New Fragrance: Comme des Garçons Wonderoud (2014) “Let there be Agarwood”

When you think of great wood fragrances, Comme des Garçons Parfums immediately comes to mind. Their new perfume, Wonderoud is their first scent with oud in the composition and is a follow up to Wonderwood composed in 2010 by Antoine Lie.  Wonderoud was composed by another Antoine, Antoine Maisondieu who collaborated in the past with M. Lie (Etat Libre D’Orange Rossy de Palma, Vierges et Toreros). M. Maisondieu has now composed 10 fragrances for Comme des Garçons, including the Comme de Garcons Play series (Red, Black and Green) and the Monocle Series (Hinoiki, Sugi and Laurel) under Creative Director Christian Astuguevieille .

Notes: Cedarwood Texas, agarwood, Indonesian patchouli, sandalwood from Australia, Haiti vetiver, guaiac wood

    I’m seeing more and more oud fragrances hitting the market. Thanks to Sujaan Grimson’s recent Oudimentary article, I understand a lot more about this note. I generally like perfumes that are for both women and men, and this oriental woody fragrance sounds promising.
