  • LOL! Mark, I totally get it with this Arquiste – it’s excellently done but is my least wearable choice as well! This is a great conversation with Chandler – he is such an elegant speaker, making the idea of perfume design and development (pre-creation) very accessible. I like the Titian reference – it makes sense. Titian is an understandable artist – but his work is not lighthearted, nor is it particularly accessible; one ‘gets’ Titian, viscerally – but not a ‘comfortable’ artist. Hope that makes sense?

Thanks for allowing us to sit in on a very interesting conversation.

  • You were a great host and this reveal was significantly more interesting to watch then the last two
Mr Burr gets a bit scholarly and erudite and it’s great to have an interpreter to keep him on track and on topic

  • First compliments to Mark Benke …he was the perfect foil to Chandler
I think what upset me was chandler burrs total dismissal of natural and independent perfumery not coming from the major houses
I will no longer purchase any open sky perfume in the untitled series
as olfactive artists aren’t just perfumers from big companies

  • Well done, Mark. Unfortunately I’ve as yet been unable to try any of the Arquiste scents. Looking very much forward to the next installment; “a perfume that everybody likes”?, intriguing.

  • Great! Very glad – this was *exactly* what I was hoping for! Thank you, Mark and Chandler. I love the way you rephrased my rather technical question to make it more understandable to everybody else, and yet tell me exactly what I was looking for! And thanks for taking on these questions head-on. (PS – shout out to the Fragrance Bros., too!)
