NEW FRAGRANCE: La Petite Mort by Marc Atlan, Kilian Hennessy and Bertrand Duchoufour’s ‘Menage A Trois’

At the recent Elements NY show, Marc Atlan debuted his first fragrance "Petite Mort" (in French this means the little death, i.e. an orgasm).

By Kilian is well known for its fragrances of erotic love, and adding Perfume Bertrand Duchaufour as the nose, makes an interesting menage a trois.

Inspired directly by the only bodily fluid secreted solely through desire and brain chemistry, Petite Mort™ (Parfum d'une Femme) embodies the elusive substance that is created by a woman when she is about to climax. Petite mort, little death, total release; beyond a scent, more like a convulsion of the senses, like a hot, gasping breath that penetrates your memories and alters your subconscious".

Bertrand Duchaufour, a star perfumer of niche perfumery, collaborated with Art et Parfum and Kilian Hennesy (of By Kilian fame) for Marc Atlan,  the creative director & designer issuing this new fragrance under his own name. Duchaufour worked on this provocative concept, no doubt like the challenges he loves. Petite Mort’s fragrance exudes an animal carnality with salty notes of sweat and urea. But warm milk, (which is supposed to be the scent that the human brain most closely associates with human skin) is also featured in the form of Sulfurol. According to the M. Duchaufour, "certain subtle ingredients in the perfume are discriminatory, and these notes will not be perceived by everyone. He  adds," Petite Mort is 'aphrodisiacally' compelling”.

The fragrance has been produced in an extremely limited edition of only 100 bottles and 15 Artist Proofs, each with its own signed and numbered certificate of authenticity

You can purchase the perfume from the official web site PetiteMortParfum.com starting in April 2011. The price is $1000 for 10ml

Charlie Sheen would have saved $29,000.00, saved his marriage, and could have fed his addiction with our drug of choice -perfume.

  • Wow! Love that purple juice! Won't be trying this anytime soon though.  LOL @ the Charlie Sheen line

  • Well as a woman, I won't be needing this fragrance because apparently according to the ad-copy it is built into me…..  "embodies the elusive substance that is created by a woman when she is about to climax."
    Phew…. $1000.00 Saved!

  • I find  this "smells" like the united effort to create a big business, nothing else.
Riding with other venturers on the waves of "limited" somethings and trying to squish horrendous sums of money out from people, who may assume that they might be more desirable when purchasing an outrageously overpriced but limited scent.
I could tell them  how to perfume themselves irresistible – but I can't write this in public.

    Martina, I heartily agree.
I'm also bemused and certainly intrigued by the mini explosion {ejaculation?} of body-fluid-pheromonal-supposedly-erotic perfumes into the niche market. It seems everyone's started playing catch-up and me-too.
I'd add  "you know what they say,  if you're having to pay for it…"
Call me cynical, if you will   😉

  • EDIT STATEMENT: i smelled this , it was very interesting I pulled the sweet milk, One person’s Rothko is another’s Renoir. I know Bertrand and kilian personally , and esp bertrand who does not accept just any brief. That being said smell it and then tell me what you think. I never print a press release just for PR…nor do these gentlemen create sub standard jus

  • Even though I do not regret that I won't be able to try this creation (the ad had an advert effect on me), I have to say that I disagree with most "accusations". It couldn't have been done for money: 100 bottles $1,000 each? Ppleeease. Read the names again. "Catch-up"/"me too"? Really? Again, by selling 100 (hundred!) bottles? An artistic statement or a proof of concept – maybe. But not a business enterprise. In my opinion.

This seems to be the most expensive creation you can purchase that was made by Bertrand! I always wanted to smell this. Luckyscent had this. $1000 perfumes are great! I always want to smell them!
