Over the past five years, we have a tradition  to promote  niche perfume boutiques on Small Business Saturday. The idea for our series We Love This Store  began with our support for small business owners as did one of our most read articles of the year, Running a Niche Perfume Store (which featured  the owners of eight small fragrance boutiques . It has been the coldest Thanksgiving on record in New York City since 1901, so let’s travel  to Miami where it is  a balmy 80 degrees to visit Osme Perfumery on Small Business Saturday, November 24, 2018.- Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

"Shop small with us at Osme ! We will be offering 20% off of select our brands that we have curated for Small Business Saturday. Brands on sale range from Mark Buxton ( a master perfumer who has created for Comme Des Garcons),  to Baruti, to Liquidies Imaginaries, and many more. Shopping small with Osme Perfumery is a one of a kind experience. Our curation of fragrances from around the world allows us to bring brands that otherwise would be inaccessible to most to our boutique in Miami. The interaction you will receive will be invaluable. It’s important to us that we not only help you find the perfume you are looking for but that you come back down the road to find the next one.  This one-on-one fragrance fitting brings you back to an era when selecting a scent was a special event and was individualized to your personality and tastes."

Our in-depth knowledge of not only the fragrances but also the story and perfumers behind them allow you to become invested in the perfume you are purchasing as well as Osme Perfumery. We like to understand the client and what notes and styles they prefer and then we like to push people outside of their boundaries to help expand their taste. Again, it’s not about pushing the newest product but truly finding a product that fits and helping clients understand how fragrances work and how it can impact them day to day. This attention to detail and the time it takes to learn a client’s profile will not be found at a big box store. We are not aligned only to one brand which allows us the ability to find the style that someone prefers.

Our passion of fragrances and how it’s impacted us in our personal life resonates through our business. Not only do we love what we do but we love how it impacts our clients and the one on one relationships we have built since we started this business. Come visit us  today for these exclusive deals."

  • I shop my local small businesses throughout the year. There’s nothing like personal service.I would choose a fragrance from Mendittorosa, or “Baba Yaga”. USA

  • Neighborhood shops are the best. You also get to know the store owners and have a comfortable feeling about where you live. I would choose
    OMEGA (EDP)
MENDITTOROSA if I win. Thank you for the chance. I live in the USA.

  • I like to shop small because I like community and local goods. I feel that the prices are better or the cost of shipping goes to better quality.

The small business Saturday helps me find new ideas, connections and fragrances.

I think I would buy Arabians (EDP) Montale. I have never shopped at osme yet, but I will in the future now.

  • Generally speaking I shop small for customer service and the appreciation for my purchase whatever the size. Should I win who knows, I would rather the fun of crossing that bridge with gift in hand. US

  • I always prefer to give my business (money) to small businesses. With few exceptions, the service is better and more personal and friendlier. It makes shopping a lot more pleasant. Small Business Saturday is good for helping discover new fragrance places. That is how I came to order samples from Osme Perfumery and discovered Verano Porteño by Frassai which I would probably buy a bottle of should I win. It’s lovely! USA.

  • I prefer to shop small to support local businesses and community. I have found the the customer service is better, face-to-face interaction is great, and it feels good to be remembered and taken care of like someone important no matter what your budget is. I am in the US. I would buy something from Baruti, but then they also have a good selection of home fragrance and body products too.

  • Miami would be a great place to shop this week!! I love small shops, much friendlier and more knowledgeable staff. I love my local perfume shops, always something new. I was traveling on the small shop Saturday, so didn’t get the chance to shop. I am excited to visit OSME this spring when I fly into Fort Lauderdale for spring break! I’d save the gift care for my trip and see what they would recommend. USA.

  • I love to shop small because I like to help business grow anyway I can. The shops genuinely care about you compared to big stores.
I’ll buy a gift for my dad if I win.

  • I #shopsmall because of the customer experience. You don’t get a great experience at large retailers in my opinion. Small Business Saturday means going fighting for the little guy and getting great service while you do it. I would purchase lots of niche samples that I’ve been dying to get my hands on! USA

  • I shop small because of the customer service and it keeps the money in the community. My neighborhood shops know me better than any of the big stores ever could and they always throw in little extras too. I haven’t purchased from OSME before, but I have my eye on something by Initio if I were to win. Thanks for the draw and I live in the US! 🙂

  • Ooh I’m so in, I love shopping with Osme and I’ve never been to Miami but personal relationship customer service and a business run with the “blood, sweat, & tears” of the very present owners means everything to me. Small businesses are incredibly valuable to our way of life. Also, Osme carries lines that I haven’t found available in the US anywhere else. Should I win – I’ve got my eye on Frassai but can’t decide Tian Di or Teisenddu? Thank you for the generous drawing! #shopsmall

  • Niche perfumery is one of the few remaining areas of commerce that hasn’t been completely overtaken/exploited by big corporations. Happy to have a number of truly small business gems like Osme to support. If I win, I think I will try something from a house that I haven’t yet tested at all: Majda Bekkali.

  • I prefer shopping small because I can think of the dreams of the people behind the business. I know the hard work involved in running a small business. I know the joys and frustrations.
If I were the winner. I might choose 811 Absoluto by Giovanna Antonelli.
    I live in the USA.

  • I like shopping small in support of individuals instead of big impersonal companies. I’ve not had the chance to visit the storefront, but have perused their site. Should I win, I would use this toward a sample pack or something by imaginary authors, probably one of the scents high lighted in the perfumology posts, they all sounded so nice! I’m in the us, thank you for the draw!

  • It’s crucial to shop small! It’s the only way to retain the Human aspect of shopping – customer service and knowledge by the merchant are something that cannot be duplicated from a website. Small business Saturday creates and fosters connections and a sense of community that is so invaluable in our society! I am trying to teach my kids that, even in this age of technology. If I won, I would absolutely get a MDCI – La Belle Helene, Nuit Andalouse, or Vepres Siciliennes! Thanks for this chance!

  • I shop small because sometimes just getting “the best deal” at a big box retailer or online giant doesn’t get you the best stuff or the best experience. Sometimes you want the unique artisan creation and not the focus group approved best-seller, and sometimes you want a personal touch in the purchasing or customer service experience! This Small Business Saturday I got some indie skincare, and before the holiday season is out I’ll be paying a trip to some local boutiques, and probably at some point indulging in a perfume to treat myself. If I won the Osme giveaway I would be making my first purchase from that stop, and I’d need a minute to choose between Ormonde Woman and Frassai Teisenddu. Thanks for the stellar draw and for promoting #shopsmall.

  • I shop small business because my dad and mom and my in laws have both owned small businesses. Additionally living in a smaller community you get to know the owners of those small business on a personal basis. If I were chosen I would probably choose something from Amouage.

  • Thank goodness for small, independent fragrance shops. It really is a labor of love and we should do all we can to support them. I hope I visit Miami again soon so I can shop at Osme all hopped up on Cuban coffees!!!
