Memo Paris Marfa (Aliénor Massenet /Clara Molloy) Youtube Video Perfume Review + Real Men Wear Tuberose Draw

Alienor-Massenet clara molloy memo

Aliénor Massenet of Symrise and Clara Molloy

Creative Director Clara Malloy of Memo Paris has enjoyed a prolific and successful relationship with defacto in house perfumer Aliénor Maissenet, (now of Symrise) who she met while researching a book called 22 Perfumers. Memo's leitmotif is sense of place, memories of journeys, in fact the name Memo comes from the word memories. Marfa was inspired by Madame Malloy’s trip to Marfa, Texas, a town in the high desert. The flacon is beautiful with the  Keith Haring esque blue eye seeming  to wink at you (Marfa is the first in the new art collection).

Two Cowboys Looking at the Marfa Texas Prada Store Photo Gray Malin for oneskingslane.com

One of my favorite photos is a PRADA store standing like a mirage in the middle of a desolate strip of road on I 90. While I am not sure if the cowboys are just gawking or thinking of buying Prada boots;there are rumors. I think they would smell great wafting Marfa.  Tuberose seems to be having a moment this year and this is one that easily can be worn by men. Contributor Sebastian Jara of the YouTube Channel Looking Feeling Smelling Great, and founder of a popular Facebook Group reviews Memo Marfa

It has been inspired by Marfa, Texas and the notes Sebastian mentions do justice because Marfa is hot, dry, dusty place and it has notes like mandarin, orange blossom, cedarwood which work well in hot weather. Sebastian also mentions it is dusty which does justice to the name as Marfa reminds one of dusty places. last but not least, Sebastian calls it masculine tuberose and how it impressed many people in San Francisco. thanks a lot for the draw. I am in the US. My favorite Memo perfume is Shams Oud.

  • I love memo paris i own italian and african leather and i am in love with them , thanks

  • Can’t wait to try this one!! Great review Seb. I really love this house. Great scents and perform very well.

  • Robert H. says:

Great review Sebatian, Marfa Texas is such an interesting place, a small and unassuming town bursting to the seams with art and creativity! Love Memo frags, my favorite is Ylang Nosy Be, but this one sounds terrific. LOVE tuberose and always get tons of compliments when I wear a tuberose-centric perfume!

  • Deborah A. Lane McGuire says:

Thank you so much for this giveaway. I’m a newbie to tuberose and love to find new ‘takes’ on this note. ( I generally dislike overly-feminine tuberose, and all of them seem to fall into this category.)

  • Deborah A. Lane McGuire says:

oops, forgot to mention that I”m in the US. I’ve never sampled anything from this house.

  • Charles M says:

Another great review. One of the very few companies where I’ve tired multiple products and every fragrance I’ve tried is nothing short of amazing. Marfa sounds like another hit yet sophisticated scent.

  • I like Sebastian’s channel contents. Reviews, top 10, interviews, giveaways.
One of my favorite fragrance reviewers in YouTube.
This memo fragrance (Marfa) sounds very interesting n unique. n I’d like to try it asap or win this giveaway 🙂

    Thanks guys,

  • The mention of agave and tuberose note caught my attention right away and the dry dusty accents Sebastian mentioned seem intriguing. I have African leather and love it. Thanks!

  • I love Sebastians enthusiasm about the fragrance. i don’t think he’s blown away very often. And I liked learning a little about his research methods with fragrances:) The only Memo fragrances Ive tried so far are Italian and African Leather. They are both so great and unique. Im sure this will be great as well:)

    Im in the United States

  • The different tuberose seems interesting and sounds very nice. I’m in the United States.

  • It’s interesting that Sebastian thinks the woody notes almost feel tobacco-y, I’m intrigued by a tuberose tobacco combination! I’ve only recently started trying more traditionally ‘masculine’ scents, but I’m finding that I’m really liking some of them and would love to try this one. I haven’t tried any Memo fragrances yet. 🙁 Thanks so much for the review and the draw, I’m in the US!

  • Edward Gurango says:

Never heard of this brand but what makes it intriguingly interesting is the choice of some obscure(to most of us) desert town for the name of the fragrance. Tuberose? I’m willing to try anything once! And yes, I’m in California, USA.

  • I’m fascinated with this fragrance. First off, the presentation is fantastic looking. I love tobacco scents, and my favorite wood base notes are cedar and sandalwood… so I think this is an absolute home run for me. Great video review and a great, generous giveaway. Thanks LFSG and Cafleurebon! I live in New Jersey.

  • Paulsicles says:

Looking at the notes it seems like more of a women’s fragrance, but I know how Seb likes his fragrances on the heavy side. Cheers from UT!

  • Lellabelle says:

Love the enthusiasm and am totally intrigued by tobacco and tuberose. The I90 has fascinating scents along the way and agave in the mix is a really interesting combo. I’ve sampled a couple of the Memo line and my favourite of those I’ve tried was Italian leather. Please enter me for the draw, US please.

  • Donovan Reich says:

I have yet to try any perfumes from the Memo house, although this and African Leather intrigue me the most. I appreciate Sebastian bringing the newest releases to us. My favorite part is his explanation of a masculine-like tuberose note which I find very appealing! Thank you for the draw!

  • Eric meyers says:

Love how its a masculine floral. Most of them turn very feminine on my skin would love to try this. From oklahoms

  • The bottle looks so pretty and the notes sounds lovely. I’ve tried Siwa and I love it- perfect spring summer fragrance! Looking forward to testing this one. Thank you! USA

  • I am very curious to smell this–I love orange blossoms and tuberose! Sebastian’s review is only lacking a scratch & sniff component!!

  • That’s such a fun bottle! I’ve only tried a couple Memo scents, but my favorite so far is African Leather. So rich. I love Sebastian’s enthusiasm! It makes me more excited about Marfa. Thanks for the giveaway 🙂 I’m in the US!

  • Just as Tuberose seems to be having a moment, so too does the allure of West Texas seem to enchant and inspire Europeans. From Muccia Prada’s installation piece to this latest fragrant homage, the allure of the West, much like the Marfa lights, illuminates the air with mystery. I hope I likewise illuminate my surroundings with tuberose if I am the fortunate winner! Proud native Texan here, never had the opportunity to try Memo before but would love to! I am a total fragrance junkie, and would live a bottle of this to enhance my wardrobe. Thanks! 🙂

  • Anastasia says:

This is a great video review and Sebastian really seems excited about Marfa. What’s beautiful bottle and I love all frags tuberose but Marfa sounds especially wonderful because of what he smells as tobacco
I had never heard of the town before and I love that photo of the two Texans looking at the prada store
I have never tried a memo Paris before but I will soon change that

  • Marfa sounds like it would be right up my alley. I’ve been drawn to masculine florals (and not so masculine florals, too) recently. Sebastian’s description of the woods backing up the tuberose really makes me want to get my nose on this!

  • Sebastian leads one to believe you are right there with him smelling the notes along with him. I love Sebastian reviews. This Memo sounds incredibly good! Would love the opportunity to win a bottle. I would even share with the hubby! 🙂

  • What a great review, and thank you for the giveaway! I loved how Sebastian helps me understand how it actually feels to wear the tuberose note, and I REALLY loved hearing that he got several nice comments about this perfume! I have been dying to smell this “dusty tuberose” – I love Memo, Marfa is on my must-visit list, and this sounds like a perfume I would get along well with:) I’m in the US!

  • Diana Devlin says:

This is a completely new line for me. I’ve never tried anything from them but love the idea of a tuberose-based fragrance. I always enjoy all Sebastian’s reviews. He makes me want to go out and buy every perfume he reviews!
    I live in the U.S.

  • Paulie Peanuts says:

Its new to me, but sounds very interesting in the review. Would love to try it.

  • Agave & Tuberose peaked my interest….my first introduction to the Memo line was Siwa, which I still adore. I also recently tested a sample of the African Leather and wowzer another fantastic scent. LOve the review and would love to try this. I am in the US. Thank you so much.

  • I really liked Sebastian’s description of the fragrance and how he insisted that although it’s centered on tuberose, it’s masculine. I really like tuberose so I definitely want to smell this fragrance. I have tried briefly the leathers from Memo and found the Italian Leather to be very nice. I’m in the US.

  • Camden Snyder says:

I absolutely love the idea of a masculine tuberose. Im a huge fan of tuberose but it can often be quite feminine.

  • Loved the video Sebastian made going into finite detail about the fragrance and making it sound very enticing and appealing although it is based on a white floral I actually enjoy immensely white florals and would love to try this beautiful creation on myself I live in the US and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity presented here I want to thank the kind and generous people at CaFleurebon for making this possible for the fragrance community

  • Hello,

I was fascinated by the use of tuberose in this fragrance(description), as I think of myself as having covered all the tuberose bases in my collection…But this reads like such a different spin on it, and one that my partner might really appreciate.

I live in NYC. Cheers, and Thanks!

    Deb

  • What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s review of Marfa by Memo Paris was the way he described the tuberose in the fragrance and when he said he was blown away by quality of Marfa. My favorite Memo Paris perfume is Siwa
    I live in America

  • I always enjoy watching Sebastian’s reviews. I was surprised when he said this was a masculine tuberose because to me it’s the opposite. So I guess that makes it a good unisex. I have tried this one and LOVE it. It’s very different from the line’s other tuberose, Sundance. I would love to have a bottle of this beautiful fragrance as it is my favorite of the line. I am in the USA.

  • Rodney Q. Wallace says:

Another outstanding review by Sebastian. I’m extremely intrigued by the idea of a masculine tuberose fragrance. I have only tried Moon Fever from Memo Paris. But I would absolutely love the chance to try Marfa. I live in the U.S. Thanks for the most generous giveaway!

    Take care.

  • The best on YouTube! Sebastian always does a great job on his reviews. Tuberose is one of my favorite notes and have heard Memo from Paris make great fragrances. Also great bottle to boot. I live in the US

  • First off let me say that this sounds like the memocitrus fragrance I have been waiting for.it sounds amazing for the summer. Who wouldn’t love Vanilla seed and citruses with some agave to balance it all out.great review!!!!!

  • Interesting accords since i live in the high desert of las vegas. And not gamiliar at all with memo. Thanks!

  • i enjoyed how excited sebastian was about this composition, and having it tested with other fragance lovers and also getting thumbs up from them., i have to put my nose in this one. Fantastic review

  • Another great review by Sebastian and he always makes me want to rush out and buy a bottle! I love tobacco fragrances and tuberose I’m slowly discovering is a note that I like. I live in the US and thanks for the generous draw! 🙂

  • I love every thing from Sebastian, his reviews are amazing.
I would love to try memo frags, Italian leather, African leather and the rest.
    Houston, TX.

  • Sebastian, I loved where you said the woods/tobacco notes were “chocking the tuberose with masculinity and giving some oomph and beefiness to it”. Most of my collection veers masculine and I have a special fondness for scents evocative of the desert climate ( also a huge woods lover) so this review really piqued my interest! I’d love to be included in the draw- thank you for the opportunity, and also for the marvelous reviews you do!

  • shadowart says:

I’ve been really hoping to try a tuberose fragrance that is very masculine.
    Good luck everyone.

  • I have never tried a masculine tuberose so this would be all new to me. But I have been wearing many florals of late and would like to give this a try. Have heard many great things from Memo Paris. Thanks from the US.

  • Michelle Blair says:

I always love to learn about new fragrances from Sebastian, both for me and my husband. I know the give away closed yesterday… So good luck to you all!
