New Fragrance: Parfumerie Générale PG 22 DjHenné

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Parfumerie Générale, Pierre Guillaume, CaFleurebon's  2011 Perfumer of the Decade has created his second new fragrance this year (Corps et Ames Apaisante debuted earlier) PG22 DjHenné . The fragrance is inspired by the city of Djenne in Mali, the oldest city in sub Sarahan Africa which is steeped in history as a center of Islamic learning, an important trade route linked withTimbuktu, for its unique sun baked adobe brick architecture and for its annual flood of the Niger and Bani rivers between the months of June and October which turns the city into a lush green island.

Fragrance composition:

Topnote: Lavender, Spearmint, Lilac, Seringa Blossom

Heartnote: Cocoa, Cedarwood

Basenote: Myrrh, Wheat

Available September 2012

  • Those notes sound different and inviting…..this will be on my to try list since I am a PG fan already.

  • What an interesting combination of notes
I cannot even guess what this will smell like but I cant wait

  • PG is my favorite niche line and I own aomassi, musc Maori, indochine, and tonkamande
Always up for any new release by Mr Guilaume

  • Very interesting and strange combination of notes. Oh, how I wanted to visit Djenne when I was in West Africa (interesting spelling variation here…).

I’m a fan of PG, so I’m looking forward to this.

  • Absolutely everything from Pierre’s hands/nose manages to smell divine. Probably the single only house I’d ever trust purchasing a scent ‘blind’ from ! ~ He never disappoints – so I’m already pretty certain I’ll find at very least something to like in DjHenné – if not outright luv ! 🙂

  • This is one house I have not tried, even though several have been on my wish list for awhile.
