Trish McEvoy Intense Gel Eyeliner
I love black eye pencils to tight line and only use black in my waterline. But they don’t love always me back. I have a drawer full of black pencils that I used once or twice but never again; they tugged, bled, smudged or transferred. I have been using Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof All Eyeliner for years for both the waterline and lashline. It is near perfect but the color needs to be reapplied a few times during the day. I haven’t had much luck with gel pencils, which tend to smudge all over the place, until I tried Trish McEvoy Intense Gel Eye Liner.
Trish McEvoy hasn’t been on my radar for years. I had a planner in the late 1990s and moved on. When applied the Intense gel Eyeliner in my waterline, the color payoff is incredible; Black… very black. The texture of the gel pencil is creamy, smooth and glides on effortlessly. The formula is also waterproof, did not transfer and I did not have to reapply or touch up for five hours. The gel formula is also great for rimming the eyes and mimics kohl. It can be smudged before it sets for a soft winged eye or for a smoky look. I recommend using a Pre Cleanse product, like Dermalogica when removing.
Verdict: There is the shimmer issue. Although it is slight, I like a matte finish and prefer sticks to pencils. It did need sharpening after each use and I couldn’t achieve a thin line without using a brush. I had no problem using it in my waterline; no itching, no tearing.
