Fragrances that are inspired by celebrities are not unusual. Truth be told they are usually mindless, soul-less commercial scents that the famous personality is not involved with. It is always the interaction and involvement of the perfumers and celebrity, the quality of material and attention to detail that can differentiate a “celebuscent” from an artistic perfume.
Courtoismourot is a new haute perfume company based in Paris whose inaugural collection of three niche fragrances was inspired the famous Brazilian actress Giovanna Antonelli. Co-founder Lionel Guignard’s partner Edson Fernandes, a designer met Giovanna Antonelli in Brazil and “fell in love” with her spirit. Although she has turned down every other beauty project, her love of perfume and her desire to be involved in a fragrance collection that used only the finest ingredients, all created by world renowned noses (Julie Masse, Cecile Matton and Mathilde Bijaoui of Mane) and reflected her passion, was the reason that she accepted. Working closely with Mane, each perfume is a facet of Giovanna.

INSPIRATION: TRIBUTE TO THE ROYAL PALACE: This eau de parfum was inspired by the Palais- Royal, a landmark of Parisian life, “a little” suranne, where still float the spirits of Molière, Colette, Cocteau and yet violently contemporary still float … La Comédie Française, the romantic gardens and the shops of yesterday and today sheltered under arcades in row. It is one of the most charming corners of the city of light, naturally chic, without ostentation.

As for the number 11 in each name, it is Giovanna’s favorite number. It has always been around in her life and since the start she wanted the number to be associated to her scented adventure. It symbolizes joy, love, “abundancia” (in Portuguese), happiness and luck.
