New Fragrance: Olfactive Studio Ombre Indigo “How Does A Shadow Smell?”

 olfactive studio ombre indigo

Celine Verleure, Creative Director of Olfactive Studio has shown how her dedication to olfactive and photographic art could create a brand ever since the debut of Autoportrait, Chambre Noire and Still Life in 2011. Each fragrance is a collaborative effort between Mme Verleure, a photographer and a perfumer. Her idea for her sixth fragrance Ombre Indigo occured when Celine discovered a Brazilian Photo at an Art Gallery and wondered," How does a shadow smell?"

The photo was by Gustavo Pellizon and the creative process began. According to Mme Verleure, "It is the first deep colorful picture for Olfactive Studio and I wanted to work on a "shadow" inspiration.  A young promising perfumer Mylene Alran of Robertet presented a Tuberose that was woody and resinous. I loved her proposal".

Notes: petit grain bigarade, saffron, tuberose, papyrus, benzoin, incense, vetiver

The fragrance will be officially presented on Thursday, March 20th at Esxence and launched in the US  and France in September 2014, We will be live blogging from Milan so check back often

  • I am really excited about this perfume and thank you for getting the story behind the inspiration as that is really fascinating

I own lumiere Blanche and still life; ombré indigo will be on my buy without sniffing list as I love the idea of saffron tuberose and incense
The photo is stunning and I need to find more about Gustavo Pellizon work

  • This sounds wonderful! Thank you for the background story and of course, the lovely photo that inspired it.

  • Can’t wait to read reviews– I can’t think of any woody tuberose fragrances, and it’s nice to hear about something new.

  • This sounds so delicious and the blue juice is driving me crazy in a good way. I hadn’t been a tuberose fan until Tubereuse Rosee but now I think I may have created a monster…
