account. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • I think the name is brilliant. I absolutely love puns and subtle hints at important global issues. 😉 Too true about the battle themes in previous fragrances. However, I can’t say that I agree that love, especially in its more distilled forms, involves war – passion and lust certainly – but not by its traditional definition. Conflict – undoubtedly, competition – frequently, excitement to the point of fanaticism – on occasion. Seduction is a complicated process, directed by subconscious programming and mitigated by conscious noise. Luckily, it’s very easy to slip undetected beneath the critical factor with a delectable fragrance. Precious moments in which to install a promising impression. Very interested to hear Steven’s comparison of mimosa to almond flour. Definitely has that vibe imo. Also found the contast with other well-known vanillas helpful. Really does sound like a winning gourmand for the holiday season. A great review! USA

  • I’m a huge gourmand fan who would love to win this bottle (Remember Me is my favorite Jovoy perfume). Like Steven said, this is the perfect time of year for a vanilla fragrance. The brown sugar accord makes Fire At Will sound unique, as does the mimosa mentioned by Michelyn. I appreciate the idea of putting everything else behind us and get back to some kind of normality from Francois Henin. ~Indiana, USA

  • Yes, please! I’ve wanted to try the house for a while. Steven is awesome! Thanks for the draw. From Indianapolis.

  • I really dig the press release bottle! That red is really cool! I wonder how the liquid inside smells!
Thank you for the review and for the draw!

  • The weather is getting colder, and I’m pulling out my sweeter, cozier fragrances. Jovoy is one of my favorite houses, and this sounds like it’s coming out at the perfect time – a combo of brown sugar and musk is a gourmand dream. Steven’s recommendation suggests to me that it’s going to be right up my alley. I’m in Pittsburgh, and this sounds like it would work splendidly in the winter months!

  • Yana Vaysberg says:

Jovoy have been very intriguing with naming of their perfumes . Steven said it opens with vanilla and I know this perfume is up my alley. And I agree with François Henin that perfume can be a very powerful ammunition to announce someone’s presence or even claim the territory)
    I’m in US

  • I loved the description Francois Henin said about the fragrance and the comparisson it makes of a war that is about love. I love vanilla fragrances so of course this one would be great for the collection. I really love incident diplomatique from the house. Jovoy surely releases great fragrances. I´m in Virginia

  • First of all, thanks for the draw!
A gourmand offering from Jovoy? I’m sold on this already as I’ve tried L’Arte de la Guerre and enjoyed it very much.
I liked how Michelyn tied in other players of this house into the conversation to raise the question of Francois, why Fire At Will? Francois’ quote is perfect. In the art of seduction scent plays a part without a doubt. It can be a make or break moment when someone moves in closer for a sniff or a kiss. Vanilla and musk are always seductive and as the great poet Cher Horowitz says, ‘whenever a boy comes, you should always have something baking.’
I enjoy that the listed notes are simple and that the vanilla is not that sickeningly sweet vanilla chemical alternative.

I’m in WI, USA and thanks again!

  • The listed notes of vanilla, musk and brown sugar sound like a cozy winter gourmand. I can see how such a warm, inviting fragrance would be seductive. The mimosa note on top brings some elegance to the composition. Nice review Steven! I do not have a favorite Jovoy Paris perfume. I’m in MD, USA.

  • Diane S. Jones says:

I read the article by Michelyn Camen and it was very informative. I loved the part of the quote from Francios Henin when he said “spray and go, seduce, no surrender!”
Steven’s review definitely makes me want to buy it right now. But you mean to say that we can not buy buy it in that gorgeous red bottle? That makes me very sad, because that red bottle is absolutely gorgeous.

  • Well, I got seduced today for sure by Michelyn’s introduction, Francois Henin’s quote and Steven’s review of “Fire At Will”.
“Perfumer Vanina Murraciole adds her personal signature, a little je ne sais quoi that makes the difference, that I am beginning as a signature. This time it was an amazing mimosa note on top that adds a unique twist to ubiquitous vanilla fragrances.”
That is very interesting fragragrance that we all here get very intrigued and curious. Thank you for this draw and for your generosity.

Vanilla is about seduction and gourmet pleasure that highlights any note in perfumery. I love vanilla I am addicted to vanilla.
Like uou describe in review: “super seductive potion that the entire world will understand at first spray. This is my message with this perfume: spray and go, seduce, no surrender!”
I am from EU Bucharest Romania Europe

  • I enjoyed reading about the name of Fire At Will and the battle theme fragrances. I liked the way Steven described the mimosa note and the uniquness of the fragrance. My favorite from Jovoy Paris is Liturgie des Heures. Thanks for another great article and review. Mich USA

  • Jarrid Steele says:

I love this quote “A super seductive potion that the entire world will understand at first spray. This is my message with this perfume: spray and go, seduce, no surrender! Let’s put everything else behind us and get back to some kind of normality”. YES! I agree with this sentiment 100%.

There is a boutique in my city that has the whole collection of Jovoy Paris, excluding Fire At Will because they haven’t received it yet. It’s difficult to pick a favorite because there are so many great fragrances from the house. If I had to pick a top three, they would be in third place, 21 Conduit St., in second place L’Art De Guerre and finally, my top favorite from the house is Psychedelique.

I would love to win a bottle of Fire At Will. I love everything about this article and introduction, Michelyn obviously knows the house very well as she name dropped so many fragrances from the house. As always, Steven’s passion and enthusiasm is my favorite part of all his videos.

I’m so excited for this release as I love vanilla gourmands. Please pick me!!!!

  • You definitely had my attention at super seductive potion that the entire world will understand at first spray. Henin makes it clear it’s a seductive scent. Steven is always so descriptive and on point with his reviews, I’m a huge vanilla fan and he says you get vanilla right of top.

    Favorite from jovoy- psychedelique

I do follow you guys in the new Instagram page- my username is kenscents_

  • I feel that Michelyn very astutely identified that several Jovoy fragrances have “battle themes” based on their titles and concepts, and appreciated Francois Henin’s quote explaining that perfume helps us fight for love and beauty in trying times. Steven’s review was thorough and engaging and I found his explanation of mimosa having an almond flour facet very helpful to understanding what Jovoy Fire At Will smells like. My favorite Jovoy is Remember Me but I think I might like Fire At Will even more based on this review! I am in the US and follow CaFleureBon on its new Instagram page; my username is shrsy. I am also a Redolessence subscriber on YouTube. Thanks for the great content and giveaway!

  • Mohamed Tarek Ahmed says:

I am in awe, the combination of vanilla with brown sugar and mimosas must be very very reminiscent of Xerjoff’s italica with lavender with vanilla with caramel. I am really interested in the pattern here and I love psychedelique and I am sure the quality will be excellent

  • Perfume_Madness says:

My favorite perfume right now is by Jovoy and its Remember Me! This sounds amazing and I will need a bottle!!! Steven is the best! Mimosa, brown sugar, VANILLA!!

  • I always look forward to Michelyn’s introductions because I always get fun facts about the brands that I didn’t know. I learned that Jovoy has several battle themed fragrance names, how interesting.
I quite agree with Francois Henin’s quote that we are at war, but it’s all about love. How appropriate for the current times.
Steven’s review was very informative. He mentioned the fragrance was perfectly unisex (even though from the notes, you would expect it to be feminine). And I love unisex vanilla scents.
I have only tried one fragrance from Jovoy which is “Remember Me” and it’s on my wish list this Christmas so I would have to say that one is my favorite.

  • Phillip A Luna III says:

As I was reading your description of preparing for battle or beauty ritual your article states, my mind is imagining a woman with this kind of attitude, not like the woman on the cannon, but a different woman. As I scrolled on my phone to finish reading the article,l scrolled just enough to see a picture of Vanina Murraciole and in my imagination,it was her Vanina looking confident in charge and beautiful if not gorgeous. She looks like she has the confidence to FIRE AT WILL.If I was in charge of making a commercial about this perfume, she would be cast as the lead. Once again Steven did a wonderful job ! Can’t wait to try this scent.

  • Great review from Steven. Love vanilla and with the brown sugar and mimosa it sounds great. I also liked learning about the inspiration and the name. Thank you for explaining the bottle difference I actually asked that question twice so good to know. Ive not tried any Jovoy fragrances but Remember Me is one ive wanted to try and Fire At Will is def at the top of the list now. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA. • Juvenal Soto says:

I am very intrigued by this perfume I’ve been trying a lot of vanilla fragrances lately so I want to know how amazing this fragrance is compare to the other ones I know redolessence really got me hyped for this fragrance he said it’s the best vanilla fragrance of the year. I’m in the US California

  • For Jovoy Paris Fire At Will, perfumer Vanina Murraciole adds her personal signature, a little je ne sais quoi that makes the difference. This time it was an amazing mimosa note on top that added a unique twist.

    Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

The listed notes are Vanilla, musk, brown sugar. Really intrigued by notes especially brown sugar and vanilla mostly. My favourite from this house is Psychedelique. I follow @cafleurebonoffer my username is amnaaziz5296@gmail.com. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • This is at this very stage of the story I got the idea to ask Vanina Murraciole to work on a vanilla.

-Francois Henin. A beautiful description by the owner. I am intrigued by the notes especially Vanilla and brown sugar in particular. I don’t have experience with this house but I am intrigued by the notes and perfumer. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • Great review by Steven for a very interesting vanilla scent! Ms Henin says that perfume is not an accessory but a final touch and I agree in the sense of perfume is something I carry more than I wear on my skin all the day long: an olfactory expression of an idea : love and seduction in this case. Didn´t realize ,until Michelyn said, that Jovoy has in its portfolio several fragrances with “battle themes”.
The juice is around ,from base to top, vanilla. The star of the show os Steven said. A juicy and sweet one (not overly even with the brown sugar) aided by the mimosa, that gives a powdery, starchy character to the vanilla and, of course the floral nuances. I am vanilla lover, so this scent, in such a beautiful bottle is my dream. My favorite perfume of Jovoy is Remember me, also a beautiful gourmand by Mme. Zarokian. I live in Spain, EU.

  • Jovoy Paris Fire At Will draws one into seducing the senses. Steven described Fire At Will as a Vanilla Masterpiece! Realistic vanilla, musk, toasted brown sugar accord, and mimosa sounds like “The Succulent Dessert of Perfumery!”

  • I felt Michelyn’s opening was a good place to start reminding us of the house’s similar themed names. Francois’s quote was a unique take on things. From the vid I got this, “amazing vanilla”. US

  • Oh my, I am very interested! I am a vanilla lover, and everything about this note gets me excited. And what a beautiful quote. A war of love… I bet this is a potion, and I truly want to try it.
I love several of Jovoy. Remember Me, Incident Diplomatique are just a couple of them.
    I live in Lithuania, EU.

  • My favorite Jovoy fragrance is Pavollion Rouge but this sounds absolutely lovely as well! I would like to take part in the draw, I live in Finland. I follow the new Instagram page @cafleurbonofficial, user name juhah_

  • Michelyn’s introduction was short but sweet and Francois Henin’s quote is the real star of the show and it perfectly sums up my feeling about perfumes, albeit not all of the time, but most of the time. The art of seduction is truly invalid without a perfume to do the silent part of seduction – but most effective part of the seduction. As always, Steven’s review is great, love watching his enthusiasm about perfumes – he truly knows how to get a viewer excited about a perfume. As for Jovoy perfumes, I loved Psychedelique and Incident Diplomatique! I live in Croatia, EU.

  • I would love to win this! I love Francois Benin’s idea of using perfume as a final touch because that’s exactly what it is. It’s that finishing touch that represents who you are when going out into the world. When Steven described it as having a natural vanilla and toasted brown sugar touch I knew I needed it!

I’m also following on Instagram! My handle is @cashley7

  • I felt curious about the mimosa note from Michelyn’s introduction, Francois Henin’s quote made me feel inspired to try Fire at Will because I use perfume as my final component to my outfit before I go out the door and love the concept of firing at will with perfume, and Steven’s video made me feel excited about this fragrance because I love vanilla fragrance and gourmands generally. My favorite from Jovoy so far is Touche Final but Fire at Will might dethrone it!
I am in Oregon in USA.

  • I’ve yet to try anything from Jovoy Paris but I love how this is depicted as sort of a “love potion” vanilla. Vanilla can go in either a juvenile direction or a very sexy one and this definitely sounds like the latter. I am in New England.

  • Yeah, really liked this part: ‘This is at this very stage of the story I got the idea to ask Vanina Murraciole to work on a vanilla.

-Francois Henin’

I feel like I need this to be added to my wardrobe for the special nights when you want to feel super sexy.

    Thank you! Europe

  • Vanilla, mimosa, seduction… Oh, you seduced me for sure! I want to feel it, breathe it, taste it, take it to bed…. Ig: @nikolina_84

  • I’m into quality niche and indie fragrances for around 15-16 years, but Jovoy I discovered 3 years ago . I was so wrong with my “Maybe later” policy towards the house.
Remember Me is in my possession now, green tea, warm, spicy and lactonic. Must try fragrance ! My favorite Jovoy. Private Label I love too , macho man feel is definitely present. The booziness is so strong on my skin, it’s so dry ,
The complexity of Fire At Will intrigues me. Natural smelling vanilla, toasted brown sugar, and almonds , splendid and joyful fragrance I’d love to win.
Followed the new Cafleurebon account on Instagram , when I’ve heard what happened. jonathan.finley.barber is my user name
Thank you Michelyn , Steven and Jovoy

  • I need me a good vanilla scent! This one seems to check all the boxes. Seduction is a great thing to have in a perfume. Steven is awesome! Thanks for the draw. From Indianapolis.

  • My favorite was let’s fire at will , how can you not love and appreciate when someone is 100% behind what they say? It gets you excited for what’s to come.

I also appreciate stevens review , I’ve tried every jovoy to date except this one so it was incredibly helpful to hear how it fits among the line .

My favorite from the line is psycadelic 🙂

  • I feel that Michelyn’s introduction is a great one. Francois Henin’s quote is fantastic and Steven’s review is fabulous with lots of interesting details. Private Label is my favorite from Javoy Paris. I live in Poland, EU.

  • Stephen mentioned that this isn’t a juvenile vanilla and Francois Henin describing it as “Super Seductive” lets me know that this is grown and sexy. My love for gourmands has just intensified with these descriptions. My favorite from Jovoy is “Private Label”…

  • Fire At Will,Vanina Murraciole creates for Javoy a vanilla , mimosa, burnt sugar rounded fragrance beautiful like a weapon, a seduction one, bursting with joy and made me crave for it! From Romania with love

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

Wow, again a great fragrance and an amazing review from Steven and that for me as a gourmand fragrance lover. Top ! Many greetings from Germany

  • Enjoyed reading Michelyn’s interview with Francois Henin, where he describes the origin of the name Fire at Will for this perfume. Interesting that it’s designed for seduction and not battle!! Steven’s video review as always is fun to watch and learn from. Glad to hear that it’s not a juvenile, puerile perfume but a mature vanilla fragrance. I’m of course a Redolessence subscriber and like Steven’s videos for the way he describes perfumes. Fire at Will comes in a beautiful bottle too. From what Michelyn and Steven said, it could be a great gift item for Christmas, winter, cold season. Thanks for the review and draw. Writing from the USA.

  • Thanks for the article Michelyn and Steven!

Some great questions for Francois Henin. It’s always interesting to hear why a specific name is chosen. I like that Fire At Will is a methaphor for going out to impress, seduce and conquer love!

You can’t go wrong with a delicious vanilla bomb and Steven sold it to me when he described it as an elegant sophisticated perfume that is still playful and seductive. I can’t wait to try it!

I have followed the new @cafleurebonofficial instagram page! @ronaldjapenga.

    Greetings from the UK!

  • I really like how François Henin wants this perfume to be sedictive and easy to understand. Perfume marketing can tend to be very pretentive, but this is just delightfully down-to-earth. And vanilla with a twist of mimosa does sound delicious. As someone with very little experience with mimosa, Steven’s comparison to almond flour was very helpful. Overall, I could picture the scent after his review. My favorite Jovoy so far is Les Jeux sont Faits. Both Ambre Premier and L’Art de la Guerre come close.

    I live in Denmark, EU.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s enthusiasm about a new Jovoy fragrance. Sometimes that gets lost in the shuffle of things, she seemed especially interested in the mimosa note. Steve us a fan of gourmands and vanilla scents so to hear him say it’s an excellently executed vanilla lovers scent says a lot. Vanilla is my favorite note and the cold weather here in Minnesota really makes these gourmand scents feel alive.

  • Dimitri WENGER says:

  • I’m a big fan of jovoy fragrance I love them all but my favorite would have to be remember me. Fire at will sound amazing as a lover of gourmand fragrances I’m sure I will love this fragrance.

  • I’m a big fan of jovoy fragrance I love them all but my favorite would have to be remember me. Fire at will sound amazing as a lover of gourmand fragrances I’m sure I will love this fragrance.

  • I liked Michelyn’s point about many of Jovoy’s fragrances being battle-themed, I had never picked up on that before. I like Francois Henin’s quote that “Perfume can be a final touch” which comes up in fragrance often (similar to how Kilian describes how his fragrances can be used as a shield or a weapon). I also liked Steven’s description of the vanilla in this fragrance, and I am particularly intrigued by his comment that this may be the best vanilla release of the year. My favorite Jovoy fragrance is Remember Me. I follow the cafleurbon Instagram and my username is wrm_01.

  • Lyenna Bigelow says:

Love this concept of seduction. Spray and go, seduce and no surrender!
I love Remember Me and the notes on this one sound so attractive. Great review. Thank you for the chance to win!

  • Ever since Jovoy Fire At Will was released, I knew I had to try it. It’s interesting that Michelyn mentions the “battle theme” that occurs in some Jovoy fragrances. I had actually never noticed, so thank you for pointing that out. I love how Francois says although we are at war, it’s all about love. It sounds like Fire At Will is intended to seduce and does not surrender. It makes sense since it is a combination of vanilla, brown sugar, and mimosa. I love how Steven mentions that the vanilla comes across as very realistic and that there’s a toasted note from the brown sugar. As Steven points out, mimosa can smell like almond flour which comes off as powdery in Fire At Will. My favorite Jovoy fragrance is Gardez Moi, followed by Remember Me. Thank you for the article and the giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • Ah, almost all of my favourite notes: vanilla, musk, brown sugar! And I usually love almost ever perfume with the word “fire” in its name. I expect something really sweet and musky! I live in France.

  • Thank you Michelyn for the intro, it’s always a pleasure to hear the perfumer’s vision for the creation and Fire At Will was no different and it brought to mind James Last’s beautiful musical piece – The Seduction 🙂 Steven’s review was as always very descriptive and easy to relate with and I especially liked his description of a flirty but sophisticated vanilla fragrance. I can’t get enough of vanilla and my favorite from Jovoy so far is Psychédélique and Insulo from Jeroboam. I am following @Cafleurebonofficial instagram with username @sngashig. I’m in USA

  • Very cool how Michelyn drew the attention on the “war” related themes that Jovoy tackles in its perfumes, and how Francois Henan pointed out this is about a love attack, not a violence one…”make love not war” I suppose!
Steven was clear and precise as always, underlining that this is a vanilla centric perfume WITH added sweetness from the brown sugar.
My fav Jovoy is Psychedelique…that patch!
    I’m in Denmark.

  • I like how Michelyn’s introduction provides a good bridge into Francois Henin’s quote by giving examples of the type of provocative naming behind the perfumes which has intrigued me for a while now.

Francois Henin’s quote makes a lot of sense in trying to portray the inspiration behind the perfume and how it is like makes even more sense now with the quote.

Steven’s review was great for the comparisons he made to other famous fragrances and provided a good comparison point for me to imagine what this new perfume is like.

Thanks for the awesome giveaway and hope I win this! I have been a fan of Jovoy for a while now and my favourite scent is Remember Me, another gourmand!

  • David hernandez says:

Hi I watch you chanel and is interesting I like you present some fragance different I see every Day on different YouTube review and course I love fragrances with some vanilla fragance

  • I always enjoys Steven’s reviews. And who doesn’t love a yummy vanilla fragrance? I love the simplicity of the notes with mimosa as a top note. I’ve never had the pleasure of owning any Jovoy Paris fragrances but would love for this to be my first.
    I live in the US.

  • Psychedelique and Ambre Premier are the best Jovoy fragrances, both are in my possession.
I have to say Psychedelique is beyond gorgeous, one of the best dark chocolate patchouli scents ever.Ambre Premier easy to wear amber , candied orange , rose , vanilla and musk.
Fire At Will i think is sweeter , more playful, entertaining, and suitable for a bar .
Final touch to a classy outfit , Francois Henin knows how to please a tailor like me .
    I’ll look for samples .
    Thank you all

  • Big vanilla fan here, some of my favorites are based around vanilla!! Yes yes yes perfume is like the final touch… Not just a scent!! Gourmand vanilla fragrance with mimosa, sounds very intriguing to me!! Steven always breaks down the notes like no other IMO thanks for introducing us. Perfect for this time of year!! USA

Thanks Cafleurebon, Michelyn & Steven for the review & opportunity!! Good luck everyone!!

  • wandering_nose says:

am grateful to Michelyn for enquiring with Francois Henin about what was driving him when choosing both the name and the perfumer for the fragrance as both choices seem masterful. I agree with Monsieur Henin that we are at war these days and it is up to us, our bravery and determination to win it against all odds. We deserve to put everything else behind us and getting back to some kind of normality. We deserve to love and be loved, be among people and flourish while being our best selves. I love how Steven describes the vanilla in the fragrance and the effect it creates along with the smooth, starchy quality of mimosa. I am a follower of the new CaFleureBon account on Instagram, under the user name of _cathy_reilly_. My favorite Jovoy Paris fragrance is Psychedelique but I would love to try Fire at Will as I adore unique vanilla perfumes. I am based in Ireland, EU.

  • Jasmeet singh says:

Actually I like the intro as a big vanilla lover and having mentioned seduction which is quite interesting to listen in a perfume. I would love if you guys mentioned abt projection and silage of the perfume also.

  • Coming from a Pastry Chef point of view, who makes his own vanilla extract from highest class Gourmet grade vanilla only , I’d like to clarify a few important things (to me at least), about a claim Steven made in his review

“Vanilla can come across smelling synthetic, especially when they use the vanillin counterpart”

    1. Vanillin does not necessarily mean synthetic, there’s natural and synthetic vanillin. Natural vanillin is just one of the hundreds other compounds found in the vanilla extract.
    2. Almost no one uses vanillin in culinary, and perfumery, but ethylvanillin instead, more expensive, and at least 3 times stronger compound compared to vanillin. I do believe Guerlain started using ethylvanillin first around 200 years ago.
    3. Despite the common belief in the fragrance community , very few people can distinguish vanillin , ethylvanillin and natural vanilla extract. Several control tests were made, both in USA, Germany and France, and smell and taste wise under 10% can tell the difference. My impressions are exactly the same.

Below are my actual thoughts on Jovoy Fire At Will
    …………

“But a gourmand one, fruity more than leathery, mouthwatering….”

Fire At Will checks all the boxes, I’m so pumped about the new Jovoy Paris fragrance .
Francois Henin interview with Michelyn, and Steven review instantly reminded me of making the classical Almond Flour Vanilla Cake , with toasted Brown sugar , and Raw almonds on top , cake every up-and-coming Pastry Chef is learning how to make during the training process.
I only know two Jovoy fragrances . Bought a sample, and later bottle of Incident Diplomatique because of Sebastian speaking highly about it literally all the time. Special occasions only perfume.
Ambre Premier I sampled, and bought because of Dana Sandu Cafleurebon review. Smells like Caramel Rose Wedding Cake with Peaches , with real rose water in it.
Appreciate the interview with François Henin, Steven review, and the giveaway campaign

  • Bryant Worley says:

I really appreciated Michelyn’s introduction getting us ready for Henin’s comments, and letting us know Jovoy’s other ‘battle-themed’ fragrances.

Steven was very thorough in his review, especially in letting us know that we will be smelling real, unadulterated vanilla. BOO-YAH!

Henin’s inspiration for this fragrance was excellent – ‘Fire at Will’, taking hearts as prisoners. Or, better yet, in his own words: “spray and go, seduce, no surrender!”

I’ve tried a few Jovoy, and my favorite is “Incident Diplomatique”. I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • Love all things vanilla and this sounds marvelous and indeed seductive. Great review by Steven. From CA, USA

  • Jovoy Paris is by far the best fragrance boutique i’ve ever been to-no US boutique comes even remotely close , or it will ever be.
When rich, sweet and delightful fragrance meets super seductive potion , then Fire At Will comes to play.
I believe the fragrance will easily become one of Jovoy bestsellers , sounds fantastic.
I’m happy to have my favorite Jovoy – Remember Me , and my second favorite Incident Diplomatique.
Thanks and cheers with Ron Zacapa XO

I love how Michelyn introduce Jovoy and Fire at will, it really made me grasp for more, good job!
And, I really love how Francois explained the idea and the name for this one, war about love! I really agree, I also deeply relate to this, as a shy person, I use perfume to serve as my armor, to empower myself, making me experience a boost in confidence as I go into my daily war to survive. I also use it as my ammunition to gather attention, to seduce. and to express. I really love perfumery! <3 Thank you Francois for awakening my subconscious thoughts on why I use perfume.
Thank you Steven for a great in-depth review, as always!
    Cheers from USA <3

  • They all make me want to have this gorgeous vanilla in my favorite perfume collection – vanilla abd sweets! ❤️❤️ Instagram @skin.on.me ❤️

  • I can’t wait to try this one. I love a majority of vanilla based fragrances. Steven’s review was great as always. I love the red press bottle as well. I own a few Jovoy’s. Remember Me is one I have been wearing lately that has vanilla in the base, and I hope to get a full bottle of Pavillion Rogue this upcoming summer, which also has a vanilla note. One thing I noticed about Jovoy is they all have something in them that identifies as a Jovoy as soon as I smell one of their fragrances. I find that Henins quote about being the last or final added accessory is true, depending on what you are wearing, and where you are going. Also I never put two and two together about the fragrance names being battle related until Michelyn stated something. My favorite Jovoy is probably Pavillion Rogue but I also love Incident Diplomatique. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • Great review. Stephen has a knack for describing the notes, which I always love. The quote is fantastic, I love the metaphor. All is fair in love and war! Michelyn picked a great quote. Cheers from NC, USA.

I have followed the Instagram. My handle is @an****. I don’t want to write it out fully (this is a bad privacy practice) but I will provide my username if my comment is counted twice and I win.

  • Steven review, and Francois Henin interview with Michelyn, drew a picture in my mind, how I’m wearing my newest acquisitions, Burberry black evening dress and Black Leather Dashwood Pumps i bought from Nordstrom, all done, and I’m waiting for my husband to pick me up for romantic night out. In the background is singing Beyonce’s hit “Naughty girl”

“I’m feelin’ kind of n-a-s-t-y I just might take you home with me
Baby the minute I feel your energy
Your vibe’s just taken over me
    Start feelin’ so crazy babe
Lately, I feel the funk coming over me
    I don’t know what’s gotten into me
The rhythm’s got me feelin’ so crazy babe”

Fire At Will sounds phenomenal, high end seductive potion , I’d love to win.
Les Jeux Sont Faits is my favorite Jovoy. Underrated tobacco and rum gem I own.
    Thanks for the draw

  • Great intro by Michelyn about the interesting names of fragrances by Jovoy. I like what Mr. Francois Henin said, “Let’s put everything else behind us and get back to some kind of normality, Let’s fire at will, shall we?”
Steven’s description about the unique gourmand vanilla got me very interested. I have never tried any other fragrances from Jovoy Paris, so I would love to have it.
Thank you so much for the opportunity.

  • Interesting that mimosa is the little something special in this fragrance. Love Steve’s review. Best vanilla of 2021, I’d love to win this. My favorite of the line is Remember Me. Thanks for the chance. Usa.

  • msnitechemist says:

Thank you, Michelyn and Steven, for your thoughts on this one from Jovoy. I have been looking a while for something seductive for special occasions, and who could argue with Francois Henin saying “spray and go, seduce, no surrender!” The name Fire at Will is also perfect for a Sagittarius! We stir up trouble, just like Michelyn said, haha. Fingers crossed I win this one. I live in the US.

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Michelyn’s introduction learning more about the brand Jovoy Paris and their battle themes fragrance line. Francois Henin’s quote “Yes of course we are at war. But forget canons, bombs and battles, it’s all about love of course. Steven says this sweet gourmand and vanilla lover’s fragrance is about love and seduction and this also has the unique twist of Mimosa added by perfumer Vanina Murraciole to make this beauty standout. My favorite fragrance from Jovoy Paris is Remember Me. I am from the USA.

  • Very beautifully presented. Steven explains the technical aspects very well and makes you try to figure out the smell in your mind, while Francois paints a more poetic picture to accompany the fragrance. Well done. Although to be honest, you had me at Vanilla and gourmand.

I follow cafleurebon on Instagram, username alexisabelin.
    Love, from Sweden.

  • Thanks to Michelyn and Steven for their opinions. I have heard so many good things about job of but have not tried them yet.

I like that Michelyn got the backstory of the name and why it was chosen. As for the quote I agree that i consider perfume my finishing touch as well. And particularly like these parts alot…
“Yes of course we are at war. But forget canons, bombs and battles, it’s all about love of course.”

“This is my message with this perfume: spray and go, seduce, no surrender! Let’s put everything else behind us and get back to some kind of normality,Let’s fire at will, shall we ?”

I was happy to see Steven reviewing this new fragrance, I love his excitement towards fragrances he enjoys and his detailed reviews. I agree with him that it seems this is comine out at the perfect time. I also believe I will love this perfume because at the end of his video he mentioned it being a must try for vanilla and gourmand lovers. Then going on to say it was in the top 5 vanilla of 2021. This tells me I have to try it since vanilla is my favorite comforting perfume note.

    Followed on your new instagram!
    @krystalb1993

  • I feel this perfume in my nose – that’s how good the introduction, quote and review was!
    I am @dazi83 on IG.

  • Oh I’ve been reading up on this one already, I think it would suit me so well! I love the name and had basically the same thought as Michelyn, there’s trouble brewing at Jovoy! 😀 Francois has a great explanation of the name, I really like the way he compares war and love and putting the final touches on a beauty ritual by “firing at will”! This is what I love about perfume, the interpretations and ideas of each and every individual.

Steven says this is going to be a vanilla lover’s dream, which sounds just like it was made for me! And I’m thankful he touches on the longevity and projection aspects of the fragrance, as those two things are quite important to me when choosing what to buy and wear.

I haven’t tried all Jovoy creations, but I really like Remember Me.

  • Oh boy oh boy!!
I’m so intrigued by this new release from the house of Jovoy Paris.
Reading Francois’s comment “a gourmand one, fruity more than leathery, mouthwatering” got me very hyped and mad me want to buy this perfume allthough i like fresh fragrances more. Also the note of mimosa seems interesting.Steven from Redolessence was very on topic, very informative as allways(best reviewer out there).I own psychedelique.conduit street, incident diplomatique and remember me.Looking forward to try this release and is on my to buy list for sure.I hope to win the draw :P.
    I’m in Greece!

  • I read Michelyn’s review with big pleasure. Answers of Francois Henin is very interesting.
Steven said it opens with vanilla- and I am big fun of vanilla !!
One pf my favorite from Jovoy is Remember Me.
    USA

  • “I always considered that perfume is not an accessory or just something that makes us feel good because it smells great. Perfume can be a final touch (like “touche finale”) in a beauty ritual”

    Preach François Henin, Preach !
In our beloved fragrance world, Jovoy Paris is THE GOAT greatest of all time, the epitome of niche fragrances knowledge, and service like no other.François Henin i had the absolute blast of meeting at the first Paris Jovoy boutique.
After such praises from Steven, François enthusiasm, and Michelyn approval my expectations for Fire at Will and beyond high. High Quality vanilla, brown sugar , mimosa … what can I say other than Fire At Will is seductive, but refined gourmand i need to try ASAP.
From Jovoy as a brand i do own full bottle of the famous Les Jeux sont Faits – fantastic night out scents. One of the best out there-to me at least.Remember Me i also own.
    All profiles I already follow.
Of course I followed @cafleurebonofficial ASAP after learned what those scammers did , @waltherp99bg
I also follow the other 2 Jovoy boutiques I’ve been to @jovoymayfair and @jovoyuae
    Thanks a lot

  • Wow! I didn’t realize that Francois Henin was involved in all these brands! I appreciate these little facts that Michelyn adds to her reviews/introductions.

I know how much Steven appreciates gourmands so he had my attention immediately. Fire At Will is right up my alley. A warm, cozy, mature vanilla. The note of mimosa is new for me so it sounds new and unique. Yes, I want this for Winter!

Francois Henin’s quote was thought provoking. It’s amazing how different you feel when you wear a fragrance out into the world. Makes me feel empowered and like I have a secret weapon.

I have yet to try any Jovoy fragrances, but there are many I’d like to. Psychedlique is the one I hear most about.

Thanks for the giveaway! In VA, USA

  • First of all, SOLD! If this were a battle for the hearts and minds of fragrance-lovers, you’ve won, at least as far as I’m concerned… What an idea, the themes of war and diplomacy in perfumery! Henin’s quote grabbed me, also. I like that they were really aiming to create a “weapon of seduction.” And then Steven’s video review gives us a real-world translation of what to expect, who can wear this and when, etc. I have not tried any Jovoy scents. (USA)

  • …..adjusting a shirt in a certain way, haircut, choosing your best accessories, scarfs, jewels…..spray and go, seduce, no surrender

    That’s…me .
Impressive job Steven and Michelyn, Fire At Will is right up my alley type of fragrance.
Sweet, flirtatious and provocative, but also inviting and not crossing the line.
What I find appealing in Steven review was the natural smelling vanilla, and his bold statement Fire At Will is one of the best vanilla fragrances that on the market in 2021 . Coming from a perfume, and vanilla lover like him , such assertion counts.
La Liturgie des Heures , Psychedelique , Les Jeux sont Faits Jovoy and Private Label are the Jovoy fragrances i have sampled last year . Les Jeux sont Faits i found to be the best smelling one of the four , $180 is what i paid for 100ml bottle from Luckyscent.
All the grown up characteristics of Fire At Will are so tempting , grown up gourmand done exceptionally well.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

Vanilla, musk, and mimosa sound like such a great combo. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels fragrance is the final touch. It’s always the last thing I do before walking out the door. Thanks for the review and draw. I’m in the US.

  • Claumarchini says:

I am really fond of Jovoy and Francois Henin (and Jeroboam of course!) and love the comparison between love and war with perfumes as a weapon to seduce! Although I am usually not too much into gourmand, this creation sounds really amazing, with a surely interesting taken on vanilla – thank you Steven for your reviews, they are always so nice and informative! I am so sorry Michelyn that Cafleurebon’s IG account has been hacked, I am now following Cafleurebon official, I hope things get back to normal! For now, à la guerre comme à la guerre! Greetings from Milan!

  • I’m a super gourmand person so that My IG account is @gourmand1134 . One of my frag friends just recommended this beautiful baby! Cuz I’m a gourmand lover and I was searching for good mimosa perfume to add to my collection! The notes sounds promising so I really wanna try it so badly . Hope I was not too late for participate the giveaway.

  • I still haven’t gotten a chance yet to try anything from Jovoy Paris. Certainly I’ve been wanting to try at least a few of their releases. I’ve been enjoying at least a few vanilla-prominent fragrances from my collection, and I’d like to try this one. Also, I want to see what the mimosa in this like. I live in MD., U.S.A. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  • Thank you for the great review Steven.

I’m not a huge fan of gourmands, but I sincerely appreciate your review. I did not know about Vanina Murraciole before (in spite of having heard of here creations). I’m excited to dive and see what else she has put out there.

I love how the vanilla in this review is . That bottle is absolutely stunning.

I liked Francois Henin’s take on fragrance as a final touch. I don’t think I have ever internalized the fact that my perfume is the last thing I put on when I leave the house – ready for whatever waits for me outside.

I appreciate Michelyns introduction because now I want to read into the perfumers other creations.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I was very surprised by the title, in English. Apart from 21 Conduit Street, which is the address of Jovoy in GB, all English names were made by Cecile Zarokian. Really surprised! Vanilla gourmand! I’ll check it out in Paris in December. Can’t wait to visit Jovoy again! Belgium.

  • Andrei Artimon says:

I love the part of the quote that says to wear a perfume to sign our presence. That is a perfect example of why I wear fragrance and vanilla definitely signs my presence. Steven says this opens with vanilla and I love when I can smell vanilla right off the bat. And I love that he says it has sex appeal. I am in New York, Usa.

  • sephrenia300 says:

What a fun article! I was very intrigued learning in michelyn’s introduction that Jovoy Paris is known for several fragrances with “battle themes” – now I really want to try The At of War! And Francois Henin’s quote about fragrance as the “final touch” of a ritual really resonated with me – it’s the last thing I reach for before I run out the door, and it really gives me that extra boost of confidence. And what I really enjoyed Stephen’s video review is that he finds the vanilla not incredibly natural, organic, and true to life, unlike many frragrances that can come off synthetic because of the inclusion of vanillan. I don’t get along with vanillan, so learning that definitely makes the fragrance more appealing to me. I don’t have a favorite from Jovoy Paris yet as I have not tried any, but I think Pavillion Rouge would be my favorite just on the notes. I live in the US and am a Redolessence subscriber.

  • Andrei Artimon says:

I really dig the press release bottle! That red is really cool! I wonder how the liquid inside smells!
