One of the world’s greatest independent perfumers and chemist, Pierre Guillaume, celebrated the 8th year of his lauded line of Parfumerie Generale  in 2010 and introduced Huitième Art Parfums with eight fragrances (he honored former blogger Octavian Coifan of 1000 Fragrances by naming the new line  in recognition of Octavian’s concept that perfumery is the eighth artistic discipline). Huitième Art Parfums is an evolution that heralds the 21st century as an age of both artistic and technological discovery, introducing the concept of phyto perfumery while discarding the traditional olfactive pyramid.  The 11th fragrance in the line is named Monsieur and will be introduced next month at Pitti in Florence.

“It is in the heart of the Massif des "Bois Noirs", where torrents and waterfalls from Auvergne’s mountains carry along scents of moss, bark, wood, earth, humus and stone, that M. Guillaume drew inspiration for this perfume.

A harmonious blend of eight woody notes entwined with crushed leaves splashed by the mineral freshness of water spurting out of the rock, "Monsieur" is a rich, powerful fragrance that is both complex and vibrant with an extremely organic sensuality.

Family: Dry Woods

Notes: Essences of Patchouli, Cedarwood, Vetiver and Sandalwood, Absolute of Poplar, Absolute of Mousse de Chene, Oakmoss, Incense Wood and Papyrus”
