New Fragrances: Reinventing Courrèges “Patchouli Perfumes Redoux”

from 1969…Really! 

Recently there has been a revival of Fragrance houses  hoping to reinvent themselves to a modern audience.

The latest is the legendary House of Courrèges, created by designer Andre Courrèges and was one of the iconic fashion brands of the 1960s. The designs were futuristic and some say M. Courrèges invented the mini skirt.

The brand was acquired by two former ad executives, Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Tortoling.  Now, a trio of fragrances are available to purchase on their website and at Colette: a new one, called Blanc de Courrèges created by Julie Massé (Mane), with iris and patchouli, and reformulations of the older chypre fragrances, including the much loved  Empreinte  with mega patchouli (chypre leather created in 1971) and Eau de Courrèges (citrus chypre).

In keeping with the 60s vibe, Patchouli will be an olfactory signature of the brand. Galeries Lafayette Haussmann which will also introduce an exclusive Rose de Courrèges.

Blanc de Courrèges: litchi pulp, pink pepper ,iris  petals, iris absolute, heliotrope and rose from the Grass and Turkey. Modern white patchouli, blonde woods, white amber, orris root and white musk
