Cacao Beans apped by M.C
2x Art and Olfaction Finalist in the Independent Category, Perris Monte Carlo is known for their transportive scents of place and olfactive journeys. The new Cacao Aztèque is time travel back to 1400 B.C. and the Aztec civilization, where cacao was thought to be a gift from the gods. The seeds were used as currency and ground into drinks for their aphrodisiacal and hallucinogenic properties.
Gian Luca Perris , Creative Director of Perris Monte Carlo
With Cacao Aztèque, a new addition to the Black Collection, Gian Luca Perris (Creative Director) and Mathieu Nardin of Robertet (perfumer) had a clear vision of cacao which is true to the ancient culture. It is not the Western idea of “chocolate” in perfumery … this doesn’t smell like a Kit-Kit bar nor is it particularly gourmand.

Cacao Aztèque is reviewed by Sr. Contributor Sebastian Jara of Smelling Great whose keen nose picks up the pittosporum in the heart; a note not commonly used in perfume (and has a lemony jasmine floral scent).-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief
