New Fragrance: Shay & Blue Salt Caramel – A Collaboration with Charbonnel et Walker Chocolates

salt caramel shay and blue

Creative Director and founder Dom De Vetta and perfumer Julie Massé of Shay & Blue might just have created the ultimate gourmand fragrance that will whet the palate of both perfumistas and chocoholics. Salt Caramel, which will be released in September 2014, is inspired by Charbonnel et Walker’s ‘Sea Salt Caramel Truffles’. For those of us across the pond, Charbonnel et Walker chocolates are handcrafted in England, by appointment to Her Majesty The Queen.

TOP NOTES: Liquid caramel on the nose, expertly off-set with tangy sea salt.

HEART NOTES: The smoothness of tonka bean adding a touch of elegance in the heart.

BASE NOTES:Refined bourbon vanilla for depth in the base with sandalwood a woodsy counterpoint to the sweetness.

Yes, I am salivating, not very ladylike, but true.

Available in 100 ml and 30 ml travel spray/ 55 Euros and 30 Euros respectively

Who wouldn’t salivate dear Michelyn with such a gourmand (caramel, tonka and vanilla notes) smell?

  • Usually Tonka bean is a base note, so I’m wondering how it will smell being in the heart . It sounds quite lovely though. I do love a salty caramel.

Yum! I discovered Jo Malone’s limited edition fragrance collection Sugar & Spice in the spring of 2013 and quickly scooped up the five dessert-inspired fragrances signed by perfumer Christine Nagel (Lemon Tart, Redcurrant & Cream, Elderflower & Gooseberry, Ginger Biscuit and Bitter Orange & Chocolate). Ever since, I’ve enjoyed “sweets” scents and am anxious to try this one.
