Atelier Des Ors is grounded in the French classicism but we are reinterpreting our heritage with a modern twist.” – Jean-Phillipe Clermont for CaFleureBon 2016

Atelier des Ors inaugral perfumes were introduced at Esxence 2015 (collage Megan Paki)

Atelier Des Ors first fragrances were presented to the public at Esxence in Milan in March of 2015. The founder of the house, Creative Director Jean-Phillipe Clermont and  house perfumer Marie Salamagne of Firmenich share a passion for French haute perfumery.  Their fragrances are created from precious essences and exclusive raw materials, presented in glimmering sunburst patterned glass bottles, flecks of 24 K gold leaf floating in many of the perfumes.

Atelier Des Ors’ stunning works of olfactory and visual art evoke some of the strongest sensations of scent/color synaethesia that I’ve experienced in my many years of enjoying and writing about fragrance.  While I adore every one of Atelier Des Ors perfumes, today I have chosen three that I believe perfume lovers everywhere should be wearing.

Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve review

Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve (A CaFleureBon Best of Scent) – My first experience of House Atelier Des Ors was in 2016 with the sixth fragrance in their original Black Series, Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve. The name “Iris Fauve” immediately evoked, in this gardener’s mind, the images and colors of two flowers, the North American wild flower, Iris fulva (also known as the Tawny or Copper Iris) and the luxuriously textured hybrid bearded iris. Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve opens fresh and transparent like the iris fragrance I experience every spring when I bury my nose in the petals. Cool, lightly powdered with a hint of rosemary and fern-leaf, the floral realism quickly warms to a velvety-spiced blend of cinnamon, bergamot, orris and Liatris.  Liatris absolute is noted for its dusty vanilla effect, at once powdery and green, the perfect pendant to the bouquet of orris and cinnamon, adding warmth and sweetness without turning the perfume gourmand.  As Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve dries down, bergamot adds a bit of sparkling tang to the spiced flowers, giving an uplifting, cozy sensuality to the composition. Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve finishes as a breath of myrrh, an undercurrent of sandalwood and a lingering suggestion of the original realistic bloom.

Notes: Bergamot, cinnamon, orrisroot, Liatris, cypress, patchouli, vetiver, cedar, labdanum, myrrh, sandalwood and musk.

Atelier Des Ors Nuda Varitas review

Atelier Des Ors Nuda Veritas with White Flower.  Photo by Gail Gross ©

Atelier Des Ors White Series, Nuda Veritas, “The Naked Truth”, plays like the ever-changing patterns of light and shadow reflecting from freshly painted walls. The white canvas that is Atelier Des Ors Nuda Veritas interacts with the colors of my personal chemistry to create a subtle veil of exquisite blooming citrus and delicate jasmine, a cool translucent white glaze of scent that floats in the air close to my skin. Clean, slightly crisp and almost spiritual in effect, Nuda Veritas opens with an invigorating rush of cool, wet, bergamot drifting on a breeze of orange blossoms. This refreshing, moist, misty introduction dries and warms after about an hour to a creamy, floral bouquet of jasmine, osmanthus and Tahitian gardenia.  Despite the waxen white flowers, Atelier Des Ors Nuda Veritas is never heavy, but retains, through its twelve to fourteen hour life on skin, an airy, gossamer impression of orange groves in bloom, finished and varnished with a spicy combination of tagetes, musk and oakmoss.

Notes: Bergamot, Transluzone, orange flower petals, Jasmine Sambac, jasmine absolute from China, osmanthus absolute, tiare flower, patchouli, tagetes absolute, ambroxan, musk and oakmoss.

Atelier Des Ors Riviera Collection Riviera Drive (2019) – Like treasured postcards from long lost friends, or current photos from my granddaughter as she vacations in Nice, Atelier Des Ors Riviera Collection Riviera Drive revives my memories, painting olfactory pictures of scenic drives, fragrant gardens and the deep azure blue of the Mediterranean. The first breath of Riviera Drive is extremely fresh, a little wild and ever so exhilarating. I imagine myself speeding around in my old 1968 British Racing Green MGB roadster, the soft top down, zipping over narrow winding roads high above the sea. A glint of bright lemon and a loose bouquet of fresh herbs – wild marjoram and rosemary – create the aromatic impression of summer wind in my hair, a sense of freedom, youthful exuberance and possibility. Bright blues and chartreuse hues are intensified in the heart by deeper resinous greens of cedar leaf and absinthe.  In Atelier des Ors Riviera Drive the vivid, adventurous spirit and fragrant vistas are grounded in the luminescent warmth of patchouli, Cashmeran and musk.

Notes: Lemon, marjoram, rosemary, cedar leaf, absinthe, patchouli, Cashmeran, cedar and musk.

Disclaimer:  I would like to thank Atelier Des Ors for the generous decants and samples of Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve, Nuda Veritas and Riviera Drive. My opinions are my own.

I am most intrigued by Iris Fauve because iris is one of my favorite notes. This has sparkling notes like bergamot and also contrasting notes like vanilla to give it an oriental vibe. My choice is Iris Fauve. I am in US.

  • Thank you for the review. Iris Fauve sounds delectable – I love amber and resinous scents. Iris is a favorite since I dig powdery vibes in my fragrances. Canada.

  • All the descriptions in the review are inviting. So for this draw I went eeny-meeny-miny-mo and Riviera Drive came up for the draw. Have yet to smell any AdO to have a fave. US

  • This sounds amazing. “I imagine myself speeding around in my old 1968 British Racing Green MGB roadster, the soft top down, zipping over narrow winding roads high above the sea.” If I am lucky enough to win the drawing, I would like Riviera Drive. Cheers from Oregon, USA.

  • These all sound amazing. Your descriptions paint such pictures in the mind of the reader! Iris Fauve is most appealing to me, because I am searching for an Iris fragrance to love. Though Nuda Veritas is intriguing as well, Orange Blossom is so beautiful, and I don’t have anything like it. But white flowers have a tendency to go bad on my skin, so Iris Fauve it is.

    I am in the US.

Thanks for all that you do.

  • BostonScentGuy says:

I really love this line and make it a point to smell it whenever I’m at Osswalds. I was initially captivated by Lune Feline, since I was shopping in the winter and its smoky, vanilla, incensy, woodiness immediately struck me. I love how Gail describes Iris Fauve, because I’m very familiar with that scent, and she describes it so well. It is all about this beautiful orris decorated up top with the light scent of blossoms and bergamot, in its heart with more aromatics like cinnamon and coumarin, and has this velvety feel in the drydown. “Uplifting cosy sensuality” is exactly right and well said! If I were so lucky to win this draw, I’d love Iris Fauve, as it is my favorite overall in this line. Thanks for the draw–I’m in the US.

  • Very nice review, and honestly, all of these three fragrances sounds really good in their own way. But I think I would enjoy the most Iris Fauve, so If I would as lucky to win, my choice is that one. I have never had a chance to try anything from Atelier Des Ors, yet. Thank you very much for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • Atelier Des Ors is one of the houses I’ve always wanted to become acquainted with. Lune Feline seems to be a perennial favorite of the brand. After reading Gail’s delectable review of Iris Fauve, another one has been added to my list of compositions to try from the house. There is something so enticing about the aroma of iris slowly morphing and warming up into a swirl of spices and other notes. It would be such an honor to win a bottle of Iris Fauve. Thanks Jean-Philippe and Megan for such generosity and kindness! And thanks to Gail for such a great review! I’m in Oregon, USA.

  • The world we live in is a pressure cooker, i guess most of us agree on that. If there’s anything out there able to instil “a sens of freedom, youthful exuberance and possibility” i’ll grab it with both of my hands! Riviera Drive would be my choice. I haven’t set my nose on any Atelier de Ors potions yet. Hugs from Romania.

  • carlos_lager says:

Thank you so much for the great review. To me Iris Fauve sounds the most appealing out of the three. I love Iris and Myrrh in my fragrances. So if I win, I would chose a bottle of Iris Fauve! Thank you very much for the opportunity! Greetings from Austria (EU)

  • Thank you for the draw! My choice would be “nuda veritas” because of the jasmine i adore. I have never tried an ADO perfume, so i am very intrigued to discover this house. Regards from EU

  • I’m in love with Atelier des ors bottles. I’ve only tried Lune Feline and Bois Sikar and liked them both a lot. Riviera Drive is the one i would like to smell the most, awesome giveaway, thanks for the chance. I am in the EU.

  • How on Earth can I pick – I’m dying for an iris, jasmine is my favorite note but, since I must, I feel most drawn to Riviera Drive. All that and patchouli! I have not tried Atelier Des Ors yet and I live in the USA.

  • Oh, that note of absinthe! And the bottle is stunning! Riviera Drive would be my choice, if lucky. The gold flakes are definitely a classy touch. Thanks for another great article and generous draw! USA

  • Gail’s description of Iris Fauve makes me want to choose this particular one of the three. This is not to say that the others are not worthy of attention, far from that, but the Iris does capture my attention. I’ve sampled Lune Feline and Larmes du Desert. I loved both of them. This house is remarkable. Thank you for that great imagery of motoring above the Riviera. It is a wonderful experience that I have enjoyed. Thank you also for a superb draw. I’m in the USA

  • I have not sampled any of Atelier des Ors and would love to! i have been wanting to try Luna Feline but the Iris Fauve sounds amazing! Thank you for the chance to try. I love Iris note and vanilla. USA

  • All of them sound fantastic but I would Love to try Nuda Veritas Atelier des Ors, the Calone sounds amazing I actually don’t have any fragrances with that note so I would Love to start with Nuda Veritas. I live in the USA

  • The “Iris Fauve” piques my interest, as I am captivated by the Liatris which is mentioned to add a sense of “dusty vanilla.” With vanilla being one of my favorite notes, I would love to see how this liatris melds with the floral aspects of the fragrance.

  • Dubaiscents says:

I have always enjoyed this house and have tried many of them from the black and white collection but have not seen those gorgeous blue bottles in person yet. The herbal scent with marjoram and rosemary sounds really lovely. But I know that I love the powdery and slightly animal Iris Fauve so, that is the one I’d have to choose. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • What a great write up about these 3 fragrances. I’ve never tried anything from this perfume house before. The one fragrance that really stood out for me was Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve because I really love iris notes. But the combination of some of the other notes like cinnamon and myrrh really make this sound incredibly mysterious and rich. So my choice would definitely be Iris Fauve!
    I live in the US.

  • Nathan Cherry says:

The most appealing fragrance to me of this lineup is by far Iris Fauve. I adore iris in general, but I also am a huge fan of myrrh, so the combination of the two, along with warm spices, vanilla, smoky cypriol…Wow, it sounds totally intoxicating, and I’d love to have it! My choice is Iris Fauve. I’m located in Taiwan.

  • I am mad for scents containing iris. I would love to see how Atelier combines the cinnamon and vetivert with the orris notes. I choose Iris Fauve. I’m in the US.

  • MissJanners says:

Iris Fauve sounds like my kind of fragrance. Deep, cozy, but also represents spring with the top notes, so probably wearable in all seasons. Nuda Veritas sounds quite lovely as well, but I don’t usually go for the airy or ozonic scents as much. It sounds like it is very long lasting though, so that’s definitely a plus. I would definitely have to try it before buying.

Riviera Drive is one that I know I probably wouldn’t like since it’s just not the type I usually enjoy, although I think the Riviera Collection bottles are absolutely gorgeous. Gail’s incredible description has me wanting to try it anyway, and makes me want to travel somewhere with sparkling ocean views too.

My absolute favorite Atelier Des Ors scent that I hope to own one day is Lune Feline. Folks, if you haven’t tried it, you really should. Or don’t, more for me then!

I loved this review, keep bringing us more like these Gail!
Out of the three, I would want to win Iris Fauve. I’m in Canada
Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  • I believe if I were to choose from amongst these three, Iris Fauve most appeals to me; it sounds quite complex with its many, varied ingredients…from cinnamon and orrisroot to cedar and myrrh. Thank you for the chance…I am in the US.

  • Always been a fan of Lune Feline, but Riviera Drive caught my attention this year with its keen mixture of herbs, sea notes and what might constitute an accord that is reminiscent of a roadway. What’s more, I certainly can’t overlook Gail’s impression of a driving in an MGB roadster. Love that car. However, I still have to say that I might prefer to experience the full elegance of Iris Fauve, sparkling bottle and all. I did manage to test it a while back and was thoroughly impressed by the myrrh in the base. Would love to score a bottle of that one! Canada.

  • All three of these Atelier des Ors fragrances sound beautiful in their own right and own way. Riviera Drive sounds great, Iris Fauve sounds really great, but I especially am drawn to Nuda Veritas. I like the line where Gail wrote, “Despite the waxen white flowers, Atelier Des Ors Nuda Veritas is never heavy, but retains, through its twelve to fourteen hour life on skin, an airy, gossamer impression of orange groves in bloom, finished and varnished with a spicy combination of tagetes, musk and oakmoss.” It sounds wonderful as does the longevity and the list of notes, so that is what I would pick should I be the lucky winner. I have not had the pleasure of trying any Atelier des Ors fragrances as of yet. I am from CT USA. Thanks for doing this and for the chance to win.

  • Sunny Chaudhary says:

First of I am reading Gail’s review about fragrance for the first time and it was pretty nicely written and I didn’t feel bore even for a single minute.

Atelier Des Ors White Series, Nuda Veritas, Excites me the most and I win this time I would prefer to try this one.

One thing that stood out for me about this fragrance that the projection on skin is almost 12-14 hours (like seriously). I am amazed.

The other thing which stands out is flecks of 24K gold leaf. I really want to try this fragrance for sure now.

    I am from Georgia, USA.

I never got the chance of trying Atelier Des Ors however I have heard a lot about Iris Fauve.

  • Jitterbug Perfume Lover says:

Wow. I am synesthestic too and the idea of sniffing Iris Fauve makes my knees weak. Plus, I think the little gold flakes are incredibly beautiful too. It’s pleasing to the eye and the nose. What a treat! I’m in Los Angeles

  • I would choose Nuda Veritas. I love the name, I would also love to wear this parfume 14 hours on my skin, smelling like jasmine and gardenia, as white flowers are my first love. Living in EU

  • Wow I love your descriptions! All of these sound divine but the one’s that’s drawing me in most is the beautiful sounding Iris Fauve. I’ve wanted this fragrance for awhile now- the note of Iris is one of my absolute favorites. I adore the cleanliness and sophistication of Iris. However this takes that note and flips it making it warm, seductive and cozy from what I’ve heard. It sounds incredibly intoxicating and luxurious. I currently live in the rolling hills of Iowa, USA. I’m hanging on to hope I win this one- this is one fragrance I’ve wanted ever since I heard of it. I appreciate the giveaway!

  • Gail’s description makes all of these three fragrances sounds really good in their own way. Because of the powdery, Iris Fauve is most appealing to me.
I have not tried Atelier Des Ors yet .
    Thank you for the draw.
    I am from Romania.

  • Love that the fragrances are created from essences and exclusive raw materials and love the presentation in the glass bottles. I would love to try Atelier Des Ors Riviera Collection Riviera Drive. Living in the EU

  • My favourite from the line is Iris Fauve. I had a chance to sample this a few months back and I think it is one of the best iris-based fragrances that are available on the market. A little bit powdery, some buttery going on. Everything is well balanced. A great one for sure!

I am in EU and if I were to win I would definitely go for Iris Fauve.

    Thank you!

  • I never had the chance to try any of Atelier des Ors perfumes, but thanks to Gail’s review the Riviera drive brings me “painting olfactory pictures of scenic drives, fragrant gardens and the deep azure blue of the Mediterranean”. I think I will love this perfume! Greetings from RO, EU.

  • Iris Fauve is indeed a beautiful warm, cosy iris, and I would treasure a bottle! I’ve had Lune Feline and Crepuscule des Ames and they are also beautiful perfumes. The prices are high but the quality of the juices and bottles is also high. Thanks for the draw, Roger from London, UK

  • Gail’s review was most appealing due to the description of the three scents not only in terms of notes and actual olfactory info, but especially the way they make one feel, with their innermost identity. I would love Nuda veritas, should I have the chance to win. The white flowers sound beautiful. From Romania. Thank you!

  • I love this kind of review, informative and down to earth. I haven’t smelled anything from the blue line yet and Riviera Drive along with the roadster sounds wonderful, but since I know my wife treasures her Iris Fauve decant, this should be the choice to win to Switzerland. Larmes du Désert is my favourite from this house. Thanks for the draw!

  • AlwaysWater says:

Those bottles really are stunning…I liked reading about the Liatris, it’s always exciting to find a new type of flower to explore! I’d love to try the Iris Fauve for that reason. USA

  • I recently discover that i really love Iris in perfumes,so i would be very happy to try Iris Fauve.Very nice and wonderfull reviews like allways.I’m from Romania.

  • What a great comprehensive review of all three scents ,the detailed descriptions and what they evoked made it as close to smell a vision as we’ve got.

I particularly loved iris fauve, as soon as gardeners mind I knew I’d love it. It epitomises something I love which is helping my mother with the gardening. The smell of the flowers as we work together. It brings me alot of happy memories.

If I won I’d choose iris fauve, I’m from Ireland.

  • Cami grusuzache says:

Nuda Veritas really impressed me for its great persistence and white flowers bouquet. It will definitly be my choice. I havent tested Ateliers des Ors before. I live in EU

  • I love Atelier Des Ors Nuda Veritas should I win. I love that it’s…”Clean, slightly crisp and opens with an invigorating rush of cool, wet, bergamot drifting on a breeze of orange blossoms”. I like that it retains 14 hours life on the skin it’s amazing qualities.
    I live in USA.

  • I love the note of Iris and Iris Fauve is appealing to me, that is why I would like to win it. This house has very interesting perfumes, I only had the opportunity to test one or two of them, but I wish I could know more. I am from Romania.

  • I love how Gail captures the delicate but lasting nature of Nuda Veritas (though I also enjoyed the mention of the British racing green MGB!). I would choose Nuda Veritas, and I live in the USA. My favorite Atelier des Ors fragrance is Choeur des Anges. Thank you!

  • Iris Fauve sounds like a great one. I am in search of an interesting fragrance centered around iris and I think this one fits the bill perfectly. I live in EU and I would pick Iris Fauve if I were to win. Thank you!

  • Thank you Gail for another detailed review and the giveaway. I love Iris, Cedar and Bergamot notes and their combo makes Iris Fauve pretty intriguing for me and it will be my choice if I win this giveaway. I like Choeur Des Anges from Atelier Des Ors. I’m in TX USA

  • I enjoyed reading about how the scent/color synesthesia inspired all three perfumes of the line. I am especially interested in Iris Fauve because I am fond of the orris root note and curious to see how it combines with the rest to create warmth. Therefore, I would love to win a bottle of Iris Fauve. I live in the USA.

  • Fantastic draw and entertaining review!
I tend to give scents colours aswell, i have smelled iris fauve and Riviera drive and the really do paint a picture!
I was intrigued by the fact that a quite white , floral scent could still be breezy and crisp after 12-14 hours? Its a rare thing and I cant wait to try nuda veritas now It would be my choice ,great name too.
    Thanks

  • I consider perfume to be liquid art. I am more concerned with what is in the bottle, but sometimes a bottle stops me in my tracks and I say “wow”. That is what I think when I see these gorgeous bottles. My Mom had a perfume with gold flecks floating in it and they take me back to that lovely bottle that sat on my Mom’s dresser years ago. Gail gives such beautiful reviews, especially about the Riviera Drive. I can almost imagine myself on that drive. My choice would be Iris Fauve mostly because it’s a CaFleurebon best of scent and I’ve recently purchased a scent with cinnamon that I’m in love with. I haven’t smelled anything from this line. Thanks for the draw. USA.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

These all sound so beautiful. I think my choice would be Riviera Drive because those herbs with the lemon just sounds so gorgeous. Iris Fauve sounds like a close second for me as I don’t think I’ve smelled an iris fragrance blended with cinnamon and I’m quite curious about that. Thank you for the review and draw. I’m in the US.

  • Each one sounds beautiful in their own ways. Of these three I’m more intrigued by the Nuda Veritas. This remark of Gails is what drew me in “clean, slightly crisp and almost spiritual in effect.” I did receive a sample of the Iris Fauve which I also thought was beautiful I do of course have a thing for Iris perfumes.

  • I have sampled Nuda Veritas and I really loved it but Gail’s review has me pining for Iris Fauve! This is the one I would love to win! I am in the US

  • I’m a long-time iris lover, so Iris Fauve would be my choice, particularly as the iris is blended with myrrh and liatris/liatrix (Trussardi Jeans is the only perfume I have with a prominent liatrix note – and I love it!). The other two fragrances also sound beautiful – particularly Riviera Drive, with its herbal aspect that would be perfect for a hot day like today! I’m in the US. Many thanks for the reviews and draw!

  • i’m a sucker for a beautiful dark note fragrance and iris fauve sound perfect. its definitely what i’d choose. i enjoyed gail’s take on each fragrance. USA

  • I have smelled 2 Atelier des Ors creations and Lune Feline is my favorite , even though Bois Sikar is pretty good too. Lune Feline is one of the few fragrances I bought the same day after initial testing. Usually I do like to sample first.
For every gourmand and vanilla lover – try it. One of the best vanilla fragrance ever created. And I know vanilla well.
Iris Fauve is my choice, notes are right up my alley. Iris vanilla, cinnamon, rosemary and bergamot. After reading Gail review I imagined myself sitting in the middle of iris field, and eating bergamot pastry cream , on top of bergamot scented cookies. Happy Pastry Chef here.
    Thanks for the fantastic opportunity
    USA

  • I am such a big fan of osmanthus, gardenia and jasmine. Nuda Veritas is right up my alley. The fact that it dries down a bit spicy is a bonus. I would love to win this one. All of the bottles/presentations are fabulous as well. Thank you for the giveaway. In the US.

  • fleurdetilleul says:

Iris Fauve sounds amazing – iris, myrrh, labdanum – but I just finished my favourite crisp white floral fragrance this summer so I’m going to enter for Nuda Veritas since it seems to have great potential to become a new summer love! I live in EU. Thank you to Atelier des Ors for being so generous and to you for offering us the opportunity to win such gems!

  • Elizabeth T. says:

Iris Fauve sounds perfect… I love iris flowers and perfumes alike, everything from the flower’s fragrance to the roots rhizomes buried in the earth. The undercurrent of sandalwood and the liatris are both elements I would love to experience in this. Thank you for sharing these with us! I’m In the USA.

  • Myrrh and sandalwood at the base of Iris Fauve sounds right up my alley. They’re all described so beautifully here but the Iris Fauve and that bearded Iris really call to me. Thank you for the review and the draw, I’m in the US.

  • Georgie Johnstone says:

I am so in love with that blue bottle of Riviera Drive and it sounds like an exhilarating ride! I have only smelled the original line and Lune Feline is my favourite and very high up on my purchase list. Greetings from Australia.

  • These all sound truly magnificent and if I won I would have a hard time choosing. The blue bottle of Riviera Drive just makes me wish for summer, while Iris Fauve is something I’ve been so intrigued by as I have come back round full circle to iris scents (Fred Malle’s Iris Poudre is what wowed me back) and now I think I’d like to try some more.

Thank you for the competition, I am in Melbourne Australia 🙂

  • IvanVelikov says:

To me Atelier Des Ors equals class , beauty and creativity , but most importantly equals Rose Omeyyade . If i have to describe it with one word it will be phenomenal. Not only it smells gorgeous , but gets me huge amount of compliments. I do not wear fragrances just for compliments , but it’s nice to be noticed .
All three gems here i’m not familiar with , and should smell equally good according to Gail Gross reviews. My choice is Iris Fauve . I feel like i’ll be able to wear it in the spring and in the autumn too , and the other two are more of a summer scents , plus i’m iris fan.
Thanks Gail – good job as usual , and of course thanks to Atelier Der Ors .
    USA

  • VerbenaLuvvr says:

I’ve been waiting impatiently since your Esxence report for the new Riviera trio in their beautiful blue bottles to become available in the US. Atelier des Ors is one of my favorite houses and Lune Feline is in my top five, so I would select Riviera Drive. I live in the US and thank you for this fantastic draw.

  • doveskylark says:

I have heard so many good things about Atelier Des Ors. I have especially heard about the amazing way their fragrances evoke places, such as the desert. Gail’s review made me very interested to try Riviera Drive. I love fragrances with herbs. And I have wanderlust to explore the south of France.
I would definitely choose Riviera Drive if I were the winner.
    I live in the USA.

  • Even though I do consider Gail Gross to be one of the best contributors on Cafleurebon, we’re not quite on the same page about Iris Fauve . Different body chemistry I guess, but I would never call Iris Fauve “fresh and transparent” or “light” . Rich , Deep and full smell is what I get. Performance is through the roof. Also my skin in the dry down turns Iris Fauve into full time balsamic gourmand .
I’d like to win a bottle of this beauty.
My gold medal for the best Atelier des Ors fragrance goes to Lune Feline, silver one to Iris Fauve and bronze to Bois Sikar.
    Thank you.
Back and forth between USA and Scotland (EU/UK) 1 week in US
-> 1 week in Scotland, and so on . Basically both US and EU/UK at the same time

  • Iris Fauve review and the fragrance itself kind of resonates with me . I feel like it’s telling me “Take a break. You need a vacation. Go to southern France, and just enjoy life for once“. And because of Gail I imagined being there for a few minutes.
And by the way I do actually consider such a trip. Don’t get how I became such a workaholic.
The new oceanic blue color scheme suits very well Riviera Collection. I still much prefer the classic look of the regular line with transparent bottle and the black cap.
Rose Omeyyade is my favorite Atelier des Ors fragrance, birthday gift I received from my sister 2 years ago. I’m wearing it on special occasions only.
Thanks to Atelier Does Ors for the opportunity, and to Gail Gross too for the idea of taking a break.
    USA

  • Thanks for another great review, Gail! I love your description of all 3 scents but I liked Iris Fauve the best – ‘Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve finishes as a breath of myrrh, an undercurrent of sandalwood and a lingering suggestion of the original realistic bloom.’ I haven’t sampled any Atelier Des Ors yet so thanks for this opportunity. – CA, USA

  • These all sound good but I’m particularly interested in trying Iris Fauve. I have and enjoy a number of iris fragrances, but none that make a point of combining iris and cinnamon. I have only previously tried Bois Sikar from this house. US.

  • Honestly all of these fragrances sound amazing and appealing. Great review of these fragrances by Gail. If I was to lean towards one of these fragrance it would be Atelier Des Ors Riviera Collection Riviera Drive as I do have an adventurous spirit. I live in USA.

  • I recently got my nose on Modoc by Xerjoff and now I’m on a mission to find other amazing iris fragrances. Iris Fauve sounds like it is top tier and the one I’d choose! Arkansas

  • I know Atelier Des Ors by name , but unfortunately i have never smelled their fragrances . I do remember Sebastian did a few Atelier Des Ors YouTube reviews , and also Redolessence .There was Rose Omeyyade mini review , and some draws on Cafleurebon a few months back.
Everyone is praising this fragrance house for a reason i presume. It’s perfect time to dig in.
Iris Fauve is my choice , if i happen to be the winner. Why ? The iris, vanilla , cinnamon and bergamot sweet, without being gourmand type of scent sounds really intriguing.
Thanks to Jean-Paul Clermont for this amazing giveaway, and Gail for his review.
USA most of the year, and Germany from time to time.

  • Hello everyone!
Thank you all so much for your compliments, comments and perspectives on these three beautiful fragrances from Atelier des Ors. And thank you for participating in this great giveaway. We are so grateful to Jean-Philippe Clermont and Megan Paki for making this possible. The draw closes on August 25, After that make sure to check back here on CaFleureBon for the announcement of the winner. Good luck all!

  • The most appealing is the Riviera Drive fragrance which is my favourite from this review. I imagined the sense of freedom created by the aromatic impression of the fresh herbs and greens. I live in Romania.

  • I have tried Iris Fauve- and I liked it. As I remember – felt fresh and delicate iris with flowers and soft musk. Beautiful. Nuda Veritas or Riviera Drive sounds very interesting. I would prefer Iris Fauve. I am from Armenia.

  • Atelier des Ors is famous for its unusual takes on popular themes. Iris Fauve has been on my radar for some time now (and it would be wonderful to win it) because it sounds like a truly gorgeous iris scent. I think of iris perfumes as litmus tests: everyone makes them, but only the few among them do it right.

Thanks for the draw. I live in Russia

  • Iris Fauve is the most appealing to me. Partially because I’ve been on an orris kick lately. But also because it sounds like it’d be a great scent for the upcoming fall and winter. I’d like that if I win.
Im in the US, in Chicago. Thanks for the draw

  • Iris Fauve sounded wonderful. Iris is one of my favorite notes and I am sure Atelier des Ors’ take on it will be flawless. I would love to win it. My favorite fragrance from them is Larmes du desert. From Finland.

  • If it’s a Best of Scent for Ca Fleure Bon, then Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve is definitely worth a try. VA, USA

  • I have samples of Lune feline and ateliers des ors musc immortelle and they are beautiful, since I love iris I would love to win iris fauve. Gail you are such s convincing writer and I love the art too
    I live in the USA

  • Thank you for reviewing these gorgeous creations from Atelier des Ors! I am most drawn to the airy feeling that all of them seem to have. I never knew there is a Liatris absolute in the composition of Iris Fauve (googled for Liatris lol).
I know and love many fragrances from Atelier des Ors, my favourites by now are Lune Feline and Larmes du Desert. I would like to win Iris Fauve, thank you for the chance! Commenting from EU.

  • The description of the Riviera Drive brings back memories of last summer’s driving through the Cotê D’Or in 30 degree C plus weather. Such a contrast to the current cool Pacific NW August days.

  • I would like to win this perfume I like the iris It is a luxurious raw material that has something celestial, I very much like the image of this brand very different from the others a hyppocampus instead of the traditional butterfly, the glitter gold in the bottle is beautiful, magical and it’s dream.I live in France,UE.

  • As a Atelier des Ors fanboy i’ve already smelled all their fragrances, including the new Riviera Collection.
If i have to rate the 3 Atelier Des Ors fragrances in this draw :

    1) Iris Fauve-one of the top 3 iris fragrances for the past 2-3 years imo. No question about it. By far the best one from the three.
    2) Riviera Drive is not you typical fresh niche summer scent like Bergamote 22 Le Labo .As much as i love Bergamote 22 , Riviera Drive is a better fragrance. It’s more complex , there’s more layers , but i would not wear it in high heat. It’s more woody, spicy and herbal , than citrusy.Combination of absinthe , patch and cedar reminds me a bit of Wolfsbane by Parfums Quartana.
    3) Nuda Veritas. Well it’s a good fragrance, but in my opinion it’s not on pair with the other two , especially with Iris Fauve.

In my collection there’s two Atelier Cologne fragrances – Rose Omeyyade , and Bois Sikar. Love both equally.
No doubt about it, I’d like to win a bottle of Iris Fauve.
Thank you Cafleurebon and Atelier Des Ors for this fantastic draw !

Riviera Drive sounds delightfully summery, and the imagery here makes me wish I too was in the MGB roadster (in my favorite color!) zipping along down the seaside cliffs. The herbal freshness sounds so appealing for the heat and humidity! Iris Fauve also sounds incredible- a photorealistic iris, cool and dusty and soft with light spices, would be perfect for spring or fall. Of the two that sound wonderful to me, I would choose Iris Fauve. I have never tried a fragrance from Atelier des Ors before! I am in the US 🙂

  • I’ve never tried any of the Atelier d’Ors fragrances but i read numerous reviews and they’re always showing in the best of each year.
For me the one that grabbed my attention is Riviera Drive! The description of driving and just smelling the air filled with lemons and herbs is simply amazing. I close my eyes and imagine being there. I love fresh scents because i live in a place where most of the year is warm and sunny.
And of course I’d love to win Riviera Drive and I live in the US

Ahhhhhh, you gotta love fragrance done right. And that’s why I’d like to get my nose on Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve. What I liked about the fragrance, was the combination of notes (everyone of them), especially the “velvety-spiced blend” of cinnamon, bergamot, orris and Liatris (sounds like they would be good ingredients in a cake). And, along with the other notes, its going to make me one of the most powerful smelling persons in the world! Hmmm… better start working on my theme song….

  • I’ve never tried a fragrance from this line but I always stop and admire the bottles when I see them pictured online. I would pick Iris Fauve to win because your description reels me despite the fact that I am not usually an iris fan. The promise of a velvety perfume brought into focus by sprightly bergamot is always nice. Myyrh, cinnamon, and even liatris? Yes please. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the US.

Gail, great review of Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve, Riviera Drive, and Nuda Veritas. I think I would enjoy the fresh, summer, and aromatic feel of Riviera Drive. I would also enjoy Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve because I do enjoy Iris based fragrances and the note breakdown of Iris Fauve sounds good. If I had to choose I would go with the safe fresh fragrance Riviera Drive. I am from the USA.

  • I love iris perfumes and Iris Fauve is one of the best I know. Would love to win it. I live in the EU.

  • Gail’s review was excellent! I love that their fragrances are created from precious essences and exclusive raw materials, presented in glimmering sunburst patterned glass bottles, flecks of 24 K gold leaf floating in many of the perfumes. My favorite part was: “As Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve dries down, bergamot adds a bit of sparkling tang to the spiced flowers, giving an uplifting, cozy sensuality to the composition. Atelier Des Ors Iris Fauve finishes as a breath of myrrh, an undercurrent of sandalwood and a lingering suggestion of the original realistic bloom.” If I were lucky enough to win, Iris Fauve would be my choice. Thanks for the giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Awesome review Gail! All three perfumes sound delicious, but Riviera Drive sounds like the one I would most enjoy, so if I’m chosen I would pick Riveira Drive. I’m in the U.S.
