Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence Review (Christèle Jacquemin) 2022 + Scent as Serenity Giveaway

Christele Jacquemin Echoes of Silence review

Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence by Karl

Clarity of mind means clarity of passion too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves.” Blaise Pascal.

With time spent studying Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence I am beginning to understand her signature DNA and olfactive philosophy more clearly.  Her perfumes have a distinctive quality to them, and this is evident in Echoes of Silence.  When we finally met at Esxence  2022 in Milan it was obvious that she is a deep thinker and someone who presents a tranquil existence.  Her calm exterior and congenial manner create a sense of ease and one is taken aback with her ability to produce fragrances which most certainly reflect her persona. Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence was inspired by her photographs taken in Art Nouveau style buildings in the region of Murcia where she lived for seventeen years.  It represents a watershed moment where Madame Jacquelin freed herself after a period of restorative practice. In her words it is, “An invitation to break the silence and invest in the present with a new spring.”

The perfume is composed of more than 90% ingredients of natural origin. From the notes listed one particularly stood out to me. Lentisque Pistachio Absolute – Lentiscus from its Latin name one thinks derives from the word Lentus meaning ‘soft’ and considering the feeling of Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence this note reflects the aura I receive when experiencing the perfume.  Upon spritzing it the sense of being soothed softly is conjured up in my mind.  One is provided with a reassurance that all is well and at peace.  This is a moment of serenity. On reading the ingredients  one may think that this is a zingy citrusy scent given the use of lemon, petitgrain, lemon tree Nanah mint, Litsea Cubeba and Lentisque.  Instead, these ingredients produce an effervescent touch of illumination, and we feel a glow of incense which also creates a spacious breathable encounter, as if opening dark window shutters to allow a beam of light into the room.

The combination of artichoke concrete is a stroke of genius as it adds a slightly sweet but vegetal vibe that blends smoothly with the brighter facets of this fragrance and is certainly a unique touch.  Spices such as turmeric and cinnamon leaves amplify the cosy warmth of Echoes of Silence and keep one wrapped in an aura of security.  Rose, rosewood leaves and sacred wood fruit essential oil are used an accompaniment as opposed to becoming the centre of attention here and combine seamlessly with the citruses and also provide a resinous mellow nuance.  Tonka Bean gives the slightest sweet aspect which combines well with rhododendron leaves and as the wearing goes long into the hours, I detect the tiniest creaminess which is most appealing.

One feels a release of anxiety and when reflecting on the ingredients this must be the intent of Echoes of Silence.  There are many properties here that help with the elimination of toxicity in the body and creating well-being.  It is a fragrance which I will use when searching for a space to be at ease and calm. It is a great early morning or end of the day perfume when the hectic parts of the day give sway to time for oneself.

Notes: Lemon · Lemon Tree Leaves · Spearmint · Turmeric · Mastic · Rose · Artichoke · Rhododendron · Litsea Cubeba · Cinnamon Leaves · Tonka Bean · Rosewood Leaves · Holy Stick Fruit

I LOVE lemon and mint! Very few fragrance have that combo. This sounds exciting

  • Now Lentisque Pistachio note is not something I had heard of. Other notes like Rosewood also make me suspect that Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence has the touch of classic perfumes. I am also tempted to think that, due to high percentage of natural ingredients in Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence. I am in US.

  • What strikes me most is some of these listed notes: artichoke, Holy Stick Fruit, and Litsea Cubeba. I’ve not tried any from this line. US

  • Okay, I have to know what artichoke in a perfume smells like 🙂 I have been craving the smell of mint in perfume and would like to give this a try. I am not familiar with Christèle Jacquemin perfumes – thank you for bringing the house to my attention! ~Indiana

These nots are some I sure don’t see used often or at all. I have a rhododendron and I’ve never noticed a fragrance. This would be the perfect first day of school fragrance for me as back to school is coming soon. I’m going straight away to their site to check out the other fragrances. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Love the notes. This sounds wonderful for Summertime. Best of show award says it all. Love the name of the Fragrance as well. Thank you for this Chance USA

  • Christèle Jacquemin fragrances are one of my latest obsessions. She is very creative and everything I’ve tried so far is very very unique. Even hough Echoes of Silence seems to be a peaceful fragrance it makes me personally very excited. I particularly find interesting the pistachio and artichoke notes (I love both) as they are very unusual in fragrances. Also, what is sacred wood fruit? I really have to order her sample set and try a couple of fragrances I’m still missing, like this one. I’m from Illinois, US.

I am not familiar with Christèle Jacquemin perfumes but what an intriguing read. How she is profiled in this article and her approach to fragrance was what I loved most. Fragrance that transforms your mood and brings you peace and purity, very cool!

Notes: Lemon · Lemon Tree Leaves · Spearmint · Turmeric · Mastic · Rose · Artichoke · Rhododendron Litsea Cubeba · Cinnamon Leaves · Tonka Bean · Rosewood Leaves · Holy Stick Fruit. Intrigued by spices in particular cinnamon and tumeric. This is a house that I have got no experience with I am afraid but I need to explore this house further. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

But I am curious to know more about this house. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • I have a discovery set of Underworld, Memory Lane, Impermanence and Meandering Soul. But I haven’t had a chance to smell her new fragrances yet. I would love to try this one- I haven’t smelled pistachio or artichoke in a fragrance before, and I am always ready to add calming fragrances to my wardrobe 🙂 thank you for the review, writing from the EU.

  • Echoes of Silence sounds like a beautiful scent. We all seek tranquility. Thanks for the opportunity. Mich USA

what strikes you about Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence, where you live, and if you are familiar with Christèle Jacquemin perfumes

I’m intrigued by the turmeric and holy stick fruit notes. I’m in the USA. I’m not familiar with her perfumes.

I live in the US in North Carolina and am not familiar with any Christèle Jacquemin fragrances, but this description makes it sound like a must-sample! I love the inclusion of unusual notes like artichoke and rhododendron, not to mention holy stick fruit, whatever that may be. This sounds like anything but a run-of-the-mill citrus scent and I would love to experience how this combo of familiar and not-so-familiar notes works. I am also wondering if Jacquemin was thinking, when giving the scent a name, of the experimental film from the late 1960s by Peter Emmanuel Goldman titled ECHOES OF SILENCE. It made a modest splash in its time and needs to be rediscovered.

  • Thanks for the review Karl!

When the weather is hot I adore the fresher aromatic summer fragrances and am always looking for another fantastic scent!
Your review of Echos of Silence sounds amazing!

My job is very mentally intense and I often spritz a bit of my favourite fragrances to calm me down and put me in the good mood.
When you say you’ll use Echos of Silence when your searching for a space to be at ease and calm I completely understand what you mean, and I am quite eager to give this a try myself!

I haven’t tried any of Christèle Jacquemin fragrances yet, but my and my partner will be making each other Fragrance advent calendars and I am planning to get the discovery set so we can test our her creations!

    Greetings from the UK!

  • GennyLeigh says:

Christele Jacquemin uses such a sophisticated palette to construct her fragrances. Artichoke, rhododendron and holy stick fruit are not notes I’ve encountered before in perfume. She must have a truly extraordinary nose to know how those elements would work in a composition. Lentisque pistachio absolute is also new to me and it sounds like it adds a lovely soft feeling. Echoes of Silence is a really unique scent that I would love to experience. I am not familiar with her other fragrances but would definitely get a discovery set if available. MD, USA.

  • Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence sounds so tranquil, peaceful, and calming- like the comfort a wee child feels when his/her mother reads a bedtime story and then softly embraces them with a warm, gentle, enveloping hug and whispers “I love you, goodnight” quietly into their little ear. This is the first I’ve ever heard of an artichoke note utilized in fragrance and I’m beyond curious and excited to possibly get my nose on this fragrance through your wonderful giveaways! Wonderful review, Karl! Sincerely, Bonnie

  • I’m intrigued by all the unusual notes in this perfume – lentisque and artichoke concrete especially! I wasn’t familiar with Christele Jacquemin’s work but I’m definitely going to check it out now. I’m in the US

  • ajraccounts says:

What strikes me about Echoes of Silence is that it has so many unusual notes I’ve not smelled in fragrances, or read of being used — which makes me think the creator, Ms. Jacquemin, must be very brave — it’s not easy to combine new and/or unsual notes! I just so happen to be trying something today, JCE’s Un Jardin En Mediterranee, which has a note of Lentisque, so I happened to look it up not even 30 minutes ago, but several of the other notes outside of the citrus and rose are so unique.

Also, a fragrance that soothes, releases anxiety, brings on a feeling of serenity — yes please! I live in the US and as a somewhat newer reader of CFB, I’d not heard of Christèle Jacquemin perfumes before this post. What I see written in the photo of her and her fragrance display at Esxence makes me curious to check out the rest of her line, too.

  • This is an interesting combination of notes that I love along with notes I wouldn’t have expected to see. According to the review it is blended in a fashion that seems to work really well and I look forward to testing this potion! Tennessee, USA

  • pau.nguyen says:

What’s strikes me the most about thos fragrance is the use of artichoke in what seems to be an aromatic freshie. I’m very intrigued by how it would smell on my skin. While I’m not familiar with this brand, I would love to try it and would definitely look into ordering the discovery set. I’m located in Colorado

  • What a cool combination of notes! Who would’ve thought to pair spearmint with turmeric? I love the perfume display with all of the travel photos together, it’s a great concept. I have yet to try anything from Christèle Jacquemin. USA

  • This seems like a complicated scent and that is very intriguing. Especially if it can be pulled off in an inviting way. Excited to experience it in Maryland.

  • In addition, to the unique notes like lentisque pistachio absolute and artichoke concrete I appreciate the vibe of the fragrance based on Karl’s review. That is it promotes ease and calm and gives a soothing vibe. Not really familiar with any Christele Jacquemin fragrance but I have heard from a few reviewers about meandering soul, impermanence & underworld.
    Maryland, US.

  • Karl Topham’s review of Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence describes a calm soothing perfume. I like incense perfumes and given the intriguing note profile of Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence, I am very interested in checking it out. Artichoke and pistachio notes intrigue me (the latter was mentioned to be in the perfume in the review but is not in listed notes). No experience with this brand, yet. Loved the pictures and the quote by Blaise Pascal describing Christele Jacquemin in the beginning of this review – “Clarity of mind means clarity of passion too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves.”

Thanks again for the review and draw. Writing from the USA.

  • Karl’s review called my attention to a number of unusual notes used in Echoes of Silence, including pistachio, artichoke, and turmeric, and holy stick fruit. The lively citrus top notes are less surprising, but sound wonderful, especially on top of a vegetal, spiced heart. I’d love to try this fragrance—it’s surely a welcome respite during stressful times.

I’ve read about Christèle Jacquemin perfumes here before, but I’ve yet to try one. Thank you for linking to the discovery set!

    I’m in the midwest, USA.

  • Wow, this one sounds so amazing and interesting. This definitely sounds like a fragrance that’s way more than the sum of its parts. I would have never guessed that with the citrus and the artichoke concrete that this would be such a calming soothing, and meditative type of fragrance. I’ve not tried anything in this line before but my interest is definitely piqued! I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • In addition to Christele Jacquemin’s creation offering an experience of depth and relaxation, it appears “Echoes of Silence”, allows us to get an olfactive presence of it’s creator, one who is a deep thinker and graces those around her with a tranquil existence. Looking forward to getting my nose on this one. I live in the US.

  • Michael Prince says:

What interests me about Christèle Jacquemin Echoes of Silence is how this fragrance was inspired by her photographs taken in Art Nouveau style buildings in the region of Murcia. Karl describes this fragrance as being over 90% natural ingredients and how he was intrigued be her persona when they met at Esxence 2022. I’m not familiar with Christèle Jacquemin perfumes until reading this today, but I would love to try Echoes of Silence. I am from the USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I’ve heard of Christele, but I haven’t had a chance yet to try any of her fragrance releases. I hope to try her discovery set eventually. I’m very intrigued to try this fragrance because of its interesting list of notes. I like to hear that the citrus notes mostly add an effervescence in combination with the incense. I live in the U.S.A.

  • I have never heard of Christèle Jacquemin before this article, but I’m about to go check out the discovery kit! The notes sounds so interesting in this fragrance, but the absolutely singular addition of artichoke is astonishing and luring! I live in the US.

THis is such an intersting fragrance, filled with with some super interesting notes. The lenticus pistachio absolute is one that I should reasearch.
