Anyone who follows me on Facebook, knows of my love of Old Hollywood photos, movies and glamour. Which is why I am  looking forward to  Sunset Boulevard, the first perfume released by Jessica Hannah, who is an Art  and Olfaction  Award  winner (Skive)  2015. Sunset Blvd is a natural perfume inspired by Billy Wilder’s 1950 film classic about a has-been silent picture diva who schemes to return to the big screen. The perfume is a dramatic oriental with notes of rose, yuzu, cinnamon, patchouli, and tonka bean. Jessica is drawn to classic films and was fascinated with the idea of how Norma’s dressing room might smell.

“I studied film in college and I am particularly intrigued by the classics. Sunset Blvd’s main character, Norma Desmond, possesses the most luxurious things, but sadly they are fading away,” Hannah says. “My intention for this perfume is to capture a brightness in the spicy citrus top that mellows to a floral powdery finish. As if you were in the dressing room of the great Norma Desmond, with all her drama, pride, and sadness. She is like a gorgeous wilting flower.”

I am getting ready for my closeup…

.125 oz /$40 and 1 ounce /$120

  • I love these words: …”with all her drama, pride, and sadness. She is like a gorgeous wilting flower.”

I am also a lover of classic films. I got the opportunity to smell this creation last month and it is spicy, dramatic, and beautiful.

    Congratulations, Jessica!!

  • I will have to check this out. I have fond memories of my Grandma, my brother and I cruising down Sunset Blvd. in the late 60’s. I still have Grandma (97 now), but sadly she would not remember. The notes sound delightful!!

  • I’ve been craving cinnamon lately, but would never have thought to pair it with rose and yuzu – these notes sound so interesting!
