Wearing Mélange by Esscentual Alchemy I imagine myself as Satine in Moulin Rouge…replete with ivory cigarette holder, black lace ensemble and flower bedecked swing, high above my adoring crowd…singing at least as well as Nicole Kidman and pouting almost as fabulously. 

This scent is satiny-red-velvety-spicy and alluring. Thus propelled toward the burlesque, I believe, in direct response to the known aphrodisiac qualities of clove, nutmeg, patchouli and the gingery Ginger Lily one is temporarily catapulted into a bohemian world of song, dance and other sensual pleasures relieving one momentarily of one’s moral imperatives.  This scent …makes you think of things you might otherwise not. 

Mélange sits well on the skin. The richness of the notes blends well together and have mild sillage but great longevity.  The clove, white lotus and ginger lily emerge in a definitively spicy manner slowly giving way to the sultry bed of patchouli, sandalwood and vanillic benzoin over the course of a few hours.

This scent could also be called Moulin Rouge… or maybe something after Bette Midler, like her scrumptiously depraved alter ego “Baby Divine” who appeared in a children’s book..or two.

And I think it should come in a really big bottle, at least as a special order for very greedy girls.
