Brooklyn based natural perfumer Irina Adam of Phoenix Botanicals is a flower in the concrete jungle. From somewhere within the borough she is busy collecting the best botanical ingredients from around the globe, and surprisingly- around the corner to produce the impressive lineup Phoenix Botanicals offers- from perfume to herbal skincare. Phoenix Botanicals are hand blended with princess and the pea like perfection from almost entirely organic materials.  sustainable, small business with talent and heart at the helm- Irina obviously puts much care and thought into everything offered. All products are “Bee-gan” – meaning there is local, small farm beeswax in some products. 10% of profits are donated to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Catherine La Rose  Kirsty Mitchell

Bed of Roses was inspired by “… sleeping on scattered Wild Rose petals after all day oceanside harvests…” and with five different rose oils, infused wild rose petals – the rush of petals upon application is 100% real and like the mind altering introduction to your first drug… sugar, good shoes, crack, chocolate, gambling, romance… roses. If anyone ever wondered why a real rose is irreplaceable and irreplicable- if anyone ever wondered why natural perfume has more dedicated junkies than Breaking Bad: smell this.

Wonderland Series by Kristy Mitchell  The beautiful Blindness of devotion

It's the giggling, rolling in the sheets, I-can't-believe-i-did-it-again / I-can't-wait-to-do-it-again scent of innocence and what's just innocent fun… and could ultimately lead to serious addiction. Mixing pure botanicals with unadulterated sensuality- under the covers of this rose affair is an outline of a chypre from a collection of indulgent notes:  champaca, an exotic and narcotic tinge, indolic jasmine and the dusted carnation giving body and nuance to the roses while carrying us from flower head toward stalk and ground… or simply pulling us down the rabbit hole.

wonderland the fade of fallen memories

Wonderland Series Kristy Mitchell The Fade of Fallen Memories

Oakmoss and vetiver, the classic combo, are charming angelica into a dry down which act as a beautiful moss and earth accord, but also  warning… a signal you are awakening. The dreaming of sleeping in a bed of roses is passing; another fix has held back it's fair share of reality. Following the base notes into nothing but the scent of your own skin is almost too much to bear and so another round of red rushing roses is applied and you can go back to your reverie of nights spent on a Bed of Roses.

Notes: Champaca, Violet, Neroli, 5 Roses, Jasmine, Carnation, Angelica, Vetiver, Oakmoss, infused Wild Rose petals

-Einsof, Natural Perfume Editor

  • I’m so excited if American perfumers decide that a draw is for USA and International readers both. It seems so rare nowadays. Mostly I cannot enter these draws, and I really would love to try these pure organic perfumes, which seem to be more common in USA. So thank you Phoenix Botanicals for deciding this ♡♡♡. It’s very much appreciated.

As said I’m a huge fan of organic perfumes, but I’m also a big fan of roses in perfumes and Bed of Roses sounds absolutely delicious.

I live in the Netherlands. Thank you again for this awesome draw!

  • I have mentioned in other reviews too, I am a rose junkie so you can imagine my joy when I read this lovely review and the description of Bed of Roses inspired by “… sleeping on scattered Wild Rose petals after all day oceanside harvests…”
A smell infused with 5 different rose oils all organic, pure and natural make this perfume a hit in my list and for sure an “irreplaceable” one. I love the sensitivity and the innocence that rose smells evoke.
I live in EU and I thank you both for the review and for the lovely trip to the fantastic world of roses with the amazing pictures attached to it.

  • I think Bed of Roses is a fabulous perfume. From the review it sounds beautifully. I love the scent of the rose. And I think, that the naturally perfumes are the best. So I would very, very like to win that wonderful perfume.
    I live in Europe.

  • The review and note breakdown of bed of roses is right up my alley (as are most competently composed rose fragrances). I have to say that what I am most intrigued about is how the rose(s) interacts with the oakmoss base.

I am in the US. Thanks for the draw.

  • Hannah Hulett says:

I live in Hood River, Oregon in the Columbia river gorge.
I would love to experience a bottle of Bed Of Roses perfume because I have been following Phoenix Botanicals on social media and dying to try her products, especially rose featured. I have started a natural perfumery apprenticeship this year and my inspiration cup is full to the brim! My nose seeks out the work of experienced perfumers but my pocketbook cant keep up as it has been a year full of loss, greif, and stress. My heart longs for the sweet comforting hug that i imagine this earthy floral perfume to be.

  • I am still looking for a rose perfume that is magical for me. With a name like Bed of Roses, this could be it. In the US.

  • Why: It sounds beautiful, I’m a perfume addict, and I just spent 17 nights in hospital with internal bleeding, away from my 11m baby and other children, I lost 1/3 of my kidney, a new perfume would cheer me up a little while I recover!

  • I live on Long Island.
I would LOVE to try Bed of Roses> Based on the notes it sounds very intoxicating. We have had a cold, snowy winter and I need to be reminded that eventually spring will be here.

  • Why would I love to win this? Because I love champaca and carnation and neroli and vetiver and okamoss- so many lovely notes!- and I want to see how they all play together in a rose based perfume.

  • Hello,

I live in NYC. And it is so cold today that we cannot smell ANYTHING. A nice dose of BED OF ROSES would certainly perk me and my loved ones up!

  • All those beautiful beautiful roses! That is my reason 😉
I’m in the US. Thanks for the draw!

  • Love roses – would love to try this perfume. I like that it’s organic – and that some profits are donated. I’m in the US. Thanks!

  • I love the way roses make me feel — sleepy and a little bit drunk. That’s the way I think a rose scent should make me feel, too. I can’t grow roses for anything, and I have tried for years… but I do grab anything I can find that smells of rose!

    US resident. Thank you!

  • I am from Malaysia and I wpuld love to win this as I have been searching everywhere for a rose scent that would rival the preformulated Stella Mccartney EDP.

  • I’m in the UK and I’m a rose fan – I’ve also tried several of Irina’s perfumes and love them, particularly Lavender Noir and Meadow and Fir, but I’ve never tried this one and would love to win it.

Thanks very much for the draw.

  • Perfect timing! I just discovered Phoenix Botanicals on etsy today and was searching for reviews when I came across this post. I’m a lover of rose, so of course this one really caught my eye. 🙂 Thanks so much for the draw! I’m in the US.

  • To lay in a “Bed of Roses” rings thru to my core! I can only imagine that Irina’s Bed of Roses when opened, smelled & applied, takes us to a mysterious place where we can feel ourselves softly allured into a magical rose-land full of scent~sation! I live in Sonoma County, California.

  • I love the smell of fresh garden roses . It’s so heart opening. I’d love a bottle. It connects me to love and and spring and longing and reminds me of my younger magical days. i live in San Francisco CA.

  • Recently discovered my interest in all natural fragrances and have an enthusiasm to test any natural perfumes. I live in Iran

  • The sound of an almost innocent rose chypre is echoeing in my head! Moreover, sleeping in rose-petals laid bed is a dream to be fulfilled for me!.
Thank you for the chance! I live in Bulgaria (EU).

  • I live in Spain (EU)

Why I want to try Bed of roses? well, you say: “If anyone ever wondered why a real rose is irreplaceable and irreplicable- if anyone ever wondered why natural perfume has more dedicated junkies than Breaking Bad: smell this.”. Do I need to say more? If this is half that good, it’s going to be my new rose-obsession.

    Thank you for the draw!
