Le Parfum Couture Denis Durand for M. Micallef

The flacon is drool worthy and I don’t care if you think bottles don’t matter, but it is stunning … hand sewn delicate Chantilly black lace adorned with a little satin bow and a golden medal with the initials of the two artists.

Head Notes: Ceylon cinnamon, Italy tangerine

Heart Notes: Bulgarian rose, orange blossoms, honey and animalis (oud?)

Base Notes: sandalwood, patchouly, amber and white musk.

 50 ml EDP/ Retail price: $190

April 2013 at Osswald NYC and will be rolled out to American stockists in May

Editor’s Note: I have just learned that animalis is not oud but an accord containing labdanum & castoreum. There is no oud in this fragrance 3/28/2013

    What a gorgeous flacon!
any purring beast is a friend of mine. I wonder if cinnamon will roar and bite a bit of my neck at first spray or if it will only purrrrrr gently and sleepy
    xx

  • That sounds (and looks) magnificent. I can’t wait to hear more and to get my nose on it myself.

The scent is intriguing…but the BEST is the black Chantilly lace, satin bow, gold initialed medal bottle…that I would want in my list of favorite things. Fabulous/snap!

  • I am intrigued! That bottle is dark and sexy, and the
    notes…wow, I can’t wait to smell this!

  • i could not agree more:
    honey and oud = feral.
all of which are right up my alley 🙂

  • The bottle is sooo nice. I like ALL the ingredients and even the Oud which I find sometimes too intrusive seems to be not so in this one (I mean the “? ” after the Oud word)

  • Gorgeous bottle and I love cinnamon. The problem is every time I read the phrase ‘sLinky beast’, I keep reading it as sTinky beast!

  • That is the prettiest bottle I’ve seen in a long time, and I’m generally not fussed on perfume packaging. Insides sound pretty too. 🙂

  • This sounds gorgeous and the bottle is so pretty, then again M. Micallef has very pretty bottles for their fragrances.

  • Cinnamon as a top note is intriguing. I’m not as wowed by the bottle. I am still lusting for the Ylang in Gold bottle!

  • whoa, I love that black lace! Bottles are definitely a part of overall feeling, they ‘set the mood’–and that mood is purring and slinky. I like the picture (ad, above) with that lace-adorned hand…

Don’t know about tangerine and white musk on me but I love all the other listed notes!

  • Fab flacon! Yes, it does matter (see Dom/ Cristal). Certainly a visit is in order to see what it’s all about!

  • That’s so sexy! Cinnamon, tangerine, rose and orange blossom anchored by a bit of smut? Love it.

  • Completely agree with all on the bottle…stunning!
and I like the notes…especially the labdanum/castoreum combo.

I’m not usually one to be taken with a bottles design, I really just care about the smell of the juice inside. But that is one beautiful bottle, it actually LOOKS like the kind of fragrance I would love- a very unusual reaction on my part.
