New Niche Perfume: Mistral Patchouli Atelier Cologne Absolue “Sets Sail January 2012”

A  few months ago Managing Editor Mark Behnke could not stop raving about  "the next Atelier Cologne", so we sent Contributor Michael Devine  to  a sneak preview of the new Atelier Cologne Absolue Mistral Patchouli at  the Atelier Cologne Boutique in New York City. Like Mark, Michael was swept away by the soon to debut new fragrance signed by Jerome Epinette.

Just as they could not stop the winds from blowing;

nor could they stay apart any longer.They left everything behind, but they were together fearless and free.

They laughed in the sea salt air and shared a final moment on land

before setting sail under a luminous sky.

In addition to a fractionated patchouli at the base, a natural star anise note lends a salt on skin aroma.

Top Notes: Pomelo from Florida, black pepper from  Madacascar, Star Anise fro China

Heart Notes: Iris from Morocco, incense from Somalia, geranium from Egypt

Base Notes: fraction of Patchouli from Indonesia, benjoin from Laos, vetiver from Haiti

The range:

Cologne Absolue 15% is available in 200ml ($185) and 30 ml($70),candle($48) and soap ($18)

For our French readers, be sure to stop by the new Atelier Boutique in Paris for an opportunity to preview and buy a limited amount of bottles on Decemebr 13, 2012

If Mistral Patchouli sounds like it could sweep you away, please leave a comment because as they say …you never know.
