Persephone and Demeter herald the arrival of spring Catherine Henningham Puttick via fineartamerica

Today, March 20, 21 is the Spring Equinox, and the day is as long as the night. Persephone returns from the underworld, to rejoin her mother Demeter; flowers bloom and we begin to believe anything is possible. Time to shake off the past year’s uncertainties, the stress of lockdowns and to spray on a scent that makes us feel renewed. Our picks for the best Spring Perfumes Part 1:

Neela Vermeire Créations Niral (Bertrand Duchaufour): Blessed be the Eternal Return in all her glory; lockdown cannot prevent her cyclical rebirth, thank goodness. There continue to be a great number of us for whom actual travel is not feasible or prudent – so armchair forays to an exotic clime are very welcome indeed. In this spirit, I’ve chosen Neela Vermeire and Bertrand Duchaufour’s stunning Niral which transports us along the venerable Silk Road as my spring favorite this year. Nearly three years ago, I insisted that “Neela Vermeire Creations Niral is wearable wanderlust at large”; I stand by that assertion today. Its amalgam of East-meets-West initiates our journey with a celebratory pop of champagne and the slightly bitter herbalcy of angelica and cool iris. We’ll need that introductory coolness as we venture into the realm of sun-warmed woods, leather and hot cups of black tea – fragrant and all-consuming, tempered with rose and magnolia. Fizzy, green, floral and leathery, Niral hits all the sweet spots. Spring in Milano Parco Sempione

Spring in Milano Parco Sempione by Ermano

Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino (Jean-Claude Ellena) 2020: Finally, spring is here in Milan: trees are bourgeoning and blooming and extra hours of sunlight bless us with colorful sunsets. You can smell this radiance in Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino, which made also our CaFleureBon Best of 2020. Composed by Master Perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena as the start of a new collection called Viaggio in Italia, Mandarino releases a colorful range from chiffon yellow to dark orange along with the whole fruit, from the minty young leaves to the sweet pulp. A dash of blackcurrant adds a vibrant tartness. The musky trail wears carefree as a perfect spring afternoon: walking and taking photos as all your senses  are filled by the delights of nature awakening . Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino is an ode to the promise of new hope. Notes: Italian mandarin, blackcurrant, white musk – Ermano Picco, Editor

Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie

Spring fantasy with Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie (photo composition/digital editing: Despina Veneti©

Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie (Shawn Maher) With glowing clarity of vision and remarkable technical mastery, Mr. Maher composed an exemplary, fascinating study of the green aspects of vetiver. Fresh, crisp and thirst-quenching, this delightful fragrance encapsulates the feeling (or should I say the dream) of spending an ideal day in a sunny, verdant meadow. La Petite Prairie’s invigorating aromatic cocktail is based on a triple dose of grassy vetiver (Haitian, Javanese and synthetic) topped off with a spectacularly contrasted, tart/sweet tonic juice (citruses, pineapple, rhubarb), garnished by subtle, green-tinted florals (geranium, carnation), resinous touches (elemi, myrrh, styrax), rosemary twigs and a dash of Sichuan pepper. Smiling and light-hearted, yet polished and sophisticated, the fragrance marries the pastoral and the urbane in harmonious bliss. It was only last month that I tried it for the first time, but since then Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie has been filling my city-girl heart with utter joy – and much-anticipated spring. Notes: Citrus, Pineapple, Rhubarb, Vetiver, Geranium, Carnation, Rosemary, Sichuan Pepper.Despina Veneti, Senior Editor.

Astilbe in Bloom at Tony’s Mom’s House

Aether Arts Perfume Love for 3 Oranges (Amber Jobin): The Trinity of Orange evokes the resurrection that is Spring. Aether Arts Perfumes Love for 3 Oranges embodies the beauty of this season with its uplifting and rejuvenating notes. The Orange, fruit of the flower and of the tree is so photorealistic that you cannot help but believe that you have just bitten into the most luscious ripe orange. As your mouth waters and your mood improves, the enchantingly sweet and fresh Orange Blossom, second in this trinity, comes into focus, accented by light but crisp, slightly bitter green notes. It brings to the forefront the unfolding beauty – both visually and olfactively, of the glory and rebirth of Spring. These symbols are harbingers of the warmth to come, fade gently into the base of the Trilogy – the wood from whence the life and beauty came. Hints of musk accent the woody notes, adding a soft, ethereal sensuality. Notes: Juicy orange accord, orange blossom accord, green notes, woody accord, and musk Tony Burgess, Associate Contributor

Masque Milano Kintsugi review

The Art of Magic the Gathering Ravnica book with digital effects by Nicoleta

Masque Milan Kintsugi (Vanina Muracciole) reads on my skin as a beautiful chypre, centered around the heavy breath of flowers. There is an almost “Lovecraftian” feeling of mystery, depth, and presence watching you from this scent, a strangeness that bounces back and forth – like one mirror reflected in front of another. I have been practically living in it, trying to summon some magic into this frozen spring that feels like a permanent re-edition of Groundhog Day. Notes: bergamot essential oil, Chinese magnolia essential oil, savory amber, golden suede, centifolia rose Grasse absolute, violet leaf absolutebenzoin Siam, raspberry leaf absolute, patchouli coeurvanilla absoluteNicoleta Tomsa, Editor

Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino is a fragrance that I would love to try. Jean-Claude Ellena is a wonderful perfumer, and this one sounds right up my alley. Some of the others sound interesting as well, like La Petite Prarie, with it’s use of one of my favorite notes (rhubarb). I live in Maryland, USA.

  • I haven’t smelled any of the listed fragrances, but the triple dose of vetiver in Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie sounds great and very appealing. I would love to wear it and enjoy it. Regards from Mexico!

  • Claumarchini says:

All the fragrances listed in this review sound really interesting, and perfect to finally leave winter and open up to spring, sun, a bit more joy than this heavy and long winter. If I were the lucky winner I would go for Niral, as I particularly love the dichotomy between east and west, and the notes sound amazing. Also, I would like to try La Petite Prairie, as the use of rhubarb intrigues me. Greetings from Italy

  • I like everything I tested from Masque Milano. They have a fragrance for every season and weather. I like Kintsugi as well and it is perfect for spring.
    Thanks! Europe

  • Rachel Lowe says:

They all sound delicious, but vetiver always sends a pleasurable shiver down my spine so I’d have to choose La Petite Prairie. A triple dose of vetiver sounds divine and rhubarb and geranium are also some of my favourite notes. It sounds truly special and just right for a new spring awakening – something I think we’re all in need of! Sending happy new season wishes from the UK.

  • Wonderful selection of fragrances that evoke the awakening of spring and that were described beautifully. Of the listed creations, I am only familiar with Masque Milano Kintsugi, which is radiant and elegant and one of my favorites from the brand.

The ones I am drawn to the most and would love to win are:

Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino, because I always enjoy a well made citrus fragrance.

Neela V. Niral, because I am drawn to its bitter coolness and also to the magnolia note.

Chatillon Lux , because of the blend of unusual notes (I am especially curious about how pineapple and rhubarb notes work together).

Thank you for the great opportunity. I am in the USA.

  • This review got me so so so excited for spring! The pictures chosen also evoke such happy feelings and around the season as well. Honestly, so many of these appeal to me, but I would love to try Masque Milano Kintsugi or Neela Vermeire – something about their notes and blends that I would just love to smell…
I think this is an excellent selection of niche fragrances that we hardly get to hear about in mainstream sources. That is actually another thing I enjoy about reviews and this selection of spring choices in this article- encountering new fragrance houses according to a theme that I already have fond feelings towards! – In this case Spring!
    Thank you from Canada!

  • If I had to chose one, I would not even hesitate and pick Niral. Ida description speaks to me, and it’s composed with my favorite note Iris, and one that I am longing for tea. Since I am still looking for the perfect to me black tea scent. Add this to a sparkling, hot and cold floral perfume, and it sound just pure perfection. Sorry for this gushing comment.
    From France

  • Love the idea of oranges in the spring, especially when Ellena is on the case. Ditto with green vetivers, delicate florals and mineral woods. Something about the old Hermes fragrances that just brings out the feeling of being in the countryside in May. L.O.’s Mandarino would be a welcome addition for layering! Would love to win that one. Digging Despina, Tony and Ermano’s picks, but I haven’t tried the other two. Really like Ida’s description of Niral though. Sounds like Duchaufour created another winner. USA

  • There are some great choices in here. My partner has Masque Milano Kintsugi and, like Nicoleta, she loves wearing it. Especially now that Spring is in the air!

Vetiver is a note that is drawing my attention when looking for Spring fragrances. When you add Aromatic to that, then my interest is piqued. This fragrance sounds simply perfect to me.
I have heard many great things about the perfumer Shawn Maher here on cafleurebon and I would love to win La Petite Prairie.

    Greetings from the UK!

  • Amazing selection of very intriguing fragrances, combining bright and uplifting citrus and floral notes, with deeper green and woody nuances. They all seem lovely and extremely appropriate for this time of the year. I have to say that La Petite Prairie would be the one I would like to try, as I really enjoy a juicy pineapple note in a fragrance. Greetings from Greece.

  • AleksCipri says:

Happy beginning of sprint to everyone. I love winter and autumn fragrances, but as the winter comes to a close I start craving fresher brighter scents. I love all of the choices in this post I must admit. Since I’m from Illinois, US this is the order in which I would like to try these in case I am picked:
    1. Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino – made by Jean-Claude Ellena what more can you ask 🙂
    2. Masque Milano Kintsugi – I have tried this and I love it. It was on my wish list since then.
    3. Neela Vermeire Creations Niral – celebratory pop of champagne and the slightly bitter herbalcy of angelica and cool iris send very interesting as a combination.
    4. La Petite Prairie – citrusy and bright opening with vetiver underneath…great combo!
    5. Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges – I love oranges and how they smell in fragrances. Perfect for spring.

  • Great choices for spring!
I have two Neela Vermeire creations perfumes and would love to try Niral due to the iris, magnolia and that pop of champagne.

The Kintsugi is a chypre and I love well-crafted chypres. Plus, Nicoleta refers to it as “lovecraftian” which means it’s a must try for me.

Le Petite Prairie seems to take a fascinating deep dive into vetiver and the addition of rhubarb, carnation and sichuan pepper takes it into sophisticated dimensions.

Love of Three Oranges sounds like the sunniest welcome to spring with a celebration of orange in fruit, blossom and green leaf/stem notes.

Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino also gives the nod to a sunny spring with the focus on orange but with the tart addition of black currant.

I would be delighted with any of these fragrances! Commenting from MD, USA.

  • Interesting choices some of them ive tried and i can see ehy they have been choosen. Given the chance i would choose Masque Milano kintsugi because i love cypre.
Laboratorio mandarino because it is in my wishlist, very pleasant and easy to wear fragrance.
Also Neela Vermeire Creations Niral because i lovee the combination of champagne and iris like lattessa.
    Thanks for the chance

I needed a reminder that today is spring. It’s dreary here in the pacific NW. Love the springy artwork and photos. I’d love to win the Love of 3 Oranges or the Mandorino as I need an orange centric scent to remind me of my orange tree when I was growing up. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • I often have trouble picking among the items in posts like this — and in this case I haven’t smelled any of the fragrances — but this time I immediately gravitated toward La Petite Prairie. I’ve always wanted to try Chantillon Lux fragrances (I’m oddly fascinated by all the Missouri inspirations, as I lived there for awhile, decades ago). And Despina makes it sound delicious. Fruit notes contrasted with vetiver sounds like a perfect spring fragrance to me. I’m in Oklahoma, USA. Thanks, as always, for the generous draw!

  • This is a nice list that reflects the hope spring brings as we emerge from a difficult winter. I’m interested in Neela Vermeire Creations Niral because I’m curious to experience the bitter coolness and the magnolia note. I live in the USA.

  • On grey days there’s no smell more cheering than a freshly peeled mandarin – I would love to try Mandarino from Laboratorio Olfattivo! – A reader in (grey) Berlin

  • This is soooo difficult. I love your choices and trying to pick one is impossible, but I would love to win Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino. It just sounds amazing. Thank you to all the contributors and to all the perfumeurs who make this draw possible. I’m in the USA

  • wilsonwc76 says:

These all sound delicious! Spring scents are my favorite: fruity, zesty, happy and fresh. The scent I would most want is Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino because I love a Jean-Claude Ellena scent and I’ve heard this one is a real winner. I love a citrus scent that uses the whole experience of the fruit, from leaf to pulp. I’m in NYC.

  • One thing I noticed in the review is that citrusy may be the note that features predominantly in perfumes suited to the spring season. Citrus is invigorating which jibes well with the spirit of the season. My choices are Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino, Neela Vermeire Creations Niral, and Masque Milano Kintsugi. I am in USA.

  • forrestanez says:

I have not tried any of these options personally, but based on the note breakdowns, they all seem like very solid picks. I have tried Tango and Russian Tea from Masque Milano and those two are MASQUEterpieces! If given the chance I would choose Masque Milano Kintsugi. Leather/Suede is one of my favorite notes in perfumes. When you add raspberry leaf, vanilla and amber with suede, it just sounds like perfection. Great mini review on magical this fragrance can be.

    I live in Hawaii, USA

  • Thank you for your wonderful review! I have been waiting for Spring forever, or at least that’s how it feels. I absolutely LOVE orange fragrances and Love For 3 Oranges sounds absolutely beautiful! I would love to be entered into the drawing for this fragrance. Thank you from Massachusetts!

  • Italian mandarin and white musk, a perfect combination for the spring that is beginning and even more so if it comes from the hand of the master Jean-Claude Ellena. Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino is my choice. Greetings from Spain.

  • flosolentia says:

Excellent selection! I only tried Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino in the store – it’s a lovely refreshing tangerine candy, very invigorating and joyful. I myself use more light, citrus aromas with predominant notes of lily of the valley, hyacinths, lilacs in spring.
    Wisbech, UK

  • The idea of a trip in Italy when the flowers and trees are in bloom sounds very exciting!
If I were to win, I would go with Laboratorio Olfattivo’s Mandarino.
    Based in Europe. Thank you!

I am mostly curious about Neela Vermeire Niral. The palette note is interesting: champagne, iris, leather, rose, tea, sandalwood… Really a fusion of East and West. Please count me in for this one!

  • What a amazing choices for spring time! I love spring because in this weather I can wear almost every perfumes- from chype from gourmand.
Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino sounds amazing – just suitable for my today mood))

  • Finally, spring is here in Milan: trees are bourgeoning and blooming and extra hours of sunlight bless us with colorful sunsets. Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino is an ode to the promise of new hope. Notes: Italian mandarin, blackcurrant, white musk – Ermano Picco, Editor A beautiful piece by Ermano and another one I am intrigued by is Masque milano Kintsugi especially rose, florals, leather and Patchouli in particular. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • Thank you for the chance. I love spring with all the nuances and vibrations of nature.
    My picks are …
    1. Neela Vermeire Creations Niral because of the “lightly bitter herbalcy of angelica and cool iris”

    2. Masque Milano Kintsugi because I love fragrances with “mystery, depth, and presence”

    3. Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino because it represents a “colorful range from chiffon yellow to dark orange”

4.Chantilon Lux La Petite Prairiethe because the “fragrance marries the pastoral and the urbane in harmonious bliss”

    5. Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Orange, only because “the Orange, fruit of the flower and of the tree is so photorealistic that you cannot help” myself

    I live in Europe!

  • Masque Milano Kintsugi and Loboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino apeals me the most by the notes and the creators .But all of this fragrances speak about renewal , cicical rebirth of nature . About spring . I would be lucky to win any of them ! From EU

  • I recently got a sample of Niral, and just as Ida says it is wearable wanderlust. It alternatively reminds me of three separate trips I’ve taken over the years, and wearing it feels like magic as I’m stuck working from home. I actually haven’t heard of the other picks which is very exciting, because if they’re even half as wonderful as Niral I’m going to love them. I would be thrilled to own a bottle of Niral so I can keep remembering past trips while impatiently waiting for future ones, and I’m based in Maine, USA

  • I love reading seasonal lists and am especially craving citrus fruits right now so everything sounds wonderful. I would especially like to try Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino even more so as it’s Jean Claude Ellena in fact a while range of Italian inspired fragrances sounds wonderful. I need transporting! I am in U.K.

  • I haven’t tried any of these but they sound like wonderful choices by description. I am so ready for spring! Here are my favorites:
Masque Milano Kintsugi, because I’d love to see its namesake art form interpreted as a fragrance. I can’t quite envision it from the notes but there is something about a mysterious floral chypre that is speaking to me.
Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarin because it sounds like a very beautiful ode to citrus, which always makes me think of warm, sunny days.
Chantillon Lux La Petite Prairie for its sweet tart opening and lovely rhubarb note.
Thank you for the generous opportunity! Oregon/US.

  • I have to say that all the fragrances listed sound wonderful and can’t wait to see the part 2!
I would like to give Kintsugi a try. A chypre centered around heavy flowers – an interesting concept! I am in Europe.

  • Wow I think this is the first list I’ve seen here that I’m not familiar with any of the fragrances it mentioned.
    I would love to try:
Masque Milano Kintsugi, because it sounds very aromatic and elegant.
Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarin, because, who doesn’t love a great citrus scent?
Neela Vermeire Creations Normal, a combination of notes that I’ve never seen before from one of my favorite perfumers.
La Petite Prairie, sounds citrusy, spicy and sparkling.
Thank you for the generosity. I live in France.

  • kramerongo says:

I like test of frag here but my favorite will be Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino because it perfect for spring and summer. I love to win it. I am in Sweden EU

  • HiMyNameIsWaste says:

I’d like to win Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino – a radiant sunset of a fragrance is just what the weather calls for.

I live in Nashville, TN USA.

  • Loved the Lovecraft reference! These are all great fragrance selections; I typically enjoy something lush and verdant for spring. I would love to win La Petite Prarie since I enjoy rhubarb in fragrances! I am from Canada. Thank you again for the draw!

  • What a list! Two of my favorite noses (Duchafour & Elena) and one from my just about favorite house (Masque Milano)!! Which leads me to the next to impossible choice of which scent I’d like to win. I’m really wavering, lol. But the winner is Niral, because I haven’t gotten my nose on it and I sure would love to as NV and BD make a winning combination. I’m in Maine, USA, and the first day of spring today is much warmer than it usually is, but here spring doesn’t truly come until June. I can already feel my desire to wear different scents, though.

  • Magnolias and oranges sound perfect for spring. I live in Oregon and would love to win Laboratorio Olfattivo mandarino and Masque Milano kintsugi.
First read about Mandarino here btw

  • Haven’t tried any of these but I am ready for Sprint Time!! Looking at the list I would love to win the Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino parfum cologne!! Thank a lot for this draw! Living in the EU

  • They all seem wonderful, but I think what I would love most from all of this great selection is Neela Vermeire Creations Niral. It has some really interesting things going on.
    Thanks for the draw! EU

  • At the beginning of the year, with the snow in our feet, I also thought that anything would be possible in spring… but unfortunatly in Europe, right now, we are not so sure… and uncertainty and lockdowns are still with us in the months ahead… But thanks to perfumes we can dream on..I love reading seasonal lists , gives me a great perspective of scents with the best possible notes:herbals like in Neela Vermeire Creations Niral ; citrus like in Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino and Aether Arts Perfumes Love for 3 Oranges; vetiver like in Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie and flowers like in Masque Milan Kintsugi .

I would like to win Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino : citruses (the whole fruit: from leaves to juice and pulp) by the hands an nose of Mr. Ellena… what else!! .
    I live in Spain, EU

  • It’s just too hard to pick. They all sound wonderful and I haven’t smelled any of the choices yet. So, I’d be happy with any of the mentioned scents. When I win: just surprise me. I live in EU.

  • I completely agree that perfumes have been a kind of armchair escape during the pandemic, and Niral has been one of the most wonderful perfumes I’ve smelled this whole year! I love how deep and nuanced it is, just so unique and transportive, I daydream about owning a bottle myself! Thanks from Los Angeles!

  • Once again Cafleurebon and these wonderful perfumers are brightening up a gloomy day with their generous giveaways.
I would be delighted to win any from the list, but especially interested in Kintsugi (Nicoleta beautifully described it as an alluring, mysterious floral chypre with a Lovecraftian influence – love that), Neela Vermeire Niral (Ida’s nose is an absolute guarantee, and the promise of a black tea – infused leathery-floral concoction sounds delightful) and La Petite Prairie (I love vetiver, and this citrusy blend which sits right in the middle of modern and bygone, urban and rural sounds uncommon and very inspirational).

I thought the Cafleurebon editors’ picks were great, varied and very relevant to each of their tastes and preferences, as always.

    I am in the EU.
    Thank you!

  • What a wonderful mixture! Oranges, iris, chypre, green notes – just so vivid and spring like. I particularly love the sound of Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie and Despina’s perfect prose makes me covet it! I’m in the UK.

  • fleurdetilleul says:

Everyone chose interesting perfumes and wrote great reviews for them! Based on the notes alone, I wouldn’t know which one to choose between Niral and Kintsugi, but while I adore Lovecraft, my feet have been feeling especially itchy lately, so my choice is Niral. The review for this one resonated with me the most! I live in the EU. Thank you ÇaFleureBon and merci Neela Vermeire!

  • Giorgia295 says:

  • marcopietro says:

I state that I do not know directly any of the fragrances selected by you. Through your descriptions and through what I have already read on the net they are all really tempting and I would choose all of them.
Forced to identify only one, my choice will be Mandarino by Laboratorio Olfattivo, the reasons are my love for the fruit, my admiration for Mr. Ellena and my esteem for the brand.
    I live in EU
    Thanks!

  • macaroni023 says:

For spring I absolutely love citrus and green scents, my favorites are the ones that have mandarin, fig leaves, vetiver, geranium, anise, basil notes. Also I absolutely agree that for spring the best perfumes are the ones that bring you the feeling of renewal and rebirth. I think my favorite would be Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie, just because it has a nice fruity, juicy side of it and I love fruity fragrances. Second choice definitely goes for Aether Arts Perfume Love for 3 Oranges because I can’t imagine not having a citrus smell in my collection and this sounds like a very authentic orange scent composition. Thank you for the draw. I am from the EU.

  • So lovely to see its the season for citrus again and juicy notes dominate this spring 21 part 1 blog. Also happy to see the lovely Tony Burgess featured with a piece on Aether Arts which I still have to try but sounds absolutely outstanding.
What is would like to win because I’d love to try these fragrances are Amber Jobin’s love of three oranges for my love of zesty green fragrances. Also really would love to try Shawn Maher’s work on La Petite Prairie suggested by Despina, because I just love a good tart rhubarb note. Marit UK

  • What a nice and varied lineup. I’ve tried a few of them, but I’m not familiar with Chantilon Lux. I would love to try La Petite Prairie. The tart fruit notes sound wonderful. I’m in the US.

  • All of these sound very fresh for the spring season. Great descriptions for all of them. I’d like to win Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino. I love citrus, from the green leaves to the sparkly sweetness and Mandarino seems to definitely have that. I’m also a sucker for black currant’s tart quality, which this has as well. In fact, I might buy this one myself (if I don’t win it). I’m in the USA.

  • Happy spring, everyone! Here’s to a brighter season ahead. It’s a sign of my desperate need for sunshine and open air that every single one of these perfumes sounds like a pleasure. I’ve been reaching for greener, fresher, bloomier fragrances as the days have started to lengthen.

My #1 pick to win has got to be Neela Vermeire Niral. I have loved all three of the Neela Vermeire scents I have tried and would love to try the rest. I’ve been waiting to win the lottery but I may to splurge on Ashoka myself one of these days. Niral sounds like it would be a real treat, any perfume that pulls off the sparkle of champagne is an instant party, even if instead of a real party, it’s just a quiet brunch in my tiny backyard garden.

#2 might have to be Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino because I have a newfound craving for orangey citrus scents and this sounds like it would be super easy to wear on its own or layered. And blackcurrant is my comfort fruit, really a nostalgic scent for me. Sounds like it would inspire smiles and good cheer, and JCE compositions tend to be have an elegance about them to…. I could really use some extra poise over here, lol.

I’m in the USA, thanks so much for the draw!

  • Dubaiscents says:

All the choices make me excited about bringing out my spring scents! I’m ready for a change from my dark resinous and musky scents. I would love win a bottle of Niral, Mandarino or La Petite Prairie. Thank you for the draw. US.

  • The smells of Spring – wet earth, delicate flowers, cool air – say to me “welcome to the new year” more than the arrival of January 1. Diaphanous spring-like perfumes and citrusy summer colognes are my comfort scents all year round.

But lately I’ve made an effort to smell perfumes outside my familiar choices, so I would most like to try Kintsugi. Of all the beautiful scents highlighted here, Kintsugi seems to me the most challenging and different. Newness is what I most need now.

I am in the US. Thank you for the generous draw plus the perfume reviews, news, and beautiful artwork.

  • These descriptions all set my mind spinning. It reminds me of being very young and naïve and looking at fashion magazines about the coming spring season and believing that the colors and images in the magazines would come true. A great feeling, to be able to sustain fantasies like those. I’d enjoy receiving any of these prizes, but if I have to narrow it down, I’d choose La Petite Prairie first (for the notes & the pretty bottle), and Niral second (champagne, leather, magnolia…!). (USA)

  • i’m so happy it’s spring again — and things are growing, and changing (hopefully for the better for us humans, too.) meanwhile, all the perfume choices look really good, and i don’t know a one — so any would be wonderful.

    ~harper (usa)

  • Hi, what a wonderful draw! I really loved how each selwction was acompanied with a personal spring photo. Tom’s mum’s graden is aoo beautiful. Of the selection i only know Kintsugi and have been drawn to it lately, so a great choice.
If I win, I’d like Niral by Neela Vermiere.
    I’m in Slovenia, EU

  • Even though here in France we’ve started the Spring Equinox in a newly implemented lockdown and we can’t truly feel the scent of blooming trees, I can’t wait to start wearing my most cheerful perfumes.
Many thanks for this piece. The perfume that I’m most drawn to is Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie. I’ve been dying to try this one out.
Thank you for the draw. I live in France.

  • For me, spring is the most vibrant moment of nature. I love the noise, the light and the colors of this invigorating season.
My favorites from your draw are the “wonderlust at large” Neela Vermeire Créations Niral, or maybe I will have the chance to “summon some magic into this frozen spring” with Masque Milano Kintsugi and enjoy the trail of Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino, which “wears carefree as a perfect spring afternoon”.

Thank you for the chance! I am writing from Europe, Bucharest.

  • constancesuze says:

I have not tried ANY of these, but they sound beautiful, optimistic, and vernal. Spring is my favorite season and I’m very excited by the changing weather. I spent some free time yesterday listening to jazz on my fire escape while reading Capote. Good times.
I live in the US and would love to win Niral or Kintsugi.

  • For the last months, we have been longing for the free movement to be possible again, but as it seems foreign places might not be around the corner yet. At least, as Ida wrote, the upcoming spring and summer could be not hindered to come, so I have already been sampling and making a watch list for fresher spring scents. Cafleurbon’s editors’ and contributors’ recommendations are always such top-notch information and such a joy to read!

    1. A versatile and colorful list of notes in Neela Vermeire Creations Niral makes a compelling blend. A description of the fragrance as fizzy, green, and floral made it utterly appealing to my taste. Ida’s encapsulation of Niral as the wearable wanderlust at large has further piqued my curiosity about the scent.

    2. I love wearing zesty, vibrant, and radiant citrusy fragrances in spring and summer, so the name Mandarino has already a strong appeal. After reading Ermano’s original review, I have been under an impression that Mandarino has been a top representative of the fragrances in the category »awaking happiness, lightness and inner peace«, I was smitten by the notes break down and immaculate description of each one. Zesty mandarine, tart blackcurrant with a musky trail. What an Italian dream made by a Master French perfumer!

    3. What appeals to me about Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie is, first, the contrasting play between sweet and tart notes, and as a lover of green notes, the fact that the green aspects of vetiver and flowers are masterfully bonded, and spiced up with some rosemary and peeper notes. The attributes Despina ascribe to the fragrance (smiling and light-hearted, yet polished and sophisticated) amplified its appeal.

    4. Based on Tony’s review, Aether Arts Perfumes Love for 3 Oranges seems to be a marvelous mood-boosting fragrance for upcoming months. The name of the fragrance already speaks volumes about its essence, To me, the fragrance seems to be an ode to the orange tree, its flowers, and fruits. I enjoyed reading about the development of the fragrance, which consists of notes of orange in its different stages of the life cycle.

    5. Masque Milano Kintsugi has been on my radar for a while. Nicoleta’s review deepened the aura of mystery and made this artistic fragrance even more alluring.
I am impressed by all 5 fragrances and would be delighted to win any of them, but based on the reviews and regarding my current citrusy obsession, my favorites are Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino, La Petite Prairie, and Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges.
Thank you for the versatile recommendations and a generous draw!
    I reside in the EU.

  • These all sound like excellent perfumes but I have a deep and abiding love for Neela Vermeire’s creations, and Niral in particular. It is a hard perfume to describe because it is so immaculately blended, but Ida has done an admirable job, and only heightened by desire for this perfume. No disrespect for the other perfumes, they all sound excellent as well! Thank you for the draw. I’m in the USA

  • All the perfumes here sound lovely, though if I am the lucky winner, I would like to get Neela Vermeire Creations Niral – Ida sold me on the virtual wanderlust-quenching aspect of Niral, and the bottle is so beautiful, and the notes are lovely (rose, magnolia, sandalwood, cedar, leather…). Shawn Maher is an expert whose perfumes I have been slowly checking out, so La Petite Prairie with its green, vetiver feel sounds lovely too. Kintsugi’s notes are numerous ( bergamot essential oil, Chinese magnolia essential oil, savory amber, golden suede, centifolia rose Grasse absolute, violet leaf absolute, benzoin Siam, raspberry leaf absolute, patchouli coeur, vanilla absolute) and are bound to make a great perfume. The mandarino and Love for 3 Oranges are fresh, cheerful and spring-y. But for now I hope to win Niral. Writing from the USA.

  • Wow. These all sound amazing. I’ve never needed Spring more.
I would love to win La Petite Prairie because I adore vetiver and this sounds like a much different take on it. It sounds like something I would wear daily.
I would also love to win either of the orange fragrances, The promise of new hope from Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino or Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges with its glory of rebirth and spring. Orange is such a happy fragrance. When I am feeling down, some orange fragrance can brighten me back up. They both sounds perfect.
    I am in the US.

  • ScentitarFragrance says:

All your spring choices are fantastic and have that balance of freshness and woody or musky tones that work so so well in the spring. I am really happy to see more of your blog and content based on seasonality ! I love seeing france being represented too. Overall, I would love to win Kintsugi by Masque Milano ! Ms, USA

  • I have not tried anything Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino but it’s never too late, if bliss is good
    saludos desde Barcelona España

  • I really liked Ida’s description of Niral de Neela Vermeire, I love iris, it is the most precious material in perfumery and this perfume contains a huge dose of it, I like the green of angelica and I would like to know “champagne accord”. I love when Ida says: “Neela Vermeire Creations Niral is wearable wanderlust at large”. Thanks Ida
I also really liked the description of Nicoleta Tomsa from Kintsugi: “a beautiful chypre, centered around the heavy breath of flowers” because I nostalgia for the great chypre perfumes of yesteryear on the one hand and on the other hand I love the scent of the magnolia flower and it’s very hard to find a good scent with this theme.
    Thanks Nicoleta
These 2 perfumes are the ones I would like to win.I live in France, EU.

  • La Petite Prairie sounds fantastic, for me spring is all about the green. I’d also love to try Niral. I admit, I’m not sure I can quite picture the scent in my mind but I think that makes me want to try it more as I love a scent that is unexpected.

  • patrick_348 says:

All of the choices sound appealing and I would be happy to win any of them. If I had to choose one, I think it would be Niral, because I loved Ira’s description of it in terms of a cool opening before it warms up. This sounds like a scent that might defy categorizaion, and Bertrand Duchaufour is a perfumer to reckon with. I live in the USA in North Carolina.

  • Camelcutza says:

I have not yet smelled any of the listed frangrances but I am intrigued by and would like to win Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino. Its notes remind me of my holiday to Rome, when it was sunny, i was eating mandarin gelato and the world was a simpler place. I would love to go back in time a little with the help of Mandarino .
    Greetings from Romania, Europe

  • I am so relieved it is finally Spring!!! Here, in northeastern PA, it’s been SO cold. Reading the descriptions of all of these fragrances put me in such a good mood. I love that so many of them have mandarin as one of the main notes. So refreshing and uplifing!
I would choose Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges, Neela Vermeire Creations Niral, or Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino parfum cologne.
    I live in the USA.

  • Such beautiful choices! Loved reading about all five. I would love to try Kintsugi from Masque Milano as I am so intrigued by the brand, have sampled two other fragrances from them recently and now want to smell them all! This one sounds very special. I am from NY, USA. Thanks for all the Spring fragrance inspiration!

  • zhiang0113 says:

I loved the selection of fragrances for spring! These all match so well with my tastes – most of these are crisp citruses, fresh florals and brisk woods. These uplifting and refreshing fragrances would go very well with spring, where nature is teeming with life and bursting with optimism and radiance.

If I were to choose one that appealed the most to me from the list, I think I would love to win Kintsugi; the blend of rose and magnolia sounds so sensual yet delicate, but still grounded by amber and suede that give it just enough warmth to add some rosiness to its cheeks. (Not to mention Kintsugi is a concept that I really appreciate!)

La Petite Prairie (I am a huge lover of vetiver) and Mandarino (mandarins are my happy pills, plus Monsieur Ellena composed it!) sound really good too though, and I would be really glad to try them as well 🙂 I live in the UK!

  • KMBfragrance says:

Every review that introduces me to new houses and fragrances is a delight. I would most like to win is La Petit Prairie. The idea of smelling like I’m channeling all of the freshness of spring. I live in the USA.

  • NARA Hodgson says:

All of these sound fresh and the embodiment of spring. I would love to try Kintsugi. I am in the USA

  • Patricia A. Wood says:

La Petite Prairie sounds like just what I am craving while I await the arrival of Spring. Greenery, vetiver mixed with pineapple and rhubarb. Yum. The calendar says it is Spring. just not the weather. I could get a head start with La Petite Prairie. I am in the USA.

  • The list has some very interesting fragrances for the spring. Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie sounds like a masterpiece and I would definitely like to win. Pineapple, Rhubarb, Vetiver, Geranium, Carnation, Rosemary are just so interesting in fragrances. Sichuan Pepper is the only scent I am not to familiar with. The article list elemi, myrrh, & styrax to seal my choice.

  • Amanda32828 says:

Lovely review. Sadly I really haven’t had the pleasure of smelling any of them, but based on the notes and in the beautiful description of the fragrances I would love to own Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino. The notes are right on my alley. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the draw. Commenting from Orlando, FL.

  • Masque Milano Kintsugi has been on my “must try” list since it came out, so that would be my choice if I won. It sounds like it has a lot going on but in the best way. I’m in CA where summer takes up most of the year but I live for the Spring & Fall which are far too brief. I loved the reviews and the photos. I miss travel so much and I can’t wait for us all to emerge from the underworld we’ve been in.

  • Primula Veris says:

Springtime is my favourite time of the year and i’ve read your Best Spring Perfumes 2021 blog entry with curiosity. It is fantastic that Springtime evokes so many different memories, different for everyone, as you have included perfumes that are presumably light and carefree, like Love for Three Oranges and heavier chypre like Masque Milano Kintsugi. I wold love to try La Petite Prairie by Chatillon Lux Parfums as i adore rhubarb scent and other notes of this perfume. I also find the name very appealing. Greetings! I live in Poland, EU

  • IvanVelikov says:

The most interesting of contributors spring fragrances are:
1.Neela Vermeire Créations Niral , because of
“sun-warmed woods, leather and hot cups of black tea”
2.Kintsugi Masque Milano , because of
    “Mysterious chypre” description.
I don’t know it , but to me Masque Milano=Russian Tea= Julien Rasquinet = Mesmerizing scent. One of the most unique frags in my collection.
Thanks to all contributors , and the brands
    USA, rarely Paris France

  • Thank you for the wonderful suggestions for spring. I think all are unique and interesting. If lucky, I’d choose: Mandorino (“ode to the promise of new hope”), Kintsuki (raspberry leaves), Niral (champagne with angelica). Thanks for welcoming spring. Mich USA

  • wandering_nose says:

Happy and cheerful springtime to all the editors and readers!
I have been truly uplifted and re-energized by this post, leaping fast forward a month or so and imagining myself and my partner strolling on the sea front with only blazers on :).
Fantastic and tasteful choices here! Everyone can find a spring fragrance to suit their tastes: crispy and dry; mouthwateringly citrusy and sweet; grassy green with resinous touches; light and sensual; deep mysterious and floral.

I have been most attracted to:

    1) Kitsungi by Masque Milano as it contains a multitude of amazing notes, most of which are among my all time favorites

    2) Mandarino by Laboratorio Olfattivo – I adore mandarin based scents and the timeless elegance and simplicity signed by J.C. Ellena are guaranteed here

30 La Petite Prairie by Aether Arts as I am very curious to discover new facets of vetiver

Thank you from the Republic of Ireland, EU

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I am most interested in Niral by Neela Vermeire. It sounds like a lovely transition from winter to spring with the iris and leather notes. The pineapple and rhubarb atop vetiver also sound quite amazing in La Petite Prairie. Thanks for the list and draw. I’m in the US.

  • I so enjoyed reading about the editors favorite spring scents. All of the beautiful flowers and fruits of so many of the fragrances. I especially loved the article by Nicoleta about Masque Milan Kintsugi. “There is an almost “Lovecraftian” feeling of mystery, depth, and presence watching you from this scent,” I would love to try La Petite Prarie, Mandarino, and Niral. Of Course Kintsugi too! USA

  • sillage4ever says:

Terrific selection to ring in spring. It’s hard to go wrong with citrus.

I’m in the USA and what most catches my nose:
    :
Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino – I have yet to encounter a mandarin perfume I didn’t like, this one looks simple and wonderful.

Neela Vermeire Niral – It’s breaks my heart and my piggy bank that all the Neela Vermeire perfumes are delectable to me, Niral is one of her brightest stars after my beloved Ashoka.

Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges – I just ate a pixie mandarin for breaksfast, wish I were wearing this perfume right now.

  • Danu Seith-Fyr says:

All such beautiful creations that are marked with all the glorious aspects of Spring…. I know the glories of Niral by Neela but am smitten by La Petite Praire, Shawn Maher. Great choices
    I live in SW France.

  • Cezara Alexandra says:

I think spring is the right time to bloom and so are these fragrances. even though I am not familiar with them, by the reviews they seem like a good fit for everyone who likes a bit of freshness in their life and perfume wardrobe. I would love to win Masque Milano Kintsugi. I live in Europe, Romania.

  • Quite a large array of notes and genres – who says that spring is only for florals? 🙂
I’m very curious of Neela Vermeire’s Créations Niral, so I’d be quite over the moon to win it since I’ve heard only wonderful things about her fragrances.
I am living in EU, thanks!

  • VerbenaLuvvr says:

Summer equals sunshine and citrus to me. My entire Summer fragrance wardrobe consists only of citrus scents, and I am gravitating toward them now as it is Spring where I live. Thus, I am pleased to see that three of your five selections are citrus-themed. I am a fan of Shawn Maher’s work for Chatillon Lux (Bon Vivant is such exuberant fun!) and would be very happy to try La Petite Prairie as my top choice. His new Maher Olfactive line is on my try list as well. Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges is also especially interesting to me, based on the concept of capturing the entire orange tree and of course as an Art and Olfaction finalist. USA

  • Great choices for spring!
I’m still waiting for spring to really show up, but the fragrances presented help me get into the vibrant atmosphere of spring. really LoVEd the brightness of Kitsungi, the tartness of Mandarin, the sunkissed La petite prarie. My most wanted would be Kitsungi, but I’m sure Mandarin would put a spring in my step.I live in Romania.Thank you for your draw.Happy Spring!

  • Bryant Worley says:

I think your Spring list was excellent in epitomizing the smells that are perceived during Spring,, such as flowers oranges, vetiver,, pineapple (as well as other juicy fruits.

If I win, I want to receive Aether Arts Perfume Love for 3 Oranges (Amber Jobin), Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie (Shawn Maher), and Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino parfum, as these contain 3 of my favorite fragrant notes; ORANGES!!!, pineapple, and vetiver. :Nuff said.

I live in Waldorf, Maryland, USA.

  • I haven’t tried any mentioned above. They all sound good to go with Spring. I’d pick Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino. Thanks for the draw, Ca

  • ANDREEA ELENA TIMOFTE says:

I always welcome a new experience so any of this fragrances would be super loved by me. Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino sound interesting, but all the others too.Fingers crossed.
    I live in London, UK.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thank you for this beautiful curation of spring time scents. I love how all your scent choices just scream spring – from the early dawn of spring, when the chill is still in the air, but you can see green tips and chase away the cold with a hot beverage (Neela Vermiere’s perfume) to the first touches of warmth, when you can smell the flowers, soil greenery and are filled with optimism (Chatillon Lux Le Petit Prairie) to the full blast of nature’s healing (Mandarino, Love for 3 oranges, Kintsugi)

I would love to win any of these fragrances that are available for the US. Le Petit Prarie, Mandarino and Love for 3 oranges are probably my top choices.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • “Fresh, crisp and thirst-quenching, this delightful fragrance encapsulates the feeling (or should I say the dream) of spending an ideal day in a sunny, verdant meadow.”

Yes, please!! I live in a desert, and it is glorious right now, but in a few months I’ll be parched in every way. I’d love to win a bottle of La Petite Prairie. I am in Nevada, USA.

  • Such bright and sunny selections along with vetiver and the Silk Road
I would love to win any as I am in the USA

  • It’s hard not to feel optimistic while reading your wonderful reviews ladies! New spring, hopefully a new version of ourselves too. I frankly would live to try any of the fragrances, they seem excellent. My vote goes to La Petite Prairie, it stirs something in me. A simpler life that I would love to live. Many greetings from Greece, EU!

  • Thank you for another inspirational article and soothing words! Renewal is necessary for sure. Very interesting selection of fragrances for the fresh start! I live in the EU and here are the ones I am drawn to the most and would love to win:

    – NIRAL Neela Vermeire Creations – because I really like Neela Vermeire style, in collaboration with Bertrand Duchaufour, they perfectly balance Oriental and Occidental motives. I havent tryed Niral yet, but silky qualities contrasted with champagne sounds really intriguing;

    – MANDARINO Laboratorio Olfattivo, because I love a good mandarin (who doesn’t?) and I have heard a lot of excited reviews about it;

    – KINTSUGI Masque Milano – because majestic chypre with magnolia breath would be something new for me,

    – Love of Three Oranges, Aether Arts Perfumes – because I want to bite into the most luscious ripe orange and feel my mouth watering.
    Thank you!

  • I am curious about Kintsugi from Masque Milano. Everything I have tried from this house I found to be great! Great compositions, ingredients, natural smelling!
I think Kintsugi will be no exception! Thanks from Europe!

  • I would love to try Laboratorio Olfattivo. First because is created by the great Jean-Claude Ellena, and secondly, I did not test anything yet from this house. Thank you! Europe

  • Leland Johnson says:

La Petite is amazing. Declaration Grooming provides a soap and a splash that helps you layer this entrancing scent. Seriously this is my most complimented scent.

  • These all sound great, particularly La Petite Prairie. Green vetiver is a weakness of mine, and based on the description, this one is a must try. I would like to be considered for the draw of La Petite Prairie. Thanks so much! I am in Canada.

  • I LOVED the list, so many incredible fragrances! As for my picks, Kintsugi sounds just right up my alley! I love Masque Milano fragrances, and this intoxicating melange of roses and vanilla sounds incredible! The other one would be Love for 3 Oranges by Aether arts perfume. It sounds great and also I would love to try out something from the house! 🙂 I live in Croatia, EU.

  • Wonderful selection for spring, thank you for the inspiration! I would love to win (or at least to try out) NIRAL by Neela Vermeire Creations – because Bertrand Duchaufour knows how to make it happen, especially under the creative direction of Neela Vermeire, I wonder how that champagne motif is playing with florals. Other one that sounds great is MANDARINO Laboratorio Olfattivo, especially if it is in form of concentrated cologne, sounds so juicy, mouth-watering, but also with some woody-leafy touch…
I live in the EU and my choices are:
    – NIRAL by Neela Vermeire,
    – MANDARINO Laboratorio Olfattivo.

  • Margarita K says:

I love Ida’s thought; lockdown cannot prevent her cyclical rebirth.
And I remember that in this year that we lost our human contact and social life we gained access to the nature’s wonders. We had walks and trails as never before. At least my family and my dog did.
I’d love to win Neela Vermeire Creations Niral so it could take me to another journey, to an exotic nature and new encounters. I have sampled many of her creations and I love them, Trayee and Pichola are my favorite. I admire Bertrand Duchaufour’s artistry.
Greetings from USA. Happy spring everyone!

  • I’m not an absolute fan of florals, but from time to time, especially in the spring, when nature comes to life and the flowers start to bloom, I love to wear floral fragrances. It is like a feel the need to rest my nose from all the heavy winter notes and just fill my lungs with bouquets of flowers. I wuld love Kintsugi from MM. I currently live in Romania.

  • vickalicious says:

I love these types of posts that cover a variety of fragrances from various editors of the blog! I would love to win the following (located in the USA):

Niral: This sounds like such an interesting composition. The fizzy champagne, with the leather, and the herbal angelica sounds so unique. It’s one I’d love to experience!

Kintsugi: I have a sample of this one and I LOVE it!! I don’t come across many magnolia-dominant fragrances, but I get a lot of magnolia in this one, and it’s stunning!

3 Oranges: This sounds like a delicious orange/orange blossom fragrance- and the epitome of a Spring fragrance!

  • For me Spring and summer are fragances in my mind they are basicaly fresh citrousy, smelling to neroli, lemon, and orange.
But I neved smelt an fresh iris based perfume, so my first choice is the Niral, if it wasn’t for that I would go to Mandarino, because well, Mandarin is a citrus fruit 🙂 .

Here are the perfumes ranked by me curiosity, I would love the opportunity to win

    1. Neela Vermeire Creations Niral

    2. Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino

    3. Masque Milano Kintsugi

    4.Chantilon Lux La Petite Prairiethe

    5. Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Orange

Thank you ÇaFleureBon for this oportunity.

Greetings from Portugal, and good luck everyone!

  • I’m very interested in trying all of these fragrances; I think that it’s interesting that these are considered to be the best spring fragrances (2021). I live in MD., U.S.A. so I’m eligible to win any of these fragrances, and I hope to win all of them.
Neela Vermeire Créations Niral (Bertrand Duchaufour): Based on Ida’s review of it, I truly want to try it. I like it’s combination of notes too.
Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino (Jean-Claude Ellena): Ermano’s review of it caused me to want to try this fragrance. It seems like a high-quality, Italian-style, springtime fragrance.
Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie (Shawn Maher): I like it’s notes listing and I like sunny, verdant meadows (I do like to grow large beds of wildflowers). It seems like an enjoyable springtime fragrance.
Aether Arts Perfume Love for 3 Oranges (Amber Jobin): I’m interested in trying this realistic, juicy-orange fragrance.
Masque Milan Kintsugi (Vanina Muracciole): I like chypres, and I like floral. I also like it’s notes listing.

  • Michael Prince says:

Happy Spring Equinox. I would love the opportunity to win all 5 of these fragrances most notably Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino, La Petite Prairie, and  Aether Arts Perfumes Love of Three Oranges since they are more unisex offerings. I am from the USA.

  • I would like to win one of
    -Neela Vermeire Créations Niral
Reading Nicoleta take on Niral was captivating . I’ve heard the name dozens of times, but never had a chance to smell Neela Vermeire fragrances.
Well also well made iris fragrances I find hard to resist.
    -Masque Milano Kintsugi
Modern chypre with fruity sweetness, I’ve smelled it. No need to ask what’s our favorite Masque Milano fragrance , I’ll tell you anyway
Pretty sure most will give the same answer like me – L’Attesa of course. I could be biased towards this beauty, but hey … it is what it is. Happy owner here
Thanks for all the work, and the giveaway

  • In Best Spring Parfums Part 1 the best two are
    1.Neela Vermeire Créations Niral
After all the positive attention, I decided to buy Neela Vermeire discovery set from Luckyscent. 5 Loves, and one Not for me. The only one I would not wear is Pichola.
Speaking about Niral, to me it’s dry , spicy rose with beautiful buttery iris.
One VERY important note to all who consider getting Neela Vermeire discovery set , you will receive six , and not eight samples Rahele, Pichola, Ashoka, Bombay Bling,Mohur and Trayee . Mohur Extrait and Niral samples are NOT included in the discovery set, and you will have to pay extra if you want to smell the two. I know it was my fault not to look at the description of the discovery set , I also paid $4 extra for the shipping ot the two .
    2. Masque Milano Kintsugi
I’m not sure i would call Kintsugi a chypre , like Nicoleta did. I do agree the opening is, there flowers, but in the base all I get is raspberries, vanilla and dark chocolate. In the base Kintsugi reminds me of traditional Raspberry Chocolate Cake. I’m aware of Masque Milano fragrances because of Russian Tea .Top , and I really mean T-O-P tea fragrance. If you’re familiar with the whole samovar experience you’ll know what to expect . That’s actually how the fragrance was created. The two Masque Milano owners were in Russia , and inspired by the whole experience decided to make a fragrance that smells similar. I find it great, but if you’re used to sweetened synthetic bulsh… labeled as “tea” in the States, you may find it too dark for you. Try it guys, you won’t regret it.
Appreciate reading about all reviewers best Spring fragrances, and the giveaway campaign

Hearing a perfume described as Lovecraftian caught my attention big time, Kinsugi has been on my list to try for a while.

I’d would be overjoyed to win any of these especially Kinsugi to see what’s been put back together with gold & also Shawn Maher’s La Petite Prairie, as I’ve wanted to try this line of his for ages. But seriously any would make me bounce with spring like joy.
    I’m in Dublin Ireland

  • I love the vibe of such collaboration kind of giveaways, with different views from different people. I’ll go with
    *Neela Vermeire Créations Niral
Never smelled anything from Neela Vermeire , but saw a few of Sebastian reviews on YouTube , and also i know the brand is loved by most contributors on Cafleurebon , especially Michelyn .

What a great article, part 1 is amazing, can’t wait to skip to part 2 after this one. I immediately fell in love with Neela Vermeire Creations Niral. The bottle is just amazing. I thing spring is the most amazing time of the year to wear perfumes because there is a lot of smell around. Chantilon Lux is another interesting fragrance on this list, and I know that Shawn Maher is an amazing guy, so this one must be amazing as well. I’d like to win Neela Vermeire Creations Niral because the bottle is gorgous and i don’t have such a interesting fragrance in my little collection. Poland, EU

In theory Spring is already here , practically it’s still Winter. In no particular order
    Neela Vermeire Créations Niral
Such a sophisticated fragrance , black tea, florals, cedar and champagne.
Definitely special occasions fragrance I would wear with a suit only.
    Masque Milano Kintsugi
Mystery, depth , suede, rose and raspberries all together? Nice. I could be wrong, but I think most people, me included know Masque Milano for Tango and L’Attesa, Kintsugi may be a hidden gem.
    Exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • Some very interesting fragrances, I love a good chypre so I would lover to win Kintsugi first , but I would also like to win Neela Vermeire Creations Niral, that sounds very nice with the woods, leather and especially tea.

    From Denmark

  • Beautiful choices. I am always happy when I see Neela Vermeire Creations on such lists. I already have two other fragrances from this house – Mohur and Bombay Bling. As well as a decant of Trayee. I am delighted with the quality and delicacy of these creations. I am also a fan of Bertrand Duchafour’s works. I don’t know Niral yet but would love to add it to my collection. I am also interested in Mandarino. Have heard many good things about it and seen this perfum on many best of the year lists. In addition, I love mandarins. This is probably my favorite citrus in fragrances.
    I live un the EU.

I’ll share my thoughts on the fragrances I know
    Neela Vermeire Créations Niral
I was introduced to Neela Vermeire at Esxence 2018 . Esxence is surreal experience for every fragrance lover, but to my utter disappointment 2021 edition was canceled…again.
Niral is sensual , natural smelling close encounters woody and floral iris fragrance.
    Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino
The smell i like , but the performance…definitely not. Surprising, because Laboratorio Olfattivo are famous with powerful fragrances. My favorite three Alambar , Alkemi , Vanhera do have really strong projection, but Mandarino was gone from my skin in ~1 hour.
    Masque Milano Kintsugi
“….like one mirror reflected in front of another”
Indeed. Hard to describe fragrance, it changes so much.
If I had to pick one Masque Milano for the Spring, I would’ve chosen Romanza
I’d love to win one of Niral by Neela Vermeire, or Kintsugi by Masque Milano , thanks.
    I believe I follow all
    @cafleurebon @Idameister @Magnificent @Despinvnt @nicoletatomsa @carboytony826 @neelavermeirecreations @laboratorioolfattivo @chatillonlux @aetherartsoerfume
USA only , thankfully for 2 more weeks only

  • It’s really cold today, It doesn’t really feel like it’s Spring.. Your Spring picks I’d like to have
    Neela Vermeire Créations Niral
Fizzy, green, floral and leathery – say no more
    Masque Milano Kintsugi
Mysterious rose , suede and amber combo i would love to try . I also know L’attesa , one of the best Iris fragrances ever.
    Thanks to all
USA most of the year , and Germany from time to time

I love these choices. I have been wanting to try Kintsugi ever since it came out. This has inspired me to track down a sample soon. La Petite Prairie sounds very interesting to me too, as I have recently discovered a love of vetiver.
I would love to win Neela Vermeire Creations Niral, La Petite Prairie or Love of Three Oranges.
    I’m in Canada.
