Three female powerhouses of style and  fragrance have joined forces to bring a new retail concept to Los Angeles.

Original Scent is the avant-garde store, and the brainchild of Nicole Winnaman, Entertainment Branding Agent; Marley Majcher, Celebrity Event Planner; and perfumer Sarah Horowitz.  

Sarah Horowitz-Thran and the staff of Original Scent will help customers create their own unique scent that can be captured in many forms- including perfume, scented stationary or even in a candle.  Horowitz is joining two other powerhouse female entrepreneurs for this venture: Nicole Winnaman is a premier entertainment branding agent whose clients include Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres and Fergie. Marley Majcher is founder of The Party Goddess!, a celebrity party planning firm with clients such as Pierce Brosnan, Sofia Vergara and Gwyneth Paltrow.

According to Sarah Horowitz Thran, “The heart of the store is custom blending and will be focused on the custom blending of candles and fine fragrance. The customers will be meeting with jr perfumers that I am training to conduct a mini version of the fragrance journey. Very personal, but more condensed. We will have mostly single note fragrances on the bar so they will be very user friendly, with many of them being nature identical. We will also have a SMALL selection of essential oils. Our trained perfumers and identifiable individual notes will set this blending bar apart. Our team had to take my class, and understands that it is my philosophy of fragrance being the by part of the experience we share, that by being fully present for the creation of their fragrance, creates meaning in their scent for them – and a powerful connection to themselves. That is why we are doing this and that is what our staff will strive to convey”.

 The store will also have a small retail section where we are honored to be featuring the Apothia Collection by Ron Robinson, as well as my own Perfect and Within collections, and fragrances by Loree Rodkin, Sage Machado, and others. We are also carrying a small assortment of jewelery as well as some of my FAVORITE books, including the book Perfume by Patrick Suskind, A Perfect Scent by Chandler Burr, Essence and Alchemy by Mandy Aftel, Coming to my Senses by Alyssa Hassad to name a few.

 

The Grand Opening/Launch of Original Scent is at the Nikki West Boutique in Pasadena, California from 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, March 14. Joining them will be Winemaker Sonja Magdevski, who owns Casa Dumetz Winery in Malibu with her partner Emilio Estevez. She will be pouring her exquisite wines while they create your custom fragrance.
