New Fragrance: FEELEY by Amanda Feeley + ‘The Who’ Draw

Natural perfumer Amanda Feeley announced her new botanical perfume, Feeley, which will be a limited edition of twenty five 50 ml flacons.

“I live in one of the most glorious places on earth…The Fidji Islands and wanted to create an homage to the Art and natural beauty of my surroundings”, Amanda said, “I created Feeley because my last name connotes touch and my new perfume is a tribute to the SCENTUAL world that surrounds me. It is also a nod to The Who and Roger Daltry singing, “see me, feel, me touch me”.

The composition is based on one of the rarest flowers in the world, the tagimoucia or medinilla waterhousei, grows only on the island of Taveuni,(the national flower of Fidji), and includes extraits of green ferns and other flowers indigenous to Tavenui, as well as absinthe, Amanda Feeley's signature note(absinthe_dragonfly).

Feeley will be available on http://www.artfire.com/users/AbsintheDragonfly as of April 3, 2011. (The flacon which was not ready at press time will have a tagimoucia (a variety of orchid) shaped stopper shown above.

Wow, would love to go to Fidji one day. Never heard of those flowers, so I guess the closest I will come to smelling them is winning this perfume. 🙂 Tommy is one of my FAV all time albums. A close friend was in the Broadway production. Thanks.

  • Little Black Dress seems like a wonderful wearable scent for any occasion – bright and beguiling but a little naughty with its civet and sandalwood base.
And now this one, which appeals to the tropical-loving me big time.

I loved the movie of Tommy – I saw it many times – Ann-Margret was awesome.

  • A comment on the "Little Black Dress" botanical perfume? Sounds wonderful, or should I say . . . smells wonderful! Love to try it.

  • Both Little Black Dress and Feeley sound beautiful! I would love to try both of them!

  • "The Little Black Dress" inspired by such magnificence as Ms. Hepburn just has to be something special.  ~ It's just gone straight to the top of my must-sample list.

~ However, I wish I could be as enthusiastic about "rock opera" Tommy. It may be a classic, and it certainly has it's moments. But on a whole, it really isn't my thing, I'm afraid !

~  Rare Tagimoucia flowers … now that is way more "my thing".  The perfume sounds very interesting. However, I'm still a little confused if the perfume is inspired by the flower and it's scent, or if it will contain an actual essence or extraction of these flowers ??
Also, incidentally Tagimoucia translated means : " To cry in your sleep " ! … (Perhaps we should expect a bitter-sweet romantic scent then ???)

  • Feeley sounds really beautiful – and limited edition too ? You KNOW how that sets off a lemming !
Loved Ida's 1972 picture of Waylon , OMG we do love a gambler…I saw Tommy in college , and we named our labrador REX after the Rex Beans scene ! That was also early 70's ….haven't thought of those days for years .
please enter me in the draw .

  • Little Black Dress is a name that's imposiible not to love! i sure wish i could find such a "LBD scent" for myself. not having smelled it makes me double curious. and oh, a flower native to Fidji only… a paradise land… what's not to be curious about…. so intriguing! smart marketing 🙂

  • I've never been much into The Who so never listened to The Rock Opera Tommy. I doubt I ever will.
The LBP's notes sound delightful…there starts the drooling again. I wonder if natural perfumery will be the only one where we'll see some of these notes whose banning have mutated so many gorgeous perfumes. So, particularly in this context, would love to try Miss Feeley's art.

Thanks to social media, I have become a dear friend of Amanda Feeley!  I have always dreamed on going to a tropical island such as Fidji and now I will dream of one day wearing a fragrance conceived by my friend, Amanda!!

  • I love the notes in Little Black Dress- a perfect combination for spring…although I'm curious about 'civet'…is that the oil taken from cats? Or an artificial substitute? Anyway, I've always loved 'Tommy'- since it came out when I was a kid…my older siblings were already into hard rock and so it was one of the soundtracks of my youth- although I've got to admit the movie scared me the first time around- especially Tina Turner as the 'Acid Queen'…!

  • Ida said that Little Black Dress is a very wearable fragrance, and I like that. I guess I would love the middle phase, with elderflower ( it smells like tea? :)) and all the other floral notes, but I don't know if civet would work on me. By the way, I have never been attracted by bad guys…

And the Rock Opera Tommy is one of my unresolved matters. I'll have to listen to it.

  • Taffynfontana says:

Natural perfumes are a wonderful way to connect with nature in our hurried lives.

  • Ida definitely has a way with words. With notes of jasmine, rose & ylang ylang LBD is one I must try.

As for Feeley, how could I not want to try this. An orchid scent? Another 'must try'.

  • Tagimoucia?! Sounds crazy wonderful! I would love to try Feeley. Little Black Dress sounds like it's hiding a little leather dress underneath. Alluring!
