 Olfactive Studio Flashback

If you follow our Creative Directors in Perfumery Series, we gave you a sneak peak at Celine Verleure’s fifth  perfume for Olfactive Studio called Flashback.  Flashback is a collaboration between avant garde artist Laurent Segretier and Master Firmenich perfumer Olivier Cresp (Celine worked with M. Cresp at Kenzo early in her career). At the January 2013 Elements Showcase, a quick spritz on the wrists for Mark and me was enough for us to start counting the days for its release.

According to Celine Verleure: "I like Olivier Cresp very much and enjoyed working with him 18 years ago for the launch of l'Eau par Kenzo. Since then, we had lunch together once in a while. I love how he creates very fresh and citrus fragrances and I wanted a new fragrance fresher than the previous ones but with a common woody-spicy base."

A tangy and vibrant fragrance, Flash Back is an olfactory reminiscence: tangy and slightly green rhubarb mixed with hesperides revives an enveloping childhood smell: that of rhubarb tart. A base note of vetiver and cedar give it woody sensuality.

Top notes: Rhubarb, Grapefruit, Orange

Middle notes: Pink pepper, Granny Smith Apple

Base notes: Vetiver, Cedar, Amber, Musks

The Olfactive Studio line will debut at Bergdorf Goodman in mid-March, 2013

  • A friend of mine spent the entire month of February (and now March!) scented in Autoportrait so I KNOW that this perfume house is really great! Flashback sounds fantastic…love rhubarb..the tarter the better!
