When ÇaFleureBon Editor-in-Chief Michelyn Camen awarded renowned master perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer’s My Ju-Ju for Indult Paris placement among her best fragrant releases for 2021, I had not yet had the opportunity to experience it. I was most gratified when Indult Paris kindly sent a sampler of their scents recently; I have been acquainted with the line since their initial releases in 2006 and 2008, and looked forward to My Ju-Ju.

My emotions prior to sampling were complex: I loved the house and possess deep admiration for Mme. Feisthauer’s formidable talent. The chosen name struck me as awkward along with the possible prospect of a youth-driven fragrance. I was grateful to be disavowed of my biases when I finally experienced Indult Paris My Ju-Ju. Now, more than ever, there is a definite movement toward attempting to create fragrances which feel relevant to current consumers – many of whom are young, and some of whom are fortunate enough to afford luxury perfumes. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Indult; it had been 13 years since their last release, and their perfumer had worked for three years on their newest creation and I was not disappointed.

Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is thusly named as a playful double-entendre: it alludes to the magical powers of an amulet or talisman as well as the nickname of the brand owner’s child, for whom a fitting scent was to be composed. That’s a delightful concept in itself. What renders it uniquely beautiful is the sophistication of this floral gourmand, expertly achieved by Mme. Feisthauer’s sleight of hand. The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber. The perfume opens with a tangy piquancy, a flourish of juicy bergamot and tangerine accompanied by pink pepper. Its heart is radiant: non-indolic jasmine and lily-of-the-valley are amplified and diffused by Hedione®, one of Firmenich’s much-loved and versatile materials. Cardamom’s spice finds a caramelic co-conspirator in velvety tonka: rich, balsamic, and headily sweet. It feels intuitive that coffee, vanilla, amber and fluffy musks provide a perfect complement for this airy, balmy scent with its long-lasting feline delicacy. An aspect which I find particularly appealing is the tender, insightful employment of cedar and vetiver; they never shout to garner your attention – they are insinuated seamlessly in this elegant, wearable confection whose textile correlate might be a paper-thin cashmere shawl, spiderweb fine and cosseting, painted in pastel tints.

Notes: bergamot, tangerine, baies roses (pink pepper), lily of the valley, jasmine, cardamom oil, Hedione® (Firmenich), tonka bean absolute, vanilla, cedarwood, vetiver, coffee extract, amber, musks

Samples thoughtfully provided by Indult Paris – many thanks! My nose is my own…

Hearing this fragrance was made by a master perfumer makes me very excited. I love light airy floral scents and this is right up my alley. Thank you for the opportunity. I live in Romania, EU.

  • My Ju-Ju sounds very on board the whipped, musky gourmand trend, but of course more sophisticated than what’s at my local mall. Love the thin cashmere shawl reference, really helps me imagine the scent. Totally sounds up my alley. I am from USA

  • Glad to see Nathalie Feisthauer remains busy. It seems Indult has recognized its strong point, following the success of Tihota, and continues to explore the gourmand category as Indult Paris My Ju-Ju may remind one of meringue’s aspects. I am in US.

  • I adore Tihota so I was thrilled to hear Indult had a new fragrance. I love how Ida described it as a wearable confection, paper thin cashmere shawl, spiderweb fine, and pastel. To me that indicates a soft sweet beautiful fragrance..exactly how I like to smell! I have sampled it and it is just that! I would be thrilled to win a bottle! I am in New York with my fingers crossed!

  • I’m very drawn to the hint of coffee. I have experience with Indult Tihota, one of the finest vanillas ever, so I have no doubt My Ju-Ju will be a wonderful gourmand with a unique take. Thank you for the review and draw.

  • I have never tried any of Indult fragrances, but they are on my list for sure, since so many people have nothing but good things to say about them. Naturally I god interested in My Ju-Ju, particularly because this brand hadn’t released anything new for quite some time. Ida’s review and impressions sound really interesting. My Ju-Ju seems very delicate and tender. I like the combination of citruses and pink pepper with jasmine and woody notes. I particularly like how Ida describes the base, with cedar and vetiver that they never shout but seem like a fine cashmere shawl. This really makes me very interested in sampling this fragrance. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Such a nice review by Ida. It is fantastic that it took 3 years to develop this fragrance; I guess they didn´t want to deliver another fragrance to the market that passes by. The perfume just bought me when I read that it is a floral gourmand. It mixes two of the things I love smelling in fragrances. My Ju-ju is surely a true gem.
    I live in the U.S.

  • Being a parent myself, the first thing that I found lovely about this fragrance was that it was named after Mme. Feisthauer’s child. I just love that. As a parent, everything that we do is for the betterment of our babies. Creating something in honor of them is a fantastic expression of that love and also a fun keepsake for them later on in life. As far as My Ju-Ju itself, the fragrance sounds delectable. Gourmand-leaning fragrances are ones that I have been exploring more lately and anything with a meringue accord is an automatic interest for me. Every year for my birthday I forego the traditional cake route and opt for a lemon meringue made by my mother-in-law and there is ALWAYS a pot of coffee brewing in her home so this scent profile is right up my alley. I would love the opportunity to find out how incredible it is! Thanks, as always, for the opportunity and cheers from Illinois!

  • What a fun and refreshing sounding scent that is still youthful and gourmand all at once. Sounds mouthwatering. I would love to get myself a bottle. In maryland.

  • Always enjoy Ida’s reviews!!!
I would like to get this beauty, becaouse I love cofee notes and as in this case with cloud of musks and wispy amber- it will be just amazing.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with Indult.

  • I have been hearing about this new fragrance and it sounds very delicious. I like the pictures of the fluffy sweets and the joyful perfumer. Thank you, in TX.

  • The name appeals to me. For I once had a Pomeranian named Ginger and nicknamed Ju-Ju. She was a wonderful companion as I bet this fragrance would be. I just had to enter to have a chance to find out if so. I live in the USA.

  • When Nathalie works her magic on a scent the results can be narcotic and mesmeric. What a great review from Ida. Would love to sample this fabulous scent.

  • Bryant Worley says:

I think Ida did a very good job of breaking this fragrance down, and making it sound luscious. She pointed out how seamlessly the notes blend together, even stating that the strong base would not take over the fragrance (“An aspect which I find particularly appealing is the tender, insightful employment of cedar and vetiver; they never shout to garner your attention – they are insinuated seamlessly in this elegant, wearable confection whose textile correlate might be a paper-thin cashmere shawl, spiderweb fine and cosseting, painted in pastel tints”). Sounds like this is going to be an excellent one to wear.

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • I enjoyed Ida’s description of the new My Ju-Ju. A floral confection, balmy scent, and long lasting feline delicacy. Sounds extremely unusual and that is what you would expect from Indult. I do love Tihota and would love to try this gourmand. California

  • I love the sound of this one! It sounds indulgent but still fun and carefree. I’m always tempted by perfumes with the notes of pink pepper, cardamom, and coffee. This sounds like those notes are used with restraint to give the airy florals and citrus scent some depth. It seems different from anything I’ve tried and yet something I would absolutely love! I am located in the USA.

  • I thought the name was interesting and happy to see it was Nathalie Feisthauer’s creation. It is great to see young people interested in fragrance but I am sometimes astounded by some of the vast luxury collections amassed. Ida, do you have any insight into what is driving this? Back to this wonderfully woven confection – a paper-thin shawl sounds just perfect for spring in NC USA.

  • Ida!!! ❤️❤️❤️ What an Amazing review!!! Reading your review makes me so excited to try this scent! Indult is wonderful and I’d love to be the lucky winner. ❤️ The hint of coffee with the other gourmand notes has me super intrigued. Can’t wait to experience this scent! USA

  • Ida does a lovely job describing such wonderful notes for My Ju-Ju. It’s so many fragrances in one. Elegant sophisticated Florals gourmand. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • I just bought a sample of Manukara, beautiful, but sweet and it was not for me. I wish I had ordered this instead. Floral gourmand, interesting. I’m trying to get away from the straight gourmand which had my attention when I first experienced niche perfume. Love Olya Bar’s photo. USA.

  • Floral gourmands are one of my favorite categories of fragrance, so after reading Ida’s review of My Ju-Ju it sounds like a must-try for me. I agree with Ida that it’s delightful that the name of the fragrance is also the nickname of the owner’s child; it must be quite a personal fragrance for them. The notes sound absolutely stunning and Ida’s description of My Ju-Ju possessing “long-lasting feline delicacy” is perfect. Vanilla, white florals, and coffee sound like a dream. I would love to own a bottle of My Ju-Ju! Thank you, Ida, for the review, and thanks to Indult Paris for the giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • My Ju-Ju sounds quite intriguing to me. I like how Ida shared how the scent got its name which is nice. The part that really grabbed my attention was how Ida described My Ju-Ju by writing, “The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber.” It really does sound like a delicious floral gourmand perfume and I do enjoy sweet fragrances. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • What appeals to me about Ida’s review is her description of My Juju’s scent notes and the effect they create: my favorite was her reference to cardamon and tonka being caramelic co-conspirators.
    I am in Oregon USA.

  • Who could resist to “magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber”? Delicious review! Thank you Ida!

  • I dont think I have tried any fragrance from the perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer but this review makes her work more appeal. Ida’s review of My juju sounds very mysterious/ mystical and yet approachable. I would love to try this fragrance.

  • Nikolina_84 says:

What appeals to me is that it seems like these notes, that can by themselves be very powerful, combine together into a tender rhapsody instead of fighting amongst each other for your attention. Hello from Croatia. ❤️

  • This sounds incredible! It is so rewarding when a fragrance surprises us 🙂 thank you for the review- I loved reading about a fragrance that was literally years in the making. Writing from the EU.

  • This sounds delicious! Vanilla, tonka beans, coffee extract! I am quite curious about it. Thanks for the review and the draw. In the EU.

  • This should be delicious and airy at the same time! I haven’t had the chance to try any of the Indult scents, but this would be a fantastic first one! Thank you!
    I live in Romania, EU.

  • This line made Indult appealing, “The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber”. US

  • Constancesuze says:

With Ida, the name of this fragrance rubs me the wrong way- even if I do find the concept very cute. I know it’s become a pretty common shorthand to compare a fragrance to cashmere, but it will never stop appealing to me 😉
Please enter me, I’m in the US

  • I would be so in love with this last creation of the master Mrs. Feisthauer, one of my fav nose and this creation is stunning, i think it would be quite unique thanks to the hedione but totally wearble as all the Indult line is. The projection and sillage seems outstanding. I think this would be the best release of the year so far. I would love to be able to own a bottle. Greetings from Milan, Italy

  • Coffee, vanilla, amber sounds wonderful on this cold morning. I still don’t love the name, but I know Indult to be a good house! Thank you for the review, Ida! I’m in USA.

  • Another beautiful review by Ida with plenty of descriptive details regarding this new fragrance by Indult Paris. I have to say that I feel very intrigued by this fragrance, because although I don’t know much about this house, Indult Tihota is one of my comfort, every day fragrance, one that I love very much. I’m very excited for the opportunity to participate in this draw. Commenting from Orlando, Fl. USA

  • The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber.
This sounds really good! Can’t wait to try it!
    Thank you!

  • Sorry. Forgot to mention that I am in Europe if that matters as I would not leave a commentary if I were not qualified for the prize.
    Thanks again.

  • Nice review Ida! it is funny but in spanish we use the word yu-yu that means a very particular kind of fear: one that is produced by something paranormal or esoteric. So the magic appears with fear. Not in this beautiful floral gourmand and close to the skin scent by Mme. Feisthauer (who seems to be quite busy: A-chromiq and Bourdin last year, among others) who delivers a pure, soft , sensual and airy vanilla. The coffee and the cardamom brings to the meringue an unexpected spike! I live in Spain, EU.

  • Just lovely. Everything about this is interesting. Most synchronistic for me is the meringue. I give myself a project every year, and this year is all about ways to cook eggs. I am in the US.

  • Indult Paris My Ju-Ju seems to be cheerful, fresh perfume. I was curious about the childish sounding name too, as Ida did, but Ida clarified how/why the perfumer named it so. I like the lovely notes in Indult Paris My Ju-Ju and I would love to try this (I liked Ida’s description of this gourmand perfume – “The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber”). Thanks for the review and draw. Writing from the USA.

  • wandering_nose says:

Another masterful review from Ida! I love the palpability of the picture painted – amazing youthful (in the best way possible) gourmand garnered with white florals that draw the wearer in along with the tasty spices and alluring coffee and woods, all wrapped in a fluffy veil of musk. What’s there not to love? I would be delighted to try. Thank you from the Republic of Ireland, EU

  • Citruses, cardamom, coffee, amulets , meringue ? Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is so bright and vibrant, yet slightly enigmatic and visionary. Spring is coming soon…at least I hope so , and My Ju-Ju sounds perfect for the upcoming season.
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • I don’t know about other readers, but I am interested in perfume because wearing it can make me feel well groomed, put together and feminine whereas most of the time I feel and probably look like a homeless raccoon. My Ju Ju sounds lovely and a people pleaser and a safe bet and I’m so on board with that. Mrs. Feisthauer sure knows how to concoct an ultra feminine scent. I loved the cashmere shawl analogy and will definitely seek out a sample of the perfume, it sounds dreamy. Greetings from Greece!

  • whimsical diva says:

Absolutely loved the description of this – I’m a sucker for citrusy gourmand scents, and coffee, vanilla and amber must be a very fascinating combination. I love Tihota, even if I find it a tad linear, so would be very interested in trying this. I live in California and would love to be entered in the draw.

  • Love Mme. Feisthauer’s creations!
And this one sounds another one masterpiece.
Floral heart with warm coffee and fluffy musc would be beautiful combination.

  • Intresting review!
Cloud of white florals which is very popular in this thay in perfumery with coffee and warm amber-musc combination in base promise as warm sensuality.
Unfortunately I haven’t tried any from this brand, but hope to test all perfumes sooner.

  • Indult Paris My Ju-Ju sounds like a sweet treat for Valentine’s Day. The citrus, spice, coffee and meringue complement the white florals and musks. I enjoy Hedione and would love to smell how it’s incorporated here. I’m in MD, USA.

  • What i find intriguing in Ida Meister take on Indult Paris My Ju-Ju , is meringue comparison. I’m a Pastry Chef, and in culinary world there are vast amount of recipes, even in traditional French pastry schools there’s no consensus , should you use only raw egg whites and sugar, or not… Some use cream of tartar , some do not.
In Italy ( warm to hot sugar syrup, added to the already whipped egg whites) , Switzerland (eggs and sugar are cooked before the whipping ) the consistency, and the taste is also different. Let’s not talk about the Polish and Portuguese ways of making meringue..
After reading Ida Meister take on Indult Paris My Ju-Ju , i imagined my own Bakery
You can smell meringues , and Lemon Meringue Pie e, and also cardamom, caramel , coffee, vanilla every single day
I’d love to win Paris My Ju-Ju
Appreciate the review, and the giveaway campaign

  • She got me with the line ”… coffee, vanilla, amber and fluffy musks provide a perfect complement for this airy, balmy scent with its long-lasting feline delicacy. ” I mean, how can you resist that!?
    I’m from EU. ❤️

  • Lovely photos! I think they fully express the nature of this fragrance. I would love to try it as it seems delicious.
Commenting from Europe. Thank you very much for this wonderful chance@

  • I always love finding out about new brands on Cafleurebon! This house sounds great, and My Ju-ju sounds right up my alley and Natalie Feisthauer as a perfumer is a guarantee of it’s quality! Great review from Ida, as always!

    I live in Croatia, EU

  • I read the wonderful description of the perfume and the imagination takes me to a sunny meadow while I savor small and delicious pastries.
I don’t know this brand but it is worth trying.
    Linda (EU)

  • Thank you Ida far a review. If the perfumer worked for 3 years on this scent it has to be a masterpiece. The way Ida describe the notes makes me wanna have a desert with coffee right now. I’d really like to try it. Thank you for the giveaway. I live in Poland. EU.

  • IvanVelikov says:

I’m curious about the “balmy scent with its long-lasting feline delicacy” fragrance called My Ju-Ju . Indult Paris i have no experience with, in My Ju-Ju i see classical citrus floral, but modernized with gourmand touches.
Both the review, and Ny Ju-Ju were quite attractive, thank you.

  • Ida, what a descriptive review! This sounds like something that everyone needs in the winter to feel nice and cozy. Coffee, cardamom and vanilla? Yes, please! (I live in the US.)

  • I’ve never tried any of their fragrance releases, but I’ve heard good things about some of their past releases. I’m interested to try this fragrance for multiple reasons, e.g. its citrus aspects, its floral aspects, the use of coffee, they’re known to use high-quality vanilla, it took three years to make this fragrance and Ida wasn’t disappointed, and also because I’ve never tried anything which was made by perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer. I live in the U.S.A. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  • Oh, this sounds so interesting! I loooove floral gourmand fragrances and Ida makes this sound damn appealing! I just have to smell it!!
I’m from Croatia, EU, @dazi83 on IG.

  • What an interesting blend of notes! From florals to slightly gourmand. Wearing this scent sounds like it is a journey. And I really loved the imagery when she said “The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber. ” It sounds ethereal.
I’ve never tried anything from Indult Paris but you have now put this fragrance house on my radar!
    I live in the US.

  • Claumarchini says:

I am not familiar with Indult so it would be amazing to start with My Ju-Ju. I have Putain des palaces and murmure des dieux by Mrs Feisthauer and I find her so talented… I am not so much into gourmand fragrances, they need to have a certain je-ne-sais-quoi for me to grow fond and My Ju-Ju with the cardamom and pink pepper and coffee intrigues me very much. Keeping my fingers crossed, greetings from Italy!!

  • Always a sucker for coffee notes in fragrance, I would want to try this one no matter what. But Ida’s description of an almost impossible delicacy of confectionery makes this sound irresistible. I live in the US. Thanks for the review and draw!

  • Michael Prince says:

I loved Ida’s review of My Ju-Ju because of how Ida perfectly paints a picture of this fragrance and depicts it’s beautiful nature. A floral, citrusy, musky fragrance with resinous, balsamy, coffee, and spicy undertones make this fragrance feel very appealing. I haven’t tried anything from this brand and would love the opportunity to win this beautiful fragrance. I am from Ohio, USA.

  • My Ju Ju sounds like a such fun, youthful perfume. I understand Ida’s initial reserve and how it was dissipated by the airy meringuy perfume.
    I’m in EU

  • Thanks for another great review, Ida! This part of your description is what I liked best – ‘The effect of Indult Paris My Ju-Ju is that of a magnificent meringue wreathed in a white floral cloud spiked with coffee, pillowy with weightless musks and wispy amber.’ I hope I win this magnificent scent! Thanks for the draw. – CA, USA

  • Thank you Ida for another wonderful fragrance note breakdown. My Ju-Ju seems to have a bunch of my favorite notes expertly and delicately blended and would thus be a winner for me. I’ve really enjoyed Indult Tihota and would love to try My Ju-Ju. I’m in USA

  • Wearing Tihota for years here! I enjoy Vanilla perfumes and I like that my ju ju has lily of the valley and coffee
    Beautiful photos and great review

  • I adore Indult’s fragrances and am so excited about this new release. It was nice to learn that the name of the fragrance is also a reference to the brand owner’s child. This sounds delicious, Ida! Thank you for the review. I’m in the US and thank you for the draw opportunity!

  • My Ju-Ju is totally worth sampling. All the citruses, musks, cardamom and overall freshness are the things that makes the fragrance so uplifting .A touch of coffee and woods in the drydown i believe will keep My Ju-Ju from becoming too juvenile , or sugary.

  • Ida Meister brought me back, straight to my days being a kid. I remember how we used to eat grandma’s home made meringues, drink lemonade and run , and play barefooted in our backyard garden, for hours and hours. The meringues, the greenness are the the citruses, I feel like I’m a kid again, for a few minutes at least.
I’ll be more than happy to win Indult Paris My Ju-Ju
    Thanks for the draw

  • Lovely review Ida! What appeals to me about Ida’s review of My Ju-Ju is her description of it as a floral gourmand, like a “magnificent meringue” surrounded by a white floral cloud and spiked with coffee and spices. I generally don’t lean towards gourmands but I love big floral bombs and spices, so a floral gourmand is probably going to be the best kind of gourmand for me. The unexpected juxtaposition of these two fragrance categories blended seamlessly is very appealing to me, and I am definitely putting this on my to-try list! I live in the US.

  • The reason why Indult waited for so long to release a new fragrance , is in my opinion because they had to find someone that could step into the great Francis Kurkdjian shoes, and to be fair that’s something very few perfumers could do.
Nathalie Feisthauer did a good job with My Ju-Ju, laid back floral fragrance I like , I had to try it out because of Tihota.
If I have to rate my favorite Indult fragrances:
    1. Tihota
    …………
And then Manakara , Isvaraya and My Ju-Ju are fighting for the silver medal
    Thanks a lot
