Pierre Guillaume, the master perfumer behind the diverse Parfumerie Générale line of fragrances, had revisited three of the scents in the line and reinterpreted their themes to create very different perfumes in his Signature Series. The fourth perfume to be thus re-interpreted is 2005 Cologne Grand Siecle, which homage to a cologne that a perfumer might have created for Louis XIV known as the Sun KIng.

PG 7.1 Grand Siecle Intense is a Bigarde Vetiver, takes the bitter hesperidic accord of the original and reinterprets its bracing freshness in a Eau de Parfum concentration of 22 percent. In the top notes, the essence of bitter orange and lemon leaves dominate, boosted with cypress and mint for added strength. Tobacco and new mown hay are at the heart of the fragrance with a woody base of patchouli and vetiver tinged with honey and oakmoss.

Base: Patchouli, Vetiver, Oak, honey foam

Editor's Note: PG 7 Grand Siecle 2005 is a 100 percent natural and 99 percent organic fragrance. I find this very interesting that Pierre was creating natural fragrances in 2005.
