Parfumerie Generale Suede Osmanthe 5.1 (Pierre Guillaume) 2017- New Fragrance “Reworking L’Eau de Circe”

Pierre Guillaume

One of my favorite fragrances from Pierre Guillaume’s catalogue is L’Eau de Circe, created in 2005. It was the first Parfumerie Generale I bought for myself and I wear it to this day.  From time to time, Pierre Guillaume revisits a fragrance from earlier years and “reinterprets" it. This season; he revisits the theme of osmanthus with an aldehydic, floral, delicately leathery composition… and  using his own olfactive magic, he does so without a drop of osmanthus in the new Suede Osmanthe 5.1.

"Floral, fruity with apricot and leather facets, the scent of osmanthus was matched with the sandalwood and plum." For Suede Osmanthe 5.1, M.Guillaume composed a cocktail of floral aldehydes and black tea leaves. He wrapped the leather note of Suederal@ with fleshy apricot to create an illusion of osmanthus.

Notes: Aldehydes, black tea leaves, Suederal@. Apricot, cashmeran@ and musk

  • Oh, I can’t wait… I am on such an osmanthus kick of late, and I have really enjoyed his reworks.

  • I’ve never had the chance to try L’Eau de Circe, but this reworking sounds great! I’ve been specifically trying to track down Pierre Guillaume scents lately (my favorite so far is the sadly discontinued Bois de Copaiba!) and now I have another to add to the list!
