Jeroboam GOZO Perfume Review (Vanina Muracciole) 2020 +  Journey to Malta Draw

Jeroboam GOZO review

Jeroboam GOZO collage with images from Jeroboam (Vanina Muracciole and Abdulaziz Al Ajail), and Sebastian Jara©

In 2015 at Esxence I was sniffing around and as always peeked into the Jovoy Paris booth. It was there I spied a black flacon with the name Jeroboam. Francois Henin, who is the owner of JOVOY PARFUMS RARE (be sure to read our recent We Love This Store here) and the founder of the Jovoy Paris brand indulged me and told me about the upcoming launch of 12 extraits. At that time, he mentioned the olfactive thread that would run through the new brand would be musk and that the perfumes would be composed by Vanina Muracciole. Fast Forward to 2020: For the first time, Jeroboam swaps its black and gold flacon for an orange one.

By dint of meetings and discussions generally around a real Karak,  Abdulaziz Al Ajail Abdulaziz one day told François Henin, the brand owner, about his experience of what he considers to be a glimpse of heaven on earth; the Maltese island of Gozo which has its own magical aspect. At the crossroads of worlds and times, it contains vestiges of past settlements and of successive domination by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, the British or the French. Its coastal coves are like surreal postcards. In the evening, the winds seem to bring scents from both Africa and Europe. “Jeroboam GOZO was created by Vanina Muracciole following artistic direction and friendly collaboration of Abdulaziz Al Ajail, an amazing person I had initially met at the grand opening of our first (out of 3 now) successful Jovoy franchises in Qatar. Since then we kept on meeting in Paris; London, Doha (when I could travel there). We finally could not resist anymore the temptation to collaborate and the fruit of this adventure is Jeroboam GOZO.”

Notes: Saffron, Tuberose, Bergamot, Geranium, Violet leaves, Cedar, White Musk, Patchouli, Ambroxan

Perfumer: Vanina Muracciole,  Extract – 30 ML – 100€

As Sebastian mentioned this is supposed to be floriental. I wanted to try this when it came out cause i love saffron, now i have one more reason is to test it cause i want to see what Sebastian meant by saying it remings him of an orange candy

  • Another great review from Sebastian! This bottle looks absolutely amazing! I first knew the house of Jeroboam back in 2018, when I bought several fragrances in the Jovoy boutique and they sent me a ton of samples. This brand reminds me so much of Nasomatto, both very unique, high quality and with strong juice brand. My favorites from the house are probably hauto, insulo and vespero. Hauto is definitely one of the best white floral fragrances in the market and I got one for my mom. Insulo is the best vanilla fragrance I’ve ever smelt. And vespero is like aventus with a leathery touch and much better performance. One of the houses I definitely need to dig deeper.
Thank you for the opportunity of the giveaway, and good luck to all!
    Commenting from France.

  • Been a fan of these 2 houses for a while now! My list of Jovoy fragrances itself is shameful and Jeroboam has stolen my money as well! I’m glad this is up coming release, it sounds fantastic and Sebastian’s description has always persuaded my bank account in the negative!

  • Miklos Szilagyi says:

    Hey

About Sebastian’s review, I really enjoyed that he feels that there is an orange candy like quality to the fragrance, on top of the patchouli and the ambroxan.

Michelyn’s introduction, I am a bit envious of the fact that she had the opportunity to find out about the house from the owner.

    I live in the UK.

    Thanks

I own a bottle of Insulo and it’s is my no 1 musk fragrance. Gozo sound bright and full dept from Sebastains review. If it’s anything like Insulo A Devine gourmand musk then Gozo is on my hit list must have.

  • isaaclopedia says:

I love Sabastian’s reviews, his descriptions of individual notes and the overall experience of the fragrance is are so thorough. I love saffron, geranium and white musk in fragrances. This intro, including the images, really paints an image in my mind and I feel like I can almost smell Gozo myself. I’ve never heard of Jerobaum before, but I’ve only just recently started getting into niche fragrances and this house has definitely made my list of places to check out. I live in California, USA

  • I love the idea of this tuberose leading you into a woody spicy forest. Almost like Hansel & Gretel being lead into the woods but with sweet orange treats & no witch. Loving Sebastian’s reviews one more to add to my growing list of want to sniff. There’s sadly nowhere near me that I can get my nose around it. In in Dublin.

  • Matilde Doniselli says:

Sebastian’s review of this perfume really intrigued me. In addition, I was just looking for a florential fragrance, how to resist if tuberose is present in the notes! The fragrances of this house and those of Jovoy are really interesting and of excellent quality.
    Thank you for this opportunity!✨

Alarguei os meus horizontes com o Sebastian mas não tenho nenhuma fragrância da marca, não se encontra distribuidores com facilidade, irei tentar diretamente na marca.

Oau the botlle looks amazing !!! And the way Sebastien says it s a floriental it jst makes it more and more alluring , mew york , usa.

  • Sandro Mateush says:

    Great review from Sebastian.
At firsts, I was kinda shocked when I saw a new bootle, it was unexpected – it looks amazing!
As Sebastian mentioned, there are a lot of patchouli with florals, sounds exciting for me. I like pachouli, like Jovoy – Psychedelique for example. So, pepper touch, orange candy – wow, sounds like something new form of a scent for me.
I think it’s a good release and I’m excited about it.
    I’m from Kiev, Ukraine.

  • Orange is an addictive colour used in many food packaging and advertising. Maybe this is an incentive to grab the orange bottle more than we did the black ones. Anyway I’m looking forward to test this one. So far I own Ligno, Oriento and Vespero. Gozo being kind of a floral upgrade of Ligno with strong patchouli is the base, which I adore, promises to be a winner. Ildefonso Falcones comes back to mind with his stories depicting the Spanish / Moors influences on two continents. The island of Gozo being in the middle seems to determine the mix of ingredients and this scent. Indeed very promising! On top of that I’m living in Belgium but I am of dutch nationality. This means that I really want an orange bottle next to my black ones ;). We dutch love orange!

  • Trinity33 says:

Sebastian makes me excited for the change in the bottle color from black to shiny orange! The saffron, geranium, bergamot and cedar makes me think of the Mediterranean coastline and perpetual summer. I love how Michelyn is able to get all the information from a perfumer on his upcoming releases and share them with us! I’m not familiar with any of the Jerobaum fragrances. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Very clear and in-depth when talking about the product, as always. I feel like I can smell any fragrance just by watching Sebastian’s reviews. And this particular one is right up my alley. It checks all boxes of what I usually enjoy in a perfume. Here, in Portugal, I haven’t heard of Jeroboam, but I do know about Jovoy, so I imagine the quality is just as great.

  • Thanks for this review. I love the orange bottle. I didn’t know that Gozo is a Maltese island. I haven’t tried anything from Jeroboam. Sebastian mentioned “spicy floral”, and I’m interested in the geranium and cedar notes. Thanks for another great draw, Mich USA

  • I’d be very curious to try a creation reminiscent of orange candy that features saffron and geranium, notes I am always intrigued by. I haven’t tried any of Jerobaum’s creations, but I would love to. I appreciate the opportunity to win. I am in the USA.

  • I didn’t know that the olfactive thread was musk and that that Gozo is a place in Malta. Funny that Michelyn pokes around to find things .. go girl!
Sebastian does a great review and love patchouli and saffron. USA

It sounds wonderful! Sebastian really sold it for me. I love the notes

  • kelseyjankowski says:

I’ve been binge watching Sebastian’s videos, trying to learn, and oh boy have I. Would love to try this one out!

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews, giveaways or not, and this review for Jeroboam Gozo is no exception. Michelyn’s writeup is very helpful to understand what the inspirations for Gozo is and how it came to be. I find this background and history very helpful in fully appreciating a fragrance, for it is ultimately olfactory creativity at work. I have head the name and seen the black/gold bottles, but have not had a chance to try any Jeroboam fragrances as yet. TX-USA

Another great review from Sebastian! Thanks to your great content, we are always discovering new amazing niche houses and masterpieces fragrances like this one. I mean, look at this bottle, it just looks absolutely amazing!
I first came across the house of Jeroboam back when Sebastian started to talk about this brand and including their fragrances into many of his top 20 lists. This brand reminds me so much of Nasomatto, Jovoy and many more iconic niches house, very unique brands with amazing bottle presentations, high quality ingredients and strong juice concentrations. I am very intrigued by the “orange candy” note that Sebastian is picking up on the fragrance and would be very grateful to participate in this giveaway. Exited to see how this brand grows up and creates his place into the heart and noses of niche perfumery lovers.
Thank you for the opportunity of the giveaway, and best of luck to everybody

  • Camille Sheil says:

I do not know of Jerobaum but am delighted to hear about them! I love the rich history of Gozo, the place. Understandably, the entire place would have been affected, with different food and culture even. How wonderful!

I liked Sebastians review, talking about a surrounding feeling of orange candy. And for not being a sweet fragrance, that is very interesting indeed. But, I can see what he’s talking about. And when I am able to test this fragrance, I will remember his comments and see if I can still pick it out.

Thank you so much for this opportunity! I live in New Hampshire USA!

  • Great review by Sebastian! Love his detailed description on individual notes! The bottle design also speaks to me.
For Michelyn’s introduction, thanks for telling us the background story of the perfume!
I’m not familiar with this house though.

  • Andrei-Cristian Radescu says:

I usually appreciate Sebastian’s work of pointing out frangrances that are worth it and doing a great job in presenting them. This time was no different.
As for Michelyn’s introduction, I always admired the skill of finding out less known information. When you also add some great communication skills, it’s quite an impressive work.
I’m familiar with Jeroboam, as a store in my country sells their fragrances and I’ve order some samples. They are doing a great job for a fair price.
    Greetings from Romania!

  • Natalia306 says:

Love to smell Jeroboam ” Gozo” “heaven on earth; the Maltese island of Gozo which has its own magical aspect.” Mishelyn’s introduction captured my imagination:”At the crossroads of worlds and times, it contains vestiges of past settlements and of successive domination by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, the British or the French. Its coastal coves are like surreal postcards. In the evening, the winds seem to bring scents from both Africa and Europe.” Thank you Mishelyn for beautiful description of story behind creation of Jeroboam GOZO, love it!!!
And Sebastian’s Video review give me more details about his experience with this fragrance.
Happy bright orange bottle outside- really inviting like Sebastian said in his video, and to me also very inviting inside also to try magical juice frome creator Perfumer Vanina Muracciole. Commenting from Florida

  • Sebastian’s review was so insightful and intriguing as always. The notes are quite unique and i would love to experience how the floriental character gives off an orange candy impression that he mentioned. The presentation of the bottle is amazing too.
It is also important for me to know the background story of the perfume, thanks Michelyn’s introduction for that.
I haven‘t own anything from this brand except for a few samples I cherish. Thank you for this generous draw. I live in Germany, EU.

  • I would first like to say how much I appreciate the bottle change from black to orange. Although you could never go wrong with a black bottle/gold cap, I think the orange is just inviting and such a captive colour. I also like that this bottle is small enough to fit into a bag and able to take it on the go. I love patchouli and instantly got excited when I heard this one has that. Also, the saffron reminds me of my mom cooking with saffron and the beautiful colour it brings to food. Being from the Middle East, it is such an incredible scent. Michelyn being able to meet the founder of this fragrance line sounds like such a dream! To be able to meet someone who has created something so magical (as far as fragrance), is amazing. I am from Mi, USA

  • Never been to the Maltese island of Gozo, but if this perfume is inspired by a glimpse of heaven on earth per Michelyn’s introduction then I am all for it!! Sebastian’s description of it as an ambery orange candy with floral touches also sound fantastic. Thanks for the introduction to Jerobaum. Regards from the US.

  • I love that they named a perfume after the island where I come from!
Thank you Sebastian for your great reviews:)
I am not familiar with this perfume house and am very very intrigued by the notes. I have to check it out.

  • It was another great review from Sebastian!! I never heard of this house and that perfume sounds so interesting! I also love the bottle!! Thnk you for giving me the chance to win it!! 🙂

  • Merina van de Wetering says:

Wow this Perfume sounds right up my alley. Really great review from Sebastián. I love love floriental fragrances. The notes in this perfume sounds so promising, especially the tuberose and safron in combination with the patchouli. Really love the Oriento from this house and love the colour of this bottle. I live in the Netherlands.

  • Hello,
Thx to Michelyn I know what Karak is. Must try it home – but saffron isn’t easy to obtain in Slovakia (where I live) – guess it has a specific smell – pancakes maybe?

Sebastian’s ‘orange candy smell’ description sounds inviting. I learned about the house of Jovoy and Jerobaum only from him. They must be great houses and scents producers! All the best to them and their happy users 🙂

    R

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian explained that he feels this fragrance builds upon the base of Ligno which he had already reviewed. It sounds great especially the saffron and tuberose. I also enjoyed in Michelyn’s introduction how she explained the roots of this collaboration. Also the concept being the island of Gozo and the smells from Africa and Europe that make their way there is really unique and interesting. I have not yet tried a Jeroboam fragrance but have of course heard about the brand and some fragrances from Sebastian. I am commenting from CT USA. Thanks so much for the generous draw.

  • What I enjoyed most about Sebastian’s review was his excitment and how it was evident and radiated through. It got me excited to try it.

Michelyn’s intro was a great insight too and to get to learn about the brand from the owner made me jealous.
I was lucky enough to smell the whole line while I was in Paris and walked away with 3 bottles.

I liked that Michelyn linked to several past articles that I had not read. I checked out the Scents of Dubai Nights and the “We Love this Store” article. Not being able to travel right now, it’s fun to escape by reading these articles, which always take us to other places and cultures. I also liked Sebastian’s review and how he got the impression of a hard orange candy. Just watching it gave me that impression as well. I’m only vaguely familiar with the brand, and it’s just from this blog and Sebastian’s videos. I’m in IL, USA for the giveaway.

  • The way Sebastian describes the fragrances he reviews is inspiring, and it shows how passionate he is about them. I really like his “floriental” description of this perfume. Michelyn’s time travel back to 2015 was a great insight into the background of Jeroboam.
I enjoy very much Vespero from them. I live in Italy.

Again very insightful review from Sebastian. Love the new bottle color. A spicy floral scent sounds killer. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the giveaway. Love from Austria!

  • I am a man and I love everything that has tuberose in it, so count me in for this one. Also, like Sebastian says, the bottle with its’ shiny orange colour has something happy about it, magnetic. I bet it will be the most eye catching bottle in any collection. I am from Europe. Thanks!

  • Omar Tekari says:

Seeem very interesting can’t watt to semell it i love floriental fragrances !!

  • Another great review, thanks for the article too.
Floral and oriental, musk and patchouli, seems like a beautiful fragrance ! Another on the Jovoy fragrances must try list.
    Lyon, France

  • As usual, Sebastian’s review is very interesting and particularly this perfume is appealing as a “floriental”. I love the story (relation to Malta), I love the colour and I love the notes (saffron, tuberose…) and I would love to be able to try it. Michelyn’s introduction is also useful for its insight on the perfumer. I am not very familiar with the brand, unfortunately it is not available to test where I live.
    I comment from Romania, EU.

  • Aftekhar Khan says:

Great review by Sebastian, yet to try anything for the house. The combination of notes makes this one which I would love to try. The ‘orange candy’ vibe which Sebastian nentioned sounds interesting and also the inspiration of the fragrance also is interesting. Would love to enter the giveaway, I’m from the UK, London.

  • I have been on Malta, but I haven’t visited Gozo, what a shame. I will have to correct it next time. Fascinating idea with that smells from Europe and Africa. Whole Malta is covered by dust from Sahara. Beautiful colour of a bottle. I live in EU

  • Great review from Sebastian. What I like from both Sebastian’s and Michelyn’s introduction is that they both say that the bottle is so eye-catching to them. It draws your attention and you want to smell and feel it. And possibly even taste it haha!

This sounds like a wonderful fragrance and I would love to try it.
I am not familiar with the fragrances of Jeroboam yet.

    I live in the UK.

  • Great review form Sebastian, as usual. Thanks to his channel I discovered a lot of amazing fragrances.
I envy of Michelyn because I really love hear a nose speak about his creation. Unfortunately I never smell Jerobaum perfumes but I can’t wait to try them.

  • Yinka Oni says:

Great review from Sebastian! First impression was it was a feminine perfume due to the orange bottle but seems more unisex from the breakdown of the notes. Interested to see how the patouli works its way through the floral and spice notes.
Like Sebastian, i really enjoyed Oriento and im sure Gozo would bot disappoint!

  • Sebastian does a great job of describing the development of this fragrance and what the main players are; while the introduction by Michelyn gives an interesting insight into the history of Malta and its many influences. I am not familiar with Jerobaum but Gozo would be a great way to start. I live in the UK.

  • Bredell Bell says:

I subscribed to Sebastian’s channel earlier this year. I’m from Georgia (USA), and I’m new to the world of fragrance. I just love Sebastian’s reviews and his knowledge. I’m learning so from him. His review of this florential fragrance and the orange bottle got me!

  • Love how Sebastian offers a very experiential almost tactile rendition of scents. I would love a bottle of this beauty. The color, the candy like references, the tuberose note and spices in a unique melange. I have tried Insulo and loved it. Sadly I do not own it yet but it is on my list! I appreciate Michely’n unique story taking us back in time featuring her unique relationship to the house.

  • Jeroboam is great. From Michelyn I didn’t know it was owned by Jovoy Paris or that the common ingredient is musk. Love the bottle and that there’s Tuberose, Patchuli and saffron
Would like to get me nose on this when it comes to the USA. Hope soon

  • Notes: Saffron, Tuberose, Bergamot, Geranium, Violet leaves, Cedar, White Musk, Patchouli, Ambroxan. I am intrigued by the notes especially patchouli being my favourite note. I enjoyed Sebastian’s review especially the the orange candy vibe. This is a house that I am not familiar with but I have to check it out. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • I am happy for Michelle to have met the owner in their flagship store in Paris. Thrilled to know the upcoming launch of 12 extraits. Jerobaum Gozo has such a fancy bottle. Sebastian’s review that it smells like orange candy is intriguing. Love spicy floral. IL, USA

  • Sounds like a complex non-linear offering. After hearing the review I want to smell this one just to smell it. US

  • Haha I like “floriental.” It certainly is intriguing, sweet and almost candy like throughout. Maybe that’s the magic of Gozo in the Maltese islands like Michelyn quotes! I am not familiar with Jerobaum at all. USA

  • What an enticing review! I love the way Sebastian describes it. The musky, woody patchouli base sounds so beautiful. And those touches of tuberose really adds such a great layer to it. I’ve never heard of this perfume house. I’d be thrilled to try this!
I live in the US (PA)

  • Great review as always from Sebastian. I’ve never had the chance to smell a lot of fragrances from this house but GOZO sounds really good, at least from the notes list. I would love to try it, thanks for the chance, EU here.

  • I have followed Sebastian for a while and I love the way he can describe a fragrance. I can almost smell it while listening. When he mentioned an ambery quality, I was reminded of Jovoy Ambre Premie, my favorite from the house. I haven’t tried anything from Jeroboam yet, so this is my chance. I’m very curious about the inspiration from the island Gozo that Michelyn wrote about. Thank you for this kind giveaway. Greetings from Denmark.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s description of Gozo as being on the crosssroads of time, and a “heaven on earth”, with the scents from Africa and Europe mingling together in a very beautiful island. Of course, Sebastial always brings perfumes to life with his short but to the point video reviews. A little surprised oud is not one of the notes, but being a spicy, floral, oriental, I bet Gozo is a heavenly perfume reflecting the heaven that Gozo is. I haven’t tried Jerobaum perfumes, yet. Thanks Michelyn and Sebastian for the wonderful reviews and the drawing. Writing from USA.

  • GOZO is a floriental with interesting notes like saffron and white musk. It seems better suited to winter and fall season. US

  • Here in California,

I agree with Sebastian the orange bottle is happy. It make sense to name the fragrance Gozo which is Spanish for joy. I am a fan of Hauto so I am interested how the base plays out in Gozo as Michelyn describes. Thank you for the generous draw.

I’ve known the house already since last year but never got the chance to smell their fragrances. Sebastian as always does a really great job at explaining what the scent is like. Not only the smell but also the feeling of it. I love that about his reviews, and this one in particular seems to be really really nice. I myself am an oriental smell lover. Also saffron and ambroxan are the perfect match. I would so appreciate to get the chance of winning. Btw gorgeous gorgeous bottle! I live in Germany.

  • Love these houses and would love to try this beautiful sounding perfume! Great review, living in the EU

  • Was intrigued by the combination of tuberose and patchouli as the predominant notes, as described by Sebastian. Can’t find that combination of notes too often. Additionally, neither of the two makes me think particularly of the orange colour. So this fragrance sounds like one of many hidden facets. Michelyn’s introduction about her 2015 Jovoy experience was nice to read about. I am in the EU and have to admit I have never heard about Jerobaum before.

This sounds like such an inviting fragrance. Tuberose and saffron and geranium are such wonderful notes, as long as the woody cedar. I was happy to learn about the island of Gozo. Orange candy is delicious! I haven’t tried anything from Jerobaum.

  • I’m definitely in the middle of a synchronicity! Right now I’m wearing Liquid Sun, a perfume that I bought due another Sebastian’s review and I am the one who won Ligno at your draw !
I enjoyed that Sebastian feels this composition builds upon the base of Ligno. It sounds great the floral adagio, especially the saffron and tuberose. I definitely love the color of the bottle: such a good vibe!
I also enjoyed the Michelyn’s introduction, how she explained the concept of this perfume being the island of Gozo.
Thank you for another great opportunity to win a Jerobaum.
    Greetings from Romania!

  • The fragrance sounds wonderful and it’s always nice to get Sebastian’s take on something. It’s funny how the presentation can shape our perception of scent–that bottle does look like a shiny hard candy! I’m in the US, thanks for the review!

  • Another great review from Sebastian
Recently I love patchouli more and more. Do this perfumes with patchouli and woody-ambery notes sounds beautiful.
My favorites from the house is Vespero- more woody-earthy version of Aventus.

Orange candy….sounds lovely. I like the bright cheery bottle. I’ve smelled some from this line, but none have made it to my collection…yet. I’d love to try this. Great review as always Sebastian. USA.

  • Another great review by Sebastian. I love how detail is he about the notes and the whole impression of the fragrance. By his descriptions I can imagine how this fragrance smells like! (also lovely colored bottle!)
Whole Jeroboam line is awesome. I tried them all at Harrods last summer and loved almost all of them, but for me Origino standed out the most. I just love how classy and easy to wear is it.

  • I loved Sebastian talking about how he discovered the brand and his history with the brand. And the fragrance sounds very interesting, a spicy floriental. And as always it is very interesting to read about the background of the frangrances or how they have been influenced to come to life. I am not yet familiar with Jeroboam.

    I live in the EU.

  • I haven’t tried this fragrance or any of them by this house. But right when you said it had notes of patchouli, I fell in love. It is one of my favorite scents.

  • Thanks for “candy” description!
Really, beautiful candy orange colour. If this new perfume similar to Ligno, I am sure I will love Gozo too. I love patchouli ♥️.
From Jeroboam house I like Insulo – very beautiful vanilla perfume.

  • Sebastian’s review made very curious about Jerobaum brand. All their fragrancesbare definitely on my to try list. As for Gozo, I like that it’s orange and the description of Sebastian and the ingrediënts makes this sound wonderful. I’ve had a short visit to Gozo and I very much enjoyed it. Visiting Gozo again is also on my to do list. I live in EU. Thank you Jovoy and Cafleurebon for this wonderful draw.

Thanks for the review and introduction. I didn‘t know that all bottles before were black. I love in the review the connex of floral notes and oriental, calling it a floriental. I am a big tuberose lover and I would like to try this new scent. Thanks for the draw as well, i live in the EU.

  • Sunny Chaudhary says:

Love how Sebastian offers a very experiential almost tactile rendition of scents.

Congrats on the review, Sebastian! I am very intrigued to test this fragrance since i very much enjoy their creations. Thank you for the opportunity!

PS: you misspelled the producer’s name in the title, it’s Jeroboam, not Jerobaum.

Another wonderful review from Sebastian. Always clear and very helpful. Michelyn’s introduction was so beautifully descriptive. I’m not familiar with anything from Jeroboam, but this sounds like something I would really enjoy. Thank you for the wonderful review and intro, and for the generous draw. I’m in the USA

  • Jake Dauod says:

In Sebastian’s video, I really liked how he pointed out that the change of bottle color piqued his interest too. I think the bottle is a good representation of the notes and it reminds me of the image of saffron. For Michelyn’s review, I love the part of thinking of the island of Gozo and associating it with heaven on Earth. I love imagery and I think it is truly remarkable if a fragrance can transport the mind to a vivid image of a specific location. Thank you for this amazing draw! Kind regards from Illinois, USA.

  • Yes, the color of the bottle is like a hard candy as described by Sebastian. This one is really a floriental fragrance and I love the notes. Michelyn’s introduction makes me want to visit the Maltese island of Gozo. It sounds magical.
    I’m not familiar with Jerobaum.
    I live in USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

I really Sebastian’s review and Michelyn’s Intro. Jeroboam a sister house of Jovoy I have heard has some beautiful fragrances, but I haven’t tried any yet. Gozo sounds like a beautiful floroental with a strong patchouli base. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the great review Sebastian. I’m a big fan of tuberose and the bottle (and it’s color, as Sebastian mentions) is pretty eye catching.

Michelyn’s Introduction hits the nail on the head with this line – “Niche is an overused word when describing “non commercial” fragrance.” I enjoyed reading about all those fragrances from back in 2015.

I haven’t smelt anything from this house before.

  • I love Mediterranean islands, so I would love to smell Jeroboam’s take on the sland of G.ozo. I love Sebastian’s comparison od orange of the bottle to orange feeling of the smell.

I would like to try this fruit of collaboration between Abdulaziz Al Ajail and and Vanina Muracciole . Malta I have visited, but the main island, not Gozo .
Sebastian review of Gozo reminded me of me eating Sour Cream Cake, with saffron orange glaze , with some tuberose flowers on the table.
I am familiar with Jeroboam, and to me Insulo is the best one. Quality vanilla fragrance.
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign.

  • I like the idea of the island having so many influences having been invaded many times. I would think it would have an eclectic vibe. As for the orange, instead of bright and happy I’m more inclined to think of a sweltering haze or a deep sunset…a contemplative vibe. Hah, or better yet “caution.” Anyway, I haven’t tried any Jeroboam, but I do like and own some Jovoy. I also didn’t realize that the common thread is musk. And as I’m a fan of tuberose, I’d be glad to own a bottle of Gozo as well.

  • I really enjoyed Sebastian’s review of Gozo! Patchouli, Ambroxan, and Orange candy? This sounds amazing and enchanting. I also enjoyed Michelyn’s narative about the Jovoy and her enchanting words about the smells and the Island Gozo. I have sampled Insulo, another beautiful fragrance. Thank you for the chance. USA

  • This Floriental Spicy sounds nice and unique. When I see the bottle it gives off an energetic vibe. Would love to try this and others from Jeroboam. Like the idea behind the fragrance as well. Thanks, Ca

  • Well, as soon as history is mentioned, line all those ancient cultures in the itroducrion, i am interestef. And when i heard it contains geranium, which i really like, i was even more interested 😉

  • Bright and happy is how I feel today, first day of work for a long time 🙂
So the wind brings smells from both Africa and Europe, that’s interesting.
What I’m enjoying the most in Gozo is the base , patchouli and ambroxan mix.
I’m not familiar with Jeroboam, but I know Jovoy.
    Have a nice week everyone.

  • Ever since I saw this orange splash of color in Jeroboam’s lineup I was instantly intrigued. Sebastian’s review was quite detailed regarding Gozo’s development and the interplay between the various notes. I liked his enthusiasm over the candy-like orange hue of Gozo’s bottle. Michelyn’s introduction was well appreciated, as it shed more light on what led to the creation of this fragrance. It’s so amazing how all these cultural crossroads the world over are such great muses and inspirations for perfumery. I’ve only experience Jeroboam in passing at Fumerie Parfumerie in Portland, Oregon, but was quite impressed with the quality of their fragrances. Vespero and Oriento are ones that stood out. Thanks so much to Francois Henin for the chance to try this beauty! I’m in Oregon, USA.

Sampled a few Jovoy fragrances, and I think Les Jeux sont Faits was the best of the bunch , I’ll most likely get it for the autumn. Jeroboam I know very little about, other than Sebastian videos.
Never been to Malta before, Gozo I would like to visit as tourist , full of historical seens and not overly crowded.
The fragrance is unusual, tuberose , patchouli and bergamot in a special bottle.

I love Sebastian’s reviews. I’ve never tried any of Jeroboam‘s fragrances. This sounds amazing with the orange candy and patchouli. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • That was a very beautiful description of the island of Gozo. Looks like I will have to add another destination on my list of places to visit after COVID-19 is out of the picture. I thought it was funny how I was just thinking “man that orange that they use on the bottle is making me hungry” and at that point Sebastian said that he almost wanted to put it is his mouth. Aside from that this fragrance sound fantastic. I love patchouli and saffron.

  • I didn’t know previously that musk would be the common theme for this line, but I’d love to visit Jovoy in person at sometime! I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews and this one was no exception. It’s interesting that Sebastian picked out a orange candy sweetness underlying the fragrance. It sounds so good with the tuberose and saffron. I’ve never tried anything from this house before. I live in the USA, thanks for the giveaway!

The parent company I know, Psychedelique is beyond gorgeous, one of the best patchouli scents ever , but Jeroboam is new to me. Orange candy and patchouli I would like to experience.
    Thanks a lot USA

  • Everybody knows Jovoy if you’re a fragrance enthusiast, but Jeroboam I think not many know about. Gozo the island I just heard of. The fragrances is intriguing because it draws inspiration from a special place, both historically and geographically. The spicy floriental with hints of sweetness I’ll be really happy to win.
    Thank you for the draw

I made this statement a couple of times already, but there’s a reason Jovoy to be considered the best boutique in the world. I like some of US boutiques, but they need to do a lot of improvements to catch up with Jovoy. Of course there’s successful franchises worldwide.
Excuse my ignorance, but I thought Malta is one big island only, not counting miner once. Nice story behind Gozo , well done, orange candy in it , spicy. Sounds good and it’s Extrait de parfum .
    Thank you Sebastian and Cafleurebon
    For now VA only

Malta is really unique place for a different reasons. Location, culture, language an odd mix of Arabic, Italian and French.
I’m familiar with all Jeroboam fragrance, excluding the two 2020 releases Gozo and Unue . Gozo picks parts of different countries and traditions, just like Malta did. Best of all worlds.
To me the best Jeroboam fragrances are the famous Insulo and Oriento .

  • Patchouli lover also. I have a decant of ” Boha ” from the brand and I love it. I would be grateful if you would include me in your giveaway. I am from Serbia and there is no possibility to buy their products here /Jovoy & Jeroboam/. It exists in Croatia, but the procurement is too complicated.
