Irina Adam lying in a bed of roses
Brooklyn based natural perfumer Irina Adam of Phoenix Botanicals is a flower in the concrete jungle. From somewhere within the borough she is busy collecting the best botanical ingredients from around the globe, and surprisingly- around the corner to produce the impressive lineup Phoenix Botanicals offers- from perfume to herbal skincare. Phoenix Botanicals are hand blended with princess and the pea like perfection from almost entirely organic materials. sustainable, small business with talent and heart at the helm- Irina obviously puts much care and thought into everything offered. All products are “Bee-gan” – meaning there is local, small farm beeswax in some products. 10% of profits are donated to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary.
Catherine La Rose Kirsty Mitchell
Bed of Roses was inspired by “… sleeping on scattered Wild Rose petals after all day oceanside harvests…” and with five different rose oils, infused wild rose petals – the rush of petals upon application is 100% real and like the mind altering introduction to your first drug… sugar, good shoes, crack, chocolate, gambling, romance… roses. If anyone ever wondered why a real rose is irreplaceable and irreplicable- if anyone ever wondered why natural perfume has more dedicated junkies than Breaking Bad: smell this.
Wonderland Series by Kristy Mitchell The beautiful Blindness of devotion
It's the giggling, rolling in the sheets, I-can't-believe-i-did-it-again / I-can't-wait-to-do-it-again scent of innocence and what's just innocent fun… and could ultimately lead to serious addiction. Mixing pure botanicals with unadulterated sensuality- under the covers of this rose affair is an outline of a chypre from a collection of indulgent notes: champaca, an exotic and narcotic tinge, indolic jasmine and the dusted carnation giving body and nuance to the roses while carrying us from flower head toward stalk and ground… or simply pulling us down the rabbit hole.
Wonderland Series Kristy Mitchell The Fade of Fallen Memories
Oakmoss and vetiver, the classic combo, are charming angelica into a dry down which act as a beautiful moss and earth accord, but also warning… a signal you are awakening. The dreaming of sleeping in a bed of roses is passing; another fix has held back it's fair share of reality. Following the base notes into nothing but the scent of your own skin is almost too much to bear and so another round of red rushing roses is applied and you can go back to your reverie of nights spent on a Bed of Roses.
Notes: Champaca, Violet, Neroli, 5 Roses, Jasmine, Carnation, Angelica, Vetiver, Oakmoss, infused Wild Rose petals
